1761  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia to make bitcoin a currency on: February 09, 2022, 08:13:48 PM
Considering the fact that the Russian economy is struggling and at the same time the COVID cases are not getting better I do think that this mindset could help them. This can also be in preparation of the war that they might be about to start as well. Bitcoins can help get the funding in place and sending would be more easier since they were trying to do it with the gold deposits that Putin has saved up. But at the end of the day it's an amazing place for mining and soon enough this might not only be profitable for them but can also encourage other countries as well. But I am not really sure that it's something that can be trusted. *We will have to wait for a proper white paper or a law*
Bitcoin will turn to be a good asset for Russia since it will minimize the threat to Russia's financial system. I think just like El Salvador, they start to believe that bitcoin will be a hedge against inflation and it will totally improve the struggling economy of Russia since its also widely affected with this covid 19 economic crisis. And to think that adopting of bitcoin could lessen the growth of poverty rate, then putting it in a law will be good enough for legalization.
1762  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 09, 2022, 12:49:58 PM

Good luck, sana tuloy-tuloy pa rin panalo natin.

Swerte ng mga tao dito, hehe,, panalo na naman @bisdak40, come from behind ang panalo ng Phoenix, at totoo, napakaganda talaga ng laro, parang pag NBA Finals na. Congrats sayo bro, more winning bets pa, baka sasabay nalang muna ako sa inyo.

Sabay nalang tayo sa mga swerte, hehe..

Pumusta na rin pala ako para bukas, at konte lang ang mga bets ko, kaya share ko na rin.

1. Warriors ML
2. Portland ML (big time bet ito) GL sa akin
3. Bulls -3
1763  Economy / Speculation / Re: What make people panic sell? on: February 09, 2022, 11:54:16 AM

Indeed, it is difficult to find the exact time when the price is experiencing a deep correction. But for me personally, I don't care about the price slump in the market because as a long-term trader, I still believe the price of Bitcoin will be in a bullish trend this year.

In that case, any market situation is suitable for you as you are into long-term investment. Well, that's good but if you like to be more profitable, you can try to do short-term trading and take advantage on the market volatility, with skills in trading, you can surely make more as the market is very volatile especially during the bear and bull market.
1764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 09, 2022, 11:28:17 AM

Nice to see that game schedules are out. I miss that "Paper" they are posting on their Facebook when they release the schedule.

This will be a good topic to share here, what do you think guys about the future of NorthPort Batang Pier? Just to give others an idea, their players, Robert Bolick, Greg Slaughter, and Nico Elorde have yet to sign an extension with the Batang Pier.

The PBA is just about a few days to go to commence again but still no progress about these players' respective contracts.

NorthPort have signed Roy Sumang so i think they are filling the spot of the point guard position in case Robert Bolick and Nico Elorde won't be back to their line-up.

Greg Slaughter is a restricted free agent so i think he will be back with NorthPort to man the middle, they just have to offer what's best for this gentle giant and surely he will be back with them.
Did a quick search into Sumang and it seems that he just came back after at least a year of not playing.
His last conference where he played was in 2020 in Blackwater where he averaged 10 points per game there.

Its a good think that NorthPort gave him another chance. With regards to Slaughter, I hope that he will stay with NorthPort. The team and his training session outside PH is the reason why he is better now and he is a good addition to the team and he is fit with the roster.

He really fits on the Northport, the team is more competitive with him. I guess, since he was ditch away by an SMB team, if he will ever play, he would not choose any of the SMB teams but probably would play with the TNT, just my wild speculation.
1765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to reinvest into Altcoins? on: February 08, 2022, 09:58:50 PM
No doubt to reinvest because the market looks promising in February, I hope the bad trend from December and January does not happen again so we can get a big profit. And now everything starts to look real because the market continues to grow and today has risen more than 8%.

