so to clarify, the main consequence of the bug was that a block reward could become lost forever?

still... turning 100 BTC into 50 is less serious of a bug than being able to turn 50 BTC into 100 Cheesy

Why would his own post count?

uh, because he said 'posters in this thread'.

...and the only way to say that is by posting in this thread.
1744  Economy / Marketplace / Re: 1 free bitcoin on: February 09, 2012, 11:36:42 AM
No my post does not count.

Surely you are the first poster.

that's what i thought too.

red123 most certainly posted in this thread.

Lazer, what kind of work do you do for the company? i imagine it might make a difference if you were in say, the I.T. department as opposed to a more physical job.

i work in I.T. and want my boss to accept bitcoins, but i'll probably code up something for his sites *before* even discussing it, so i can just say "look what i did, you now accept bitcoins Tongue"
1747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help Me Convince My Boss To Accept Bitcoins on: February 08, 2012, 05:09:08 AM
Hell, the other day you traded a laser for that SUV for your wife.

Shocked time for my yearly eye-test.

What do you consider a good candidate as a lender?

maybe someone that doesn't nag him to withdraw 0.12 btc everyday for their bittleships addiction?
1749  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you read this? on: February 08, 2012, 01:53:35 AM
If you can read this, you have strong eyes.

if you can read that you selected the text and right-clicked, and saw "Search duckduckgo for 'If you can read this, you have strong eyes.'" on a context menu.

How long does it take to earn/sell stuff worth $200?

in all fairness if proceeds were equally distributed to us clients, a sale of a $200 item would only yield you $4.
1751  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a btc newbie which are the top 10 essential sites in the btc world on: February 06, 2012, 09:28:46 PM

No, he failed but I have someone coming over tomorrow morning (once I add macos to the machine) and will fund btc via paxum->bitinstant->Mtgox right as its sold.

Any updates??? I'm sure you have other stuff you can sell to get the money Sad

1753  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling tweets for btc on: February 05, 2012, 12:51:38 PM
Oh yeah...
Didn't realise that Tongue but then again, nobody said the tweets have to be about bitcoin...
Maybe I could say that if your tweet is about bitcoin you get 15 percent off!(To promote the bitcoin system, or is that too complicated?)
You sir, shall get two tweets when I start aswell Tongue

thanks... by the way, why in your opinion did 15000 people follow your account? what is their focus?
1754  Other / Off-topic / Re: Say "raise up lights" out loud... on: February 05, 2012, 12:39:09 PM

oh boy, there's an even more disturbing explanation for an image like that.

Wow. Seeing as they have 50 ish followers and I have 15000 ish followers, whick is 300 times them, then according to that I should charge 3btc each. That's about 15-20 dollars depending on what mood mtgox is in. Wow.
Saying that, I would never charge more than 0.5 btc Tongue

slight difference is that they have 50 followers which specifically decided to follow a bitcoin-related advertising account.

i.e. they have quality (not saying yours aren't quality leads, but they probably wouldn't have the same level of 'bitcoin' focus)

1759  Economy / Economics / Re: The Hoarding Instinct on: February 05, 2012, 11:07:59 AM
i categorize saving/hoarding in the same thought process that compels people to get high scores in computer games.

it's always fun to make a new high score, and to see your wallet balance higher than it's ever been before.
