1181  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Turkish Daily Accuses Govt. of Sending Arms to Syria Rebels on: May 30, 2015, 09:28:31 AM
There are Turks who have always had ambitions to restore the Ottomon Empire, Saddam Hussein was one of the few people standing in the way of their allies and now they got rid of him without thinking about it first they only have to deal with the Kurds and various unaffilliated tribes/organisations. Hopefully they won't get far enough to conquer all of Syria and Iraq, but when they do, I suspect we'll be in for a surprise when it comes to Turkey, the ironic thing is that the PKK were warning about Turkey months ago that they were harbouring ISIS but because they're listed as a terrorist organisation they were ignored. They are also one of the few actually fighting a guerilla war directly against Turkey because of what they're planning and their leader is imprisoned by Turkey, definitely not a coincidence.
1182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Threatens to Quit Bitcoin Development and Join Hearn's Fork on: May 30, 2015, 09:19:12 AM
As always this is what scientific experiment is for and what was always intended for competing currencies. I don't see why we necessarily have to do it with Bitcoin as it is incredibly stable right now, an altcoin would actually be the perfect sort of experiment for this kind of thing. I still think that months ago we should have tried deliberately executing a 51% attack on the Bitcoin network when CEX.IO made their announcement but now we'll never know whether or not a 51% attack is even possible.

Research, Experiment, Test, absolutely all options, even just as we are we already have achieved more than central banks and politicians together have tried for a century, we can do even more now if we just set up currencies to test these new ideas on, unlike them we are actually trying to find solutions to the problems in our current currencies.
1183  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why ISIS is winning? on: May 30, 2015, 09:10:09 AM
Obama is solely responsible for ISIS and it's murderous rampage.
Obama causes misery and despair wherever he ventures whether at home or abroad.
Spreading and enabling murder, strife and hate wherever his effeminate petty self inserts himself.

Really? Just Obama? Can't think of anybody else with your partisan brainwashed mind? You don't think both presidents and the people who elected them both TWICE aren't responsible for this too?

1185  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why to avoid making dumb lowlife Americans feel stupid: on: May 29, 2015, 08:47:50 PM
I'm pretty sure it's precisely because I mock these stupid people that I get any attention to my posts and comments at all, you'll only get dragged down to their level if you try to play along with their logic and try to simplify everything.

I expect he probably pissed off some particularly aggressive stupid people lately and is just having a vent Tongue

Be careful, Mr. Byrne, or you're going to wake up one morning with all of your bank accounts closed.

lol I expect he'll have a stash of Bitcoin somewhere knowing him Cheesy
1187  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iran attacks ISIS & its ‘arrogant supporters’ with caricature competition on: May 29, 2015, 06:11:35 AM
Apparently they've actually been sending fighters across the borders to make sure ISIS doesn't get across, not sure to what extent though.

I like Patrick a lot, nice to see him still around and his stock going up.
1189  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-05-26] CoinDesk: Accenture: UK Government Should Regulate Bitcoin Wallets on: May 28, 2015, 10:10:24 PM
Exactly, UK government needed a 51% control over the network in order to efficiently control wallets.

We had our chance to try and test whether that theory would work when CEX.IO announced how much hashpower they had, I doubt it will come along again because of how popular cryptocurrencies are getting. It's annoying because if we had a proper test of the network and tried to take it down then we could finally put that stupid argument to rest.
1190  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iran attacks ISIS & its ‘arrogant supporters’ with caricature competition on: May 28, 2015, 10:07:50 PM
You know ISIS are assholes when even Iran is telling them to fuck off, this reminds me of Anonymous and the KKK protesting the Westbaro Baptist Church.
1191  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-05-26] CoinDesk: Accenture: UK Government Should Regulate Bitcoin Wallets on: May 28, 2015, 10:59:03 AM
By the time they notice anything weird everyoe will have just withdrawn their money into Bitcoin and so they won't even be able to freeze the bank accounts, should be pretty funny, I've been wondering what they'd try to attack Bitcoin with, I guess this is the first step. Yes, a lot of exhanges do this and can take control of your wallet at will ( never forget that guys when you're dealing with an exchange ) but the point of this article is that the UK government is taking an active role in trying to dictate to exchanges how they do this. Certainly it is a setback for us, but in the end we'll just move elsewhere because they can't control Bitcoin-QT and how the blockchain operates.

So much for the UK being Bitcoin friendly am I right? Tongue
1192  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you guys feel about Early Access games? on: May 28, 2015, 09:04:57 AM
it should be pretty easy to make Mac/Linux versions as I'm using Unity, but I'll need testers as I don't use either myself Cheesy but yeah, that's the plan, I mean I could spend forever making 100 levels or something ridiculous like that, but it would take such a long time I wouldn't make any money, my plan is just to make a completely functional game and get 20 levels in, then patch more levels over time for free, I just wanted to see how people would react to such a move.

Also, yes, I'm going to be using coinpayments for my website so you can pretty much use nearly all the altcoins listed on there to buy it if you want.
1193  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A UK resident? If so, prepare your anus. on: May 27, 2015, 10:35:05 PM
This is horrible. I always suspected the UK to be in a similar situation as the USA. I can't believe their nonsense. This breach of privacy doesn't do anything.
Knowing what couples text each other will definitely help your "terrorist" fight.

