1241  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: January 09, 2023, 08:19:55 PM
In life we have different folks with different likes and preference. There are people that chosed to go into business as businessmen from scratch and turned out to be business tycoons and movers and shakers of the industries with some few years in business.

While on the other hand some other person chosed to be employees as in working for those that owns business organisations/companies and yet still made it in life to an enviable climax. Perhaps cause that's what they love and have enthusiasm for rather than being an entrepreneur which perhaps might not have worked out well for their career eventually.

Either way, be it a business owner or an employee there are some other people who venture into either of them made no success too. Life can be somehow unfair, right? No! Life isn't unfair, for that's how the cosmos works. So everyone can't just win on a particular thing, definitely not everyone  Smiley

Now let's have a discussion about it all, for between being an employee to work for some other person's establishments/organization/company  and rather taking time/years to establishing your own company and not working under an employer but rather you being the employer, which will you chose and please ensure to back up your choice with reasonable thoughts, as it could be a guide to some other person's that might be reading this tread.

Let's begin!

It's going to depend what sort of industry and profession you're in really. There's a big difference between being a greeter in a supermarket on minimum wage and being employed by a company at the highest end in finance or being a doctor. The internet has really broken down barriers for all levels really and it has never been easier to start a business in many different forms online. Whether you're creating websites or buying in bulk to resell physical products, offering translations or designing an art piece, there are huge possibilities that only require an internet connection to get going. It's best to try many different things and see what setup works best for you.

I'm you with your point if you are keen in succeeding in owning a business you need to explore and keep trying to look
for that particular business that will going to fit with you.

There are many competitions both from day job and online services as well with establishing business, it will depend in a
kind of mindset a person has to find success.

It is your decision making that will drives you to whatever directions you'll going, your own assessment, whether to
continue working as employee or owning and establishing your business.
1242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding could be better on: January 09, 2023, 12:52:25 PM
My advice to traders that are losing is to still continue to trade, but using just 20% while 80% should go into holding. What do you people think about this? Out of 100% fund, what percentage can you advice a trader to use?
Why not hold 100% for long term gains? If they are losing money it doesn't make much sense to continue insisting on this practice. Instead of losing 20% of their portfolio today, they should be profiting 20% more futurely, from long term tradings. I think someone who attempted day trade for a considerable length of time must feel regretful if he calculates how much he has already lost with bad trades. That represents money that could be put in good use if he had simply held for longer, until the market started pumping again. People venturing into daily trading must think carefully if it worths to have more headaches, spend more time to end losing money after all.

Better understanding and how they can handle the risk while playing with day trades, there's a need of good assessment if you think
that you are not getting any good outcome with your day trades.

For sure there are different views regarding to this matter and those who can manage day trade have their own opinions about your statement.

Whatever strategy, either hold or do day trade or scalping, the intention remain the same, gaining profits is what traders are targeting
and if they can achieve that then it's a good trade for them.

You see no reason for referees using a headset inside the ring but when they do, that is something to really wonder why. There were just hypotheses about referees getting instructions from the top where they could just raise the hand of a fighter that obviously fated to win even before the fight started.

Maybe true, maybe not. We can't just associate that with a form of cheating as maybe, that serves another purpose. Although, who knows?

Generally, from judges to referees, there's really a chance to manipulate results especially if the fight turned out close.

Because of that, I remember the Bivol-Canelo bout where there are speculations that if the fight instead turned out close the whole time, judges can easily score more points for Canelo every round. This fight turned the underdog Bivol into a superstar overnight.

It does serves another purpose because the count has to be synched and referees need some guide from the outside because there might be some angle that the referees are not aware or haven't saw. But still, these headsets raises some suspicious issues because they are really the ones who know what's going on behind that ear piece.

And yes, I definitely agee, Canelo has been favored a lot lately when it comes to close fights that needed a judge to rule and give the outcome. There's no doubt that if Bivol didn't show a dominant performance, he's likely a nobody today who have no belts because in that fight, judges will actually favor Canelo. But Bivol made an outstanding performance which literally upsets the crowd/bookies/judges favorite and made a fight that can't be helped by the judges.

