1841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: September 26, 2021, 08:16:21 PM
Very unfortunate news, A Brazilian MMA Fighter  Lucas Gabriel Perez has died from a head injury he received on 11 September. He was only 22 years old and after that fight on 11 September, he said to his family that he was having some headache and was taken to the hospital instantly. His condition went worse day by day and was transferred to another hospital instantly only to be declared dead this Saturday. RIP.  Hope the MMA fans and his family will be able to withstand this huge loss.
It is really unfortunate to hear news like these, the problem with small promotions is that they will not be getting enough payment and the problem i think  here in this situation is that there is no medical clearance required to fight.

I searched online but could not find much information as they are still investigating the cause of death even though they say that the cause of death is head injury. There is no report whether the injured was there before coming into the fight and it got worsen after the fight or he sustained the injuries during the fight.

Drama at the last ball again! But, what a match!

There'll always be drama in the IPL. CSK win in the last ball with a match-winning performance from Jadeja. He hits 22 off just only 8 deliveries. He deserves all the credit. Whether it's batting, bowling, or fielding, he can do it all. One of the most valuable all-rounders in world cricket at the moment is Ravindra Jadeja. Do you agree?
The second last over was the turning point of the match when Prasidh Krishna bowled and Ravindra Jadeja went after him scoring 22 runs and in the last over CSK needed just 4 runs and Narine bowled well and i thought we will see a repeat of the RR match as the first ball was a wicket and then picking the wicket of Jadeja and i thought it will end up in a super over but Chahar was someone connect the ball for a single.

Looks like RCB might change their fortunes since they included Glenn Maxwell as he is playing with freedom and the innovative shots he comes up with is ridiculous, reverse sweeping fast bowlers for sixes and it is hard to set fielders for shots like that and he bowled one of the best spells i have seen in his T20 career.

and a general question:
Why people get upset when, for example, bitcoin goes from 42 to 41? they know it will increase to 50, so There is nothing to lose. Their money is safe. I do not know the meaning of loss in this situation
If you invest in shit coins even knowing that you are talking the risk then there is no one that can help you. There are many good projects in the market where you can invest and there are projects where the development is really slow and you might not be getting the expected profits in a short period but eventually you will get the profit if you invested in legit good projects.

Anyone investing in top coins in the market will not be crying when the market goes down momentarily, those who cry and investors who are new to the market and most probably invested when the market was at the top.

It wasn’t just ring rust.  He looked like he didn’t want to be in there.  And he didn’t look like he trained much for the event.  Lolol.  He was sloooow.  The Diaz of old is gone.  And how was that match supposed to be for 5 rounds?  Cheesy  He should retire.
Three fights in the last ten years and his last win was in 2011 against B.J Penn who was wearing down and was coming up in weight. It is not easy to take a long break like this and return to the top of the division against elite fighters, he should have taken some warm up fights before going against anyone. A few days before the fight Nick Diaz decided that he cannot cut down to 170 pounds and these were signals that he is not in good shape or healthy enough to cut weight.

182 would have been a good target. But KKR made only 171, so the target is 172.  Grin
At one point i never thought they will reach 150 runs when Andre Russell was back in the pavilion in the 17th over and the score was 125 runs and to reach 171 runs from that score, full credits goes to Dinesh Karthik and Nitish Rana.

And right now the CSK openers (Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis) are smashing KKR bowlers all around the park. The poor form of Sunil Narine (with both the bat and ball) is a big handicap for the KKR. Even today, he's proving to be expensive and so far he has conceded 25 runs from his 2 overs. Other bowlers have been tidy, but Narine has handed over the advantage back to CSK. KKR needs a wicket soon, as the match is rapidly drifting out of their control. Won't be a bad idea for Andre Russell to have a couple of overs. He is a partnership breaker.
Chennai Super Kings started really good but the middle order is the issue, if they can score some quick runs then they can continue their winning tradition and i expect CSK to win the match, but you never know what will happen in the final few overs, if KKR can pick wickets then the pressure will be back on CSK, if not they will win the match.
1846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] JOSHUA vs USYK on: September 26, 2021, 11:41:47 AM

Usyk was very active and his head movement is very good that Joshua can't find a good timing to hit him. What a boxing skill Oleksandr Usyk has, he looks like a smaller version of Tyson Fury who moves a lot and good in throwing his punches, looks like we have a new superstar here.

His record is now improved to 19-0 with a possible big fight waiting for him.
Tyson Fury needs to win the trilogy against Deontay Wilder and then focus should be on Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk and both of them are the undefeated and i am not sure how much hype they can generate but since Anthony Joshua is not the champion and i do not think that Tyson Fury will challenge him next.

