1741  Economy / Economics / Re: Why many USA senator against bitcoin? on: February 17, 2022, 07:33:46 PM
I think Bitcoin is something generally easier to accept if you live in a country with a fairly bad fiat currency, prone to significant inflation, and a pretty weak economy, desperate for new investments and jobs. The US is a proud nation and a #1 economy in the world. Many countries hold reserves in the USD and measure their own currencies against the USD. So with everything being alright without Bitcoin, Bitcoin introduces a potential risk. A change always means that something might go wrong and things might get worse. It's a risk worth taking when there's a high demand for a change, but it's not attractive when there is no strong feeling that a change is actually required.
US senators know exactly that bitcoin could create a massive adoption to its citizens because they have seen that US dollar isn't working at all in favor of the people, but its more being used by the government officials. And US dollar is highly affected with inflation so it only decreases the purchasing power of the people. So bitcoin becomes a threat to the government as it brings more transparency that the government doesn't want to. And maybe because they believe that bitcoin has created opportunities to scam investors, assist criminals that may worsen the climate crisis, that makes them do not want bitcoin at all.
1742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine Just Legalized Bitcoin on: February 17, 2022, 06:45:22 PM
Ukraine's parliament has supposed a new law that legalises cryptocurrency. The bill was adopted in a near-unanimous vote on Wednesday and needed to be signed by President of Ukraine 'Volodymyr Zelensky'. From today, trading or vendoring in crypto in Ukraine has existed in a legal grey area. Local peoples are now permitted to buy, sell and exchange cryptocurrencies, but law enforcement will often see companies and exchanges dealing in crypto.
Ukraine's crypto law does not promote bitcoin as a form of payment or legal tender or does not put Bitcoin on an equal floor with the hryvnia (Ukraine's national currency).

Sources: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/09/08/ukraine-legalizes-bitcoin-and-cryptocurrencies.html#:~:text=Ukraine%20is%20the%20latest%20country,the%20cryptocurrency%20slowly%20goes%20global&text=In%20a%20nearly%20unanimous%20vote,desk%20of%20President%20Volodymyr%20Zelenskyy.

Am I the only one who thinks that Ukraine is considering a war is imminent and paved way for their citizens to move to a decentralized form of currency in case the need arise in future? I may be terribly wrong but I welcome the fact that Ukraine has taken at least a right step. Legal grey area is a dangerous thing and some crypto exchanges of my country have already experienced this. So it's always better to have everything in black and white which is not only efficient but makes it easier for everyone to adhere to it. That brings speed and trust within the ecosystem. I hope Ukraine gets full benefit from the legalization of cryptos and probably set an example to the world.

This news is not something new as legalization was already observed before way back Sept 2021. The breaking news i want to hear is that when they will legally adopting bitcoin as their official currency, or even just an alternative to their official currency hryvnia. Because once it happens, it will follow the path of Russia and El Salvador that could create a massive price surge for bitcoin in the market. But at least, we're seeing bitcoin mining and trading already legal, that's still a good factor though.
1743  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 17, 2022, 01:21:41 PM

Bucks -10.5 @1.88 vs Blazers, good luck sa ating lahat.

edit: back on winning track tayo, panalo yong Grizzlies by 11 points against Pelicans.

Nice yan at congrats kabayan, pero talo sila kanila laban sa portland, sana di ka naka tayo.

Quote
For today's game:
Bulls -5.5 @.195 vs Kings...

Panalo rin ang pick na ito, 7 points lang ang panalo, medyo may pagka thrill pero panalo. hehe..

Para bukas pala, share ko lang picks ko this early.

Wizards +4.5
Bucks -6.5
Heat -5

GL guys.

1744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 17, 2022, 12:01:50 PM

With regards to Alaska and its franchise, it seems that three companies are interested to buy its franchise as per Comm. Marcial said in this article.
https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/basketball/822213/3-companies-express-desire-to-buy-alaska-franchise-reveals-marcial/story/
Quote
Three companies have already expressed desire to buy the Alaska franchise after the latter made a shocking announcement on Wednesday that it is leaving the PBA after 35 years.

There really are some companies who wants to join the PBA but its just quite unfortunate that the PBA doesn't want to expand and add other teams aside from its current teams.