Luckily there is ProtonMail for emails and I'm still waiting for a means of encrypted communication for smartphones (since Heml unfortunately got cancelled).

Oh, UK is far worse than US. Snowdon told us that ages ago.
I use SMSsecure for my text messages.
https://smssecure.org/
Got my wife setup on it as well. What I text my wife is completely private and should stay that way.
I've tried to encourage others to use it, but I just get the usual brainwashed response "if I ain't doing nothing wrong, I ain't got nothing to hide."
It's very frustrating.

People like that just simply don't understand how far this surveillance reaches, it's one thing to put cameras in public streets, it's another to deliberately spy on people for no reason.
1194  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you guys feel about Early Access games? on: May 27, 2015, 07:52:45 PM
I can only tell the following: do it, if you're sure you can provide an adequate level of absence of bugs and other stuff. If you're rolling it out just in order to test the game by means of players - warn them, and warn well. It pisses off when you're getting an early access to the game and getting a lagging heap of crap instead.

Well things are going a lot better than I thought because I thought it would be absolute hell getting lots of levels in and so on but it's all fine, so you may well be getting a much more complete game than I expected. Of course if I were to ever do an Early Acccess game I'd post warnings all over the place so that people would understand and say it's essentially in Alpha, but it's look more like a beta to me now already and I haven't even really gotten started.

The main bit to do now is just polishing up and make sure I make the art look nice and put in some animations, Unity is a pretty impressive piece of software, best part is I put my platformer on an old laptop I had and it ran absolutely fine. Oh and to add to the good news, I bought steam greenlight, so when I have reached my goal of about 20 levels I will be putting it up on steam as well as my own website, I read through the process more carefully now and I know what's going on.

I will be patching in more levels once I see if people like it or not, of course, any extra game content will be free if you buy the game, no paid DLC bullshit here Wink
1195  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A UK resident? If so, prepare your anus. on: May 27, 2015, 07:44:13 PM
Anyone who had concern with his or hers privacy has already left the United Kingdom, and have settled in other English-speaking nations such as Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Most of those remaining are either low-IQ people, or recent immigrants from countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh. They are unlikely to oppose this measure.

As somebody who can't leave yet because of financial reasons I resent that -_- but yes, anyone with sense is leaving, this is a shit hole of a country and I genuinely believe the population hates anybody who's young and has a brain, especially when you see the kind of comments people from the UK leave on the internet towards them.

Since they don't want me here and want to tax the fuck out of the middle class, I'm going to leave as soon as possible.

Before the conspiracy theorists and whack-jobs arrive, any sufficiently large explosion will cause a mushroom cloud the heat generated by the detonation causes it  Grin

Sincerely
Mr. I know all about bombs smarty pants  Wink

EDIT:
It's probably the Saudis bombed weapon arsenal of the houties.

thank you for the input. your assumptions have surely more weight to it.

I'm inclined to agree with him, that's not even really a mushroom, also, if this report were real, the whole world wold be absolutely ape shit, nevermind everyone there looking to take radiation readings, none of the superpowers not even the U.S would take kindly to Israel acting on their own, especially with a nuclear bomb.

It doesn't make any sense for them to do this and why Yemen? There are always so many holes in the stories these twats make up it's ridiculous that people even believe them.

Anyone who is against the idea that people should be treated equally in the eyes of the law need to fuck off, the best part is now that people are voting against the religious who are against this these guys are showing just how intolerent they really are.
1199  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 81% Of Al Jazeera Arabic Poll Respondents Support Islamic State on: May 26, 2015, 01:53:55 PM
Polls like this are definitely always unreliable, especially if they're political that being said though if you have enough of a number voting a certain way it's hard to deny the maths and given the way the middle east acts it's not surprising that there would be supporters amongst muslims. The larger the poll sample the more accurate it can get, while this poll isn't that large it's much larger than anything western media has managed to come up with on their issues.
1200  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you watch Eurovision song contest? Share you opinion on: May 25, 2015, 10:48:22 PM

I think in a lot of countries you don't have to pay anything for basic tv channels. You have to have a TV license in the UK which is about £100 for the basic five 'terrestrial' channels but you can get many more for free with things like Freeview or Freesat. I wouldn't pay anything for TV personally.

How does this TV license work? I mean what stops me from buying an antenna for home use and watching them? Are they transmitted encoded in some way or how they control that people buy those licences at all?

It's kind of tricky to explain to someone who is outside the country and I honestly don't blame you for being confused by it, the long and short of it though it's a disgusting law that pretty much harasses and attacks people who refuse to pay for the BBC. The so called 'T.V License' Isn't actually a license for a television it's a tax that is being levied against people to fund the BBC which is pretty much state propaganda in our country, they are the British equivalent of your Fox News.

I may disagree with anything that a certain news station says, but I have a huge amount of respect for them for not pulling the kind of shit the BBC does, you know where they stand and you know who owns them, wheras with the BBC everything is a lot more disturbing, to make things worse it recently came out that the people in charge of the BBC were covering for peadophiles in there ranks.

I think not ever paying the license fee will likely be my first act as an Anarchist when I finally can live on my own, I refuse to fund things like state propaganda.
