Yeah, its rly hard to reward people for being on site , for chating and all that, and not make some other people abuse it. There is no perfect system sadly .

The trick is to reward the behaviours that you actually want.

You think you want people chatting, because that makes the site look busy and attracts players, but what you really want is for people to bet.

If you reward people for chatting, they'll find a way of automating it, so you achieve your intermediate goal: "get people chatting", but not the real goal: "get people betting".

You need the incentive to target "get people betting". So you base your level system on the amount they wagered, not the amount they chatted, and "pay" them when they reach various goals. Maybe they get a PD mug, T-shirt, read access to the VIP room, write access to the VIP room, etc. as they climb the levels. Maybe they get a slightly lower house edge depending on their level, whatever. You just need to make sure that you're rewarding the right behaviour.

Also, be precise in what you're targetting. You could have the goal of "get people betting" and so reward people based on the number of bets they make. But they you get an army of bots all betting 0 BTC over and over, and so a more precise goal would be "increase betting volume".

Very true, it's difficult to apply monetary incentives to anything without massive abuse popping up especially in an anonymous setting. Right now users can only level up by wagering and it wouldn't be worth anyone abusing purely for the faucet.

At the end of the day I think it's extremely difficult to provide any sort of suitable reward for veterans/highrollers in an automated manner so we'll have to get more creative.

1465  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | The Most Popular Bitcoin Game | 1% Edge | PVP | Active Chat | Faucet on: October 25, 2014, 06:33:53 AM
Lol why not implement an automuter to mute anyone that posts more than 3-4 chat messages within 5 seconds like on PD2? I'm speechless as to why you haven't already made that move.

When the chat was being flooded even normal mutes were not working at that time as sockets were being flooded as well. We're adding rate limiting/automutes back in.
1466  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | The Most Popular Bitcoin Game | 1% Edge | PVP | Active Chat | Faucet on: October 25, 2014, 04:41:07 AM
Chat will no longer provide experience, any prior messages will be rolled back as well in terms of experience.

Spammers have flooded the website attempting to game the level system and this in effect has been effecting sockets/rest of the chats (VIP/Main) not just PVP.

Example of bot: grabs a ton of random previous messages and just spams them out.
1467  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | The Most Popular Bitcoin Game | 1% Edge | PVP | Active Chat | Faucet on: October 24, 2014, 10:07:42 AM

I suggest a mnimum of 100 BTC wagered.  Can't have people wagering 5 BTC and thinking their the shit.

Depending on how active it is, we'll raise it based on feedback. 5 is a bit low but it will still keep out beggars and most trolls. We'll probably raise it to 10-20 tomorrow for starters if there is demand for that.

Also, open to any feedback on some special features the VIP chat should entail, perhaps a special icon when talking in all chat rooms or certain commands unavailable to other players. If you have any ideas please let post them here.
1468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 6 Bitcoins to invest on: October 24, 2014, 10:04:24 AM
Lock them away in cold storage. Many investment opportunities in the coin space are complete scams and I'd say nearly all are negative expected value. There's no "provably fair" method to invest in the bankroll of a gambling site either, several of the last big sites ran with coins and/or played against investors.

The smartest thing you can possibly do is just hold your coins securely.

VIP Room will be available in ten minutes after we sort out one quick bug.

Will be reserved to users who have a certain amount wagered which we'll be adjusting with feedback. Hopefully this will encourage more whales to chat.

Would it be a problem if i just give music as audio?

No worries what so ever. I assume the majority of videos will fall under this category
