1821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Ryzen hashrate? on: October 22, 2017, 01:48:09 AM
i suppose xmr stack cpu gives u the highest hashrate.  im currently running amd ryzen 1700(no x version) on asus x370 pro  @3.850mhz stock air cooler. getting about 550h/s in claymore.hadnt time to oc better. should have configured xmr stack.
u know what is best about ryzen?  even if i put load on 8 real cores ,i have no drop in hashrate for any gpus. this is way beyond expectations as intels are the other way around.i dont know why mining ppl do not buy amd for their rigs. the mainboards northbridge chip is also cool at load.

tweak : just remember  to activate 'high performance' in power options of windows. if not, u will get about 350h/s
dont forget to enable 'lock pages in memory'  as well.

how about power usage ? is it stable when you are activating high performance ? need more info about this ryzen
want to build new ryzen rig, since im amd big fans hehehe

We have 5 Ryzen CPUs in my wife's small mining farm and 2 Ryzen CPUs in personal computers. They have all been CPU mining for several months at a minimum and we have never had a single issue with them. They are very stable and power consumption is quite reasonable if you don't overvolt them. Temperatures are lower then when running CPU benchmarks or stress tests too. Ie. mining has lower temps then running Cinebench etc...

what are u mining ? with rizen ? i tried bible pay but ryzen is terrible on that, way slower than I7
1822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining disaster with 34 L3+ ASICs, need some serious help!!!! on: October 22, 2017, 01:47:13 AM
I wonder if the electric company is throttling my service or something? That would explain why all of them were affected (and the fan too). Maybe some machines are more sensitive to decreased wattage/voltage than others, which explains why now some work and some don't? And that would explain why the lighted ends of the extension cords still work, yet they won't power a miner. It's clear whatever happened was a result of some house electrical problem (again, the fan) but the question is, did it do lasting damage to the miners.
Also, an electrical surge doesn't seem likely since miners in both the attic (behind a whole-house surge protector at the sub-panel) and miners in the garage (no surge protection) were affected. Other than a surge, what sort of electrical derangement can permanently damage a miner?

yeah take one of the bad miners to a working outlet and see if it works , do this one by one to trouble shoot all of them and separate the bad from the good.

I have a 50 amp surge protection on my panels as well and it has saved my equpiment from brownouts several times

btw you would have got a letter from the power company , if there was an issue and they cant throttle your power , its either on or off unless they come out and fuck with the meter
1823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 21, 2017, 07:52:54 PM
And what is better to buy: Vega56 or GTX1080 ?
waiting for nonreference models of vega. the price is practically similar and I dont know what GPU to buy  Huh

got two vega 56 today , $459 each

flashed them with 64 bios and they both do 40 mhs eth

I will switch them to monero tomrow, I think its a no brainer vs the 1080ti or 1080

vega 56 all the way

I still think its better howerver to buy 2 rx 580 4GB for $250  than a vega or 1080
1824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining disaster with 34 L3+ ASICs, need some serious help!!!! on: October 21, 2017, 05:36:00 AM
It could be a heat problem i heard l3 plus is sensitive to temps over 75

I still cant belive you ran 30 l3 in a house lol on 200 amp no less , just get a warehouse or host em bro
1825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Temperature error? EThereum miner GTX1070 on: October 20, 2017, 11:46:22 PM
1070 solo mining ahould be 181 mhs
1826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: October 19, 2017, 03:55:43 PM
Some update on the 9 x PCI slot motherboard.

The cables provided are 6pins on both ends, but the socket along the PCI slots are all female 8pins... I assume that I could use the 6pin when inserted far right. I have done odd connections like this in the past when dealing with Bitmain PSUs.

I am waiting for confirmation from vendor so that I can be sure before I power it up.

A single Delta 2400w PSU would have no problems with this board.