In short Deontay Wilder messed up the biggest fight in boxing because of his ego and now the landscape changed big time with Oleksandr Usyk winning the belt. I am expecting a rematch and if Usyk is focused and not end up like Andy Ruiz Jr who was overwhelmed with instant richness and celebrity status and ruined his career, he will easily overcome Joshua once again.
1847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT Billboard on Time Square WHAT? on: September 26, 2021, 09:34:35 AM
I saw NFT billboard on Time Square today! I couldn't believe but then I checked the project out and it's Envoy Network. Surprise surprise!
My friend is NFT artist and he applied as an artist on their website.
Looks like a subtle way to advertise the project here  Tongue. This is the first time i am hearing about it and all the NFT projects allows artist to apply from their website and if they are really good then they will be picked or you can publicly sell them as well through Opensea.

Isn't it a sign that NFT will be the most hyped thing in 2022-2023?
NFT is trending for the past one year and it depends upon the utility these NFT could bring to the investors who are holding these cards rather than just re selling, it should be applied and used in the games they launch or something similar to make things interesting.
1848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 26, 2021, 07:44:48 AM
Was watching the India Women match and they need just 8 runs in the last two overs, they had a good start but they lost wickets in the middle and i really wanted to see them win the match in Australia. I hope they can control their nerves and take the team to victory as Sneh Rana and the experience of Jhulan Goswami is more than enough to rotate the strike and take the team to a victory.

Edit:

Sneh Rana is gone, went for a big hit, just 2 more wickets left and 6 runs from 8 balls, singles please.

I thought India would choke once again but Goswami sealed the victory for India.
1849  Other / Off-topic / Re: GGG will have a fight this year! (BOXING) on: September 26, 2021, 06:12:58 AM
Looks like we can still see Gennadiy Golovkin fighting this year.

GGG fought last year, so in this scheduled fight if it happen, he will be inactive for over a year.
I hope this is not his last fight, as though is not getting any younger, many are still hoping he would fight Canelo Alvarez one more time.
It is true that Gennady Golovkin is not getting younger as he is 39 years and i would like to see the trilogy between Canelo Álvarez and GGG because both the fights were beautiful and both the fights were really close and i liked the war and both Canelo and GGG are probably the best boxers out there in the world.

I would like to see him return this year and the opponent is rumored to be Ryota Murata, but we are yet to get the official announcement whether they signed the contract or not but the word out is that they will be probably fighting in Japan.
1850  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto will rival or replace fiat in 10 years? on: September 25, 2021, 07:52:14 PM
El Salvador has made Bitcoin as the legal tender along with US Dollar. And that means that Bitcoin is already a direct competitor to fiat. And I have no doubt that in the next few years dozens of countries are going to make BTC as their legal tender (especially those who don't have a national currency right now - such as Ecuador and East Timor).
If you take a close look, it is not a big surprise that third world countries that are struggling with their economic situation will be thinking to adopt BTCitcoin and that is the situation happened with El Salvador and i am not happy with they way they approached in making it a legal tender as i believe that it will backfire in the long term simply because they rushed everything.

But complete substitution is not going to happen anytime soon, I am afraid. Large sections of the society remain opposed to Bitcoin (especially the elderly).
It is not that the elderly will be against BTCitcoin, you should not force people to use any form of currency. The best you should do is to give them the freedom to use and if that is a free choice to opt for any form of payment then that is the best solution and that is the kind of regulation i want to see rather than enforcing or forcing anyone from the cryptocurrency market.
1851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 25, 2021, 06:31:37 PM
In today's match the bowlers dominated the match and it is good to see this in T20 once in a while. Delhi Capitals bowlers were too good for Rajasthan Royals. Anrich Nortje, Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, Axar Patel and Avesh Khan bowled really well and if the Delhi Capitals were able to score a decent score then they have the bowlers to trouble the opposition.

The Punjab Kings match really surprised me as Sunrisers Hyderabad was chasing a modest score of 125 runs and yet they were not able to chase them and Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers but the rest of the bowlers contributed in the match to defend a small total.
1852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are privacy coins destined to failure? on: September 25, 2021, 04:41:00 PM
I don't think privacy focused coins are destined to failures. The internet has all kinds of people and so do the crypto community.
There are people who still care about their privacy and so use those coins to maintain their privacy.
As per some reports the % of population using cryptocurrencies is still less than 10% in the world.
So when this number increases the number of people using privacy focused coins will also increase and so privacy coins will keep getting more established in future.
In hindsight your calculation is true and i would like to see people venturing into privacy coins as well and the problem i see is that the authorities will not be happy to see that users are using these privacy based coins. The first option i see coming from the authorities when they regulate the cryptocurrency market is that, they will force the centralized exchanges to delist the privacy coins if they want to be in their legislation.