The market is changing, February is always know to be a bullish months but this month started with a bear signal although things are beginning to get into shape as we have seen some signals of a bullish Market upfront. What we should be worried about is the next month coming. In the past it has been the worst months as many has lost so much in this time due to market correction. Taking profit as the next bullish market comes is the safest option and wait for the market to correct before rebuying.
I think we are not yet over with this bearish season as the recovery of the market has just started so it has bigger chances that the market cannot sustain it and we will experience another correction again. And once there is correction, it will open doors for good opportunities to start investing. However, i also don't see wrong moves investing in altcoins right now as long as we are buying those coins with great potentials. The market is very dynamic and we all know that, but having those good altcoins in our portfolio is a good proof that we should not be worry about when the market starts to become a roller coaster again.

Hi Guys,

I come to find out i have to reevaluate my game and seriously need a beginner crypto trading course.
Does anybody know a good course for beginners? I would really appreciate your input.

I know, that all the Information is available for free if you do your own research, but due to job and family i have not too much time therefore i need it compressed in a course.

Thanks in advance.

I understand how hard is your situation but to tell you what, everything has been done not in an easy way. Even those who have a lot of spare time still struggle to learn to trade and do market analysis, and that much more in your situation. But if you are determined to learn about trading, definitely you won't feel it hard instead, it challenges you more on how to achieve your goal.
There are a lot of sources of information online which is free but if you want the paid option, that is still available as well. I think watching online tutorials are good enough but the most important is to experience.
in learning to trade, the foremost thing is to study trading theory, so that we can understand what things to learn or use a certain technique to make a profit. and I also agree that in fact we have had enough by studying tutorials on the internet, and after that experience will be the best teacher in trading until we can be consistent. Of course, we have to face all problems happily, so as not to let our spirits down
Yes at this time we are actually very easy to learn to trade and a lot of information too,
but what we need to realize is that we must learn from clear sources,
The most important thing is that before entering the market we must really prepare both from knowledge, skills and mentally
Yes. Without knowledge, skills and dedication, our trades will only be put into waste. But i definitely agree that trading is hard particularly for beginners but if you have the right attitude and courage to learn trading, eventually you will succeed in trading. And of course, be open for more changes and accept the fact that even how good you become, losses are still inevitable. However, trading is best learned if you have the proper guide and strategic plan on how to do it. So i am sharing this for beginners courses in trading, you may want to check. https://www.investopedia.com/best-day-trading-courses-5176199
1767  Economy / Economics / Re: IMF urges El Salvador to remove Bitcoin as legal tender on: February 07, 2022, 09:31:46 PM
I'm assuming the recommendation is coming from the idea that El Salvador might use some borrowed funds to buy bitcoin.

I'm not certain on that but if it is the case, it'll reduce the countries chances of paying back debts in the immediate term (for example, if the price crashes).

Fees would probably be the thing to complain about with bitcoin and not inflation but there's potential el Salvador did this because the imf didn't offer them much in the first place.

Certainly prices have been dropped a lot and the same case is in front of them now. I think there has to be well thought plan when El Salvador first thought of going all crypto! They must have had plan for such calamities as they every kid around the globe know how unstable the crypto currencies are. I’m certain that IMF is also trying to be one of the authority who wants to show everyone that they are not in favour of crypto currencies. So they are going all harsh about it and trying to manipulate other through this act of Cold War.

Obviously they have power because they have funds for lending and they will also be partnered by those governments who wish to take down the crypto from face of the earth.

You see the picture here ?
Since IMF is covered by the most of the centralized countries, then it should promote the use of fiat or dollar, and should show opposition on bitcoin or any decentralized cryptocurrency. But in case with El Salvador, IMF has no power to control the decision of a president whether to drop bitcoin or not. But i'm afraid that El Salvador will be deprived for some loan opportunities from other big companies in the future as IMF has all its strong connections to most of the lending companies. Bitcoin may be a big barrier for now, but it can also make a big difference for El Salvador once it will prosper and reach a gigantic price increase in the future.
1768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 04, 2022, 09:32:48 PM
I think I'll take this, I like the Atlanta Hawks chances at ML here, another bet I'll be taking this night would be Chicago Bulls -2.5 vs Indiana Pacers.