The organization should take a closer look on this, if there's a lot of doubt that already spreading regarding to that earpiece issue
then they should act right away and prevent the ref to use it.

It's still good to see a clean fight without any angle of cheating or any concern with manipulations, I get the point where judges
can ruined the outcome if the fight ended close.

That example with Bivol, and how he dominates the fight to avoid any manipulation or control of the judges those are legit.
1244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is The Gambling Industry Part Of The Domino Effect That Happens In The Market on: January 09, 2023, 08:07:48 AM
~ I'm sure those reputable gambling sites today won't do some sh*t especially the considered big ones already in the industry.

That's right, it's a bit different with reputable gambling platforms than with centralized exchanges, even with those used by millions. We've heard lots of stories about big exchnges disappearing with people's money, but I don't remeber a single one about something similar happening with a big and reputable gambling site.

These industries are so different that I wouldn't expect a "domino effect" here.

Big and reputable casino will avoid taking that way. The business is huge, and they are earning a lot of money from their patrons. I also
believe that those casino owners will do their best to keep the business alive.

Though we can't conclude since the future is not ours to conclude, maybe there's a small chance in which a reputable casino might
disappear and runaway with people's money.

This domino effect for now is not present to the casino industry. Reputable business owners are doing everything to assure that
the business will continue and they will keep all those clients being satisfied while playing.
1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: January 09, 2023, 07:59:14 AM
Eddie Hearn's idea is nuts. He wants Dmitry Bivol to drain down to 168 from 175. That is not going to happen anyway. Bivol will refuse it outright. He would rather stay at 175 and face Artur Beterbiev. The idea of being undisputed at both 168 and 175 may sound very promising, but I am sure that Bivol is intelligent enough to understand the trap that is being laid for him here. IMO, Canelo should focus on fighting John Ryder first, and after that he should fight the winner of the Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez match.

And Bivol hasn't fought in 168 lbs, he was a natural Light HW since the beginning of his career, so we know what Hearn or Canelo is thinking here, to drain Bivol in their rematch to get all the advantage and at least assure of them of a big win. So the ball is on the court of Bivol and his team, if they are going to succumb to the pressures or just simply look for other fight at 175 lbs.

And as I have said, if the Bivol fight is not going to happen, they will pick an easy fight and that could be John Ryder.

On the other hand, Plant vs Benavidez is not a snoozer, Plant's knockout of Dirrell is knockout of the year for me. So he will be riding on this momentum to have a big knockout win and repeat that act, if he can against David.

But Bivol won't be risking his title if he will fight Canelo at 168 lbs, the interesting question for this, is Canelo willing to risk his titles on the line just for the sake of getting a higher chance against Bivol? I don't think that's a good idea, really. They are saying that Bivol should visit Canelo at his division, but what if Bivol will agree and will make the weight.

They should just approach the rematch at Bivol's division and not the opposite because Canelo has nothing to lose anymore, it will be a money fight for their camp without any risks and Canelo will benefit either way as well because he will get a belt if he can pull a win in this rematch.

What if Bivol will do that and try snatching Canelo's belt? It's not by far since Bivol can take that weight and he can continue doing
the same fighting style or maybe he can be more fit.

I get your point and the possibility that Canelo will move up for the sake of money is higher, nothing to lose, but there's a huge
amount that in stake if he will take his chance to call for a rematch in the same weight level.

Let's see if how they will take that, but for the meantime let's move back to Caleb and Benavidez.

1247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 08, 2023, 08:35:06 PM
Surely Gervonta Davis wanted to be underestimated by his opponents because he's viewing that as an advantage because his opponents are likely complacent enough saying that they will beat Tank easily because they are smarter, taller, or stronger. But as of now, none of them has proven that they're much more capable and stronger than Davis. Hector might end up like Rolly Romero, thinking that he was way smarter than Davis but the outcome was definitely different from what he expected.

Tank is a champion, I don’t think that anyone can underestimate him, on the contrary, everyone understands that a fight with such an opponent can turn out to be one of the most difficult in his career. I see that Garcia behaves very confidently, in one of his statements he said that he would knock out Tank before the second round, but this seems absolutely unrealistic to me, it will be a long and hard fight, and Tank in this fight seems to me a stronger.

