1821  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nitrogensports (Nitrobetting) are scamming, beware. on: July 10, 2022, 08:34:42 AM
Yeah, the story from their side is that they were not okay with me placing multiple bets of the same kind on the same outcome

If they warned you at least once already (in January, according to your screenshot), why did you continue to use your "method" of placing multiple bets on the same outcome? It seems to me that they actually gave you a second chance, but you chose to ignore it.
1822  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Double bitcoin scam websites on: July 10, 2022, 08:08:09 AM
For thousands of years, it is the greed of people to make big money quickly, without putting in a lot of effort, that drives such scams. This human flaw has resulted in countless frauds all over history and it is shocking how many people still fall for it. People are lured into a big deal that can not be proven as real, on the cheap, with barely any marketing.

It is only through knowledge that you can prevent such things from happening to yourself or to your friends and family, no matter what the big deal of the day is. Always do your own research, be skeptical of any offers you come across that sound too good to be true. Remember, we have the internet and other internet-based services which allow us to know, as much as possible, before taking any action that would compromise our interests.
1823  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Hopefully someone can help on: July 09, 2022, 10:59:59 PM
Op, for someone supposedly located in the USA, you seem to have quite a language issue. Not only do you have a vocabulary problem, you don't seem to know the basics of grammar and spelling.

If you received something that does not belong to you, the best thing to do is return it to the rightful owner. It can be a very important sum of money for someone. Imagine that you are on the other side, and that you didn't get the product you paid for. I suggest that you should do what is right and explore all available options for returning miners instead of trying to sell them for personal profit.
1824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find recent accouncements on: July 09, 2022, 10:43:15 PM
How do I find new announcements in announcements (Altcoin) section? I want to see all the announcements that were recently posted. But whenever someone responds to an old announcement it bumps the post. So, How do I view only the new ones?

I suggest you try the Ninjastic.space search engine. You can filter the results to only a specific board and put -"Re" in the "Post Title" search field so that you list only topics and not replies.

For example:
https://ninjastic.space/search?board=159&title=-Re
1825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone reccomend solid bitcoin\crypto channels to learn and get latest info? on: July 09, 2022, 02:51:54 PM
I am not interested in trading but to be alert in current events. I know about BTC since 2011 though.

This topic by Ratimov compiles a great deal of information related to cryptocurrencies. It is worth checking out.

[HUGE LIST] Useful Crypto Links !!!

It has tons of information that will keep you busy for many months.
1826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin address re-usage can lead to theft of private keys on: July 03, 2022, 10:00:02 PM
Its no longer news of how cyber crimes is slowly creeping in on digital currencies and to this end, Bitcoin experts advise that the usage of Bitcoin addresses should be done once as it helps to curb the risk of users giving up vital information that could prove costly in the future.

What experts? Can you cite the sources on the basis of which you came to this conclusion?

Continuous use of this addresses can prove to be a bad idea for three reasons:

Number one (privacy) is the only valid reason as far as I am concerned. Two and three are complete nonsense.
1827  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Gov issued satoshis on: July 03, 2022, 09:38:28 PM
They look good at least.

Yes. While the coins look nice, the value is more in their material than in the amount of satoshis. Nevertheless, I would like to own one!
Who knows, one day 1000 satoshi might be worth enough to peel off that sticker.  Wink
1828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Then what will happen to your account? on: July 03, 2022, 08:42:39 PM
I do not see a reason for you to use the account of someone who has died, especially since most of the discussions in the forum are of a personal and scientific nature, and therefore the transfer of ownership will affect the quality of participation, as there is no difference between the account that was created now and the one that was created in 2010.
Therefore, there is no reason but to announce to the forum that he has passed away.

