1761  Economy / Gambling / Re: [0.025 giveaway!] Play poker with multiple crypto currencies [crypto-poker.net] on: February 25, 2014, 12:20:18 PM
There are obviously different kind of ways to gamble money.

I would say that Poker is the "least gambling" of them all. Better yet, you can actually have a very good edge and with proper BRM you can be certain to make a profit. Therefor a lot of good players do not see it as gambling but as a skill game or even as a job.

A Ponzi is on the other side of that. It's gambling on whenever you will be scammed or not. It's not really gambling, it's hoping to not be scammed. Calling a ponzi "a way to earn money" is a joke, and if a poker site says that, then to me the site must be also a joke.

But good luck with your site.
1762  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✔130% Ponzi ,Best Ponzi Ever! on: February 25, 2014, 11:30:48 AM
Another "brand new" "free hosting (ready to run away) yolasite" "5 minutes to set up" ponzi.

YEEH.

At least buy a normal domain/hosting.

To all: don't be an idiot. Just ignore this "website". Thank you.
1763  Economy / Gambling / Re: [0.025 giveaway!] Play poker with multiple crypto currencies [crypto-poker.net] on: February 25, 2014, 11:21:48 AM
Lol, poker site that runs a ponzi. That's a site I will never join.

Yeh Namecheap and make sure to also add WhoisGuard Smiley
1765  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi world taking over gambling section on: February 24, 2014, 02:38:01 PM
regardless of the content of the ponzis, they are breaking the "one site per thread" rule by copy-pasting the scams to new domains almost daily.

I'm all for "games and rounds" housing them all for now also if making a new sub is too hard.
Hmm... I did not notice that! If it's truly the case that they are buying a domain just to bypass the uniqueness rule, then clearly they are violating that rule. I'll look into this.
Actually most ponzi sites don't even buy hosting/domain. They are on sites like:

*.yolasite.com, *.webs.com, *.byethost.com, *.net84.net, *.1ufh.com

Obviously many are from 1 user. Just check posts like:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483162.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483633.0
The posts are literally the same.

Honestly it's really out of hand. The problem is that a ponzi might run for like 10 idiots "investments" and after that no one makes a depo so the owner can run with the money. Then he will have to make a new website/account to keep running his ponzi schemes. Since he has to make a new site every few days he will use free hosting sites.

1) Can you guys at least make a new forum for it? Just call it Ponzi/HYIP?

2) Also could there be a requirement that a Gambling topic at least need an own domain name? No free sub-domain / hosting? That would clear 90% of them and especially the ones that are even scamming and spamming extra hard (not giving any money back.)

I will be happy to report them (like I am reporting others topics too) but the rules are not completely clear for me. At this point I am only reporting them if they don't have a website at all.
1766  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Trusted and Scam Ponzi Site List on: February 24, 2014, 02:05:15 PM
All ponzi sites are scams. You are "betting" or "gambling" on the fact if you will be scammed or not. It's just as much "gambling" as "selling bitcoins for paypal to newbies".. maybe you will get your money and maybe not. (read: it's not gambling, it's hoping to not get scammed)

They really should make subforum for all these ponzi/moneymaking/fake investment/HYIP shit.

But if you want to join them.. its fine to me. JUST DO 1 THING PLEASE PONZI FANS. do NOT join these ponzi with free hosting websites. So anything *.yolasite.com, *.webs.com, *.byethost.com, *.net84.net, *.1ufh.com. If the owner of your so very legitimate "gambling" site cannot even afford some hosting for a few dollar, then DO NOT TRUST IT. These are probably just 1 guy making new accounts and making these sites in a few minutes to run after a few transactions with your money. Do not join them at least (and like I said: IN MY OPINION do not join any ponzi, but up 2 yourself.)
1767  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Overview of Bug Bounty Programs for Bitcoins on: February 24, 2014, 01:56:57 PM
You are welcome.

I only know these programs since a few days but already found 4 vulnerabilities in 3 different sites (non very crucial, mostly XSS) but definitely having fun, still learning new things and getting some bounties Smiley
1768  Economy / Lending / Re: Our foundation looking for 7BTC loan on: February 23, 2014, 06:55:44 PM
Collateral? No one is just gonna give you 7 bitcoins. Also it might seem that "our foundation" sounds more reliable but to me it looks even more sketchy.. what foundation is this? And for the last 2 days you are looking to buy 8 bitcoins, why did you change your mind and want to loan it instead?
1769  Bitcoin / Project Development / Overview of Bug Bounty Programs for Bitcoins on: February 23, 2014, 02:22:29 PM
In this topic I would like to make an overview of (all) vulnerability reward programs within the bitcoin community (and/or programs with bitcoin rewards.) If you are aware of a security bounty which is not yet listed, please share it with us Smiley

Not allowed on probably all websites:
  • DDoS / DoS
  • Using automated software (including brute forcing)
  • Sharing the vulnerabilities without disclose first (some do allow after fix)
  • Exploit the vulnerability in a malicious way / steal private info / etc

Make sure to read the specific terms for each program first !!

