1341  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do u think that the body governing need to re-strategize ? on: May 02, 2023, 06:17:20 PM
It is no longer news that cryptocurrency is not supported/accepted by governments of all countries. I want to believe that the body regulating these coins needs to re-strategize for better acceptance. I will like to have your views.

Correction, most countries and not all countries because we have some countries that are showing positive interest towards its adoption and about two has already adopted it. In regards to your question, are you talking about the government or the projects themselves? If you're referring to the government, their stand has already been voiced out a very long time ago when they started attacking the industry and made it look like a scam as they sabotage its growths but after all their attacks still the industry is doing just fine without their acceptance and soon they'll be the ones crawling back because the potential of the industry.

Only the countries that'll profit are those showing Bitcoin (and indirectly the general market) some love like El Salvador. Whenever any positive news comes out of El Salvador, it helps the entire market and not just Bitcoin especially when the sentiment of the market is already bullish. With time the government of the countries still fighting Bitcoin will realized what they're missing. Bitcoin adoption is imminent, it's just a matter of time before it explodes as the internet did in the late 1990's, we just have to wait and watch.
1342  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Your thoughts on crypto exhcnages. on: May 02, 2023, 06:00:44 PM
After I saw tread93's post on this forum about Binance, I started thinking about the role of crypto exchanges in adoption.

In my opinion, exchanges are great for people who want to try buying crypto and don't want to dig into a ditails. I think it helps more people to "experience" Bitcoin and I think most of them are then more to wallets when they realize how crypto actually works.

You're not wrong here, it doesn't matter if the exchange is a decentralized or centralized one, the fact is, exchanges are the intermediate between the government and the people and also to new investors coming into the industry and how they treat them betters alot and that's one thing Binance is good at doing which is why they're at the top of the food chain. Exchanges should do more of enlightenment than they're doing, they should constantly make their users aware of the risk of holding their coins on their platforms instead of telling their customers that their coins are safe on their platforms when they're not and that's my major problem with centralized exchanges.

Sure they have a role to play in cryptocurrency adoption but they shoudn't be misinforming this new gullible investors as they're the ones getting fooled by all this lies told by the exchanges of their coins been safe. It would had been great if they collectively enlightened their customers but they won't because of the fear of losing liquidity on their exchange platforms which goes to show how they care more about their profits than the wellbeing of their customers which is why centralized exchanges aren't to be trusted.
1343  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Please check your binance address on: May 02, 2023, 05:45:03 PM
Even if you fall to this issue and accidentally send your coins to an old address, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will lose them. Binance has mentioned this in their platform [2].

Nevertheless, I recommend that everyone should change their address and verify it to avoid encountering this problem in the future:)

I must applaud Binance exchange for providing this option, at first when I heard same news few weeks back, I didn't see this option and it got me wondering if those that mistakenly send coins to the previous addresses, will the coins be lost forward but after seeing this option it gives me some piece as although we're enlightening users here not to keep their coins on exchanges or store addresses to be used later, we still have those both on and off the forum that'll be guilty of this and having to know that they wont lose their coins to this upgrade is satisfying as it's painful to lose money you have worked so hard for just because of you not been informed.

Also this goes to show Binance isn't under any attack that demanded them to make changes to their deposit addresses because if it was an attack then the old addresses won't have been functional since they would had been compromised but from their explaining, the addresses are still functional but not advisable to be use to avoid complications. I believe this event will teach people valuable lesson most especially the victims that'll need extra service to recover their coins, at least they'll now learn to stay up to date and stop storing addresses to be reused especially those that come from a centralized wallet service providers like exchanges.
1344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: knowing the basic concept is enough for a beginner on: May 02, 2023, 04:15:00 PM
I just thought I could drop this piece of words of inspiration for my personal experience, before this time, I have been discouraged and pushed back from being active here in the forum even though I have been here since 2021, to be sincere with you guys each time I try to be more active and write some posts I always feel discouraged and afraid because I don't know what to say that will be interesting to my readers or having the needed technicality knowledge to make me stand out this feeling have affected my activeness in the past.

