1421  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: about cryptocurrency on: December 06, 2022, 07:43:15 PM
I'm really curious about what you all think about cryptocurrency. I've been wanting to start investing in it for a while now, but I feel like I don't know enough about it to make good decisions. Do you have any advice?
My advice might not be among the best and it might also not be acceptable by you and majority of the people in this forum but I will still have to give the advice in case you may consider it.
If you feel that you do not understand much about bitcoin and cryptocurrency I will advise you to keep your money intended for investment and first learn about cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, it will not take forever.
A good attention given to It for 1 to 2 weeks will give you what you need to start. Only when you have good knowledge of the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large you can invest. There will always be an investment opportunity in the market
1422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should be my fear? on: December 06, 2022, 07:34:30 PM
As a newbie who has a little knowledge of cryptocurrency but much interest in purchasing bitcoin for a long time Hodl, since the purchasing capital is not included in my spendable budget and the price of bitcoin is not very high at the moment 16k, what should be my fear?

Pls, advise me.
You wouldn't have had any fear assuming you don't have the money to invest and also you wouldn't have had any fear if you didn't intend to hold your bitcoin for a very long time. Now that you have the money to invest and have decided to hold the Bitcoin for a very long time and additionally you acknowledge that the price of Bitcoin is cheap now, the fear that you should be afraid of is the fear of regret. How you will cry about not using this opportunity of today may be in 5 years time

I just see poll wey dey ontop this our thread. I no just like that poll at all. This one or two rules we wan introduce no go help the growth of this our local board at all. Now wey the spirit don high, na em we wan come dull the spirit? Our page for this thread never even reach common 300pages, our activity still dey low and we wan introduce rule wey go discourage people to post.

We never even get our local board we don already dey discriminate some posts as low quality. We fit no understand wetin wan happen, but I don see am say e no go help us at all. E no compulsory say na bitcoin we go dey talk here.

1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 04, 2022, 07:46:52 PM
Little spectacle seen at the moment at England - Senegal. It will take some time for both teams to get going. Senegal is a dangerous opponent because they are physically fit. England has much more quality, but perhaps less quality than France. If you compare the vanguard of England with that of France, the big difference is the name Mbappe. England has Kane, but he is of a lower and different level than Mbappe. Mbappe can shoot France to the world title and has already won tonight. England will have a hard time against Senegal tonight I suspect.
I am worried that even if England wins the game, Senegal will be a tough opponent because of how well-complicated their team is. Senegal has a group of players who are strong and have some experience, though not as much as England's players do. After 30 minutes of play, neither team has scored a goal. Senegal has already attempted two shots on goal while England has attempted just one.

If it is the quality of individual players, England is better than Senegal but as a team England is not better than Senegal. In terms of physical strength football, Senegal is good and I believe Koulibaly will defend with his last strength to prevent England from scoring. But when you look at the situation very well, you will understand that it is difficult to defend against England for 90mins. In the second half England will introduce Rashford who will give more trouble to the Senegal team
1425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: African teams at Qatar. on: December 04, 2022, 07:38:24 PM
Senegal is a good team and they have an experienced coach. When I saw their line up and formation, I knew they know what they are doing. Senegal play 4-5-1 in order to choke the defence and frustrate England. For them to be hopeful is that they shouldn't conceive 1st half. This is what Ghana was supposed to do, but they went and conceived 2 goals in the first half.
I pray for Senegal to succeed this night and make Africans proud and make Mane Happy.
1426  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Power Or Money ? on: December 04, 2022, 07:29:05 PM
Both power and money works hand in hand with each other. It is money that will give power and person that has power can use the power to make money. Both of them are the same but I will chose the one that will give me peace of mind. If I live in a society that intimidates and kill people, I will chose power. But if I live in an environment that is very peaceful and law abiding, I will chose money.
1427  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: December 04, 2022, 07:20:02 PM
There will never be a completely safe exchange. Your money that is in the bank can be said to be safe but not completely safe. Your coins in the exchange is the worse because when you need it they may not give it to you. Even things we handle by ourselves and keep well, we also have the feelings that they are not safe. Nothing is completely safe, even the life we are living is not  safe. Treat exchange like and exchange and allow it to do exchange work. Don't treat exchange like a personal wallet where you will leave your coins for years and expect it to still remain.
1428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: December 04, 2022, 07:14:53 PM
Even if I don't see the future, I have the feeling that bitcoin will be with Humanity for so many years. This is because bitcoin is new and has already made big impact to the extent that companies and even governments have started adopting it. Even some government did not only adopt it, they also made it their legal tender. This is a good sign that bitcoin has a very bright future. What I normally do is to teach my relatives about bitcoin because no one knows how things will play out in the future and bitcoin will become a universal exchange means.
1429  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Christmas Charity Programme on: December 03, 2022, 07:22:08 PM
I have not seen any Christmas charity campaign either, I have seen other kinds of charity (Covid, natural disasters, etc).
If i had to guess why there have been no Christmas charity, I would say it is because people here also have plans off the forum during this season, so no reputable member of the community (who are the ones who could actually pull off a charity campaign) organize anything.

