1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin is distributed rightly among generations? on: September 19, 2017, 09:21:18 AM
let me put it this way for you:
what are you looking for in bitcoin?
more profit on your fiat? or using a decentralized currency and reach financial freedom?

what you asked is the first one "more profit on your fiat" to that i say, you have to suck it up. those people in 2008 and early days that got bitcoin for free are early adopters who believe in bitcoin's future and you didn't.

if it is the second one (although your comments say otherwise) then your main question becomes meaningless! if you want to benefit from using bitcoin then its price wouldn't matter at all.
1702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptocurrencies that can grow in the coming days on: September 18, 2017, 12:21:23 PM
I propose a topic where all together will publish information on coins that have the potential for growth in the coming days / weeks.

this is good and all but there is a big problem with this types of topics and that is the fact that people don't share what is good until it is too late. usually they only tell you the coins they are bag-holding because what they are accumulating needs to stay on the down low so they can buy more cheap before the pump begins.
1703  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do we really need to depend on China on cryptocurrency? on: September 18, 2017, 12:12:49 PM
i think we need to seriously stop thinking about China and x and y. and instead start thinking about how we can change the current market state so that a simple panic can no longer damage the price like this!

so far the exchanges are where price is set and changes with them. and they have small orderbooks. this needs to change. we need more resistance so that price can no longer go up and down like crazy.

if this happens. we may hope for people to stop thinking bitcoin depends on one country and start realizing that a decentralized currency can not belong to or be affected from one country.
1704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to the moon! No China no more problems. on: September 18, 2017, 11:59:21 AM
neither China nor Problems are going anywhere Cheesy
they are stuck with us till the end of the time...

soon we will have a big rise because of this down trend made a lot of people richer and they would want to buy bitcoin with their profit.
but soon after that we will have another drama called SegWit2x! then there is a possibility of another down trend. hopefully this will be after $5000 is broken.
and then another rise.

and after that another drama with another subject. who knows maybe another exchange hack! or another China ban by that time after they come back in 3 months from now.
1705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs to be worth $1,000,000 to be a legitimate currency on: September 18, 2017, 11:51:43 AM
i can't say i agree with it.
because value (price) is not what determines functionality. bitcoin might as well be worth 1 cent and have the functionality of a currency. it is just like the 10,000BTC pizza story. it was still a legitimate currency back then as much as it is right now.
and now it is even better with all the additions compared to old days and all the adoption and the new merchants accepting it.
1706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to Bitcoin if Central Banks start issuing their own cryptocurrency? on: September 18, 2017, 11:47:09 AM
well it will be a very interesting thing. the technology is out there and it is open source so everyone uses it. and if banks use it to improve some of their systems, then even better. we will continue using them too.

but that doesn't mean anything about bitcoin and how much people are using it should change. bitcoin is not just a cryptocurrency that uses the blockchain technology.
instead it is a cryptocurrency that does these:
a. is confirming transactions completely decentralized
b. people can mine with their computers
c. has a public ledger
d. has a limited amount
e. is open source
1707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with ETH ? You buy to hold or to invest in alt coins ? on: September 17, 2017, 11:09:44 AM
What do you do with ETH ? You buy to hold or to invest in alt coins ?

i buy ETH to dump it when it is pumped! there is no other reason for it Cheesy

so far i have been doing just that, there have been a couple of very good pumps which i join 3 of them from the start and more of them in the middle of the pump and got out my profit after the pump was done and before the dumping began.

of course you can also use ETH to invest in ICOs but i am not a fan of that kind of investment so i have never done it. i prefer the normal way of making profit.
1708  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin @4500$!!!! on: September 17, 2017, 10:44:16 AM
-snip-
But idk if this true or not. But, i just hope the price will recover asap.
I also saw that in internet. But I am note sure is that true or not.
Yeah me too, i just share this pic and maybe some people can confirm it if this true or not.

there is nothing untrue about that picture, that actually happened. you can check out the website itself. it is a Swedish thing i believe and the direct link to it can be found online.
here is a news article about it:

1709  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price from 1000$ to 4000$ on: September 17, 2017, 10:38:44 AM
your questions should be "why only $4000 after 8 years" and what happened to slow it down?!

bitcoin is a unique thing, it is the first of its kind to become this big and safe and also useful. the adoption should have already been a lot bigger than this and the investors should have bought it to at least $10,000. and actually that was the target a long time ago.
but what happened?

you think stocks such as Berkshire Hathaway which is worth $270,000 today took 8 years to reach $4000? of course not!
so why is bitcoin kept back?
1710  Economy / Speculation / Re: what you think about bitcoin in like 5 years? on: September 17, 2017, 10:28:19 AM
bitcoin is five years time in my opinion there will be a lot of hard forks from the original bitcoin blockchain
there already has been hundreds if not more, forks of bitcoin! what do you think litecoin, dogecoin, namecoin,.... are? there has been a lot which even used bitcoin name and blockchain! like bitcore (BTX) which even has SegWit on it!

Quote
and the value of bitcoin would increase by 300 percent today's price.
i think you made some calculation errors.
each year price has gone up at least 150% and this year alone, since the adoption got a big boom, the price rose >250%
and just like any other new booming and adopting technology this percentage will only increase each year.

in other words your 300% will be for 1 year, probably even less. but not at all 5 years!!

Quote
if transaction's speed and price remains the same, bitcoin's not improving and maybe the price wont grow that much
transactions are instant. they take at most 5 seconds to propagate throughout the whole decentralized bitcoin network.
the blocks, by design, will be found on average 10 minutes and that is your confirmation time.

that is the design of bitcoin. others tried changing that and have failed so far. that leaves bitcoin without opponent and growing. so far this growth has only increased and will continue to do so. and with more adoption, higher price follows.
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why btc is not a ponzi or tulips on: September 17, 2017, 10:21:13 AM
it is all a game they play, just don't bother and don't fall for it.
for about 2 months or more bitcoin price was rising with little corrections and everything was smooth and everyone was happy. you never heard anyone call bitcoin Ponzi or tulip bubble or bullshit like that. but when the rally slowed down as all rallies do, all the bullshit of old came out and people like JPMorg CEO also took advantage. most of them are filling their own pockets anyways. a dip that big means a huge profit that nobody with a little brain functionality will give up.
1712  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin @4500$!!!! on: September 17, 2017, 10:14:00 AM
Btc was 4500$ about 1week sgo. But JP Morgan said it is fraud. Then it came to 3000$. Now it is 3600-3700$.

there has been a lot more things at play than just what the bullshit that JPMrgan goon said. and the FUD about China is still hard at work these days.

and why are you just looking at the ATH and current price!!!
look at the whole freaking picture. price was barely @ $2000 in August and before. and it was $1000 before than and last year the same time price was around $700
just take the long term route and you never post another frowny face here.
1713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do banks feel about crypto on: September 16, 2017, 09:54:17 AM
on one hand cryptocurrencies have the potential of replacing banks. and put them out of business so it is understandable if banks may be a little uneasy about them.

on the other other, cryptocurrencies in general which means altcoins are a joke. they are not even remotely close to that goal so banks have nothing to fear. as far as bitcoin goes, it also is far behind that adoption despite all adoption it had so far!
also bitcoin being adopted or any other future altcoins, is not the end of banks they will still exist with fiat and they can even add crypto options to their services and continue being alive that way.
1714  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be the bottom of current drop in bitcoin price? on: September 16, 2017, 09:40:30 AM
Bitcoin and Etherium are going down for several days.
I dont think its the end game. I think its  oportnunity to buy in.
bitcoin went down, ethereum like other shitcoins followed.
then bitcoin started to recover but ethereum was still on its downward spiral and still has not done any proper recovery.

you see bitcoin has a future and that is why a dip in bitcoin is an opportunity to buy in but a dip in an altcoin does not mean the same most of the times.