One mistakes many newbie make when they join the forum is that they think the best way to be engaging in the forum is to teach others but what do they have to educate others about which is why their post are usually laughable because they'll talking rubbish thinking they're making sense. This forum isn't for you educating others if you're not experienced. What you should be doing is leaning and if you put your mind to that then you can learn very fast and start helping the new members joining the forum. Most of us had no knowledge on Bitcoin or the cryptocurrency market in generally when we joined but because of our consistency we now have a vast majority of knowledge that others don't have.

We have very enlightened members on the forum so you shouldn't be thinking of what to post, instead you should be more interested in what to learn new each time you engage with the forum. Do so for something and the difference will be clear when you drop your responds to threads. Youbahbe to learn first before you can teach. Is okay knowing the basic but don't think you can build yourself here if you just want to rely on knowing only the basic, you have to push yourself to know more by first learning although don't wait until you have all the knowledge to start, start today.
1345  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Popular scams in crypto that investors should avoid on: May 02, 2023, 03:58:05 PM
Scams and frauds have been rampant in the crypto community for many years now. The crypto market, being relatively unregulated, has attracted so many scammers and  fraudsters. These criminals take advantage of the lack of knowledge among investors to leverage their schemes.

One of the most common scam is the Ponzi Scheme. I'm pretty sure most, if not all of us are very familiar with this scam.

Considering how unregulated cryptocurrency market is, I don't think there was ever a doubt of the market been safe from scam. The industry will always attract scammers since there are lots of vulnerable investors or wanna be investors in the market. We have so many people with lack of experience in investing parading themselves as professionals meanwhile they're losing secretly or been scammed. Ponzi scheme isn't the most common in cryptocurrency market, we hardly hear of a project collapse because they were a ponzi scheme, the last time I heard of such news in the industry was the bitconnect scam and that of Onecoin which wwre a long time ago.  What I think is most common is project selling a false reality tintehir investors.

There's so much money been lost to scam projects that rise funds through private funding, ICO and other means of crowdfunding and yet they just exit scam or stop development and nobody says anything. Each time we see a new trend, we begin seeing countless amount of project focusing on that particular trend but immediately the trend dies down then the project stop development and that's the major problem of the market. This is the scam people have to avoid, they have to stop chasing the hype or they'll end up losing all the money they intend investing in the market.
1346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream crypto adoption on: May 02, 2023, 03:28:08 PM
When small countries are serious in getting bitcoin, you can imagine the developed countries will be more concerned to get bitcoin before it's too late, or too expensive. There will be a race to get more and more bitcoin and bitcoins are not just enough for everyone due to their limited supply.

I don't think the big countries are doing the same, there's a reason this small countries are engaging themselves in new currency is because they want an advantage since the majority of the resources in the world are been controlled by very few countries and others are enslaved to them. If countries like the US were secreting mining, it could be used against them, the opposition party might use that against them in the upcoming election as the government not been environmental friendly since there has been concerned in regards to Bitcoin mining and climate changes. Mostly only the smaller countries can get away with secretly or openly endorsing Bitcoin for the time been.

Countries in Africa can also take advantage of this but they're been controlled by the world power countries so that won't be happening on a larger scale. They're forgetting if they can get a system that works best for them without relying on Europe or China to bail them out of every economical problem they enter, that it'll be best for the country that way. Mainstream adoption isn't happening as much as I would had wished, my country currently has a ban on the trading and use of Bitcoin officially in the country. Infact if you're seen engaging this industry you would be a potential target to law enforcement agency as a potential scammers and get harassed.
1347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is improving I guess? on: May 02, 2023, 03:04:46 PM
We are more likely to experience better end of the year, as of last two weeks Bitcoin was $23,000 but I can see some impressive changes hopefully the ends or mid of the year will make significant changes in price. Though am not excited much because  even if it pumps I might not enjoy the fat price, I bought when the price is high but now you will pity my wallet. Anyway we're sure of better 2023.