Please share other websites that are running security bounties for bitcoin rewards. You may also share your experience with any of these programs. Have fun with hacking and be responsible Smiley

Are you a website owner?
If you own a website, consider running a vulnerability reward program too! This way your website will be more secure and there is a much bigger chance that a whitehat (non-harmful) hacker helps you with the security instead of a blackhat hacker who abuses vulnerabilities. Look at these example websites for information how to run a program like that. Making a page on your site + topic here should be enough.
1770  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: User liveHS is a scammer on: February 23, 2014, 12:28:06 AM
Why would you just send 1.575 bitcoin (almost 1000 dollar) to a random stranger on the Internet Sad Even his account is only 2 weeks old with mostly useless posts. I know it's too late now, but: always use trusted escrow.

That address is also mentioned in another scam story:

Hello everyone, I tried to sell my bitcoins on a dutch site called 'marktplaats'. When someone wanted to buy them he told my if he could see my bitcoins at teamviewer, so I give him my id and pass. Then my screen froze and I saw him trying to move the bitcoins to his own wallet. Hes wallet is: 16yJTFDefLyE41HCfUtUbXtXDTQtbLQxuo. Luckily I could open task manager just in time and close teamviewer. I already sent him 0.01 two times because he wanted to see how withdraw works... I cant believe that I almost fell for this scam. Can anyone maybe trace him and tells me where he exactly lives etc? I already know his name is 'Geert' and lives in the netherlands.

So yeh most likely gone, sorry man.

What?

You can internally transfer chips to each other.. yes.
1772  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Millions of coins in Cryptsy - How risky? on: February 21, 2014, 12:00:28 PM
Just imagine that MtGox was once the only serious big exchange for bitcoin.. and yet people have a lot of money stuck up there now. Anything can definitely happen to Cryptsy too. IMO don't keep more there than u can afford to lose. Also make sure to use Two-Factor Authentication on Cryptsy.

edit: that being said. Keeping them on your own PC also has flaws. It would be more vulnerable for viruses I think. I don't know the $ value of 200 millions of "an alt-coin" but I guess you could even consider a cold storage if it's a lot and you want to keep it for long-term.
1773  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: confirmation times on: February 20, 2014, 08:45:48 PM
You can always check https://blockchain.info/ to see the latest blocks. Generally if you put enough fee it will be included in the first next block.

On https://blockchain.info/stats there are also some statistics of the last 24h. It says: Time Between Blocks: 8.23 (minutes) which seems like a normal average.

If you normally get a confirmation in seconds, you were most likely lucky.

Lol @ poll.. between 100 and 1000 dollars is impossible? :p I think it will stay around 110 for a little while.

1777  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetcoinPoker.com-17 DAILY GTD TOURNAMENTS-3 Player Min -0% RAKE! - 100% Bonus on: February 19, 2014, 10:03:35 PM
Thank you guys for your feedback.  Several of the tournaments had incorrect late registration inputs.  Each tournament will now have 8 levels of late registration and not the default that was set at 20.

With regard to the timezone, we will fill out the full tournament schedule to have tournaments running 24 hours each day all GTD very shortly.
IMO 80 minutes will still be way too long for tourneys with 5 - 20 players, IMO it should be like 10 - 30 mins MAX... but up to u guys of course.

With the times I meant the time it shows in the client and at the tourneys. It says 17:03 EST right now but it would be easier if it shows my local time of 23:03 - especially for the tourney times. I can understand if the tourneys are focused on USA visitors, that's no problem.

I have only tried Private Internet Access by paying w BTC: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ and I did like them (yet I have no comparison vs others.)

They are a sponsor of this forum too (for hosting I think.)
1779  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetcoinPoker.com-17 DAILY GTD TOURNAMENTS-3 Player Min -0% RAKE! - 100% Bonus on: February 19, 2014, 09:22:16 PM
Few things:

- Late reg is now 15 levels on tourney like 50 large gtd. That's 150 minutes - 2 hours and 30 minutes - of late reg of a tourney with like 5 - 20 people. That must be a mistake ? :p Even stars doesn't have that long of a late reg with thousands of players.

- Is there already a possibility to change the times to my own timezone?

Besides that, I guess it looks good. I am planning to play some of them soon.

Just want to say that my account is indeed still working without any problems.

Obviously when "some codes" are canceled, it does make me wonder if your supplier or whatever is really legit. But it was a gamble from the start, I hope mine keeps working Tongue
