1381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 04, 2022, 01:44:23 PM
Kai Sotto is still in his 20 years of age and surely he needs to build up muscles for other teams to notice him that much this he is bulkier than Golden State's Patrick Baldwin jr. and I think if he could acquire faster momentum and get used to his surrounding he can surely play like Kevin Durant in my opinion, and I think my boy Kai Sotto will surely improve so much because he still has a lot of ceiling to fit up too,

Playing like KD will be too much of an ask for the young guy. First, they play a totally different position. Second, you need to have extreme handling skills to be able to reach KD's level. They may be near in height, but KD is a totally different beast. He already improved a lot based on his recent games. He is not sluggish anymore and has better positioning under the ring. Another year of experience and we may see an NBA level of skills on Kai if he does not stop training and improving his game. The body that he needs will naturally follow if he continues to improve and mature.

Let's only think of that once Kai gets to the NBA, he was not even drafted yet, so our expectation is too much. The good thing with him is that he keeps improving, if he will become a superstar in the NBL, that's where he will get a good chance to be in the NBA.
1382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 04, 2022, 12:41:50 PM

The long wait for the fans will now happen this week as Bay Area Dragons will now face a considered top team in the league which is Brgy. Ginebra.

Their tip-off will happen on Sunday, at 6:45 PM, PH Time, and I'm expecting a huge crowd for this game.

They should have set it on Mall of Asia Arena instead of PhilSports Arena. Smiley A good game to watch live.
It's Sunday so I guess I expect more audiences to watch the game.
Now with regards to "huge crowd" thing-y, I don't think that it's the same as what we are thinking. When we watch Ginebra games, most of the times, there are a huge crowd, and the arena is almost full right? I don't expect it to happen again.

I'm not a pessimistic and I'm watching PBA as well but with the recent drama happened to PBA and these unbalanced trades, there might be some PBA fans out there who don't watch it anymore because of how the league is doing right now. Some might prefer watching other leagues. I watch the Meralco-Ginebra last Sunday and whenever I watch PBA games, I always look at the crowd and it's not the same as it was 1-2 years ago before the pandemic. Well, this is only my observation, and I will be happy if the Ginebra Fans will prove me wrong.

I guess there are only a few crowds who watch the game, also, the live streaming viewers are very small, it did not even reach 100k if I'm not mistaken. Maybe because it's not a playoffs yet, fans will be more interested in the playoffs than in the regular games.
1383  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it best to have a personal trading strategy? on: October 03, 2022, 09:51:20 PM
Just sticking to one strategy is not a good idea since it can't be perfect so you have to try other methods or strategies to find the best one. What works for one trader may not work for you, so be careful copying other trader's strategies. Instead of a personal trading strategy, I wanna call it a unique feeling of what, when, and how it will gonna happen. It can be a trend, pattern, timing, leverage, etc. After a few years in the trading world, the trader becomes more skilled with personal trading strategy/feeling market and the 10000 screen time rule proves why traders are asked for this experience. Just get that experience and make awesome bonuses on trading firms in case of you don't have enough capital to invest for life.
Making our own strategy will certainly not work instantly and a reason why we have to do trial and error is that it takes time to develop in order to work it probably but along with that, we somehow spend a lot of money in order to get tested. Maybe it was not a problem if you really have enough money to spend doing this but if you don't have, following other strategies that had worked already seems ideal. For me, I'd rather make a choice of it rather than spend a lot of time and money making our own and also don't have any assurance that it will succeed.
1384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can whitepaper still shows the weakness of a project and their team on: October 03, 2022, 12:07:11 PM
in the whitepaper, it is clear how the development of their project in the future. in the whitepaper, their vision and mission must be clear. In addition, you need to clearly see that the whitepaper follows what project, if it is a large project, it might be useful and develop in the future, but they need to differentiate with more advanced project development. however, if it's a whitepaper from a failed project, then it's best to stay away from it.
After all, Whitepaper is the thing they will do in the project. if they really don't really care about their project, then they will show weakness in the whitepaper.
Not really the thing I consider when choosing the project because there are a lot of things that we need to see. In fact, a whitepaper can be full of lies, you can't just simply think that it will be followed, not even the roadmap. This is not actually the basis to tell the weakness and strength of the project but rather rely on the output of their developments. Because it was useless to see and read such a promising whitepaper but lack of executions as it will still end nothing.
1385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 03, 2022, 11:59:01 AM

They can easily cancel the bet and bring all the money back to the early bettors in-case the fight got cancelled to whatever reason.