In the end, we all also need some time to spend with our families during these challenging times.

Actually it might not be tagged Christmas charity program but I know this forun is good at doing charity works. I have seen so many threads by individuals about charity and at a particular time some persons will need to sponsor such charity programs.
I was not here during the convict 19 time but I have seen some threads that discussed about charity of covid-19. It is a good thing so even if it is not tagged Christmas because the forum is not only for Christian. There is always a means of doing charity in this forum.
1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 03, 2022, 06:58:14 PM
I also don't believe why they can play so impressive without a star player what is the main factor in your opinion? is it because of the coach's strategy?
Newcastle did not put one of the players on the top score list but so far they have scored 29 goals also unbeaten in the last 10 matches
Does Newcastle only rely on motivation and strategy as Leicester City did a few years ago?
What can be seen from Newcastle at the moment is how the coach can build good cooperation between the existing players so that the strategy implemented by the coach can work well, actually a team without stars will be even better because there will be no players who are ordered to serve other players. same goal which is to play for the club and produce wins, if they continue to play well next year they will really be a threat to the other big teams who are regularly in the top 4
Newcastle United does not depend on only one man to lead the battle for the team they believe in teamwork and each and every one of them are related to each other in the pitch and that is only what is needed to push a thing forward and not a one-man show. But so straight forward, Newcastle United has very good players unlike what you said. If you look at the team you will see players like Isak, St Maximin, Wilson, Guimares, Almiron etc. These are quality and greate players.
1431  Other / Off-topic / Re: ⚽ Football Injuries and Injury Updates! on: December 03, 2022, 06:36:39 PM
NEW INJURY UPDATES

This particular update and almost got me really worried, and it is regarding Gabriel Jesus who picked up an injury in Brazil's last game against Cameroon and has been ruled out of the world cup with possible fear of missing out some games in the Premier League, very disturbing news for Arsenal. Alex Telles has also been ruled out for Brazil, another challenge for them.

Tite's options on the bench are slowly been reduced by injuries, Brazilian's will be worried if injuries will be the problem of Brazil in this world cup.
source

More troubles for Brazil. As we are contemplating of Neymar return, Gabriel Jesus has been ruled out of the worl Cup. If Neymar was to be fit, the absence of Jesus might not be felt. But this time around both Neymar and Jesus are in doubt.

I also extend my regards to Arsenal. What people are saying about Arsenal coming down from the EPL table after the world cup is about to happen as their top striker is injured.

Based on our discussion last month, the poll dun close and na the i'ss have it. At the end of the month like dis when this analysis dun come out by our brothers Igehh and uchegod-21. The top three quality posts go received an award of 10 merits to be shared as follows; 50% for 1st position, 30% for 2nd and 20% for third. Initial budget na 10 merits but e fit increase if enough smerit dey my hand by the time the stats come out. Others fit follow this same rewarding criteria and make all the meriting happened for the local board posts of the winners wey dem make that means you gas review the account. Hopefully this go increase the quality on this thread and more engagement.

Well done senior man. As you don follow up the matter, create poll and result come out and you make the decision base on the poll. I use this opportunity to hail you and also hail all of our Nigerian people wey dey contribute dey and night and the ones wey don contribute before but no too active again for one reason or the other.

Hello everyone how we Dey na, I see a post for Facebook wey person Dey talk say Binance na the reason wey dey make serious adoption for crypto-currency in Nigeria.

We all no say exchanges like Binance are centralized and no support or protect person privacy at all, so Wetin una think, personally I no go attribute the success of Crypto-currency in Nigeria to Binance.

