1461  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: September 18, 2013, 07:10:09 PM
By the way... someone interested to get a refund for 60 chips? Looks like i did another error and refunded 60 chips that someone wanted to be kept...
And someone ordered 3 bitburners  Cry

Would it be an alternative to sell the order to someone for 85%? (I think thats the rate it goes)

If you want bitburners badly, i have 6 bitburners on order and paid and zefir is delivering my chips to burnin. I dont need those 6 miners so theoretically i could sell you the whole miners (or 2) at the cost i had for it. When you refunded your order your loss wouldnt be high. I could even lower the price for the bitburners for the 15% or so you lose by selling your order. And i could give you a bit of stacking cable with 2 connectors. Or the amount of miners you need.
Only an offer.

By the way... someone interested to get a refund for 60 chips? Looks like i did another error and refunded 60 chips that someone wanted to be kept...

I just PM'D you about being Escrow for me and Alex via Überweisung. If we can't get that worked out, I'd accept a refund for the 40 chips.

Thanks,
IAS

I dont want to risk my bank account. Do you mean you would want refund for 40 chips and francong gives you the 95% of 0.086btc per chip to buy them from you? If so we still need 20 chips then.
Thank you "Its About Sharing" and Sebastian so much.

So, if the plan goes like this

I'll pay Its About Sharing 3.268btc(5% deducted) in exchange for 40 chips.
I'll pay Sebastian for 1 bitburner, whole miners.
Refund 1 Bitburner from burnin/Sell 1 Bitburner(w/o chips) to someone else

I'm totally happy with that.  Grin

BTW, Deutschland is an awesome place, I went Düsseldorf, Hanover, Berlin and München. Love them so much, little bit cold though.

That is fine for me. I wanted the Bitburner but understand Sebastian doesn't want to use his bank account and I'd like to have some escrow, which I can't with pay pal.

Sebastian has my BTC address I believe.

Thanks,
IAS

1463  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: September 18, 2013, 04:21:08 PM
I put the boards back in stock in case anyone wants still needs some.

Batch 2 is completely done and is currently being shipped.
Big orders take a bit longer because i have to put them through customs.
The maximum batch 2 delivery has been delayed by the Bitfury development is 3 days.

Transfers of whole orders are possible.

How do we go about transferring an order? (I am a buyer)
I emailed you a screen shot of the receipt w/ order# but before transferring money to the seller, I'd like to know if it is a valid order and approved by you.

Can the selling just log into Cryptx and put in a new name and address, transfer the password to the buyer or ? (Want to make sure it gets shipped to the buyer! ;-)

Thanks, good to see you back!

1465  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: September 18, 2013, 12:15:18 PM
I refunded 360 chips, but have no luck with pm`s to burnin, or emails. No asnwers.
I`m still having 120 chips and i wont to haw a WCooled miner Smiley
But still, no contact with burnin :/

I think he´s busy at the moment with bitfury development - i am waiting for an answer too

maybe he has got about 243 PMs an 385 Mails
I'm waiting for his answer three weeks and I doubt that he will answer at all...
I also remember how much we talked about customer support in BFL and Avalon...

Wow! Three weeks, that is not good news. I've only been waiting for 3 days and he normally replied to emails the same day.
Hopefully he is just busy but has time to work on our chips as well. That doesn't look promising but doesn't he guarantee a one month turnaround time?
With no other chips being on order that I've heard of, hopefully he can get the units out the next week. But technically, he can say one month  Sad
That would make the chips return much much less with difficulty rising fast.

Didn't Sebastian drop the chips off at Burnin's yesterday or today?

1466  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: September 17, 2013, 08:09:17 PM
Your comparing a over clocked product to a stock one.
16 Chip biburner furry stock is 16*2.7 ~44ghash 925EUR= more than 925 when you account for exchange rate. (USD>EUR)
8 chip barntech stock is 8*2.7 ~ 21.6 for 425USD

Right from the site:
"Each board will have a performance of 40 to 80 GH/s (best demonstrated 64 Ghash/s). Tests of a single chip have already given a result of 4 GH/s with 4,5 watt of powerconsumption."

SO worse power consuption, and equal performance to maybe better.

(exchange rate EUR/USD = 1.3355)

I care about what GH I get for my $

933$ for 64 GH Bitburner Fury early October

1275$ for 64 GH Drillbit late October/begin November

They have also a hashrate protection: If 64 GH is not achieved a discount of 133$ (100€) is given...

Actually its more like this:

$933 for a 16 chip Bitburner Fury in early October at the earliest.

$850 for two 8 chip Barntech Drill Bits in late October to early November at the latest.

It is possible that the Barntech boards will overclock very well also. Just throwing that out there.