Of course, bookies can do that, putting an early lines would attract bettors, and they can even use the money of the early bets, that's in their favor too. Well, hopefully it will not be cancelled but there should be no issue betting early even if there's no announcement yet.
1386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 03, 2022, 10:33:00 AM
I wonder where is Andray Blatche now, he has contributed a lot in the past years with Gilas. The other naturalized player that the Gilas have since that player will replace Clarkson is Kouame. I think that having Brownlee in the pool is a good addition, I'm thinking about the possible chemistry and confidence that he's got since he has played with Filipino teammates ever since.

Maybe he is still playing in some international leagues, and he is also old now with the age of 35 years old. The Gilas were the better team with him, but not only because of him, it's because they have a  good coach who knows how to use the players.
1387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 30, 2022, 01:45:03 PM
Clarkson with the Lakers will be good for the team and his career too. He can be a perfect alternative when Bron and AD take their rest. He can even play in the first five to confuse the opposing team's defense. Schroder, Clarkson, Bron, and AD together in the court would be offensively deadly.

Schroder + Clarkson might be a bad idea to share the same court. One of them should serve as a backup role and not play together.

Clarkson + Westbrook is more effective since they don't share the role.

But this is just a speculation as their chemistry will just be seen once the season started.

That would work if there's a chemistry, before Clarkson get the 6th man of the year award, he was underperforming with the Cleveland Cavaliers, not because he is not good but because of the lack of chemistry, and I'm sure fans are surprised for his impressive performance with the Jazz.

Clarkson was a Lakers player before, he was good but not good enough, because of the chemistry issue and probably the design of plays does not fit him.
1388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 30, 2022, 01:16:32 PM
Less than 10 days before this fight but still, my favorite bookies have not put the betting odds yet on their site, will come back three days before the fight as that's the usual time they put odds on unpopular boxers.

Yes, I have noticed too that this fight is still not listed on most crypto sportsbooks. I don't know the basis but there are even unpopular boxers there that were already listed but this fight, even though this is a title fight, is still not listed yet.

You are correct there that usually, it's around 2-3 days before the fight as the usual timeframe for a fight like this to be listed on crypto bookies.

No choice but to wait then. Just for fun, what's your preview about the odds? For me, Martinez is at 1.8 while Ancajas is at 2.5.

Don't worry about the odds, for sure odds will be available days from now. Let us not be mislead by the available odds that would appear if we search in google because it's the old odds, and it was Ancajas who are the heavy favorites, this time for sure would not be the same.
1389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto's Metaverse projects are looking good now on: September 30, 2022, 10:21:30 AM
Is it not a work in progress? The graphics and design is laughable but maybe Zuckerberg will change it at the later stages? It could be a test to know the reaction of the people. But it could be intentional to make it plain and very ordinary so even old people that are not following the new trends of technology can get it. By making its metaverse simple, it is also not irritating to our eyes night or day. But we will just follow on what is next. Many of us are laughing but we do no really know the reason behind it.
I've preferred to see it simple but having an entertaining design for this will absolutely attract new users. I presume that Zuckerberg will be able to see the feedback from the community as this will help them more. I know it was still under study but somehow, it had a huge impact that needs attention as this will give away an idea of which design is more acceptable, otherwise it is never be appreciated.

But on the other side, it was at least we see metaverses are doing good for now and changing their direction to a better one. I was looking forward as well.
1390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How mentally prepared are you? on: September 29, 2022, 12:34:04 PM

It is very common that most beginners feel so lazy to know about bitcoin before going into investment . They acquire bitcoin without any little knowledge, when they are unable to bear the dip in the market it becomes a problem to them that affect them mentality .beginners needs to know about volatility of bitcoin and how to survive with it.
It was common for those who are born lazy and had no interest to improve their lives.
Investment as we all know is not for everyone and only a few people know exactly what they are doing than those who are not. I have to accept that I was not mentally prepared for investing in crypto and besides, I was also in doubt at first. Well, changing the course of our minds and the willingness to change our behavior make is possible, and this is what I am today.
1391  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of bitcoin rise again? on: September 28, 2022, 10:39:23 PM
Well I think the price of bitcoin will rise again it is just when will it rise again that we dont know. HODL is my motto because I am a true believer and I have been a true believer for long time.

I’ve always believed in BTC for the long term and always said there was going to be volatility on our way to 100k just when is the thing we dont know.  My prediction is that in the year 2025 the price of 1 btc will be 100k to 150k in price.