You don't have to guess because that's exactly what's happening, the market is improving and so is Bitcoin. The future is bright that's all I have to say, bitcoin has had more dump before than what it experience in the bear market yet the situation wasn't as bad as what we experience in 2021 that on different occasions I thought we might be dumping back to below $10,000 but that didn't happen and it means the market is holding strong. Just to remind you that a top teir exchange collapse yet the market didn't dump as much as we were all expecting and multiple projects also collapse and just few months later, here we're all been positive about the price of Bitcoin, that's to show you how much the market has grown.

2022 is just like 2018 of previous cycle and others so we all know when there is spring there will also be a winter so it's just expected but as always people claimed okay this is the end even in 2023 when Bitcoin was around 18K for long time then suddenly it's now at 30K which is almost 100% growth in no time and this kind of rise we may not witness in the traditional investment field.

There's no lie in this statement as both years were one of the bloodiest years of the market. I remember very well in 2018 that many people thought the market might never recover because the price dump was so impactful as many didn't expect the market to dump that much as there were so much positivity the year before which saw many altcoins and bitcoin as well reach incredible new prices that printed new millionaire. Just as the market recovered from the 2018 bear market, I have no doubt we'll be doing it again this time around.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: May 02, 2023, 02:11:01 PM
I don't think Ronaldo is ready to end his player career at the moment. He wants to return to Europe that is normal with such a high ambitious player but I believe he will aim at a club which can help him to play in Champions League.

In the contract with Al Nassr, there is a term which allows Ronaldo to join Newcastle United if they are eligible for Champions League. It seems Newcastle United will get it after this season ending as they temporarily have a good position in Premier League and good gaps with competitors like Tottenham and Liverpool.

Ronaldo can't end his career yet and he knows that, the moment he ends his career while messi is still playing, he stands a chance to lose every leverage he had over messi when the goat debate is been discussed. At the mommy he's leading with just feels goals as and going to Barcelona or any other clubs that actually knows how to play football will surpassed Ronaldo's on no time. Ronaldo also needs to comeback to the champion league. What's he's doing at Al Nassr isn't been appreciated even with all the goals he has scored for the club. I ree rival fans disrespecting him countless amount of time and that's something they shouldn't be doing for a player like Cristiano Ronaldo that's helping their local league by playing there.

If Newcastle gets a spot in the champions league wish I strongly believe they'll be able to achieve, Ronaldo should pack his bag and return to the premier league atleast this time he won't be doing so with the wrong side and when he returns to the premier league, he has to refused to be the center of attention even though the media would want to make it look so. He has to allow the Newcastle team to play as they played this season while just been an extra hand to push them and guiding the players with his experience. He has to start playing like he's old and not think he still has the same strength as Haaland.
1349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 02, 2023, 01:59:55 PM
You are very correct, like I said even before they end up loosing their first position to Manchester city, they (Arsenal) are in the very tight spot, and that spot is even tighter right now, Manchester city is ahead of them with just one point, and looking at Chelsea's performance since this season began, I think tomorrow's game is another great chance Arsenal have to try and reclaim their first position back by beating Chelsea, if they fail to beat chelsea tomorrow, even I myself will stop being an Arsenal fan.

With the bad form Chelsea has been on lately, I don't see how they'll be winning against Arsenal considering how desperate they're to return to the top of the table, they have now lost their leverage against Manchester city and winning Chelsea is the only way they can keep the hopes high of winning the premier league. Chelsea on the other hand are Arsenal rivals and it's going to be hard for them to just seat down and let arsenal win them, they're also looking for a game that'll give them some confidence to end the season with the head high. I have a feeling this is going to be a very tough match but still I give arsenal the win.

Arsenal still has something to fight for the season but Chelsea season has already ended as they won't be getting any champions league competition and neither the europa as well. Arsenal has an advantage over Chelsea as they have more attacking players this season meanwhile nobody understands what's happening at Chelsea but I think a new manager with the right mentality can solve all the issue at Chelsea in no time, Lampard just isn't the guy for the job and that's becoming obvious as the games go by.