I no lie you, binance na one of the force wey dey drive serious adoption of cryptocurrency in Nigeria. Binance because say wetin we sabi here. Generally for the whole industry, exchanges dey help push adoption. If you check well more than 80% of newbies wey sabi bitcoin for Nigeria first land for Binance exchange.
1433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 30, 2022, 09:39:39 PM
Even with the plenty miss, it looks like that Argentina will be going to the round of 16 as they are now 2-0 in the match against Poland.
However, in the other match, Mexico has also scored 2-0 but still, if this score line remains the same, Poland will be proceeding in the tournament.
At the beginning I wasn't expecting Argentina to have won Poland the group leaders with this Margin, Now Argentina will be toping their group table that is a good come back for the Argentines after loosing their very first world cup game this tournament against the Saudis sides, This Is an Incredible job done by the entire team. With this win and energy they got now they're now sure of qualifying for the round of 16 games.
Poland played like people who do not deserve to qualify from the group stage. When the match started, I was supporting them to win against Argentina. The support was more when Messi missed pk. But when I discovered that Poland were playing rubbish, I made a you turn to support Argentina to finish them. They were lucky that Saudi Arabia didn't win against Mexico.
They lost but managed to get into the next stage, but I need no one to tell me that they will not survive the next round.
1434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 30, 2022, 09:24:28 PM
I expect a fierce battle for the title next year. Perhaps we should consider several candidates besides Arsenal and Manchester City. Arsenal have had a very good start but it could also be that they slump again and then drop back a few places in the rankings. It would be a sensation if Arsenal managed to become champions. I can't even remember the last championship. But this team does have a lot of potential, City has a lot of experience and also the necessary quality. Liverpool will still want to proof that they are still capable.
The zeal and winning mentality that this current Arsenal squad possesses is something that the team has lacked for a long time.
Arsenal is a team that has some initial good performance, in the beginning, of every season and after a while, they drop before half-season but this season will actually look different because the set of players all have that winning mentality and will like to regain Arsenal history as they have gone far this season and they see the Title in front of them I am sure Arsenal will try as much as possible to lift the Premier League title this season.
You are not correct in what you have analysed. There are no many candidates that are contending for the English Premier League title. There are only two candidates which is Arsenal and Manchester City, every other people are just fighting for top four .
I said this because whenever Manchester City is ahead there is no other club including Liverpool that will overtake them. so this season I am also telling you that there is no other club that will overtake Manchester City.
It is either Arsenal drops for Manchester City or Arsenal wins the league
1435  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: November 30, 2022, 08:53:27 PM
Make God sha change this country for Good for us.
Have you heard the story of the man that was stuck on an island and was praying to God to get him out miraculously, a boat came along to help, but the man refused to get in saying he was waiting for God's help...another boat came by and same thing he said, he kept praying still until God told him that he was the one who sent those two boats along his way, but because he refused to take action, he couldn't get saved. The point of this simple story is that God will not come down from heaven to turn things around suddenly, He will provide the resources to help ourselves, but we need to take action!!! This Nigerian mentality that God will change this country somehow without our action is the same reason we in this mess we are in. Get your PVC and go vote that day, God will make things possible for things to go well but we must take action.

If you open an average Nigerian mind and mentality, na so so rubbish oyibo people use feed our mentality. Any African man wey reason from him common sense without putting Religion, buy drink for the person, na man em be.
For Nigeria, if you mention pastor name, dem go tell you touch not my annointed make God no curse you. If you talk bad politicians dem go tell you say e dey God hand? Tell me how e carry dey God hand? Na everything including our own function be God duty. If God give you life, him come give you their as politician again.

Think we'll well, if the process of selecting leader for Nigeria dey God hand, why God dey give us only bad bad leaders?

God get him duty, make we get our pvc vote bad people out.
1436  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Satoshi a Russian? on: November 30, 2022, 08:12:42 PM
I think you forgot to add some important information in your OP, one factor to be considered is that Russian local board was the first local board on bitcointalk. Which means they have been around for the longest time, and also considering their affinity for speaking their own language in IRL and on every online platform. Other local boards That alone is enough reason for their local board to be more active over the years than the others in the forum.