Well, they are the same chip so they should overclock. Also, I think they can overclock the 2Ghash/s chips to 2.4 Ghash/s, so that means each board would give around 19Ghash/s.
And like I mentioned adding the external overclock unit. I'm sure we will be able to figure something out as again, we are using the same chips.

1467  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paper Wallets - Services, suggestions, warnings, etc. on: September 17, 2013, 06:30:39 PM
Hey All,
....
Curious, if you print yours from the browser while offline (or from an Ubuntu live CD, then go offline), is there an easy way to send to them at a later date? (I'm on Mac and find no easy way to input the public address from the paper to computer, even via the QR code. Even using my Ipad to bring it to the Mac was a bit of work but the only solution I found. None of the free MAC QR readers seemed to work well.)...

Why not just scan the QR address code on the paper with the blockchain app on your smartphone and save the address?

I can do that now with new software but the old one on my desktop (QRReader on Mac) wouldn't work for some reason. The new one (QR Code Scanner) grabs it quick. Thanks for the mention as hopefully others realize not all software is the same.

I don't have a smartphone btw so not a possibility. Also, I would be very very careful about using a smart phone / Ipad, etc. and scanning the private key for cashing out a paper wallet. I'd prefer to do it locally for obvious reasons. Fewer points of attack.

1468  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: September 17, 2013, 06:23:12 PM
Thanks Barntech. The only thing I could find on how they do it is this:

"Tests of a single chip have already given a result of 4 GH/s with 4,5 watt of powerconsumption. Thanks to Burnin’s unique design, an adjustable external clock enables overclocking."

That was taken from www.asic-hardware.com. They are really charging a ton for the units, probably don't even break even and people are really really complaining about the prices.

It is worth mentioning that Bitfury (here on this forum) said these chips (on June 8th - 1st Gen?) would get 5Ghash/s when first announced. So, perhaps Burnin figured something out creatively?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=228677.0   Something must have been there initially for them to mention 5Ghash/s and that number is also what Burnin has mentioned
and is still working on. I haven't heard anything about water cooling or anything out of the ordinary.

One would think that if these chips could be overclocked to the 4-5Ghash/s that the designers would suggest how? And what is it about an external overclocker that an internal can't do?

Anyway, I'm sure you have come across that but thought to throw it out there again. Burnin was working with just the Avalons, then he gets the Bitfury chips and suddenly can overclock them
to 4 stably? Interesting...

Lots of luck in your work,
IAS

ps - Would it be possible to add an external clock unit later on if we figure out how to get these up to 4Ghash/s?

1469  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: September 17, 2013, 12:58:22 PM
Good news like promised. Yesterday morning i got the information that the 10k chips reached my importing company. Since i was bound for the next hours of the day and the travel would have taken a long time into the night and it wouldnt have been possible to bring it to burnin in a reasonable timeframe i decided to let it ship to me. Today i catched the postman to prevent that he doesnt ring. (its a lazy one sometimes because he doesnt want to climb stairs) Otherwise i had to go to post station tomorrow to get it. Now i have chips and prepare to travel to burnin.

I didnt tell that the chips are coming to me by dhl since i didnt want to risk someone trying to catch the package. So i kept silence.

Now i checked the boxes and try to call burnin. Unfortunately i didnt get him till now. I think its best then to sort the chips as long as i dont reach him since i cant sort them in hamburg when he isnt there.

The other 1000 chips i dont have info yet. Only that zefirs batches are on the way to him.

Great news. Closer to having my first, non erupter, miner.

So, this basically means I can go ahead and try to find some boards already paid for per Burnins OK? Hopefully he posts here in the next day or so.
I heard now that Cryptx is handling things?
(Refresher - I ordered 40 chips through Chefnet from batch 6).

As usual, your work is appreciated,
IAS

What isn't so clear is people like me. I also have chips (40) and want them assembled but now he is not taking orders anymore. But some people are selling their assembled boards and I did contact one guy and asked Burnin for permission (he has already stated this is ok) but haven't heard back yet. Sebastian also said he hopes Burnin will comment here on that.

IAS

I'm in the process of just doing this. It is a bit of a mess as Cryptx now handles it. He confirmed with the seller, but for me I can not check since asic-chips.com does not recognise me, asic-hardware.com is not operational and nothing  has changed in my burninmining account.

I am happy to report that it worked out ok. http://www.asic-hardware.com/ is working now (apart from a certificate error) and the orders are in my account.

So, you bought (or rather transferred) the order from a person who already paid and plan on using your chips?
Was the order you bought complete or a part of a larger order? (E.g. - I need 2X20 chips boards and someone is selling 10X20 boards - Can I buy a 2 of the 10?)
Did Burnin or Cryptx facilitate the transfer as I wonder how to go about it.