Don't see a reason? Let me give you a picture. Imagine you are living in the gold rush period and searching for gold in some backwater of the Wild West. Well, I bet for some members this forum is like they discovered gold, and it is new territory for them. Everyone is rushing around trying to get some! What if you could leave your gold mine to your children in the event of your untimely demise? That would be nice, right?
1829  Other / Meta / Re: What Would Be Your Reason to Leave Bitcointalk? on: July 03, 2022, 08:22:11 PM
As the poll is now closed, I cannot remember if I already voted or not. My choice would probably be "Age, family, life, and/or personal problems prevent me from being active.", although "Getting banned" is also a valid reason. However, I wonder how many people actually lied when choosing that option.  Cheesy
1830  Other / Meta / Re: Issues With The Forum's Search Engine on: July 03, 2022, 05:31:34 PM
I was (and am) still toying around with the idea of indexing all Bitcointalk topics, with a separate ElasticSearch engine.
~

The problem is that posts can be edited and content changed at any time, so you would have to reindex the content on a regular basis in order to maintain the most recent version. I do not know if this is even possible and it would probably require a lot of processing power and a lot of bandwidth. That is why third-party tools, like Ninjastic.space, are good for archiving posts, but they cannot fully replace forum search since their database is out of date.

EpochTalk will probably handle this issue differently, so perhaps we just have to wait for a new version of the forum software (if that ever happens).
1831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the world ready to embrace physical bitcoin? on: July 03, 2022, 03:18:03 PM
Just... Stop. Have you ever heard of Lealana? Casascius? BitBills? Coldkeys? CrytpoArt? There are soooo many physical makers of loaded coins/items/artwork out there, some of them will be definitive historical artifacts - Check this - https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/lots/view/3-WWDXU/2011-casascius-1-bitcoin-btc-loaded-firstbits-1b2q7cyc-series-1-casacius-error-brass-285-mm-ms-67-pcgs

Do you see how much that sold for over face?  Shocked
~

That's exactly why Oceat said physical bitcoins have value as collectibles. The coin from your example is so rare that its market value is therefore significantly higher than the nominal value.
1832  Economy / Reputation / Re: {Reference} Detailed reasons why you recieve a red feedback from me [campaigns]. on: July 03, 2022, 02:05:21 PM
You guys dont know about telegram domain?  Anyone can change. I was change my username then Anyone randomly used.

This still does not explain the use of the same profiles from other social networks, such as twitter and facebook...
But since you asked for it, I will continue my investigation:

Case 3:

Last year, in the Ethernity.CLOUD Bounty campaign, you made a POA post with the wrong account, which links you to another alt account of yours (this is the eighth one already, if I am not mistaken):

8. Tybi

Proof:

https://ninjastic.space/search?content=Tybi&topic_id=5354912

And you did it once again in the Cat Fish bounty campaign:

https://ninjastic.space/search?content=Tybi&topic_id=5357709

Account Tybi is self admitted alt account of another group of already tagged bounty cheaters.

Trust summary for Tybi

lovesmayfamilis    2021-09-17    Reference    An account owned by the cheaters' farm.

Should we continue?

Where I have admitted my mistake. thousand thousand Bounty Manager Scamming every day. What Kinds of step you're taking? Bounty manager when give stake on spreadsheet why some time mistake there? Why need to appeal for stake? If you have power you will ban Bounty Manager? Or Put them to jail?

If what you say is true, then perhaps you can explain this:

Case 1:

1. cryptofarid10
2. Motin9
3. MOOMTUCH

All of these accounts are already tagged as bounty cheaters or worse.

Account AU4 is linked to another group of alt accounts and already tagged for bounty cheating by CryptopreneurBrainboss.

Should we continue?
1834  Economy / Reputation / Re: {Reference} Detailed reasons why you recieve a red feedback from me [campaigns]. on: July 03, 2022, 09:32:41 AM
Sir, I was greedy. I'm sorry Please forgive me. I want to stay with you and working for bitcointalk and earning some money from Campaigns. Sir, you both are HUMAN, You can forgive me. If next i will do anything wrong you both can kicking out from Forum.

Honesty? Well, I guess we do not see that very often from bounty cheaters. But I doubt that will help you much now. What you should have done was inform the bounty manager of your decision to change the campaign, and to avoid having stakes in both campaigns at the same time.

What I really want to know is why did you wait almost three months to ask for forgiveness? Based on your activity over the past few months, it is reasonable to ask if this is your only account here or just an alt?