Good if that will happen, according to the news, this will be the last season of Alaska but they still have time, so if one would really buy it, it will save the PBA's reputation also. We have discussed here about the future of PBA before that other leagues are also popular these days, they cannot take this lightly, its a serious sign of their direction in the future if they will not improve.
1745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Estrada vs Gonzalez Trilogy - March 5 on: February 17, 2022, 11:35:01 AM
The thing is that Martinez is moving up in weight, so the question is, can he bring his power to this division? I highly doubt it so I'm not seeing him knocking out Gonzalez even if he is old and could be out of prime. Martinez just grab this fight because it's a perfect opportunity for him, but it could backfire if he losses this one. And if he losses the fight, what will happen to his unification fight with Sunny Edwards? Big gamble on his part for accepting it, but we will see.
I guess has you have said, the opportunity is there so why not grab it and see how it goes for him?
He seems to be too confident if he says he can knock out Gonzalez because no one has yet beaten him by knockout. So I don't think that Martinez has something specially in him that he can just do it to the great Gonzalez. On the contrary, he could be the one getting knock out here for all we know.

There are some circumstances where the replacement dominated the favorite one of this is the Ugas - Pacquiao, Ugas the replacement beat Pacquiao by unanimous decision, and everyone was caught by surprised, Gonzalez should not underestimate Martinez he still has time to adapt his strategy to Martinez style, if Gonzalez plays it right he can beat Martinez and we can have the trilogy in the future.

Gonzalez have seen it all, so I don't think that because he will be facing Martinez he will be underestimating him. On the contrary, he might really train hard for this fight because he doesn't want to get upset by someone. And if Martinez wins then probably we will not see the trilogy anymore as Gonzalez might retire for good.

He will have to bounce back, however, I don't think we are talking of upset here or whatsoever as both have won 1 apiece against each other, so whoever wins this is the better fighter and I think it will go on a split decision again.
1746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you regret when you miss selling at ATH followed by a correction on: February 17, 2022, 08:08:27 AM
I find this problem very common, where different returns and investments will give different strategies. I am comfortable with what I have planned, and no matter how it turns out, the original decision should be respected. It is possible that complicated developments cause psychological fluctuations, but if you are a decisive person, you will always see new opportunities better and do not appear wiser than others when achieving success in a short time.
Well, i don't see myself regretting from this situation because i always believe that there will always be another bull run so why not invest more and hold again before its new ATH. Though regrets are sometimes unavoidable, but it will only lost your focus on the goal that you want to achieve so its not really helping. And the fact, that you don't lose your coin that time, i think there's no reason to regrets. Just invest more and set your ideal price when to sell so you won't be losing another opportunity to make profits.
1747  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin touched $43k, from $33k in two weeks on: February 16, 2022, 08:47:06 PM
In my opinion, the price of bitcoin will still experience a bullish trend in the midst of a green market like today. Although later the price will drop occasionally and that is only natural because crypto prices often experience rapid increases and decreases. Therefore it seems that the next bitcoin price target will be around $48k within this week.

There will be a lot of ups and downs before we can get to $48,000 at least. It seems that the market has stagnated to $43,000 for this week. Maybe the bulls doesn't have the final push or the market is on a wait and see basis. Usually this happens if we go and try to break a big barrier like $45,000 and then we fail. So we will see if the bullish trend will continue, but I wouldn't be surprised if we are going on a sideways pattern.

True. We are used to witness volatility in Bitcoin market that I consider an opportunity to make money by proper risk management and avoiding impulsive decisions. last week Bitcoin was down because of negative news coming from Ukraine but this weeks seems good and most likely we will see closing of  weekly candle above 46K.

I think it is still $45,000 to broken first, and then we can talk about $46,000 and higher.

The Ukraine news seems to be fading away as the market perform very good the start of the week. Hopefully we can close this week with a good rebound and who knows, there could be another shock for us this week. Because as far as TA (RSI strength) is concern, this could be another bull run for us.
The current price is $44,212 so its already close breaking its next resistance at $45k price level. If there will be a good push by next week like having positive news that will leave huge impact, then bitcoin will not only hit $45k but it will be heading for a $50k price level. I guess this time, having a bull trap is less likely to be more possible since the market has started to be more stable again, along with potential altcoins too. At the end of the day, there will only be two possible paths, that we are heading to another bull season, or we are heading back into another price correction if the market is affected again by the insignificant news and updates.
1748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is A Better Option Than Fiat Money? on: February 16, 2022, 11:11:08 AM
bitcoin has many advantages

fiat has many advantages

That's why I don't see any reason to make comparisons.

for example:

fiat is recognized by governments which allows it to be used in countries, everything you buy uses fiat, people receive a salary using fiat, but there are maximum values for walking on the street with fiat, something that does not happen with bitcoin where the person can be their own bank
All these advantages will be happening to bitcoin soon if the massive adoption will continue. It may not replace fiat, but its a good alternative for fiat in the future. For now, the best advantage of bitcoin is to have it for financial freedom. And this is rare to happen in fiat, as inflation continue to depreciate the value of fiat. And while fiat is closely monitored by the government, with bitcoin you can have limitless opportunities without the authority monitoring it.

