Looks like we're still fucked, accoring to this preprint:

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.09.28.21264260v2.full-text

Basically shows that protection against Delta NOTinfection and spreading wane to levels seen in unvaccinated persons within a few months (12 weeks) after full vaccination.

Jabbing people from Q1 to Q3/2021 and reducing measures for the vaccinated group in upcoming winter means a lot of spreading and active cases.

Now tell me again that covid vaccines are a real gamechanger...  Roll Eyes

Significant immunity from covid19 seems to be effective in most cases up to a year, at least. Maybe even longer, but we have to wait for more data.
About 0.3 percent of covid19 patients got re-infected yet, while the covid rates in the fully vaccinated group are significantly higher.

I'm not an anti-vaxxer, but the current vaccines won't take us far in trying to "end the pandemic".

EDIT: Probably the best strategy would be to get infected with covid within 1-2 months after full vaccination.

EDIT2: Found an error.

Viennese researchers develop super antibodies for nasal sprays

By merging two IgA-type antibody molecules that are directed against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, scientists in Vienna working with Herta Steinkellner from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (Boku) Vienna have succeeded in producing a highly effective type of super-antibody . In the specialist journal "PNAS" they show that their so-called IgA dimer neutralizes the coronavirus up to 240 times better than the simple structure (monomer). That could pave the way for nasal antiviral sprays.

Steinkellner and her team use a tobacco plant (Nicotiana benthamiana) to produce antibodies by introducing genes from parts of the body's defenses into the plant. A bacterium helps them deliver the genetic material into the plant, which then temporarily assembles the specific proteins desired.

Only recently was it possible to produce IgG antibodies in this way, which are actually formed rather late in the course of an infection. Among the four subtypes (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 and IgG4) from this group, the difficult to produce IgG3 antibodies turned out to be 50 times better at neutralizing the SARS-CoV-2 viruses than IgG1 antibodies. This promising result, which was achieved in infected cell cultures, was also presented in the journal "PNAS".

holy fuk i'm 2 pages back and i got so wasted tonight i dropped the bike in the middle of th elawnancdi ' m tood rfunk to pick it up !

Heh, i tried to soak the remains of the vaporized weed in gin (43% vol) for three days.
The color of the gin-tonic was interesting, a dark rosè tint.
Even more interesting, the effects. Quite a hammer, THCA and alcohol seem to combine well in this way.
Felt like drinking three times as much, only without the after effects in the morning.

Low 60's are boring so not much to say today.

If we heat up and pass 70k people will talk.

Bought a little of this dip @ roughly $60.700  Cool

I had 6 trades going all the way down, and still missed the bottom by $1,100.00! ran outta fiat! Next time!

This is the way to think about it  Grin
Most of the time i was in your situation when i was buying the dip before the real dip(s).
Yesterday, when i was convinced that the bottom was in, i didn't buy as usual. No, i was waiting this time.
Paid off.

Note that they never do it with a high-dollar condenser, usually your basic dynamic mic. But still....

I would probably murder the bastard that dropped my rhodium plated U87.

Absolutely serious.

Nobody would really handhold such an exclusive Neumann. If so, he almost deserves death without even dropping it.  Wink
While Electro-voice's look like they were built for dropping on a regular basis Cool

I would call it a chicken coop... but hey, that might just be me.   Wink

well, while i may call my chicken coop a chicken coop too maybe outofmemeory has really, really BIG chickens.

perhaps.. perhaps?

It's a coop, they're regular chickens, fo sure  Cheesy

Interesting read:

Vaccines currently are the primary mitigation strategy to combat COVID-19 around the world. For instance, the narrative related to the ongoing surge of new cases in the United States (US) is argued to be driven by areas with low vaccination rates [1]. A similar narrative also has been observed in countries, such as Germany and the United Kingdom [2]. At the same time, Israel that was hailed for its swift and high rates of vaccination has also seen a substantial resurgence in COVID-19 cases [3]. We investigate the relationship between the percentage of population  fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases across 68 countries and across 2947 counties in the US.

Vaccine as well as post-infection immunity just weaken over time.
They didn't grasp that, yet. Vaccines buy us a little time, and a little "freedom", while the bill will be served later on...
The other aspect: A virus wins over humanity. This is the real true drama.