Question is .... what GPU was this board intended for? My guess will be 1060/1070 or RX470/480.

yeah i prefer pcie to power as wel since its easier to power off a delta
withthe other one you need adapters.  how much did it all cost

1827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: October 19, 2017, 04:19:29 AM
Argh I want these boards so bad! The pictures in here keep teasing me. I'd love to get rid of my risers and clunky stands..

Hey sootha - long time no see.

All the boards that I am testing - got them from here:

ONDA D1800 board:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100-New-in-BOX-for-Onda-D1800-BTC-Mining-Machine-Mining-Motherboard-Support-6-cards-All/32831833090.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.oTquOF

9xslot board (various versions, with and without chassis)
https://panto.en.alibaba.com/product/60667704668-803289429/customized_ethereum_miner_mining_machine_motherboard.html?spm=a2700.8304367.rect38f22d.4.164553c0CIiaYL

I like that middle one with the standard socket but in the description it says Intel J1800 2.4 GHz Dual Core Processor so it makes me wonder.   I almost didn't see the 4 1x PCIe slots near the sata and molex connectors.

Makes me wonder too - always verify with seller on the actual items with pictures etc.

Personally, I prefer all 6pin power connectors (eventually getting rid of PICO too)

Meanwhile, DHL sent me a reminder for the delivery of 9 x slot mobo;  end of day 19 Oct. I have identified an existing RX470 rig for testing.

BTW, inspired by generalt, I have changed my signature to my permanent BTC address for this Bitcointalk account.

Its going to be my tip jar to raise money for plane ticket to Labrador, Canada -- LOL!

Just kidding, dont send anything to this address  Grin

ONDA B250-BTC-D8P board (Phil check this out - custom CPU, DDR4)
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2017-New-12-PCIE-Motherboard-Manufacturer_60699584995.html?spm=a2700.details.maylikever.9.4dc4ffe5MQkqOz

I would do a group buy for this.  we need to buy 20 pieces.

I have never done a deal with alibaba   but I want this board.

Put me down for one if it does have a socket for the CPU and not something soldered on.

Citronick:  Simply putting it in your signature is not enough.  Once they have your account they can just delete the signature from your profile like they did mine.
I would be interested in two to test
1828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I'm looking to spend $40,000 on mining rigs. Any suggestions? on: October 18, 2017, 03:24:09 PM
All comes down to electricity price - if you pay like 7c/kW or less then gtx 1070 is probably the best option.

Why not get a vega at the same price? Power draw is a little more but it gets way more hash in monero and dual mining.

what is vega dual mining eth and dcr/ lbry ?
1829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is mining still profitable? on: October 18, 2017, 03:20:04 PM
yeah i ordered bitcoin miners from bitmain, but the recently raised thier prices so no more orders from me for a while
1830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Byzantium hard fork LIVE on: October 18, 2017, 07:48:15 AM
Hello guys!

My rigs are mining more Eth after the hardfork.

From 0,042 Eth daily to 0.052 Eth daily after the fork. So it is better!

it is better for time being until difficulty catches up
then we will be back to what it was before

difficulty already back to where it was , we are making around 10% more than before
1831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal X10 December Batch pre-order started on: October 18, 2017, 07:47:11 AM
Hi, what is the new price? Any news about new algos?
Do they have delivered the october batch?

Cheers

October batch delay for 15 days. The Dec batch is $1399 per miner.

Ill wait till they actually deliver the october batch first lol

the colorful board isnt out yet

My stale shares % also went up a  it. But nothing alarming. Still hovering around 7% stale shares.
But also my estimated profits has went up quite a bit. I hope this stays or moves up a bit more.
Overall pretty happy with the results of the hard fork. Maybe im missing something. But really hoping this is permanent and not miners falling off at the moment.

Honestly i think the calcualtors are way off , I think they are not accounting for the drop in issuance from 5 to 3, and only taking the reduced block times into account.

I say this becase on ethpool i have been following this one miner, his hashrate is 12GHs, and he just now found another block.