Well, considering that there is a continuous market demand for Bitcoin, we have to think prices will certainly be moving up in a few years from now. It was just the thing that we don't know when. However, we can't urge people to think the same as we think about Bitcoin in the future knowing that not all have a positive mindset.

Yes, as we believe this will happen (increase), holding during the bear season is what we need to do. And also, take this opportunity to accumulate more before we enter the next halving as surely prices will tend to move high.
1392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: regulating cryptocurrency on: September 28, 2022, 10:12:22 PM
Why are many governments not regulating cryptocurrency?
Mang government still banned cryptocurrency and not regulating it. The reason for this is that they think that if cryptocurrency is legalized, activities like money laundering will increase in the country and dishonest people of the country will be able to easily do bad things like money laundering outside the country without the eyes of the government. Therefore, many countries' governments and countries' central banks are still afraid of Bitcoin. that's why many governments not regulating cryptocurrency

Whether banned or not, those social evils will never end and cannot be prevented, criminals will always find new ways to do it. Most governments are drafting regulations for cryptocurrencies instead of outright banning them because they realize it is impossible to stop its development. The enacted regulations will also benefit the government with a large source of taxes and thanks to these regulations, they will have tighter control over their citizens and their finances. For investors like us, this is a tight squeeze on privacy but this will help the market grow as scams get better under control.
It is the privacy and taxes concerns that make people against regulating crypto but if we see the other side and its purpose, it is somehow we can appreciate the idea of bringing on it to the crypto world. What I am just worried about is how the implementations are imposed, this gonna be a problem for might this is start abusing holders and investors which leads to higher taxes. I hope not but can't really expect good from this, especially in corrupt governments.
1393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 28, 2022, 12:18:10 PM

I think this fight is a already a go even if there is no contract sign yet. Too big not to happen, Inoue wanted to get all the belts, while Butler wanted to derail all his plans. The fight is still in December though, lot of time to prepare for this huge fight in Japan.

There's no reason this fight will be cancelled, with the ample time, both fighters will be able to prepare to give the fans an entertaining fight. However, we cannot prevent the majority from thinking Inoue will just dominate here, I hope Butler has something that would surprise the fans, if this will become a big upset, we will surely see a rematch.
I also don't think that this fight is going to be cancelled. Maybe they just have to sign the the contract in the dotted line. And since there have ample time, they might be just waiting for everything to be well written before they accept specially Butler since he is the one who is going to travel to Japan. And his team needs to know that everything will be secure including the venues and purse split and maybe a rematch clause, just to make sure that Inoue can get back his title, if he lost this fight.
Both fighters wanting to watch each other, so they will not cancel this fight. Remember that it's an undisputed championship, it's the biggest fight in a certain division, so let us not think negative, this fight is gonna happen and both will be prepared.
1394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 28, 2022, 11:20:39 AM
The game between Ginebra and ROS is very surprising, there's no way Ginebra will be able to come back in this game.

ROS now is leading the game with 49-72, and it seemed like Brownlee has been struggling with only 14 points so far.
I'm sure everyone has put their bet on Ginebra, but sorry guys, it's an upset tonight.
1395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All I need to teach my employees about Bitcoin on: September 27, 2022, 10:13:53 PM
Saving your funds than earnings more important. If you haven't been using any gateway to receive payment then try to use hardware wallets. It's good practice for crypto and your funds are fully secure. You can't teach your guy in a single day. Teach day by day and chapter by chapter. It's very important to learn double spending scams, so you won't have to lose. For that just make sure the transaction got 1 confirmation at least. So you are in a safe zone.
It won't take so long if the only purpose is to teach his employees how to receive and store securely the funds which I think is the only part they need to learn. For as long as they are interested to learn and could make their job well, they should have to do it. But of course, it was easier to hire people that also have some knowledge in crypto for they are possibly aware of the risk in handling transactions otherwise, OP will spend his time the whole day, unrested just to monitor the whole transactions every day.
1396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 27, 2022, 12:42:01 PM
PBA really making a huge noise a lot of drama to gather attentions maybe they are trying anything to gain those interests from the viewers. They are following the saying that even negative publicity is still a publicity, hahaha Grin Roll Eyes kidding aside, My personal take on that note is very possible, PBA is controlled by SMC and MVP they can simply request for that schedule to see how the visiting team play and scout them to make sure that they are well prepared before they met.

