1581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: April 16, 2023, 10:55:39 PM
What if, I get a chance to participate in a lottery without any investment?
If any gambling site offers, free of cost entry in the lottery, i would definitely not miss that one. Smiley
For a giveaway, yes, but don't expect its common coz its not. Check games and rounds boards for that. About free lottery in gambling casino? It's not common that you can entry without betting money, maybe a they give you a bonus but you need to deposit first so its not free.
1582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why we should play on minor gambling platform? on: April 16, 2023, 02:34:27 PM
"Minor" gambling platform, you say, how do you classify them also for the "Major" platform?
For the issue of coinplay, it's what every casino's doing when they accused their users as multi-accounting, cheater and so on, yet no evidence is given. The difference is the complainant is really serious for the case and ask third party gambling mediator, and then so be it, till they solve their case.

As for your question, you can't force someone for that, because if you really are updated on what is happening on crypto gambling industry, even in signature campaigns on this forum, and ANN thread on this board, many casino are opening their business trying their luck to compete on such high competition industry. So gamblers have many options to choose. Also, the experience of others are not the same to you, means that not because you are okay in Stake, doesn't mean they have good experience using Stake too.
"Major" casinos have many complaints too, well most of the old casino do too.
1583  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why coin base take so long to deliver a coin? on: April 16, 2023, 01:59:59 PM
Sending and receiving bitcoin were affected from different things especially the time of transaction when the network become congested especially these past few days where bitcoin rises at 30k. Also, the fees which was explained above.
If you experienced this for several times already and still the same, then its their system is the problem.
1584  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Btc accelerator sites on: April 16, 2023, 10:24:13 AM
But I have noticed that some exchanges send transaction with enabled RBF feature. In this case, probably the best idea is to contact that third party to increase the transaction fee
Although this is not exactly what Loyce was talking about but I've never heard of someone complaining about n exchange withdrawal transaction being stuck for too long. Most reputable exchanges process withdrawal transactions in batches and they pay more than enough fee for a fast confirmation.
This is so right, and having RBF feature on an exchange sounds like overbearing and just a bragging feature that it can be used but in fact it's not. Also, i never heard any exchange have it, it might be better mentioning it here.
1585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Times When Casinos Will Ask Certificate That You Are A Responsible Gambler on: April 15, 2023, 11:54:10 PM
Uploading such file "responsible gambler certificate" before playing on gambling platforms won't help problematic gamblers to gamble because "government is trying to protect the users' wealth". Certs can be forged, faked, etc.
There is no cure for addiction, remember that, it's someone's sole responsibility to do avoid, stop and be responsible in anything they should do even not in gambling, as long it is considered as addiction.
1586  Other / Meta / Re: I can not update a post. on: April 15, 2023, 11:40:05 PM
I tried to edit an old post and got the same error as Royse777. After a few minutes, I tried it again and could edit that post successfully. So, you are right. It seems that there was a temporary issue and there is no problem now.
Ah, you're right, i didn't read and missed your updated post. Maybe this is related to the previous downtime of the forum posted here[1] or maybe @theymos can tell us what really had happened.

I don't know maybe it was just earlier that you can't update a post but i did. I tried it on this post[1], posted way back 2017. Also this one[2]. Anyone, above can try if its still the same on your end?

1588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto as "payment" method adaptable for non tech-savvy people? on: April 15, 2023, 05:11:23 PM
Techy or not, people should be responsible for their own. It's your money and you're responsible on how to keep it safe, unless you're not interested and just wants to rely on banks where people used to, centralized exchange or custodial wallets where there are lots of cons. Well, with all the commotions in the last few months, more centralized exchanges lost their business as well as the funds of their users which is the most unfortunate. So better learn something new and make your funds safe on your own hands than relying to someone else.
1589  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview Of Bitcointalk Contests And Giveaways on: April 15, 2023, 04:09:59 PM
Well, just like others said, contest threads are rare its like maybe once or twice a month or so, while giveaways have particular board, so having a thread for such is something you both can and can't keep it since there are lots of giveaways in G&R board. Well, if you think you can keep it updating this thread, then just, yeah.

During the past few years, the number of Contests campaigns is rare. AFAIK, the last review campaign was several months ago,
Whirlwind review campaign was just launch this month though.

For OP since you added a review campaign as contest/giveaways, check the review campaign of Utopia[1]. Also roobet's seasonal/quarterly/monthly contest[2]

