1321  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks admit they fear BTC on: February 20, 2018, 07:13:01 AM
Well, I knew this long ago, We needed no expertise to say it twice before we fully know. The banks hates crypto, to them, it like a big competitor that needs eliminating. They feel that with crypto people don't need them anymore; if people are holding their money themselves through digital means which is easily accessible, of what use is the bank then? They are of no use, since almost all their features, loan, retirement saving etc. can be gotten through crypto.
1322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Oligarchs on: February 19, 2018, 09:56:23 PM
You will find people them in every new industry.

They were smart enough to invest in crypto in the beginning of the age and luckily enough to have the resources to do it.

Quite lucky I must say. I keep on envying my mate who took up the opportunity of investing in bitcoin when it first started out. A lot of them who did are now what I can call 'financially stable.' The painful thing is that, I knew about bitcoin at it earlier stage just like them but procrastination made me invest late and at the same time lose out. Well, its their luck, congrates to them.

1324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin market continues to rise above $10k on: February 19, 2018, 01:13:52 PM
Don't be so quick to think that bitcoin will continue to pump constantly from now on; you should bear in mind that there might be a dip which might be coming that we don't know about. A lot of investors might feel relaxed now but I wouldn't do that. This is crypto, anything can happen. There might be few more dips before bitcoin pumps or hits the mega price and it might be during 2018 ending.
1325  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be bitcoin $ 20,000? on: February 19, 2018, 11:55:34 AM
Seriously, am I the only one getting tried of the questions of if bitcoin will reach $20,000 or $25,000 at the end of some month? We should just learn to be perpared of whatever price bitcoin brings. It is either you hold on to your coins or you sell it off if you are too scared. We should only keep in mind that no one knows the exact price of bitcoin so no matter how we keep on asking; we can't get a fix price of it.
1326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Dying as a Payment Option? on: February 19, 2018, 09:43:30 AM
I soley prefer bitcoin been used as a form of investment than to been used as a payment option. This is because it might loss it value  and most certainly, having a high transaction fee. I don't know why those companies opt-out from using it but something tells me that it is because of the high transaction fee then. If we can have a low or stable TRX fee, then probably a lot of companies might opt in.
1327  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Market to ath again on: February 18, 2018, 11:31:15 PM
For me, I am not expecting any particular price or so. And this keeps me in sense. Because so far, since the unstable market we most times don't know what might come our way, so I advice you guys to learn to expect nothing and never be disappointed.
1328  Other / Meta / Re: What to do with Merit? on: February 18, 2018, 09:38:07 PM
I'm trying to give out merit points everywhere I see it's possible, to motivate people and remind them that they can give merit. Tho, it's a rather new system that's been implemented, can't expect it to work over night.
Higher rank with more merit should do this, giving merit to lower rank who are posting more constructive will gives good motivation and will boost their self esteem and will contribute well in this forum, hope many member will be like you.
On a normal sense, that is what we all hope for; for the higher members to give to lower members with high quality post some merits but the truth still remains that most higher ranks do not give it out or probably feel reluctant to do so. I have seen some posts from few junior members that deserve merit but no merit where given and low quality posts of higher member been given merit. I try my best to give out merits if I have but it will be nice if people here should try more. It will be good if things here are be fair.
1329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Western union confirms ripple on: February 18, 2018, 06:18:59 PM
where can you read the confirmation. i love to read news here but without a link or where we can read the real news ...

It's on the news

https://futurism.com/western-union-ripple-tests/

https://hacked.com/ripples-xrp-gaining-traction-western-union-confirms-partnership/

http://fortune.com/2018/02/14/ripple-xrp-western-union-money-transfers/

Check these link and also search on the mother of all search engine that is Google.
Cheers
Thanks for the links for confirmation purposes. Well, I don't think this is a great news because Ripple might be a great coin for some people, its not so for me. What most people don't know or understand is that Ripple is not a decentralized coin like bitcoin, though some people still argues it is not. If Western Union wanted to partner with a digital coin, they should have used bitcoin. Using Ripple makes this whole business looks fishy.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Relationships! on: February 18, 2018, 04:54:25 PM
I haven't been on that kind of relationship but i've seen couples here in our place both played gambling and I can say it's not that good coz sometimes they lost both and no one will stop them or atleast instruct them that it is wrong as they are both a gamblers.
That's it, its not advisable for couples to be gamblers together. It may sound sweet and cute but it is not wise. Apart from both been addictive and no one to help each other when they are lacking, it is not also good for couples whom are trying to save or start up a living with kids. I totally won't like my partner to be a gambler, causr it will definitely affect my future kids.
1331  Economy / Speculation / Re: How to spot Whale signs and signs of a coming crash? on: February 17, 2018, 09:12:45 PM
Well, like the people above me said, its no other thing than following them on twitter or any social media platform and watch their recent update. But the truth still remains that most updates from popular whales can still be missing leading because cryptocurrencies are most times kind of difficult to predict. As you follow them, also trust your own instinct. Never underestimate your guts.
1332  Economy / Economics / Re: Regulation of bitcoin: dream or Inevitable on: February 17, 2018, 06:07:40 PM
I think that regulation is something that is inevitable and more and more countries will decide to regulate Bitcoin in some way. But I don't think that regulation is equal to centralization. Bitcoin can be regulated and decentralized at the same time.
Regulation means seting some rules how Bitcoin should be treated, what is legal and what isn't, how it should be fitted into financial framework.
I think that regulation could strengthen Bitcoin and help it to be more accepted, we don't have to be afraid of that.
I totally disagree to that, regulation is not equals to decentralization but will finally lead it to centralization. The way most government view bitcoin is not the same we investors may view it. They may claim to regulate bitcoin but end up placing rules and law that will place bitcoin into the hands of the riches; there won't be normal circulation of bitcoin the way it is now.
1333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Ratings on: February 16, 2018, 10:55:56 PM
Try use the search feature or even just read the titles of other threads before creating a new one.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2243157.0