GL!

Good luck on the Hawks, Raptors are on a winning streak but Hawks also have a great record on their last 10 games, they are 8-10 in the last 10 games and that's very impressive knowing they have a bad start. However, I will not be riding you with your pick, instead, I'll go with the Bulls spread. (also posted that in   our local board.
1769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: February 04, 2022, 08:45:40 PM

He loses not because of his trash talk, it's because of his strategy inside the ring, not outside. If it's in his nature that he trash talks his opponent, then he will do that with anyone as that's his style and he thinks he can get the attention of the fans to watch the fight, besides, it's the viewers which are more important as they are fighting for the price.

I never knew that Thurman was such a trash talker until he fought Pacman, but what I like about him is he has the sportsmanship which other boxers don't have, he humbly accepted his defeat after, so I'm sure he will become a champion again because he accepts his defeat so he will improve as a boxer.
1770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 04, 2022, 08:19:09 PM
Vogel has to go.
Lakers loose again. Reggie Jackson outclassed the Lakers without the assistant of PG and Leonard. As the clippers get the W. Am not sure if it's too management or vogel's management but ty Lue out classes again. I reckon the Lakers will make the playoffs but there is too much talent at the moment in the league and I don't think that the Lakers have the pieces. On a lighter note AD is looking tremendous.
Getting double doubles and scoring 30 is looking in great shape but still fragile.

Did you guys see how Reggie Jackson galloped him way down the court to hit the game winner? Absolutely bonkers.

It's funny how Reggie was the backup to Westbrook at OKC but now he is just completely outclassing him.

I agree though, Vogel has to 100% go. It's clear that Ty Lue is 10x a better coach and the Clippers are winning more games than the Lakers without a single allstar on their squad.

Don't mention it, that's too obvious, they are going on a different path and the Clippers are having some fun now despite missing PG and Leonard. I'm afraid that most of our expectations will be wrong if the Clippers will make it to the playoffs, they are just very competitive now and they don't make the excuse of not having their 2 all-stars that's why they will tank.
1771  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 04, 2022, 07:55:30 PM
Clippers -3.5. tatalunin nila ang Lakers.  Smiley

Bawi nalang ulit ngayon, baka this time mag cover na ang spread.

Chicago Bulls vs Indiana Pacers, Bulls ako -2 kahit na kakagaling lang ng  laro at nag OT pa.
Kailangan ng Bulls makabawi at manalo dito, kaya walang duda bulls ako.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 04, 2022, 02:07:19 PM
As for the Warriors, they have won the game but only managed to cover a 12 points from the -13.5 spread. But as I said, it's fine because we will definitely bounce back too.

Warriors were in control of the game, they even lead as much as 20 points in the game but they allow the Kings to get close to the spread in the 2nd half. Just one of the games you thought you'll win but in the end, the opposing team still cover the handicap.

Yeah, go bounce back, and good luck!
1773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 04, 2022, 01:27:49 PM

If the Ateneo Blue Eagle can afford him, I'm sure the SBP can afford him more. I don't think it's an issue of money, he work as a coach before, so that proves the SBP can afford his talent fee, whatever you call it. There's no other option for now, it's either him or coach Chot, but we also have Tim Cone, I wonder if they'll try to convince him as well.

A simple logic here, a college school can afford him how much more the National right? if it's about the money funds is easier to produce.

There's an internal talk about this and for sure coach Tab agrees with what SBP and MVP offers him, whatever it is we know the influenced of Boss Manny

and what he can do for this team, putting coach Chot will allow him to add more.

