1841  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Here's a converter that will turn your 120 volt US plug into 220 volt plug. on: December 23, 2015, 07:10:12 PM
I don't think anyone said it is cheaper to put in a 220 line then spend 120 $ for something that will burn your home down  , all because you may think buying this might be cheaper . but you can put in one 220 line in the states, for 80 bucks or less, if you shop around .I'm guessing he lives in the US and has a place were he can by posting this and from what hes saying.Smiley.

Not sure if the one in your link will work or not. The power input/output is lower, the Superbpag that I know works good with the Pi2B and sticks is this one http://www.amazon.com/Superbpag-Portable-Charger-Transfer-Samsung/dp/B013OK10YM

That one is rated 5V 14A 70Watt, the one you linked to is only rated at 5V 2A 10Watt.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RM5OF70?psc=1    this one is the other one it's rated at 60 watts, your is better and its cheaper.

maybe is just my hub and batch two thu anything i throw at it just works, mines this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817707235  I have it self powered at 7-24V either over a 110 or 240 line tried both but really saw no need for 240.   the PSU, i have does Output:24V 3A to match the hub.

Was wondering if anyone else has batch 2 working with BFG ?. I guess, I should have asked.

I have batch 2 working fine on bfgminer using pi 2 version B (via usb 3.0 powered hub-Superbpag)
pi "jumped" on sticks in a a fraction of a second-they basically started blinking as soon as all connections and commands were there.
However, I tried initially to connect batch 2 stick direcly to pi 2 USB slot and this did not work for some reason (maybe these slots are underpowered?), but i only gave it a few seconds to try.

what hub , mine only works with batch 1 and it's USB 2 , i tried not just with RPI, i tried with cubie boards or that type ARM cpu and rpi. i just got a cubie board 2 today im gonna give a shot and have a new firefly coming , I love those little PC , once i can afford one i may buy one of top end new cudie boards that just came out .

what setting are you using . my stick is seen, it start blinking all most right a way but then nothing else even after i let it set for 20 mins , as i said id rather use BFG but CG will do as well, what ever it takes Smiley.

Hub: Superbpag
I used default settings (did not specify any settings)
sticks jumped to ~11Gh ea from the get go
maybe your bfgminer does not have all recent updates?
just delete the bfgminer directory and redownload everything
i used the instructions here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOLDrSiI_ic
to the letter

Code:
cd bfgminer
screen -S Mining ./bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://POOL.com:PORT -u USER -p PASSWORD

for eligius specifically, I used
Code:
screen -S Mining ./bfgminer -o stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -u USER -p PASSWORD

tried that link, you actually got a usb 3 hub working on a RPI cool. i have yet to get one to work .I know some do but finding it can cost a lot over time.

This one http://www.amazon.com/Superbpag-Port-Cable-Charger-Black/dp/B00W4X3DAA or this one http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RM5OF70?psc=1, I'll buy it after Xmass  Smiley .

Luke

Will this matter with BFG for GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer batch 2 ?. BFG won't pick it up  batch 2, a few others are having the same issue. batch one works fine with BFG.

I posted this in the https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173963.msg13312792#msg13312792 thread asking if there is a issue, I'm not aware of, with batch 2 and BFG ?.
This is what side said :  "batch 2" sticks are the same as "batch 1"  except each stick has a unique serial number is greater than about 480 and he changed the diode on the LED flash circuit.

CG picks it right up.

I'd rather use BFG but will us whats needed to make it work.

found it

Code:
--set-device compac --set compac:clock=200

but it doesn't work either, so i think the new batch was made different and BFG needs a update to it ?.

the above settiings work with batch one but not with batch 2 for me .

Was wondering if anyone else has batch 2 working with BFG ?. I guess, I should have asked.

Thanks AJ .

for the code, it's been a long while sense Ive had to use
Code:
--set device
in any form.