That's just 3 of the many threads to get you started. I'd suggest locking this thread (there's a lock in the bottom left) before it gets flooded with all of the same responses on these other threads.
Nice threads. You are probably right, he should consider locking thread but on a serious note, whatever advices that are been given won't help much this days because lately most ICOs scammers are now doing their job very perfectly, so its quite hard to dictate a scam one. In my own opinion, I think OP should go for cheap top listed coins in coinmarketcap site, he can still make his gains.
1334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever exchanged your Bitcoins through Localbitcoins? on: February 16, 2018, 08:49:37 PM

But why use zelle transfer,if it works like paypal then the transaction can also be disputed which could mean that bitcoin goes to the buyer and his USD be returned. what is better in this transaction is fiat in exchange of BTC. This is safe than  a payment system that can be used to scam.
Well, maybe its what the OP wanted to use, cause sometimes, paypal do have long protocols or even the 21 days holding. Moreover, I heard that PayPal are restricted for some countries; they can only send but can't receive money (we can really say why PayPal or any other alternative wasn't used). But the main point here is that, the zelle transfer might have been legal but the seller lied about it and got OP scammed.

It's even got to a point where I've considered changing banks because of that. A lot of the big traders in there recommend Wells Fargo since they still accept cash deposits onto someone else's account
Well, I hope you recover your stolen fund but I doubt it you will, just be careful next time. If possible stay away from localbitcoin but if you are lucky to find genuine seller, then good.
1335  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Egifter.com stole my credit card number on: February 16, 2018, 06:57:50 PM
Exactly what the writers above said, I don't  think its Egifter that stole your credit card because I have used them before but had no issues after that. Probably your system was compromised or infected with virus and then your credit card details was stolen. Or maybe you even visited a website and through it your card details was stolen. You know Google most times store users card details, probably it might have been stolen through that means too.
1336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever exchanged your Bitcoins through Localbitcoins? on: February 16, 2018, 03:55:46 PM
I've had terrible experiences in that website (4000$ stollen because of some fucker claiming that the zelle transfer was a fraud). Tell me about your experience!

I don't get what zelle transfer is.

I haven't tried making transaction on localbitcoin, don't have any accounts either but seeing there were crimes with it where one party robbed the other instead of exchanging. This is really a scary situation which is why this is something really not worth doing unless you do meet in the public place.
Zelle transfer is just like an online payment method where you can send and receive money in minutes, it works like Paypal, Venmo etc.
At OP, it's always hard to see a genuine seller in localbitcoin though there are few. Some of the sellers there with postive feedbacks are fake. There was a time I wanted to  purcahse bitcoin there, luckily the guy was busted and i found out he was a scam, could have losed my money. Localbitcoin used to be good before but not anymore. You just can't trust it and paxful .
1337  Economy / Speculation / Re: McAfee Speculation Thread on: February 15, 2018, 04:09:25 PM
Above all things he said the funniest and ridiculous of them all is when he said he will eat off his d*ck in the national TV regarding the pump of bitcoin price. The man is good though, but some of his advise and speculation is always on any coin or ICOs he invested in and not on what the coin is aiming to solve. Well, it will be nice to have him here, been a well known investor, there might be one or two things to learn from him.
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ٩(●̮̮̃●̃)۶GOOD ADVICE FROM BOUNTY HUNTER on: February 15, 2018, 02:14:28 PM
Nice thread OP, you really took a massive time to comply this  topic. Though I am not a fan of every new coins that springs out from ICOs because I don't understand the need to hunt for coins which will end up been a shitcoin.
Between, Where are the bounty hunters, they should get in here, they should really  take time to read these. Probably you should share this thread with a moderator, they might get it pinned in this section.
1339  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am quitting ICO's on: February 15, 2018, 12:41:22 PM
Seriously OP, I feel your points. Before, when I started my cryptocurrency journey, I was strictly Bitcoin but because of the love I have for Ethereum I decided to consider few ICOs which i was lucky enough; cause they became among the top listed coins now. If I tell you I wasn't very skeptical when I wanted to buy those tokens, then I am a liar. Out of 100% of ICOs created recently, 80% of them are purely scams.
1340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Btc question on: February 15, 2018, 10:18:29 AM
I may not be perfect with bitcoin technical issues but I think that you may have been blocked out from assessing your account more reason why you may be seeing the 'watch only' and why would you even give them/ he your login in details. And again, he is asking you to send another 1btc. I think the guy knows that you know nothing about BTC and he used the opportunity to scam you. Just know that when next you want someone to send you some bitcoin, you should only give them a bitcoin address not your login details
