1681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-QT Wallet connected to the Windows calender? on: March 05, 2015, 10:52:49 AM
Right, so it's not a huge deal then, I just found it interesting and wondered if anyone else had messed with this.
1682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin-QT Wallet connected to the Windows calender? on: March 05, 2015, 10:32:29 AM
So I've recently being playing Dragon Age Inquisition ( Bear with me it does get back to Bitcoin ) and in order to get round those stupid operation durations in the war table you can change the date forward one day and back again because those morons at EA decided that you should have to wait for 2 hours in real time for an operation to complete and give you a shitty item at the end of it. As it turns out one time I forgot to switch back the day I was on and even though it was 04/03/2015 at the time of a transaction to my wallet the wallet somehow believed it was 05/03/2015 and despite me fixing the date, it still believes the transaction happened today despite it actually happening yesterday, while this isn't a huge deal it makes me wonder about potential problems it might cause.

I could be just being paranoid obviously so feel free to tell me if I am but I'm just surprised at how many programs rather than having their own internal calender are simply linking themselves to the windows one, for the record I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate, I suspect though you could even replicate this on mac/linux if Bitcoin-QT is setup in the way I suspect, I've just never ran into this sort of thing before because the calender is never really something you think about much.

Now I've thought about it more obviously the blockchain would still record the proper date and time wouldn't it? However I was wondering if maybe you could switch up somebody's calender to make it seem like the transaction happened at a different date etc. so someone less experienced would freak out over it.

It's hilarious isn't it? On the internet instead of actually reading what people wrote people just make up what you put and have an argument about that don't they?
1684  Other / Off-topic / Re: PC Gaming Thread on: March 04, 2015, 09:42:11 PM
Okay guys, I don't know about you, but I've genuinely tried to play through Dragon Age: Inquisition, but the story has been butchered beyond believe, they've taken the Bioware MMORPG appraoch to everything, grind grind grind, bits of dialogue, grind grind grind, bits of dialogue, cutscene, grind grind grind slight progression in all the characters' stories. It's like they knew they didn't have an interesting story so like with many Final Fantasy games ( yeah I fucking went there ) they pan out the story as much as they can through horribly tedious uninteresting quests which make me wonder what game everyone else was playing that I wasn't.

I tried to like this game but Bioware has been totally butchered by EA, it's lost it's soul and I'm not even going to bitch about the demographically and politically charged choice of characters and romance options, the ones they've provded are dull they barely talk, they get their introductions to make you go "Ooohh cooL" and then it's only until you've grinded past several quests that you get one piece of interesting story out of them whereas for those who haven't played Baldurs Gate 2 the characters would chat with you and amongst themselves constantly, it didn't matter where you were and it didn't rely on stupid scripted triggers.

I can't praise this game, I think I need to go and buy Elite: Dangerous so I don't lose my mind of the boredom I've suffered and play other games that at least have fun gameplay mechanics to mess with, the worst part about Inquisition is they have in fact done away with the majority of the storyline from the previous games, particularly Origins. It's actually pretty hilarious because one of the most blatant 'design choices' that EA have made is they've gotten rid of any desire demons because sexual content is baaaaaaad kids and you're too immature to be able to handle it Tongue which is heavily ironic because sex and violence is what dragon age origins fucking sold itself on.

Edit: I totally forgot that Dragon Age had a god mode, at least I can enable that to make things less tedious so I don't have to travel back and forth between camps constantly, or maybe not the console doesn't even seem to work, it appears that all these 'cheat sites' have just copy and pasted everything from Dragon Age 1 and 2 without even bothering to test them properly.
1685  Economy / Economics / Re: Is deflation truly that bad for an economy? on: March 04, 2015, 07:27:05 PM

If you worked for a living and your wages were in Bitcoin and Bitcoin deflated (i.e. its value went up) say from $200 to $400, you would be fired. If you claim you'd agree to a wage drop then you're really saying your salary is not valued in Bitcoin. It's valued in bananas or something and only paid in the equivalent Bitcoin.

You clearly don't understand how inflation and deflation works, you're forgetting that because the prices will lower due to the currency becoming more valuable that it will make costs cheaper for employers as well when it comes to materials and other expenses.

Stop trying to exclude one or the other to suit your arguments and agenda.
1686  Economy / Economics / Re: Is deflation truly that bad for an economy? on: March 04, 2015, 04:02:42 PM
Wow the neo-keynesian trolls have certainly gone to town here already, I should point out there are those who believe it's a bad thing because of falling prices, what they fail to grasp, is that's only a bad thing for people who rely on high prices in order to make money, such as speculators and people holding various assets, who these neo-keynesian economists are on the side of.

For the rest of us like you and me, deflation is absolutely fantastic, it makes everything easier to afford and allows you to build up savings, you aren't being forced to work twice as hard for half as much and it protects you against market manipulation of the money supply which is what causes these price swings neo-keynesian economists are so afraid of. Another thing to bear in mind of course is that for some baffling reason particularly on this forum the words inflation/deflation have been twisted in their definition to suit the neo-keynesian viewpoint, when I talk about inflation/deflation I am talking about the currency supply, when you print currency and increase the supply that's inflation, when you keep things the same or in fact reduce the amount of currency supply in circulation that's deflation and it causes the exchange rate of that currency to rise against others which is what's happening with Bitcoin and the dollar.