His next estimated block is 3 days away solo mining , dividing 30/3days that means he will find 10 blocks approximately this month which is

30 eth ?

http://ethpool.org/miners/3e638b01e2846905982C8aC15Fa6Ae0710B29ea2/blocks

but according to the calulator he will make 90ish eth this month , something doesnt smell right to me man

either way he was making 50 eth a month before so if i am right he is now making far less than he did before

30 seems low so what i did is multiply his 94 eth on thier  calculator times .6 ( drop from 5 eth to 3) and I get 54 eth

I think thats his true payout.

so basically he gained only 4 eth from before the fork and the dificulty bomb , not quite the 12-20% they promised lol
1835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Byzantium hard fork LIVE on: October 17, 2017, 04:53:07 AM
Has anyone really seen increased mining rewards after Byzantium? Huh

Still no payout from ethpool here , They keep moving the goalposts

yestday it said i was 6 hrs from finding a block now its over a day

Im almost hoping the profitabilty goes down so we can all give a big fuck you to the eth dev team and move
our hash to bitcoin gold, such a large block reduction was a slap in the face
1836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Byzantium hard fork LIVE on: October 17, 2017, 03:26:52 AM
2% stale on ethpool
1837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Byzantium hard fork LIVE on: October 16, 2017, 03:07:35 PM
Before Smiley

After Smiley (10 hours later)

What does all this mean though? Is it a permanent drop or temporary
1838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining 2017? on: October 16, 2017, 02:47:34 PM
well I'll give another vote for aeon! mine it, it you have 4 cores CPU, with proper setting, it will be running in 50% of load when mining
the cryptonight-lite version of AEON algo is more power efficient so your cpu do not consume to much energy
with i5 like 6400 or something similar you'll get about 400-600 h/s
it will give you like 0,5 aeon per 2 days I guess.
so do not sell it, wait. once it will pump, say once in 2-3 month sell and earn x3 or x5 more profit

Any links to configs for Aeon ?

Did someone experience a hard drop in valid shares ?? Running claymore + ethermine

I did not touch anything.... 15 hours ago Many Many  ethermine pool switches happened , failovers, current hashrate divided by 2, very high rejected and stale shares... on my 7 rigs... I'm using eu1.ethermine.org  on port 14444 and 4444

Need help atm

I am using Claymore (Eth+Dcr) on ethermine eu pool. Nothing changed for me : no more rejected shares, hashrate still at 31.3 mh/s per card, no pool disconnection... Maybe try to restart your rigs.

31.3 mhs per card ? what cards are those?

Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ 8GB. Get 31.3+ eth and 935+ dcr
Do you have a memory errors in hwinfo? And can you write your fan and temperature?

I don't get any memory errors in hwinfo. Temp is 60-65°C. On the other side, my power draw seems to be a little hight. Saw some that had 130-140w per card in dual mining (if true...) I am at 165W per card and have free electricity. system is running stable, it is running for weeks without any issue.

I took the bios mod from buriedone : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiPCwJV_ryM

But with his MSI afterburner values my cards crashed.

My claymore config : 1230/2215 920/920

yeah thats too high power for me , 140 watts is my max so i cant dual mine with the 5x series.  The 4x series was way better on power , I dual mine with 480x and 470x at around 135 watt max
1840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Byzantium hard fork LIVE on: October 16, 2017, 02:18:18 PM
The reward dropped from 5 to 3 and the difficulty dropped from 3 to 2.1, so you miners lost 40% on the reward and gained 25% on the difficulty, block times from 30 to 15 seconds is related to the difficulty. Many trolls said with this update, you would be earning more money, which is not true as it stands. So meaning, you stupid miners are earning 15% less money with this update, correct me if I'm wrong or missed something.
You forgot to add your trademark "hehe" at the end of your (not very constructive) post. Interesting to see you troll every mining thread in here. If you're not mining, why do you stick around?

I'm happy mining XMR at the moment. Looks like I won't be switching (back) to ETH any time soon.

Mining XMR with what ? XMR has never been profitable over eth with Rx or Nvidia cards