In short even though we want to see the privacy coins to succeed we might see them regulated and forced off the exchanges.
1853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: September 25, 2021, 10:36:44 AM

Caleb says it was just a scratch but the pictures don't really look like a scratch. It's the cause of the sunglass he wore that time seems to have crammed down that resulted in that mark, you can't stage that kind of bruise.

They don't even have to insult each other its bound to happen. Every time two dominant males in one stage will cause a commotion, that is why there has to be someone in between when there is faceoff, it happens all the time in MMA. During that time, they were just them, who organized that faceoff?
The organizers are Showtime and Dana White had his comments regarding the face off and the scuffle. During face-off the fighters will exchange words and when Caleb Plant talks about the mother of Canelo Alvarez, he should expect a punch is coming and he was dumb enough to stay there even after hurling words and that is the reason he was having a bruise to remember so that the next time he is opening is mouth to talk about family he will be having bruises Cheesy.

Jon Jones arrested again, and this time for domestic violence with multiple charges by Las Vegas Metro Police!
He became hall of famer but this guy is never going back in octagon with that behavior and Colby Covington called him a scumbag after this.
Everyone who follows the life and career of Jon Jones were expecting some sort of news like this as he is known for messing up his life and getting arrested all the time. The situation right now is not clear whether he was violent with his fiance which i doubt as they are together for a very long time. It is better for him to retire for good and get his life straight and if he want to vent his aggression he should be fighting now, but that is not giving him the motivation and hence he is taking a hiatus.

Sad to see that someone with a lot of talent is messing up his career and by the age of 40 he will be bankrupt if he keeps on piling up police arrest like these.
1855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 24, 2021, 07:26:48 PM
Century partnership by Royal Challengers Bangalore and still they end up loosing the match, i thought they would end up scoring a huge total and Chennai Super Kings would end up short and once Chennai Super Kings was able to pick up wickets in the later part of the innings i was certain that Chennai Super Kings would produce something to win the match and that is what they did.
1856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the NFT hype? on: September 23, 2021, 11:59:12 PM
Im a long time in crypto and NFTs took over really fast.. do you guys think the hype will keep going?
Since new NFT platforms appear every day.
What are your thoughts?
You need to look at the new contents that these projects are able to come up with. You will be getting high quality virtual reality contents in the form of aNFT and then there are projects that have added games and more projects are planning to add NFT games and the progress will be gradual and if any project can come up with something that could maintain the interest of the end user then those projects will succeed in the long run.
1857  Economy / Speculation / Re: What cause Bitcoin to drop up to 42k$? on: September 23, 2021, 11:45:57 PM
I think that most of the reason can be attributed to straight up FUD.

The Evergrande crisis in China should have absolutely nothing to do with crypto, but people are way too overreactive and tend to assume that this is the case.
No idea whether the FUD was prevalent when the correction started, when the market was showing weakness i could not find any reason and then all of a sudden an article popped up about the crisis in China and people are turning to safer assets. These are all narratives that people always find whenever there is a correction and today the market is recovering.

Plus, it'll be a similar event to COVID - the government will bail out the financial sector and there will likely be no harm done anyway.
The government cannot bail out everyone, if they keep printing money then eventually they will reach a point of inflation.

Yesterday's match was very interesting and was also very close. At one point I was fully sure this match will be won by PBKS unfortunately, that did not happen. RR won by just 2 runs. In the final overs, PBKS were struggling to play the ball. It would be touch one to swallow for Rahul.
Punjab Kings really messed up the chase in the last over, all they need is to score 4 runs in the last over and they had 8 wickets in hand and i thought it was an easy win for them even when Kartik Tyagi came to bowl the last over because he gave away 24 runs in one over and he turned the match upside down and that was some incredible death bowling by a youngster under pressure, picking 2 wickets in the process and giving Rajasthan Royals an impossible victory from nowhere.
1859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Karnataka ( A state in India ) they introduced bill in assembly to ban o.gamblin on: September 21, 2021, 10:30:50 PM
That's actually the reason why underground gambling is existing nowadays and it's even increasing. Sometimes, each country's regulation against gambling could make the situation worse. India has a huge population of gamblers and if their government would force to control everything, they couldn't eliminate gambling completely.
Gambling is illegal in India and you cannot find a casino anywhere else in the nation except for Goa which is a tourist destination and online gambling was a grey area for a long time and you are not able to deposit money into gambling sites using any banking system directly and if you want to gamble you need to transfer money to multiple online payment systems before depositing in a gambling site and now a state introduced a bill which is not that surprising.