E NO GO EVER BETTER FOR YOU AND YOUR GENERATIONS IF YOU USE YAHOO MONEY BUILD HOUSE OR TRAIN CHILDREN AND FAMILY THAT SAME THING YOU USE PEOPLE'S MONEY DO GO CAUSE YOUR DEATH WITH MUCH SORROW AND PAIN HERE IN THIS WORD.

Although the yahoo boys wey we get today no dey try at all, now dem dun dey target locals and that one na very big problem. How you go dey thief food from poor man hand, that one no make sense although I no dey support the white man scamming but scamming your own brother is a no for me. 1351  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Opinion] Why translated topics are still on a single thread? on: May 01, 2023, 06:51:48 PM
Having said that, me i no even sure say we need this translation topics at all, it is just topics wey dey fish for merits (na wetin me i think be that), i don see say Brainboss don lock the single translation thread, but omoh me i suggest say if e go bring spam na to stop translation topics outrightly for the board,

All this been follow for the reason why I been direct anything translation to one thread because we all know the reason behind the translation, na to find merit and since e dey hard people to get you no go spoil wetin dem they talk survive. Due to the cordination of this place I doubt if e go result to spam but if it does we know what to do. Na those newbies dem wey dey rush go translate some careless threads go be our problems and some don't even take permission from the original owners which is very wrong. Everything na try and see until we get the correct thing so make we see hwi this one go go.

If e no generate spam, we go keep am as e dey but if spam come board then we go return to them putting all their translation for one thread as e been dey from the very beginning. Make una no too vex for the translator, na there dem dey see their own merit, make we no ban am as e go spoil show for dem. For now there hasn't been a valid reason to stop translation on the board so make we just see as e go be. Ones again all suggestions are welcome and we go reason am as a community, anyone wey make better sense we implement am asap.

1353  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of such ads on Instagram & Facebook! on: May 01, 2023, 06:18:07 PM
I am still surprised why Meta does not make any effort to remove this type of content, even though they have enough capabilities, resources and technology to curb this fraud, if not reduce the fraud rate to zero.
The scammers are also lazy and their methods are easy to learn, however Meta leaves all the side to the users who waste their life effort believing these ads.

Does meta actually care about their users wellbeing, aren't they the same company selling their customers data to the highest bidders on the market and constantly tapping our device to find information they can use to make their service better (as they said) meanwhile we know the real reason behind them tapping our devices. A company that doesn't care about their customers privacy shoudn't be trusted and that's why I don't believe any ads I see on Facebook or any of their sister platforms like Instagram etc.

Meta only care about their revenue which is why they'll accept anyhow ads without doing their due diligence, and then instead of them using that revenue generated to improve their services, they'll use the money in focusing on the wrong things like lobbing persecutors to try to takedown their competitors like tiktok by labelling them the bad guys meanwhile it's facebook (sorry meta) that has been found guilty on numerous occasions of security breaches. OP nice update, people should just avoid meta platforms ads entirely to stay safe.
1354  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The two ways to invest in bitcoins. on: May 01, 2023, 06:02:30 PM
There are only two ways to invest in bitcoins from some topics I have read in this forum, to buy a big amount of bitcoins once and to buy small amounts regularly according to a plan.

Buying big - Although this is generally not advised, I think buying big can be good if you can afford to buy big and then follow up with adding small amounts to what you have. Buying big will help you get a good amount of bitcoins quickly.

How's this not advisable? If you have the money and don't want to stay updated with the market and also have very long term plans for your investment, you don't have to follow the DCA rule. You can just buy and lock them away in your private wallet. Let say I want to buy Bitcoin and hold for 10 years or more, you don't expect me to DCA when I'm a very busy man. I'll just buy as much as I can buy now that the price is very low and hold as both  DCA and buying with one purchase is all okay provided you understand the risk of both strategy.

