the email communication was signed as Canary The buyer assumed it was CanaryInTheMine and actually asked the "seller" whether he was same, while i didn't see a direct response to that, the rest of the story was designed to give an impression of someone who is a reseller... that combined with Canary as the sig, easily confused people.... I shall publish email exchange later, need to clean it up first... |

I just received a PM from a forum member (1 yr old account) who apparently got scammed on Craiglist by someone trying to make it look like the post is from Canary, thus leading this person to believe they were dealing with me. I DON'T distribute on Craigslist, so anything on Craigslist isn't from me.Bummer, I've not had anyone try to impersonate me yet, this feels like shit!! I received the same call this morning. I was asked if I was happy with the SC. I pointed out that I doubt it will make back what I paid for it.
I was then offered a discount for the Monarch product. I was polite and said that by the time it will be delivered it won't make any money so I will hold off on purchasing it for now (being polite). The poor lady asked if she could email me the code if i changed my mind later, I said sure. Received that email pretty much right away.
I don't know what to make of this other than the sales are being worked aggressively now by BFL which could indicate cash-flow/solvency problems. (<-- this is absolutely speculation on my part, I have no info other than the sales call/tactic to go on). The other thought is that given all the VC activity around btc, maybe they want to sell and to inflate the price, they want to show as much "booked" orders as humanly possible... No matter what the situation, I will conclude that they will not meet expected delivery dates on Monarch because if they were able to finally deliver as promised, their sales would explode once again with people believing that BFL has solved that issue and it's safe to order.
Whatever the situation, nothing positive about this, from my perspective...

Canary, have you noticed any oddities on USPS shipping recently? Thought I'd ask here rather than PM. Of the last few USBs you shipped on the 4th and 5th, they are still all showing as "Delivered to sort facility" with no other updates since the 4th and 5th. Not that its been a very long amount of time, I found it anomalous for a few packages.
sometimes they don't get scanned in through the machines... just give it till tomorrow... I'll also inquire about them when I drop off today's packages in a bit. thanks! All packages were delivered today. It was very odd, but I thank you! they didn't scan between my post office and until they reached your neck of the woods... lazy USPS locations in between I guess... glad all is well! thanks! |

maybe a dumb question, but how do I know they transferred? I have no email, PM etc... Unless you were expecting direct shares from multiple sources, by checking the BTC payment from the ASICMINER address to the BTC address you provided. Friedcat only sent me a confirmation by PM. You received a payment for 42 shares more on the 6th november than your payment on the 30th october. Yes, I did. I'm used to seeing a message from fc (cc'ed) on transfer and didn't so wasn't sure if something changed over there... if you don't mind, plz forward it to the email addy I provided. Thanks!! |

Is usb price coming down now with change in bitcoin rates.
I don't think the manufacturer sets the price due to exchange rates... prices are in btc. |