Davis beats Hector Garcia and it's true that beating Davis before the 2nd round is far from any reality, it's good that Hector able to
survive till the 8th round before he the fight was ended.

There are many solid combinations that Tank throws to Hector especially those convert punches that really shaken Hector.

But at the end of the day, it was Davis who take the win, and moving forward to the original topic, the date is getting closer
both fighters will take their trainings seriously, knowing that they both wanted to KO their opponent.
1248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 08, 2023, 08:19:43 PM
It's looking good for the Chicago Bulls and for their fans out there.
3rd a winning streak. Zach LaVine is sizzling hot. Yesterday 41 points were against the 76ers and now a hot 36 points against the Jazz and defeating them in the process. That's a back-to-back game for him and yet there's no trace of exhaustion.
With him playing like this with most of their games, they will go back to a higher seed in speed. Now, they are sitting at the 9th spot but that should not stop there.
Their next stop is against the Boston Celtics on the road, it will be a rough game for them. Offensive duos will clash at TD Garden.

Yep mate, that's what I have predicted that's why I chooses the Bulls to win again against the struggling Jazz team. Remember that there are rumors that he wants to be traded, but we are not sure about it. But with this performance of him and DeRozan, it's hard to stop them if both star players are playing that offensive basketball.

There were anxious moments in the game wherein I thought that they are going to lose specially at the start of the 4th that they are still trailing. But in the last 8 minutes, both of them turn the game over, they made a run and they build a 10 point lead and that was enough to hold off the Jazz late rally.

If both stars will play in the same level the winning chance of the team is better, those trade rumors might cooldown for a while and we
are seeing good performances from Lavine and DeRozan.

Like you said, if they will continue playing like this and those role players who are playing with them will also contribute decently.

They can move back on top and chase for the playoff spot, too early but hopefully they will.

Playing on a small screen, is uncomfortable. No matter how you look at it.

All you're doing is trading in the convenience of a big screen for the convenience of gambling on the toilet at work. Personally to me, its not worth the trade-off.

Also, physical casinos are a completely different experience and they cannot be compared to online gambling. Not that you would know  Roll Eyes
I will agree with this, if other people prefer to gamble by using their smartphones then that is their decision and I respect it, but if given a choice I would pick my PC over my smartphone.

To begin with I do not have to force my eyesight when I play with my PC as I can easily increase the font of everything to whatever size I want without any limit, now my eyesight is still perfect but I know a lot of young people that have to use glasses already because of their smartphones, besides a mouse gives you way more precision than using your fingers so this reduces the chances of making any kind of mistake and misplace a bet or betting more than what you wanted on a single bet.

Like what you mentioned from that first part of your statement big screen is much better to use when gambling, the visibility and the chance
of clearly seeing all the options to avoid making mistakes is better using big screens.

Though if you are just aiming to quickly place your bet and you are not caring about anything aside from the bet that need to complete.

Using smartphone or other small devices that can let you to go online and bet might not give any issue or problem, a case to case
concern to each bettors.
1250  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: January 07, 2023, 01:31:53 AM

1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 06, 2023, 11:38:29 PM
The problematic season is continuing for Lakers.

They have such an inconsistent form really. Sometimes they start a winning streak which stops sharply all of a sudden. It is a three-game winning streak for now and we will see how long this will go on. It feels like they will finish the regular season on the brink of the playoff area. But I don't know if they would stay inside of it or outside. Because this performance isn't credible enough to be sure of something about their future. Lebron must still be quite frustrated at his team now. Because he is still playing really competitively.
I think that's already a given fact this season, we are just waiting if they are going to make a move and trade some of their players, but so far they seems to satisfied as how they are doing, although for the fans, it's another worst season for them and the only bright light is Lebron breaking the record of another Laker great, Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

I do agree, they are borderline team and maybe they could be out of the playoffs again with this kind of lineup.

Or if they make it, probably gets eliminated by the top team in the West, like the Nuggets and Memphis team in the first round.

With the current squad, we can say that they are not good competitors for the title chase, there are lot of super teams in the west
and even they manage to go for the play-in,

the chance to move forward and win a good spot for the playoff is tough for them, without AD the winning chance of Lakers
is really hard.