The Last word: I made a mistake, forgive me.  I will never do it again

This statement makes sense only if you can confirm that this is your first mistake and that you are looking forward to being a positive contributor to this community in the future. Was this the first (and only) mistake you have made in this forum?
1835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the world ready to embrace physical bitcoin? on: July 02, 2022, 09:55:06 PM
I really do not see any use for a physical representation of digital currency other than as a collector's item. It also seems like the coin would be of questionable value to anyone using it. They would still have to be connected to the blockchain in some way to verify its value. Not to mention that physical representations of bitcoins are much more susceptible to theft.
1836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be in favor of Gold or Bitcoin !! on: July 02, 2022, 09:43:44 PM
I am definitely for gold. If the goal is to invest money and not go into the negative - definitely gold. Really an investment that definitely won't lose. But bitcoin can bring both profit and loss.

Do you really believe that investing in gold has never produced a loss? You should check the gold price charts throughout history.

https://www.investing.com/currencies/xau-usd

I think it is safe to say that buying gold as a place to store wealth would not be a sound long-term investment unless you can wait decades.
1837  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 02, 2022, 05:07:52 PM
That’s it though, isn't it? It’s all about the place and not about the situation we are in. I mean think about it, if a brandnew website asked you to do KYC then you wouldn't do it, or they would have to pay you a ton of money to convince you to check out a brandnew place that requires KYC, and that would cost them a lot to get a single customer. However, when Roobet does it, then you are fine with it because you trust it.

Ultimately, it is not just about how new the site is, but also about how much faith we have in the company behind it. For example, would anyone leave their personal information with 1xbit and the like? Certainly not . People need to know the site is secure and reputable, and that there is a serious business behind it.

1839  Other / Meta / Re: Do you read unmerited replies? on: June 29, 2022, 08:16:26 PM
I don't know about you guys but these days i found myself ignoring unmerited responses in a topic and tend to only read the merited ones because they're "usually" more relevant to the topic and contain more valuable informations, and in big topics with multiple pages it gets difficult to sort them out.

Yes, there is some truth to what you say here, merit is not a measuring stick for quality of posts, but it is a good indicator and will give you an idea as to whether the post you are reading is likely to be of good quality. I have observed, however, that there is no standard or clear guidelines that governs posts that generate merit. You will have to judge for yourself whether the post you are reading is worthwhile or not. For example, we have posts that have received a lot of merits but in reality, they are not so good and some that are truly crappy. It is important to be aware of that when reading posts. Don't take everything on face value. So, I don't judge posts based solely on merit, I consider the content quality as well as engagement.

I don't know if this was suggested before (sorry for repeating if it was) but wouldn't it be better if the replies with the most merites be shown at the top (instead of the most recent ones) and so on kinda like a reddit upvote system,or at least to add a sorting option to switch between these two display modes (by time of posting or merites recieved).

Is a system like this feasible, and can we see something like this implemented in the near future ?

No, I do not think something like this will ever be implemented on a bitcointalk forum. For starters, this would mean favoring posts from an elite group of members (high-ranking members usually get more merits than newcomers). Secondly, such a system could be easily manipulated in threads that typically do not attract a lot of merits. Thirdly, such a system would require an "us" versus "them" mindset, which is contrary to what bitcointalk stands for.
1840  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Almost all NFTs are scam on: June 29, 2022, 05:38:52 PM
Newbies, NFTs should be the first thing you fear the most in crypto space, look at bitcoin, its usefulness and scarcity makes it valuable, Look at real Gold it's very rare to see and this makes it valuable, imagine if everyone on this earth has Gold in their backyard will Gold retain its value? It will be plagued with devaluation right? This is exactly what NFTs are today, everyone can create theirs.

It is true that anyone can make their own NFTs, but that is not the point. Like everything else, some NFTs serve a purpose, some do not. Some are art, some are not. Some may be valuable to collectors, but others will not.
I don't think it's good to generalize things like that. Take the Internet and the World Wide Web for example, anyone today can create their own website, but that does not mean all websites are useless and worthless. And to expand on this analogy, back in the 90s, no one could have predicted the rapid development of the Internet over the next 20 or 30 years.