Don't get me wrong but for me, it's all about business and the money that it will produce for the company, exposures and more advertisement  Roll Eyes

Business as usual, but we know every time the Gilas Pilipinas are playing, they seem to be promoting smart, so it's MP promotionn. Well, we never know what's the real reason, so we should stop speculating, but about coach Tab, I think I remember in the past he said something bad about the PBA, I guess that was on imports.
1774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to buy? on: February 03, 2022, 11:38:47 PM
Is it a good time to buy now? It looks like the bears have subsided. 30k resistance point is still holding strong. What do you guys think?
If the price is at the dip, then yes, it is a good time to buy. But if you want to wait for another dip, then you should wait and see. But if the price is not down again instead of trying to increase and you are not yet to buy, you should regret it because your time is gone and you need to wait for another correction. Only you can determine when the good time to buy because our time to buy will be different. So you need to analyze by yourself to find the time. I consider this time is a good time to buy for a small amount.

Precisely, if you already missed the chance, regret is the only thing inside you, but if you are positive that you are capable of adjusting
and you can still work it out riding in the next run. Sparing good amounts of money to invest is your priority.
It will going to depend on how you perceive things out. Think of every opportunity to be your shot to earn a decent amount of
profits.
That is, if you think investing in every dip is a good opportunity. But if you think that you have to wait for more dips because you have limited funds, then you should  always be ready to lose another chances as the market never pumps or dumps consistently. You should know that the market is very unpredictable so you need to prepare funds ahead of time, most likely in times of bullish. So that once good opportunity to buy comes, you will always take advantage of the market and never miss any single opportunity.
1775  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Company on: February 03, 2022, 11:00:53 PM
Hello bitcointalknairs please I will like to get clarifications on something, I received an email from trading brokers that I can lunge my funds with them and they execute trades on my behalf but I am afraid of the legitimacy of such services because most of them always turn out to be scammers.
What is your experience with trading brokers?
I don't think this trading broker is genuine, they are scammers, because no genuine broker will send you personal message to come and invest, well try and make research about the broker and be convince before you put in your money, but if I were you I won't invest because is better to trade on your own than for a broker to trade on your behalf.
And I agree, something like that is extremely suspicious, not only that it makes no sense at all, some of the best traders and investors around the world have a bunch of people interested in hiring their services but they simply refuse because they are already comfortable with the number of customers they have, if a broker needs to go out there to try to get clients in this way there are only two explanations for it, he s a scammer or he is so bad that no client wants to hire him.
Either of the two, trusting your trades into a trading broker won't make you improve yourself and make you a good trader. Even if he is a legit trading broker, and he happens to win the trade, the experience will be credited to him and not to yours. So if you are just after the money, then you can look for legit trading brokers that have successful experiences. But if you are on the part that you want to improve your craft as a good trader someday, then you have to embrace even the losses in trading because that experience will always bring good lessons for you.
1776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was finally able to purchase an iPhone 13 pro max using my Bitcoin on: February 03, 2022, 10:29:52 PM
I went to buy a phone with my friend today. Going there, Iphone 13 pro max became my favorite phone.  And arouses interest in buying. But I did not have enough money to buy that phone in my pocket. I laugh and talk about Bitcoin to the owner of that showroom. I was surprised to that the owner of that showroom want to sell his phone to me  for Bitcoin. And I asked him again, "Are you kidding me?"then He immediately gave me a bitcoin wallet to pay him. I paid him bitcoin and bought the Iphone 13 pro max.

Since the price of Bitcoin has come down a lot now, it has become foolish for me to buy the phone with Bitcoin.  Because for that I have to spend more bitcoin.  But still I am very happy to be able to do it.  Because in my country Bitcoin is still declared as an illegal currency.  Nevertheless, I got this advantage

This is the advantage of Bitcoin, even though we live in a country where Bitcoin is considered illegal and it is forbidden to use Bitcoin. We can still
buy the things we want with Bitcoin, the most important thing is that there is an agreement between the two parties. If the seller wants to be paid
in Bitcoin and we who are buying are willing to pay in Bitcoin, buying and selling any goods can be done. What you did, I have actually done it,
because it doesn't feel perfect for me if I only use Bitcoin as an investment, without ever trying to use Bitcoin as a means of payment. Even though
I am like you, living in a country where Bitcoin is considered illegal as a means of payment. And in my opinion there is no need to regret because
you bought an Iphone 13 pro max with Bitcoin, as long as you are happy and no one is harmed in my opinion there is nothing to worry about.
This is the good thing about being decentralized, you can transact as much as you want as long there is agreement between the two parties, without being regulated by a higher entity. In fact, there are a lot of scenarios that prove bitcoin is beyond useful than fiat, plus you can carry it more secured because there is no physical representation on it unlike fiat. And for OP, its a great feeling that you finally use your bitcoin as to where its intended to use, as a currency.
1777  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 03, 2022, 09:30:24 PM

