Running with full separate data dirs works fine other than consuming a lot of disk space.

this is the way i do it... 1 gb is only 0.0002 * my disk space.

unfortunately the exe on windows only allows one running instance though, so you have to exit fully first before launching the other.

'second coming' wouldn't work out well because there are too many alt coins all wanting to be bitcoin 2.0. having a dominant crypto currency is extremely helpful for takeup.

when hd-dvd and bluray were fighting it out many people refrained from buying equipment. then finally bluray 'won' and sales took off.

Help me decide what I'm going to do to celebrate my 500th posting.  Winning idea gets a prize.

review some of your old posts and delete a few, so you can celebrate your 500th over and over again.

1731  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: AAQ (Actually asked questions) for Spend Bitcoins on: February 14, 2012, 08:38:09 AM
Do you offer Amazon payments for addresses outside the US (Mexico in this case)?

I don't believe Amazon payments currently works outside the US. If it does work in Mexico, please let me know.

can you let us know a bit about the new 'tool'? eg. is it portable?
can i use your new website at a public internet cafe?

does the ordering process still require an email address?
1732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin buyout. on: February 14, 2012, 04:05:29 AM
how much would each bitcoin be worth to you?

i'd settle for $100 each.

Let's just say that the would require ID and a contract to sell.

oh now i gotta send ID to someone and sign a contract? better make it $10,000 each for the inconvenience and privacy issues / red tape.

Better hope nothing bad happens to MtGox... considering that they're basically the BTC trading monolith now.

you mean better hope nothing else bad happens to mtgox.

depends on your personality... i think a great investment would be paying a skilled and efficient web developer to help expand your empire.

1736  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expect Decline: Silkroad suffering turmoil. Paxum lowers short-term confidence. on: February 12, 2012, 11:10:46 PM
I guess that if this is real and SR is on the way out the best thing to do for people who want Bitcoin to survive is to try to get more real exchange going on in the currency.

uuuh, how about just make a new 'SR'? or several
1737  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin-accepting organizations' acceptance/usage of GoDaddy which supports SOPA on: February 12, 2012, 12:52:25 PM
thrucoin.com still supports Go Daddy

haven't paid (and won't be paying) them any more money though... just waiting on enough funds to do it in bulk instead of one domain at a time.

My guess would be never at all. Testnet is where new code is tested out before it is released.

oh, did satoshi test out his very first attempt on the test network before creating the main genesis block?

i thought we were talking about a bug in satoshi's creation, as old as bitcoin itself.
1740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in danger!? Received <Sent!?! on: February 10, 2012, 05:44:47 AM
would it be possible to see exactly how many times this occurred on the main network?