1590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What font is the B in the Bitcoin symbol? Not the lines just the B. on: April 14, 2023, 11:43:45 PM
But now I'm wondering if there's any verification that Phil Wilson was actually involved in the creation of the Bitcoin B logo. He also claims to be Satoshi or more specifically part of a group that he says is called Satoshi so that may put his claim of being involved in the creation of the logo in some doubt.
He claims to be the one who instructed bitboy for the logo layout and more, yet bitboy doesn't mentioned him or someone helping him on the thread he made for at least like a contribution to his work. Although what he mentioned in medium are all well-detailed but still i doubt until he shows proof of their conversation.
1591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Federal government and banks are threats... on: April 14, 2023, 11:16:43 PM
Nothing we can do about it, unfriendly countries towards bitcoin usually do that. Banks and its government always do partners and shares the same ideology towards crypto, good thing it's not in my place.
What people should do about it is doing p2p like others have said, and avoid transacting for large amount of money in one go since it will eventually be detected by the banks, if it can be traded/transferred for multiple times, much better.
1592  Other / Meta / Re: why bitcointalk don't advertise anywhere. on: April 14, 2023, 10:59:18 PM
I don't know the exact reason why Bitcointalk doesn't need advertisement in other platforms since this forum is all about discussions of cryptocurrency and blockchain but I think it's only a waste of time in my opinion.
You mean, a waste of money aside from time. Making advertisement to social media giant platform have benefits even for a forum, many forum or site usually do that on its early stage. But since this forum is as old as Bitcoin, and serves as the history book then making ads on other platform isnt necessary.
Besides this forum do just like other socmed platforms for accepting ads that can generate more money, but since it was stop for many reasons so forget about that.

Also, bitcointalk links are something like prohibited to be shared on other social media platforms because of malicious definition it has on wiki sites and other ill description of other news outlet like tolerating scams and letting or advertising mixers which are known for ML, well, that's i what know.
1593  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: America's first nuclear-powered bitcoin mining farm on: April 14, 2023, 10:42:21 PM
Just stumbled to this thread as this is an interesting subject for mining. I don't think nuclear power is cheap as everyone and media is thinking, it may, on the kw/h rate consumption, but for making it from raws, i don't think so. Geo and hydro powered is still i think is more efficient and greener than any kind of energy.
1594  Other / Meta / Re: why bitcointalk don't advertise anywhere. on: April 14, 2023, 10:27:07 PM
Simply because bitcointalk doesn't need that. Anyone who knows bitcoin or trying to learn about bitcoin will eventually stumbled on this website maybe now or on later date because this site is created by the Bitcoin creator itself, Satoshi. As this forum serves as archives on all bitcoin history on its early years. Besides that, unlike what you've mentioned bitcointalk is not a company or something that serves like a company or business.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: April 13, 2023, 11:33:32 PM
Not at all, any kind of stopping of promotions on some platform cannot stop or even reduce the people who gamble. That's not effective as what it is.
Remember the banning of bitcoin advertisement in Google and Facebook or even on all of the social media sites? Besides people get more interested about it, then later get another ATH.

Just like that, even those who are aware of their gambling activity as a hobby, entertainment or addiction cannot affect that mere reducing of promotion or visibility of these "gambling company" in the public.
1596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing against 2024 on: April 13, 2023, 06:47:43 PM
Stop reading conspiracies, that wont happen, and Bitcoin's vision upon Satoshi, its vision is against this new world order. And whether Bitcoin isn't used in any kind of government and countries as legal tenders, people will still use it and trade whatever the timeline is as long as its still up and people still keep trading.
1597  Other / Meta / Re: BM Signature ANN positive review campaign? Is there any rule to stop it. on: April 13, 2023, 01:49:27 PM
So you mean to say guidelines cannot be accepted as a rule to operate on a board? Then why do the moderators follow those guidelines but are helpless to counter them now? Those are just excuses for me as rules/guidelines need to be addressed after 5 years depending on the situation. The situation now calls for a guideline for BM!
Rules and guidelines are two different things. Not following forum rules are subject for punishment and a ban. Guidelines are just there to give things more clearer, and more like optional to follow.

If you read my reply i said about unethical service and its all about it. No need for another rules especially for managers. Anyone who offer unethical thing/service should be tagged.
1598  Other / Meta / Re: BM Signature ANN positive review campaign? Is there any rule to stop it. on: April 13, 2023, 01:06:47 PM
This is a forum trust related issue or may fall to unethical service that most DT are not into. So a red tag is possible if he will not stop despite of some warnings and suggestions. No need to create rules for that.

And the thread you linked from the service board is not the board's rules its just guidelines for those who want to join, create and manage a campaign.
1599  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by Joon aka NetkaJoon on: April 13, 2023, 11:21:22 AM
Can you include the screenshot of the chat logs? What services did you bought from him that it cost you 2 btc?

This is not the correct board, please to Scam accusations board.
1600  Economy / Reputation / Re: I proudly 7 years as a Bitcoin investor. on: April 12, 2023, 11:35:01 PM
just imagine that if you bought 0.9 Bitcoin and hold it till now,

how will you feel?
It depends on how much you spend to buy the bitcoin. If you bought it last year when the price was still $30k, then you will still have $30k now, so it depends on how much you bought the 0.9 bitcoin for.
I think he is referring the buying of bitcoin way back 2015 as he mentioned when he started not two years ago or last year.

I started way back 2016, but i just make bitcoin out of hobby like faucets back then as im just a student so i cant afford buying such thing not until i was referred here a year after and got more knowledge and have opportunity to earn even just a bit back then.