Not as soon as you think. Don't get me wrong I am all for Bitcoin as well, but fiat currency cannot be phased out. No matter how high the inflation rate are because there are still those who choose to use fiat currency as a means to access everything. Currently, we do not want to pay for a cup of coffee or a quick fastfood launch break using Bitcoin, because of the transaction fees and some people is too afraid that they might going to regret spending Btc at this current timeline.

I definitely would agree that Bitcoin and fiat currency could both co-exist for the longest period if time.
I think that's the final goal of bitcoin, to be accepted as a currency and to be a good alternative for fiat, knowing for sure that bitcoin won't replace fiat in the long run. Although there are a lot more advantage using bitcoin, but its undeniable that the majority are still trusting fiat because its the only legit currency approved by the government. And as long as the government continue to backed fiat, the use of bitcoin will never become mainstream. Bitcoin as an investment may be massive, but having it as a currency will always be limited in scope.
1749  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 29 Year Old Legend In Crypto Trading on: February 15, 2022, 07:13:24 PM
Bankman is a founder and CEO of FTX company he's goal is to make massive income from crypto currency not for himself which is for those kids whose living in the orphan. Infact next year his plan is to donate billion.. Well probably its a gift for him to help other people. Imagine he's a millioner/ billioner but he doesn't have any expensive things such cars, houses and etc. And his trading technique is very brilliant whrein he just sell bitcoin in other country exchanges when there's a big difference when it comes to the value.
Wow a modern superhero , what is his power? to trade? lol but this is admirable because we cannot find someone who has this heart for orphan .

I hope that 1 billion dollars to be donated will go to what needed to be funded and not in corruption or similar like that .
That makes him exceptional because he has always this heart for the charity. And knowing most of the legend traders, they are only good for themselves and focus more on how to improve and gain more wealth. But i believe people who have always been a great giver, are being blessed even more. So my salute to this young man, for being so selfless and great benefactor.
1750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be a wise investor on: February 15, 2022, 06:08:43 PM
Be smart and always take advantage of any project that brings you profit, do not stare at your wallet and say "I'm going to be rich in 3 years later," this is a 1 percent out of 100 percent chance that it will ever happen, remember, being rich isn't the most important part of our lives but living is, and remember, being rich isn't the most important part of our lives but living is.
Been risk through crypto investment is a greedy deception. Take profit when a new resistance is set because not all projects are reliable. Having a notion of becoming rich with most shit coin is like Ponzi or gambling which appears like a 50:50 probability. Crypto most especially shit coins has made many rich and at the same time rendered many bankrupt. Keeping onces profit realistic can save the bear
Crypto makes it more risky investing into shit coins as they are considered to be bad investments. However, its one of those who can give us quick profits but also can make us lose in just a blink of an eye. So learn to avoid shit coins as they won't be profitable in the long run. Instead, focus on the projects that have high potentials to succeed, especially for those who are already established in the market. They may never give us quick profits to become rich, but they can give us consistent profits that can sustain our needs and if they can be managed wisely, those projects will be our good assets to make us rich in the near future.
1751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Overthink Potential of Bitcoin on: February 14, 2022, 11:13:14 PM
I agree that it may not be everything in reality and we're too overwhelmed by what it can bring to the table. It's all about being optimistic and we're thinking that this should apply in reality even it's not.
It's not that hard to accept the truth but who knows someday, those ideas that can't be achieved by bitcoin could be achieved. There's a continues changes that's happening every now and then.
But with bitcoin's potentials, everything is bound to create progress that we have not experienced from fiat alone. But i believe those who have overestimated the potentials of bitcoin will never be in a wrong way somehow as bitcoin will always have its own unique way to provide us all the advantages like financial security and freedom that we have not seen in crypto. Though things are quite hard this time for bitcoin, but we can't deny it that its giving us more food on the table and comfort on our homes, things that we hardly even experience if we only stick with fiat.
1752  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The market is confusing on: February 13, 2022, 09:17:26 PM
Maybe we should just be neutral without being too optimistic or pessimistic.

No person can be neutral in trading. It is either you are buying or you are selling. You buy when you are optimistic and you sell when you become pessimistic. All that depends on how price is moving and no where can price remain neutral. Staying neutral means that we believe price is not moving in any direction at all, and that will be wrong conclusion. Am optimistic.
Simply being that numb when it comes to various situations which its a must thing for someone when dealing with trading being too optimistic or pessimistic then this would really vary on the
situation and we know that not all people would really be ending up on having the same mindset thats why neither those both two could be the possible thing to have.
Market is confusing thats why you should really make yourself versatile so that you could really able to adapt on whats ahead or happening because if you dont then you would
really be having a hard time on doing it.
You will really be confused if you always let yourself influenced by others. Be more transparent and feasible. Increase your knowledge and focus on your own market analysis. As a trader, you should know in the first place what's your goal in the market so won't be confused when you see the market is heading towards against your expectations. Focus on being optimistic and always have your right attitude when dealing with the market uncertainties.
1753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Martinez - Feb 19, 2022 on: February 11, 2022, 02:50:10 PM
He will continue the winnings that were started by Donaire (although against a fellow Filipino) and the newly crowned World Title holder Mark Magsayo.