BTW it does see it, but it won't show any hashing with BFG, shows it in BFG as 0 and  it acts like it is hashing but it's not . i even run it on eligius.st , by it self to test it . nothing ever showed up. it gets warm etc . but this is only happens with BFG . i can use  cgminer. Smiley .

batch 2 with windows 10,  no point in posting any more shots with a PI or others ways, i tried, it shows the same results with  5.3 to 5.4.1. Smiley.

last post about it,  asking more if there is a issue and show what i tried, it doesn't really mater much which software miner I use, I always root for the under dog (BFG in tihs cae ),but will do what i have to, too make it work for me Smiley . or did i get one  of those sticks with a mind of it's own and it uses what it wants to .

it does work there is nothing wrong with it that i see , in fact it works better then the first one, i bought before it  .if it is bad, i will or would thrash it any way , i only bought it to help support .) .

1848  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 21, 2015, 06:08:52 AM
Just asking !! anyone having issue getting the latest batch to work with BFG 5.3 to 5.4.1 direct to the PI or in windows ?. by direct i mean plugging into the PI it self . I have tried all different setting with BFG without a hub with a Hub, it just won't pick it up with BFG , BFG will pick up the first stick, i bought, or batch 1, if that was batch 1.

gekko-CGminer will work with both batches, if I compile it in minera or command line.

IS there a setting or was it made different this time around and bfg sees batch 2 different ?.
just wondering, i can use gekko-CGminer. other wise !!!.

used these setting in windows with the right driver for BFG , on a few different PI types including a RPI2 and RPI b and RPI with different Os's etc .

Code:
-S all --set compac:clock=200
-S compac:all --set compac:clock=200

-S antminer:all --set antminer:clock=200
--set compac:clock=x0b83 or others
--set compac:clock=200

The only other setting i haven't tried is

Code:
 --set device

forgot how to use that .

even did

Code:
-S compac:/dev/ttyUSB0
-S antminer:/dev/ttyUSB0

there was one other way to use

Code:
 --set device

what i meant by " The only other setting i haven't tried is "

1850  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: December 17, 2015, 05:54:12 PM
I honestly don't get why would someone sell something this efficient to public? I would keep it to myself and enjoy ROI-ing couple times before thinking of sharing this impressive spec with anyone else Cheesy

Too good to be true though. We will see what happens.

It may be BS !!!  we have to  wait and see Smiley .but why not share it ?. but with bit fury i don't trust it. it might just  be them letting us know they have a nice chip and are lieing to us about selling to the public, unless it's like some one else said they want full control over the bitcoin network and this is how they plan to do it, then shut out every one and any one .
The Problem with one group of people controlling it, is bitcoins could become worthless then they would be handing there own ass to them self because they got to greedie.
1851  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: December 16, 2015, 02:30:13 PM
Well if it's anything like the last gen of Bitfury chips, they'll keep them all to themselves. If it's like the one before that they'll sell but won't provide any documentation. But that sounds like one heck of a chip.

"As a responsible player in the Bitcoin community, we will be working with integration partners and resellers to make our unique technology widely available ensuring that the network remains decentralized and we move into the exahash era together."

Fairly vague comment.

I don't trust it, greed has a funny way of blinding others.
1852  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newbie here - which low budget miner to get? on: December 16, 2015, 11:28:27 AM
IF you can get your hands on some S3 ++ id buy them Smiley_ . notice i said S3 ++ not S3 +, i could have bought some over the summer but passed it up or saw it to late to buy at least two S3 ++, after, i noticed it said ++. now i can't get any in the US.
1853  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BitFury has the No. 1 Crown for Now... on: December 16, 2015, 11:06:42 AM

Maybe.  They have 6 months to make some money off of it before the halving.  Halving is coming.

and the halving is bad why ?. if bitcoins keep going up how they are the halving will have no effect at all the only thing i see bad is 12.5 less coins per block and higher difficulty, i don't see that as bad unless the chip makers try to shut out everyone and  mine for them self, which is possible, but some one will come a long and stop that unless the laws of the land stop home miners or make it to hard to do it in your home, by law.
1854  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: December 16, 2015, 10:24:04 AM
BitFury 16nm chip is available. This can be interresting for your next project.

http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20151216005453/en/BitFury-Announces-Mass-Production-Fastest-Effective-16nm

how much or how lomg will they share it with the avg joe, if at all.

but yea if he can get some, that will be super awesome.