Quote
Obviously i want to buy cheapest.
I hear different numbers. 3500 (passed) 2500. 1K.
What do you think will be the bottom of current drop and what can stop it?
that is why they say it! to fool you into waiting longer. that removes the resistance on the market and price can slide down easier and you will probably even panic and sell more helping the drop. all the while missing the buy chance at $3000 which was the bottom to buy at and $2950 the optimistic price to place some long shot orders.
1715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What the hell is JPMorgan upto? on: September 16, 2017, 09:32:36 AM
Maybe JPMorgan wants to buy cheap bitcoin by make controversial opinion or he still believe bitcoin still profitable as investment, but fail as currency Roll Eyes
It's not like we've never see people/group intentionally make bitcoin price crash for cheap bitcoin.

maybe? they already spread their FUD, crashed the price, made their purchase and became a lot richer than they should have been. they knew very well that the dip was temporary and took their positions in the market then unleashed their dog on the media to bark at public and public was successfully filled with fear.
a couple of million dollar profit in less than week is a pretty sweet deal.
1716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it actually worth buying btc of 50€? on: September 16, 2017, 09:24:23 AM
Hello, I am actually a university student and my budget is kinda limited(a lot) so I was thinking. Is it worth to actually buy btc worth of 50€ right now?
yes it is worth it but it can prove to be a bit hard to do. because usually people are not selling that small amount of bitcoin and fiat transfers are a pain in the ass.
of course since you apparently already have a friend in bitcoin you can buy bitcoin from him. for example if he has an account on an exchange with funds you can ask him to give you 50€ worth of bitcoin and you pay him in cash.

Quote
because who knows when btc will reach 600€ again? Years? Months? Never? Even if the prices goes to x2 I think it's a pretty good deal)
What do you think?

it will not go low, specially that low you have in mind Smiley
and even 2x is not going to be a huge profit! what is that 100€ ?
1717  Economy / Economics / Re: JP Morgan betting on Bitcoin on: September 16, 2017, 04:20:23 AM
i don't know how reliable the source in OP is but it really doesn't need any kind of proof. what that public discussion was about and how bitcoin was slyly included and called "fraud" and also the perfect timing with the dip that bitcoin was experiencing are not coincidences.

i am not someone who believes in coincidence and i do believe that people like JPM are not speaking randomly and without purpose.
1718  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bulltrap? Or Bull run restored? on: September 16, 2017, 04:02:40 AM
If the Chinese decide to cash out we will see a new bottom imho

with Chinese exchanges closed they have no market to cash out and affect the price. all they can do is to sell off the market like selling on localbitcoins or some Chinese forum thing. and that has never affected the market price.

besides you seem to have forgotten that last time Chinese closed their exchanges for 3 months price went even higher! and the volume coming from China's localbitcoin was through the roof as they were buying more.
1719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The dust has settled...how did you fare? on: September 16, 2017, 03:50:23 AM
After setting up my platforms and dipping my toes in the water with a few small buys, I sat the last 48 hours, with my finger on the buy button for 1/3 of a BTC.  I watched as it dipped, and dipped.  I was a half a second away from clicking "buy" as prices dipped to $2,950, and I didn't do it.
you should never do that because it is always going to be impossible to catch the bottom. that is how market will always work. the absolute bottom of the dip lasts only a second.

you can see the charts for other examples too.
the $3600 on 22/8
the $1830 on 16/7
the $2120 on 16/6
the $1850 on 27/5
the $891 on 25/3
are the examples of the bottom of the dips of this year and none of them lasted more than an hour.

to catch them you need to place buy orders ahead of time.

sadly this time i did not have that much money to do it but i placed some orders below $3K with what i already had and bought some with it.
1720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confidence Returning to Bitcoin? on: September 16, 2017, 03:43:05 AM
this is an old topic but it is interesting to see how it is still relevant and also to see that the same thing has happened again.
the more interesting part is the fact that this has been happening as long as bitcoin existed and people still fall for the same thing!

rally > price rise > ATH > profit > FUD > drop > short > bottom > buy back > inevitable rise > profit > rally
rinse and repeat