Glad it is working out for you!
Thx,
IAS

Barntech - Any idea on how they can be overclocking the 2Ghash/s chips to 4Ghash/s chips with an external clock controller as mentioned above?

Hope all is well,

Can someone help as to what is going on with burnin, I didn't cancel my chip order and i paid for burnin to assemble my board and chips which also I haven't asked for a refund. Doe sthis mean my chips will still go to him and get assembled or has that changed. I've tried reading both posts but there is so many I don' have a clue what's happening.

Well, if you didn't cancel your chip order and paid for Burnin to assemble them, then he will honor that. That has been clear.

Do you still have the Bitburners?

I emailed Burnin about purchasing 2 for assembly (from someone like you) but haven't heard back from him yet.
I am in Sebastian's Batch 6 order and they should arrive in a few days. Once they arrive I can pay with Überweisung or Pay Pal, with approval of Burnin.

Thanks,

Mentioned by wonkytonky elsewhere.
Look what happened on Sept 4th, the last time they kissed.

Bid-Sum and Ask-Sum are on different Y-Axis, they cannot touch or cross each other, they live in totally different dimensions.

That's absolutely right.

Well, live and learn. I found the mention interesting.

You long these days?
1475  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Poll] Burnins BitFury miner on: September 15, 2013, 06:21:27 PM
Just like to point out, me and bartech would be more than happy to have you guys buying from us, as prices that make sence Smiley

what do you offer ?

They offer a 21.6 GH/s mining board for 425$ or 19.67$ per GH/s
http://drillbitsystem.com/order.html

We offer a 64 GH/s board for 920$ or 14,37$ per GH/s
(delivery starts first week of October)

Their price is just overclocked from 2 to 2.5 I think. That is an 8 chip board. What happens if they add the external clock?
Then you have 32Ghash/s (4Ghash/s chip from the stock 2Ghash/s) for 425 or so - DOLLARS (LIKE 300 or so Euro, a bit more). 2 of those gets you 64.
1476  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: September 15, 2013, 04:11:31 PM
I have an interesting question that may have already been answered.

So are you planning on using an external clock to facilitate overclocking? I've noticed several posts talking about the idea in the bit fury research thread. Seems like we may be able to raise the clock without increasing the voltage on the board too much and raising heat. I am very excited to overclock these boards!

Well, Burnin was talking about getting these chips to 5Ghash/s, which hadn't made sense... till now. Perhaps adjusting the clock was the way, as the possibilities are most likely limited. If the chips are built very very well, anything is possible.

Any numbers you can share with the findings so far? I've only heard of going from 2Ghash/s to 2.5-2.7 range.

Thanks,
IAS

edit - Here is mention of getting these chips to 4Ghash/s with external clock control. Nice. Any chance of enabling this Barntech?

I got a tracking number... its on the way to germany...

Great. How long it usually take to germany?

I checked the tracking and it looks like 10 minutes ago it reached customs in germany. I hope it goes through without problems now.

Batch 6, or the 1000 chips we still get from it should be on the way to zefir now. He will send me the 1000 chips then. So we will get a full batch directly and around 1000 chips from zefir.

Oh, so Zich was wrong. Batch 6 is coming, at least those of us who requested chips (e.g. me). I wasn't clear on the English in your message.

Just post when they arrive so I can arrange to try to by boards from Burnin or someone else.

Thx,
IAS
1478  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: September 15, 2013, 12:58:58 PM
Going to do this for people that keep asking about it...

MobileMinerApp integration for MinePeon

***** Disclaimer *****
If you screw your installation up, it's on you. This is for users that feel comfortable in command line & generally know what they are doing. I take no responsibility for anything happening due to you using these files.

Hopefully this makes it in the next release of MinePeon WebUI.

Download Here, then exact the files, then put them in the respected folders on MinePeon.

** Note ** Command control from within MobileMinerApp will (should) work for restarting CGMiner only, the start/stop commands will not work as the next release of MinePeon should give the minepeon user the permissions needed to run certain things (and I didn't feel like telling people to go screw with permissions).

*** You can also use, EDITOR=nano crontab -e to edit the crontab in nano instead of VI, it makes things easier. ***
(^ almost forgot about this, thanks nwoolls for reminding me earlier today)

This is pretty exciting news! Thanks for the work here.

Are there plans for overclocking through the app?

IF I understand correctly, we need an account for this to work and then we can log in externally through our WLAN?

Thx,
IAS

Yeah and on Sept 9th and 11th it "caused" a strong up move.. so..

Btw.: It's kind of logical that the bidsum drops when price drops since alot of bid orders have to be filled.

Yes and no. The angles of approach were totally different (This one at 45 degrees, the two you mentioned were sharp). Not saying I know, just mentioning it as I found it interesting.