Yes, you're actually recognising that the idea of falling prices being a bad thing is a load of shit, I am building my investments right now and the rising price of Bitcoin is helping me a lot and is a perfect example of why deflation is a good thing, the idea that inflation helps people is a joke because while it may make a short term rise happen as is what's happening in the stock markets right now everything is going to collapse and be a catastrophe. The central banks are advocating the printing of money to keep things going, it isn't out of any benign purpose but it is to keep all these prices we're seeing artificially high, eventually it is all going to collapse in on itself, the only question is how long they'll keep things going, all inflation is, is a very sophisticated form of market manipulation.

Don't fall into the trap of arguing in a debate with people who use made up definitions for words or alternate realities in order to help them win, inflation/deflation is to do with currency supply, it isn't anything to do with prices, prices falling and rising are a result of inflation and deflation they aren't actually the process itself, people who argue using these terms are trying to sweep the issue of currency supply under the rug.
1687  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teen coaxed friend to commit suicide, then tweeted how much she missed him on: March 04, 2015, 03:44:09 PM

Its time we create meninism, opposite for feminism to support our fellow bro dudes around the world.

Or women and men could just unite on the fucking issue and stop trying to take sides, you know, by treating each other equally in the courts and in society.
1688  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do we destroy ISIS an co? on: March 04, 2015, 02:51:49 PM
The Kurds know how to fight ISIS, they've been fighting these fanatics for years, it's only because they want full autonomy and to have real independence they are being ignored by the west, it's incredibly sad to see because they are a very tolerant people as well, you only need to look at how stable their regions are to recognise that.

The empire building ambitions of all of the three major powers are going to get more innocent people killed.

By the way guys, in THIS pic I definitely see blue and black.

It's all in the lighting, stupid phone cameras.
1690  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gold and White or Blue and Black?!?! on: March 04, 2015, 06:49:05 AM
As a learning artist I can tell you it's not strange, depending on how much light and dark an area is that's what can change the light colour, I definitely see white and gold so maybe my brain is just registering the light more or something, light and shadow does all sorts of tricks to the photograph your taking because the camera picks up things the naked eye can't see.
1691  Other / Off-topic / Re: How fast can you type ? on: March 03, 2015, 11:50:12 PM
holy crap some people are slow, I did this while ill and tired Tongue

1692  Other / Off-topic / Re: PC Gaming Thread on: March 03, 2015, 08:13:22 PM
By the way guys, if you are annoyed with the operation table in Dragon Age: Inquisition you can skip the stupid waiting period for them to complete by changing the day on your calender on Windows.
1693  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teen coaxed friend to commit suicide, then tweeted how much she missed him on: March 03, 2015, 07:48:26 PM
WTF?! That's a thing now?! No wonder I suck at being my age group, most people my age or younger are lunatics! O_O

1695  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 03-02-2015 Paypal Founder: “Bitcoin Doesn’t Threaten USD As A Reserve Currency” on: March 03, 2015, 01:42:44 PM
I'm sure they say that but just wait until the economy collapses finally, Bitcoin will be one of the easiest scapegoats, very likely I think the government is going to claim that Bitcoin is the problem and that the people using it are causing the economy to collapse, which will of course be only half true.
1696  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teen coaxed friend to commit suicide, then tweeted how much she missed him on: March 03, 2015, 01:01:23 PM
I'm just telling you what is actually going on, yes it is a shitty thing to do to a person, the people involved in such things are scum, the fact is though they haven't tried to physically harm them even if they may have tried coercing them into doing it, the problem is if she's prosecuted it will set another precedent where people can't take responsbility for their own actions and therefore somebody else or something else is to blame. I don't bullshit people, I'm not going to coddle you and tell you she's a monster and a horrible person and should be thrown into jail for what she did, she's certainly a horrible person, but unfortunately if we jail people for that we're all going to be put in at one point or another.

That's just the reality of the world we live in and why we have to limit ourselves from becoming a mob that randomly lynches people we don't like.
1697  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 03-02-2015 Paypal Founder: “Bitcoin Doesn’t Threaten USD As A Reserve Currency” on: March 03, 2015, 10:48:14 AM
Told you Paypal was full of shit.
1698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized exchanges will never work on: March 03, 2015, 10:32:26 AM
I'm glad the OP gets it, central banks are a monopoly on currency, they will never allow a decentralised system to properly take place, if they do, I'd think something is up and chances are they'll use it as a way to keep track of lots of people trying to use any exchange they're allowing into their economy.

Like I said before: Sex addicts, like all addicts always try to find excuses for their actions.

You're not a very good one are you?
Ad hominem doesn't work on me.

You don't know what that word means, please don't use it, Anarchists believe in the idea of a society without government and god, you're trying to enforce something on people that frankly is based off religious doctrine.