16nm chip 0.06 J/GH @ 100 gh  to 184 Gh or more per chip, depending on cooling.

I'm willing to bet if some on the forums  could get there hands on these, they would have them maxed out at 200 gh per chip.

air cooling a 8 to 16 chip board in the antminer s series way with two borads per miner, would make a nice home miner.

@ 8 chips per board clocked @ 140 gh under air would be a nice miner @ 2 th + @ 300 wats or so at the wall , but if side was to or could get some, i can see one miner doing what maybe 4 to 5 th with 16 chip boards @ 500 watts , there is all kinds of ways and miners that could be made from this.

I'm sure i got the math wrong on power useages, it's polly lower .").

we do need more chip maker willing to step up and let every one , have at it. weather they agree or not, it hurts everyone, hugging it all , we weren't meant to be that way but were meant to help .

1858  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer s5 dead board, reflow? on: December 13, 2015, 03:29:48 PM
give it a shot and follow all he said i did it in a small toaster oven it worked and lasted a while, but i got sold a bad S5, to start with ,they made good on and told me to keep it . what have you got lose but maybe regain your S5 back .
1859  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer S3's and C1 on: December 13, 2015, 03:09:41 PM
Just received my C1 Excellent packaging job i must say. Haven't tried it out yet. But looks to be in good shape..Smiley Thanks I will let you know how it hashes later tonight.

mine comes tomorrow it was sent today but i also live maybe one to two states away .

If yours was packed as well as Mine you should have no problem. But here is a picture of mine it hashing away after setting it up. YAY!!! Thanks Mindtrip Excellent seller! Got anything else laying around..Smiley
Man this thing puts out some heat that's for sure LOL. almost twice as much as my three s3's combined.

How about that super low HW Error rate on that baby Smiley

It is still awesome. Been running for almost a week I think and still showing a 0.0001 hw error rate. I am seeing a x on the 4th board but most likely because I only have 4 plugs plugged in.

The unit it self is SUPER Quite. But My 1000 watt server PSU is louder than ever LOL. Do regural power supply sound as loud as server psu's?

Do reboot that should go way it's a firmware issue they never really fixed unless there is something wrong with yours. mine are not loud at all i guess it depends what server psu you use.

This is http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-39Y7360-Delta-DPS-2000BB-Power-Supply-Unit-For-IBM-BladeCenter-Servers/361440858625?_trksid=p2060778.c100275.m3474&_trkparms=ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140723144412%26meid%3D6d8489fcaf9f424a81488a4bc3b1b1ef%26pid%3D100275%26 not loud at all or this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/121773841067?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT .  but i always over kill on PSU's per miner, even my PC. and server PSU just work and are cheap.

and mine never max out . maybe another reason why there not loud , i do have two server PSUs I don't use that are very loud, when you start them and stay that way.

no ATX PSU are very quiet unless it's made cheap even at full load. .

Or install it like this

Quote
sudo apt-get install -y lighttpd php5-cgi
sudo apt-get install -y mysql-server
sudo apt-get install -y php5-common php5-cgi php5 php5-mysql
sudo apt-get install -y php5-mysql
sudo chmod 775 /var/www
usermod -a -G www-data youruser  ( you also may need to sudo this line.)
sudo chown www-data:www-data /var/www
sudo lighty-enable-mod fastcgi
sudo lighty-enable-mod fastcgi-php
sudo service lighttpd force-reload

cd /var/www
sudo git clone https://github.com/michelem09/minera
cd minera
sudo ./install_minera.sh

sudo ldconfig
lsusb

if you don't mind installing MySQL-server . either way worked for me.