We will see if they will take some chance if they trade players and hope to get someone who can help in both offense and defense.

Referees wearing headset will really raise some suspicion to the public, even if they will have a valid reason for it, people and the respective camps will of course doubt as they don't know what's going on with the headset thing as they don't know what the referees are hearing. Anyway, are they using some kind of headset nowadays? I don't know that, if yes, then that shouldn't be allowed to prevent the referees from clouding their judgement.

If there's a doubt that may develop better not to allow refs to have that kind of headset, we can't tell what they are
hearing or what are the real purpose of those headsets.

It's better to not to have that kind of device while you are in the middle of the fight as doubt may develop if there's a problem
with fair judging.

Best to remove any possible ways to question any judgements.
1254  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding could be better on: January 05, 2023, 10:15:21 PM
There are perfect timing to hodl and that time is when bitcoin is doing some bad movement since bear market hit so bad, maybe by this time its better time to decide on when to take you positions then use this one for long term holding.
Buying right now is pretty good as Bitcoin's decline from the last ATH has been around -70% and this is certainly a pretty deep drop. If you're still not sure, then wait for the next decline (if the market doesn't show signs of being bullish).

Bad timing to hold is doing it when bullish season is at the peak because you want more or think that there will be more pump to come since this one will make you a bag holder or even a huge loser since for sure correction times will happen anytime at that situation.
When the bullish time occurs and the candle has shown the needle up, never buy because of FOMO, it will only make your losses increase and hold it long enough to recover from the previous price. but currently, there are no bullish signs yet. the market tends to stagnate and will probably experience a recovery in 2023. let's wait for what will happen next.
The current price is indeed not a bad spot for you to buyback or make out some accumulation because in making up some comparison into those previous bear markets then it is really that significant
percentage drop which we could assume out that we might be already at the bottom or near on it which means that it isnt a bad spot for us to make such move.Although, there are
really just people who do decide to wait up further just because they are really that believing that there is still more drops to come, its not something that we could know ahead
but its up to someone whether they would take up the risk or not.

There are different perceptions and different assessment in each investor and traders' mindsets, you need to work on your own analysis
and make your decision according to how you anticipate the upcoming market.

No one can predict the market as accurate as it can be, more on speculation and basing in how they experienced the last market movement.

Either bull or bear, they are basing their investment with how they understand the market.
1255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: January 05, 2023, 09:59:02 PM
Well there is a new name popping around recently that Canelo is interested on fighting British contender John Ryder.

For sure it won't sit well on the winner of this fight, because we wanted if David Benavidez wins here, to fight Canelo. So it's a surprised if indeed Canelo will skip Bivol in his comeback fight and step aside the winner here and fight John Ryder.

I wouldn't be surprised though as we all know that Canelo is recovering from his injuries so he might as well take a light opponent first before taking either the winner of this fight or again avenge his defeat to Bivol.

Canelo's camp will find ways to take it lighter as he is recovering from his injuries, better than fight lightly than there's no fight at all,
even he might criticize but what is important is he will bring fight for the fans.

whoever wins in this upcoming fight against Plant and Benavidez, they will wait if Canelo deals with them, there's nothing to do
for now, but to focus with their fight.

Talking for the next fight will be too early, as they needed to take care of the fight first then talk for the next coming one.
1256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 05, 2023, 09:44:27 PM
Is it just me or NBA quality and excitement in games, especially endings went up crazy fast lately? Even though it's only regular season we see great performances, breaking records, unbelievable comebacks and buzzer beaters in almost every game.
Watched two games yesterday night and both of them had crazy ending. Toronto Raptors made an unbelievable comeback and carried the game to overtime but they lost there. Then I switched to Pistons - Warriors game and it had similar end. Warriors almost went overtime with Klay but Saddiq Bey said the last word. Draymond got ejected again. Crazy games we witnessed every night and I love it.

Both ending got similarity indeed, I was thinking that after that shot of Klay, the game will on the overtime, and they will slowly snatch
that game since they are mostly doing it.

But that last shot of Saddiq Bey disappoints the whole dub nation, really crazy final shot and the outcome went out favoring the visiting team.