If this issue will be proven, surely the interest of those possible additional visiting teams will be lesser. They might not take that effort to join with the league that fully manipulated.

Manipulating the game schedules is too much and i don't think they did that because as per observation, it is usually the teams that exited early on the last conferences will have to play a game or two before the teams that have played on the semi-finals and finals of that conference, might be a sort of favor for them to extend their rest period.

Tomorrow, Ginebra will be playing against ROS, let us see if the arena will be filled.

If it's Sunday the Arena may be filled, but since tomorrow is Wednesday, I think they will not be able to fill the stadium. As long as the game is exciting, it will not only entertain the fans that are going to the venue, but also the fans watching the game live on their TV and those who watch through live streaming.
1397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your diversification strategy? on: September 27, 2022, 12:19:24 PM
What just I did is that I discard coins that are not profitable anymore. I sacrifice myself losing a few bucks rather than waiting for many years for nothing but just a few cents. I usually check my portfolio quarterly and when I notice that there is an improvement, I started to look for coins that are not growing and replace them. That was not a hard task though...

Well, it was a good idea to check our investment very often so we are aware of what direction our portfolio is going and we can make some adjustments earlier rather than holding coins that are not contributing something.
1398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 27, 2022, 11:44:10 AM
I have read news that the Celtics players were caught off guard about Ime Udoka's case. Majority of them found the news in twitter like Jayson Tatum and so they are confused.

And then they are talking about how excited they are to come back this new season to do it all over again and duplicate what they have accomplished - go to the finals. But it seems that the players are affected by it and they are taking about the 'process', as they will be coach by Joe Mazzulla.

Well, they have no choice but to accept the reality, no more Udoka this season and probably the succeeding seasons as well, but they have a job to do, it's an unfinish job, they reach the NBA finals, it's time for them to win this time.

There's plenty of time to make the adjustment, the current coach is the assistant, so I'm pretty sure he is very much aware of the system and he just need to implement it, we were impressed by Udoka's performance last season, but he made a big mistake, so he has to face the consequences.
1399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 26, 2022, 11:36:29 AM
On the other hand, it looks like Tolentino going to the NorthPort is really a good move because he and Bollick are the top scorers of team right now. If he will continue, Tolentino will be the one who help Bollick offensively and after a few years, SMC and MVP will try to get him "again". Ooops!! Tongue.

I think this team is not a farm team but they cannot just match the offer of big teams.

Well, they need to play harder, they have a good line up now, good import, and a good coach that has a play that would allow everyone to play. Tolentino is just a talented player, but since he is now with the Northport, he now has more opportunities to help his team win.

Unfortunately they are since they just wait for the player to ripe before they can harvest those young stars. Also I will not get surprised if Bollick will be out on North Porth and go to either on SMC or MVP group because this is what mostly happen to their stars recently. If PBA management will change their current structure maybe they can get back the interest of their fans since if they continue to make this actions and will not care the fans sentiment then provably the interest might shift to other league and for sure this will be the start of their fall down.

Lots of superstars from this team before that was taken by SMB, some good example are.

1- Cabagnot
2- Romeo
3- Pringle.

They also won a championship already on their respective teams after North port, so you are right, we should not be surprise to see Bollick out in this team and will be playing in the best team in the PBA, either SMB or Ginebra, I guess.
1400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 26, 2022, 10:43:26 AM
^ He might be a slight underdog, but for me it's better if he will be a huge underdog here, so that it's a win-win situation for Ancajas supporters in terms of bet  Grin.

And maybe if he knows that he become the underdog here, it could added a extra motivation for him, some fuel to the fire and think that he really have to show up and be the champion again. A knock out win will be good. But if it doesn't come, and at the end of the fight he is declared the winner then nothing is going to affect on how we look at it. But it shouldn't be a boring fight (although Filipinos are not known to run, we are all warriors), and then we will see what will his next move is.

Agree with. It's good to place a bet on something that we really like to and the odds for it are worth placing a bet on.

Besides, regardless of the odds or how strong Martinez is compared to Ancajas, there's no way I will bet for the former for an obvious reason. But honestly, even though I'm looking forward to Ancajas winning this match, I still see Martinez still has the upper hand in this fight.

That's why on the day of the match, I want Ancajas to go all-out and reclaim the title that he defend several times in his career.

He did that in their first meeting, it's just unfortunate that he got exhausted easy and that's the reason why he lose power. Despite of that, he was able to survive but unable to win the fight for the obvious reason. Maybe he needs to play smarter this time, be more technical than just going all out war.