The logic still holds, which is why Russia becomes the first people to get their local board. It should be because they were the most populated. Why were they the most populated? It still revolves around the topic in OP.
I have been reading other people's suggestions and it shows that no one is supporting the idea of Satoshi being  from Russia. Well it profits us nothing if he is from there. But the fact is that Satoshi is a human and he is from somewhere but we in this community are not interested in knowing where.
1437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bringing it back to your ears: Not your keys, not your coins on: November 29, 2022, 08:08:36 PM
And I can say that OP your topic can not be over emphasized enough, still we have people who still go against all that, Binance are part of the bad tooth in Crypto-currency that slowly may affect the ecosystem negatively.
I was asked by a colleague of mine to teach him how to trade I don’t have full knowledge of trading but willing to help asked him to move his coin to an exchange he feels comfortable he acted shocked like how can someone own a wallet that’s not on an exchange. It’s now this bad people having their Crypto-currency portfolio on exchanges. If you consider your safety then You need to own your private wallet.

Exchanges like Binance are helping the adoption of bitcoin. That is why I don't criticise them too much. If you remove exchanges and be fair in your judgement you will understand that things of bitcoin is not easy for everyone to handle. Especially people that are stressing everyday looking for how to make food for the family.
This people look for people to trust for their coins because their memories can fail them anytime.
No matter what we preach exchanges will be modifying the way they operate and if care is not taken, they will centralize many aspect of bitcoin.
We can only teach but we won't force people how to use their money.

This recent flood wey happen one commissioner die for Bayelsa due to Cardiac attack becos say e hide money inside room  before e go carry him family go Abuja for safety from the flood, for Abuja na e him hear say flood don reach e house before e go come back to Bayelsa flood don dey window level of e house, all the money don cast. Na wetin lead to him death. So the redesign go help small

I for dun talk 'good for am' but we no supposed they cursed the dead instead wish dem safe rest. So RIP to am but na this kind news dey make me hate the politicians more. Imagine, first him carry him family run while others are left to die in the flood but God no shame him people. I understand say this small small politicians no get much power but if them all join hand, dem fit make the ogas at the top they reason their people and nobi to the hide the money dey chop only them.

Senior man no reason am, na this small small policians bad pass. Na dem be the major cause of our problems. When I dey small, I know say Councillor for our ward dey carry catapillar grade Road, councillors dey put mono pump, councillors dey fix market zincs wey spoil.
When I dey small, Local government chairmen dey work bridge, dem dey work Road, dem dey open borehole and dem dey do youth empowerment.
Assembly members get plenty money for constituency projects and dem dey do am and Senators go come in do their own projects and society go good.

But today, from councillors to Senators don off dey chop money, dem carry our attention fix for Buhari, when all of them dey recieve allocation.

We have been fooled and we have been raped!
1439  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: November 29, 2022, 07:41:39 PM

I see local boards an important part of the forum, even more so now than before when bitcoin is spreading all over the world and not all people are capable or willing to communicate in English. On top of that, each country has its own crypto related issues and where better to discuss it other than your own local board.

I love bitcointalk for being able to support and create boards for different countries and languages. That is big advantage this forum has over others of its kind. When you are in your local board you will feel you are in another forum, yet in the same big bitcointalk.
Even if you don't understand English, you will still be comfortable and understand everything happening in the forum

As Cyrus will be examining your request, get ready to travel to Nigeria. We will give you a beautiful wife, it doesn't matter if you have a wife before. It's our culture, we give wife to strangers that are good to us in appreciation for their kindness  Grin
Hah I am not so sure that he even saw my post, let alone considering it. Regarding the wife thing, thank you for the offer but I am barely managing one wife, let alone two.  Cheesy

Cyrus saw your post and he is working out something about it. For you wanting only your wife, you are a good and faithful man. Congratulations!
1440  Economy / Reputation / Is Satoshi a Russian? on: November 29, 2022, 07:33:39 PM
The reason why I asked this question is because I have been following local boards activities posted monthly by Rikafip. Every month Russia activity is always more than double of the other countries. This means that the population of Russians in this forum is higher than other countries by large portion.

I also understand that bitcoin url was  blacklisted by the Russian government and yet they are still topping all the charts.

This has made me think that Satoshi is a Russian. I said so because I am a Nigerian. If I am able to develop something like because, I will bring my people in to take early spot and they will also support me when necessary.

There is no other evidence apart from what I presented above which is not concrete. If I am not correct can somebody explain to me why there are many Russians in the forum?