Don't you forgot about Jonas Sultan as well, he was a huge underdog against a KO artist - Caraballo. But he knock him down 4 times en route to winning the fight. So Filipino flags waving all over the lower weight division in boxing right now.

If we win when we are an underdog, then most likely we will win when we are the favorite to win.

As for this fight, it was rumored that Ancajas is the favorite to win, I used the word "rumor" because I could not confirm it on betting sites.
Based on this article - https://champinon.info/schedule/ancajas-vs-martinez/#iw-modal.. odds are as follows .

Quote
Latest Odds
Ancajas to win: 1/3
Martinez to win: 2/1
Draw: 23/1

Looking at the schedule of matches from ESPN. I have no idea who's going to be a good match to watch.

https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/12508267/boxing-schedule

Anyone who has a good insight and has followed any of the boxer on that schedule that's interesting to watch?

There are plenty of fights but you don't have to watch everything, it's all up to you, you watch the fight that you know who is fighting so you will get entertained. As for me, I am more interested to watch fights especially if it's a championship fight.

This month, I'll be watching the following fights.

- Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook
- Jerwin Ancajas vs. Fernando Martinez
- Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Vincent Astrolabio

I bet on TNT and I'm not gonna add my bet on live betting although the odds are better, I'll call it a night whatever the outcome is, but I'm hoping that TNT will have a rally in the 2nd half and will try to make the score close.
Best of luck bro, looks like Magnolia is keeping their lead, there's still plenty of time but Magnolia is still in a double-digit lead. But anyway, good luck and I hope you'll win your bet, I'm just watching the game trying to enjoy the night with beers on my side.
I lose my bet as TNT did not complete the rally, they lose to the Hotshots by 3 points only, if did bet on live and get the handicap for odds like 1.90, I could have probably won, but that's okay, I already made my decision so better luck next time for me.

Congratulations to the Bolts for beating the NLEX. Anyone able to win that game?
I was not able to bet on that game, it's too early so I miss that one.

Currently live now is the game between Hotshots ang Giga, Hotshots take a good early lead, good timing to take the live betting for those who think the TNT will win this game. I know Magnolia si the slight favorite but getting a live bet at this moment will definitely give you a good odds for moneyline.
I bet on TNT and I'm not gonna add my bet on live betting although the odds are better, I'll call it a night whatever the outcome is, but I'm hoping that TNT will have a rally in the 2nd half and will try to make the score close.

1758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia and central Bank agreed to legalize cryptocurrency as a form of currency on: February 11, 2022, 08:11:11 AM
Similar scenario is happening with China, India, Bangladesh and few more countries. Recently India through its heavy taxation gave sign of acceptance, but there is no official statement that cryptocurrencies were legal within the country. Russia that has been coming up with different opinions on bitcoin and blockchain have now reached a better position. When the official framework along with the do's and don'ts revealed we'll get to know what form of adoption Russia has planned.
I just hope that Russia will not be as selfish as China because if that happens, it will be another loss for that country, and the crypto market will eventually face another market correction. However, i can see that bitcoin will be a great asset for  Russia and as Putin said, "Russia has a competitive advantage in crypto mining", and that made him think that crypto despite of its uncertainties and risks will be good enough for the country's progress.

1760  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Giving Bitcoin to Employees on: February 10, 2022, 09:29:14 PM
Sorry --- the employees will retain their fiat pay checks.
...

If you additionally, as an incentive, send bitcoins to the wallets of your employees, then none of the employees will object to such undertakings. But in any case, you will need to carry out informational work to explain to employees what BTC is and about its prospects in the future.
If it is given as an incentive then I doubt anyone will complain, after all who does not like like a little bit of more money at the end of the month, even if that money comes in a form they have never heard before no one is bound to complain, however as mentioned by other members, if this is being done to help them so they not only rely on fiat for their savings when they retire then it is important to give them some financial education as well, otherwise it is entirely possible they convert that bitcoin to fiat immediately and spend it.
Employees value their job if they are given incentives in return so if bitcoin will be given to them, the first thing that they will think is to convert it into fiat. But if they are now familiar with bitcoin already and its potentials as a good investment, they will keep it automatically. But for those who don't even know bitcoin, they should be given free education about crypto and bitcoin so they will learn how to manage it or value it in the near future.