Regarding to Raptor's it was short, though they manage to push the game into Overtime but that final assist of Giannis to Allen, it was a clear
look and Allen have enough time to take and make that winning shot.
1257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 05, 2023, 04:01:18 PM
Are we getting trap with the Lakes taking a lead against the Heat, without Lebron, AD?

I'm taking the Heat -5.5 at 2.20 live betting. Still in the 2nd half and although the Lakers are leading at their homecourt, they might tire (they usually does), and it's time for Miami to take the two full quarters.

Nets though lost even if Durant has a big 44 points, thus ending their winning streak.

The Lakers win the game, Dennis and Russ works with their offense well, without AD and LeBron the Lakers manage to protect the homecourt
it is good to see that all the players are really working together to win the game.

Not sure what happened with the Heat, I was thinking that they can win this easily with Bam and Jimmy and the rest of their role players
I don't see them losing this game.
1258  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin survived the Christmas market pressure on: January 05, 2023, 03:03:29 PM

Is this an indication of the bullish market in the year 2023 where Bitcoin will break 20,000 in the early weeks of the year?
Not sure if this is going to be possible because we have here already , week after January started yet staying at 16k though there are small increase at least hundred dollars since yesterday?
but this is not enough to expect a 20k breaking just this closing the month.

Yes, hopefully we can catch that $17k price again, we have a short rally at around $16,800-$16,900. And this is just the start of the month. But the biggest mental support that we need to get back is $20 as you have said.

At least we feel confident that we might not hit another lower lows and and that $15,500 is the lowest already in this bear market.

So survived the pressure in 2022, but there could be more pressure though, just saying. And so we just need to relax and panic, let the market flows naturally and soon we might be in the $20k range again, maybe not this January, but for sure we will get to it.

Don't feel the pressure and allow the market to work naturally, we don't know if how long it will take but the good catch here is
we are seeing positive movement and hopefully it will continue.

The trend of moving up and reaching maybe $20K is favorable to all those who bought during that $15,500 low but we can't say that it won't
happen again.

We are all speculating in hope that we anticipate it right.

Don't worry mate because you are not alone in the confusion made by Manny Pacquiao's recent big move towards RIZIN.

In my knowledge, this RIZIN is a Japan based company that caters MMA and kickboxers like the Dana White's UFC. So, I'm thinking that Pacquiao might have an encounter in the future with their highest paid athletes to fight Pacquiao in the ring and generate Millions worth of revenue. I'm not sure though but that's the best speculation that I can think of. They should've give more details about this to clear up the people's confusion in this matter.

When they smell some honey, they will not hesitate to make some money and this is the trend nowadays because there are still lots of fans that are willing to watch those kinds of fights. They found the right thing to do without hurting both fighters too much like in real fights because they already trained to lighten their punches to avoid any unnecessary injuries. But the high payments are still there and this is the same reason why the likes of Manny Pacquiao still fight in the ring even though he is already past the age when most boxers retired from boxing.

The reason is fans still wanted Pacman inside the ring. Whatever deal behind it, there's huge money that will accompany this kind of movement
from Pacman, we know how business works when there is a huge amount of money that in stake.

Expect that the announcement will surround social medias to hype the upcoming possible fight of Pacman, we don't know yet what will be
the plan.

But surely expect the huge amount of money that will be involved in this contract.

As long as there is time, try and win the game, don't settle just because the calculated time says so. The Cavs played defense quite impressive and then take the foul if they cannot steal it until they reach a tie for overtime.

Agree. If I'm not mistaken Cavaliers are down as much as 20+ points in that game but the patience to make a rally applies.

In today's NBA, a certain team is really not considered safe or on the verge of winning a game even up with huge points.

22/34 FG is an impressive stat. We can't just say that his 71 points is made in a force attempt but rather pure skills.

That percentage is really impressive and the way the really help the team to win the game, it's not just the offensive attacks but also
the hassle that really bring greatness in him.

I can say that a lots of situations where teams who got a decent lead in the last few minutes of the game can't be feel comfortable
and stop being aggressive to keep doing the play.

Before Mitchell, Luka also deliver that magical play to push the game into overtime against NYK.