DCA could make you miss buying Bitcoin when the price is very low, let assume bitcoin never goes below $30k again, it means you would had missed the chance of getting bitcoin this low while purchasing one time would be giving you the advantage of having more unit due to the low price. The reverse is the case if the price falls further than it is, in this scenario the users buying through DCA is at more advantage than anyone who purchased Bitcoin one time. Both strategy have their advantages and disadvantages.
1355  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would the Bitcointalk Forum be like without Signature Campaigns? on: April 30, 2023, 09:16:43 PM
Therefore, I ask, what would the forum be like without signature campaigns?

Would it be more sanitized?
Would it be less filled with spams?
Would there be fewer alternate accounts?

I'll start with the last question, before I go on I want to clarify that the forum isn't against multiple accounts and neither is theymos and the administration of the forum too, what we're against are those using that privilege of having multiple accounts to abuse the forum or use them to try to scam anybody on the forum by manipulating their reputation. Signature has a  big contributions to the forum and without it been active, there'll be so much reduction in the activeness of the forum and that's a fact.  Obviously the forum would be more sanitizer and there'll be less spam and also alternative accounts since there's no need to get one to double your chances of higher payout.

I can't imagine bitcointallk without signature campaign and if there was to be a time that the forum won't have one, I won't be in support and that's not just because I'm benefitting from it but because we're in the 21st century and monetizing our content on social media is now a thing so the forum shoudn't be taking that away from her members instead we should be looking for ways to put hands together to make it better and less destructive if it becomes more damaging that spams and plagiarism become a norm.
1356  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will you sell because of situations? on: April 30, 2023, 08:56:55 PM
This story is pathetic, the man who introduce me to bitcoin, his kid sis was knapped 2 weeks now and the kidnappers are asking for a huge ransom of  N10 Million Nigeria currency but the whole thing looks like a plan work from some people close to him because many people know him to be crypto dealer. Now this money is never available anywhere, the man's only option is to sell his bitcoin and even if he does is not up to the amount. Do you advise he sells and bail his kid sister?  Everybody is confuse.

But did they ask for the ransom to be paid in Bitcoin, if they didn't then I don't think this has to do with them knowing he's a crypto trader. Assuming they asked specifically for Bitcoin then we'll know the kidnappers were fully informed of the job of the victim. Kidnapping is a very lucrative business in Nigeria, the authorizes don't care much about this incidents anymore unless there's a high citizens involved like politicians or business man so bets the man who look for how to resolved the issue himself. If it has to be him selling his Bitcoin the. He should do that immediatetly and get the money to get his loved ones safe.

This kidnappers are very dangerous in this region as if you don't do as they say then you might never see your love one again, there has been cases of kidnappers trafficking their victims when their families don't respond to their demans. Most kidnapping incident that was uncovered has usually been traced back to the victims family or close friends as they were always insider job and I won't be surprised if this case is also an inside job. The victim shouldn't depend on the government instead he should do everything possible to get his kid even though he has to sell his Bitcoin, that's why I'll do.
1357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: April 29, 2023, 08:05:01 PM
I feel Real Madrid are at the brink of being dethroned from the Champions League title this season. Just watch the spectacular performance of Manchester city this season, you’ll only support that  Manchester city will win the champions league title this season. Pep once said, the only reason he hasn’t won the champions league with Manchester city is because Real Madrid is always there. But I’m sure this season, the feeling is not the same and Manchester city will be able to challenge Real Madrid to victory in this Champions League semifinals.

I heard Pep Guardiola is curse, atleast that's what podcaster say due to his misunderstanding with Yaya Touré and his agent way back, maybe this is the year to break that curse since their next opponents aren't in their best shape compared to other seasons. Real Madrid can't defeat Manchester city, they are desperate for the champion league trophy. Pep Guardiola and his boys has won everything locally and now they want to dominate Europe and to do that they have to win the champion league before moving on to win other competition that comes as a result of winning the champions league.