We made it! Thanks to everyone who helped!

I updated the OP, but we ended up with around P624,000, which was more than the P500,000 requested. That excess $2,000 or so will be very useful to help with travel expenses and the various follow-up medical care. Also, I will continue to update this thread as I get more information.

We achieved the goal. Thanks to everyone who donated! I am confident baby Ethan will remember you as he gets older and is aware of who helped him.

Anon Bitcoin OG could snapshot this thread as local, static html version and save it somewhere for later display.
I'm glad it worked, what a fine community. For my part, i was thinking how much bitcoin did for me, so it was easy to give back a little.
Have a good time!

It all started with a doc's recommendation to do cold showers once a week. In the end it became an addiction to breathe deeply in a very relaxed way, squatting in cold water while watching the morning sky.

That just mage my balls shrivel up!

You can't even imagine what it does to penis size, temporarily  Wink

Yep, but duration of spreading is less in vaxxed persons.

Not sure about that one either.

Not so much regarding the Delta variant, you're right (a bit).

They all had (two still have) a hard cough and congested sinuses, while i only suffered a little fatigue and scratchy throat.

Actually that’s how I like to distinguish between variants.
Runny nose, scratchy throat for a couple of days? > same variant
Cough for 3 weeks? > different variant

I know it sounds silly.

Silly? Not in my ears.
It started the same way with the kids, just that it developed further into their lungs, while my immune system kept the virus from entering mine.
The wife was the best, she had a scratchy, runny nose at worst, on the same day when my symptoms kicked in. She's also the type that gets sick about once a year, gets high fever, shivers and comes out fully restored two days after, at the latest. She has some allergies, so maybe her immune system is constantly in a kind of alert-ready mode?

Covid19 vaccines do help at some point.

Not sure about that one.
Natural immunity seems to be superior - against all of the virus proteins, not just one.

Additionally, covid19 leaves you ending up with antibodies  in the tissues of the upper respiratory tract. Vaccines don't do that (yet).

They are far from perfect, especially when it comes to spreading and fading of efficiency over time.

A vaccinated individual, spreads and contracts - at least - equally to any other unvaccinated individual.

Yep, but duration of spreading is less in vaxxed persons.

Quote

It's a simple calculation: If you have a precondition that makes you get into trouble by Covid in 90% of cases, and then you have the vaccine, which protects you from trouble in 90% of cases (at best), you're 50% safe.

Sorry, is that proudhon math or something?

Powell was on the wrong side of this probability, and when he was fully vaccinated half a year ago, he even was in the "below 25% safe" area, which is not much better than the "below 10% safe" area he was before.

As Bob mentioned on WO, Powell died with COV.

Yeah, you can look at it that way too, of course.

at the time my family is suffering from some of the pandemic's side-effects. The social distancing, masks and sanitizers left our immune systems untrained and weak. Since about a week three of the kids are sick, one was sick the week before, i'm also sick at the time. Just a flu, nobody will die from it or suffer long term consequences but it just SUCKS  Angry Angry Angry

It sucks, but do cheer up. Let your immune systems do the work, beats any flu/COV vaccine anytime.

I'm blessed. I have hyper-reactive immune response, though my system was weak becaue of exhaustion for years. Now it's strong, and i was working quite a while on it.
They all had (two still have) a hard cough and congested sinuses, while i only suffered a little fatigue and scratchy throat.
I take a dip in the pool almost every day for 1-2 minutes, and recently the water was roughly 5 degrees away from freezing. It all started with a doc's recommendation to do cold showers once a week. In the end it became an addiction to breathe deeply in a very relaxed way, squatting in cold water while watching the morning sky.

What are the chances of a double top reversal? I need to keep stacking

That would mean below $28.xxx prices and falling?
Out of the blue, very soon?
Unlikely.

Simple theoretical odds are 50/50, i'd say.  Cheesy
Negative indicators? Not that i would be aware of  Cool

See, I have a funny feeling we gonna come down to $50k and hang around there for just a more few months

Legit, why not? Bitcoin is pretty volatile at these early levels, and always up for a surprise.
Still, i doubt it.