Smiley
1778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will 2022 be the year of ETH 2.0? on: February 03, 2022, 06:06:22 PM
For now, it was still a rumor and people had made no clear vision in regards to such an upgrade, In fact, some say ETH 3.0 will come as well. I don't know and I'm not yet convinced how this upgrade helps the market and the high fees issues that has being a problem to the people, traders, and investors for many years.

Honestly, you're not just in doubt, the majority has done it the same. It can only be done and eliminate the doubts once proven but for now, that still remains as usual.
actually what makes the difference if they actually created ETH 3.0 because their main problem is still not resolved properly.
I know their connoisseurs won't be too affected by anything but as you said, gas problem continues to be their natural problem and can't be solved till now.
I personally started to reduce my activities in ETH because of the cost of gas and started switching to other competitors who did offer something cheaper.
I still like them but their gas makes me unable to do much there
We cannot blame if people will switch into ethereum's top competitors as ethereum gas fees has always been higher that in the long run only rich people can afford. And i don't think Vitalik's team is not aware of this. They are now working on this and the effect will be mostly seen once ETH 2.0 will be launched soon. However, i've come to this statement from my depth in research and got shocked of what i learned that ethereum high gas fees are indeed a good sign. Here's the link:https://moralis.io/ethereum-gas-fees-the-ultimate-2022-guide/
1779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will competitors defeat ETH due to ever-increasing gas fees? on: February 03, 2022, 03:38:12 AM
Despite the expensive ethereum gas, I don't think it's easy to beat ethereum in the field of the network they have trusted for a long time. The positive side of the high gas of ethereum makes the projects that rise on the ethereum network more serious so that there are not many scam projects that are published here.
Imagining the wide network that Ethereum has, that can't be easy to compete with. Maybe they could win in the other field like fees but that doesn't mean that they are winning already entirely. It could be somehow the competition couldn't just measure by its fees but of course, a lot of things to consider like volume, market prices, etc...
And I don't think that Mr. Vitalik will just let it happen but for sure he will take aggressive action against it.
I guess the developers team of ethereum have planned it out on how to reduce the transaction fees since they are also aware on the problem. But there is no concrete date when will it happen. Despite that, i can see that ethereum will not be easily beaten by its competitors because its still the most established smart network wherein people have build their trust on it. Even the chief of Solana can attest to that and believed that its impossible to kill ethereum. Read it further here: https://www.quora.com/Which-is-most-likely-to-replace-Ethereum-Solana-Cardano-or-Polkadot-cryptocurrency

However, JP Morgan has his own interpretation on the problem. Check it here: https://www.businessinsider.in/cryptocurrency/news/ethereum-may-not-have-too-long-to-get-its-high-gas-fee-issue-in-check-according-to-jpmorgan/articlesho
1780  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do people overestimate BTC? on: February 02, 2022, 11:46:21 PM
Don't you think that this estimation has brought BTC to this level. Yes its kind of marketing. Over estimation attracts more investors into crypto industry. And often this estimation has turned real to many investors. I mean, those who invested and waited for a long, have earned much and later it has become true that investing on Bitcoin will turn out more returns. So how can we say it. Shall we say its practical rather than an estimation.
The crypto crowd may have overestimated the demand for bitcoin but its because we can see that there is great potentials in bitcoin that made it to where it is right now. In fact, this overestimation has even created price predictions that are too far from the reality if we view it in the current market situation, but if we will see it from the bullish part of the market, of course the price will always be attainable. This overestimation for btc made the people more convinced that there is more to bitcoin than simply relying on fiat alone.