I just hope Haaland gets the ballon d'Or that he'll truely deserve after Manchester city achieved all this and not ghosting messi that has been silent since his one months glory at the world cup that were just filled with favored penalty he scored. I just feel if any club can defend the champions league trophy in this post Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi era, it has to be Pep Guardiola boys and to achieve that, they first have to win the competition which they'll be doing by eliminating their biggest competition which is Real Madrid.
1358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 29, 2023, 07:10:09 PM
Ngolo Kante's performance this season has been very less of the outstanding performances he's had since he joined Chelsea and that's understandably because of the injury that laid him off for a very long time but that doesn't stop Ngolo Kante from being one of the best midfielders in the world.
Chelsea's failure to qualify for UEFA Champions League football next season will seriously affect the future of their players. Not all of them would want to play for a club who will not be participating in the club football's most prestigious competition. So even if Barcelona fails to get the signature of Kante, he might still go to another big club

There are rumors of all Chelsea players taking a 30% pay cut since they won't be having a spot at the champions league next season and this I think will be among the major reason many players will be leaving the club next season. Football in this modern ages is all about money and no players really carries that love for the club narrative anymore because the club can always fail you at anytime, take a look at the situation with Mason mount, he's a grassroots Chelsea blood but the club doesn't care since he isn't accepting their offer. Same thing can happen to anyone, gone are the days why players had an advantage if they put the club first, now they have to put themselves.

Kante should take the offer, he has done his time at Chelsea and now he's basically worthless to the team since he's always absent due to his injury problem. The current Kante can't hold any club midfield defense in the premier league as he isn't 100 percentage fit. The medical team at Chelsea are a joke, they don't know how to manage injured players, Reece James is having same issue which is poor management and that's why they can't perform as they were previously before the injuries.
1359  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc on: April 29, 2023, 06:42:08 PM
People mind are already made up but since we're just sharing opinions on this thread, this is mine, previously, it was assumed that when accounts change hands through buying, it was to scam people on the forum with the reputation the account had with the previous owner but from the looks of things now, scamming isn't much of the threat on the forum anymore as people are getting more educated and informed. In recent days accounts now change hands through account buying for the purpose of earning through signature campaign or bounties. So how about we focus on removing those privilege from the accounts caught for this offense and this way we won't be destroying the accounts.

The moderates could disactivate the accounts when reported just as they did with plagiarism offenders that were found to be quality contributors of the forum. They can make the account not qualified to participate in signature or avatar campaign since the tagging doesn't stop them from joining campaigns as we have managers that doesn't care about our community guidelines and this current punishment just turns those accounts into spammers as I have noticed with lots of tagged bought accounts. Also to clear the air, I'm not supporting accounts buying but suggesting we try something else or isn't it the reason behind this thread creation @yahoo62278?
1360  Economy / Reputation / Re: Changed language in history. Bought? Hacked? on: April 29, 2023, 06:18:29 PM
I have no ideal what is going on. One ideal is costing 8 accounts.

They used to travel Nigeria and these sorts of countries to preach Christianity. Now bitcointalk members are taking over the religion and going to preach English.

That shouldn't be a reason to connect 8 accounts just because they made a mistake that's very common in the country (you think I'm joking check my posting history and and I have also used those words in the wrong places but I meant no harm and sometimes it's just Google chrome been stupid as it autocorrect my world incorrectly. I know how many times I had to stop to correct the auto-correct (funny right). There are so many words we Nigerians misplaced for each other when writing and it could be as a result of we writing fast and when we crosscheck by reading, since they words would sound the same, it won't be noticable to us.

Although english is widely spoken in the country, we have more good English speakers than writers, our common alternative which is pidgin and sounds very similar to English gets in the way when we're reading and make us not to notice the mistakes we made. I can go into giving some examples of the words that are usually been misplaced because I see them often on the forum from my brothers and I sometimes make the mistakes myself but that's a story for another day.

Ps: Sad this user/account is in this mess, he was quite an active user of the just approved Nigerian board, I just hope the tags doesn't stop you from been active on the board.
