I've been seeing quite a few people calling for triple digits. Just like the last bear market, when half of people were calling for double digits.
Meet the new bears. Same as the old bears.

I have been waiting for two years to retest $1166.  Even I don't think we will get there.

well my view is asic mining if only the altcoins is dead...if 2 groups can simply toss $$$ around at a loss for power games with bch and btc and tank all the altcoins

hard do see how mining is gonna work out with all those coin and not a lot of adoption or volume...the point eventually could be made for btc mining as well..but not yet

what a sh*tstorm

1862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 25, 2018, 03:26:33 AM
I have re-thought my above post..will be dumping 2-3 BTC a month..if I need to for the next 2.5 years to full retirement on my traditional investments and soc security I hope to take at 66 years.

Thus I can have the month to month pain and likely delusion that it will all come back in some manner...

as to LTC...well...I could buy back in I suppose some with the amount above I'm taking out to live on...but jeez...on all this stuff how low can it go?

I should be 'attic mining' selling crap from the attic on eBay to get LTC or BTC from junk I will otherwise die with...probably 5k worth of crap...if I don't do it at these prices...I never will

but hell, as maxumark said pow-scrypt mining may be dead if dumb asses with big $$$ can simply walk in and mess up BTC prices due to low volume and tank LTC and the altcoins too

giggwatt is going under I heard...wonder if Bitmain is toast.. what a sh*tstorm

whatever it is not like I did not use BTC to buy LTC back in 2015 when LTC was sideways as hell, I guess I could do it again

as of now though I have ZERO LTC and don't plan on accumulating any coin till past Jan 1st, 2019...I have enough cash to live on till then....then of course choices will need to be made to continue retirement early

later

brad

edit: have no more LTC and panic sold 13 BTC from hoard at $3,964.20 ....to get thru till fall of 2019..retired on crypto ...and got to eat Smiley I see I sold at a high looking at BTC and LTC prices.

Check the hash rates now, looks like abc gave up.

Even with all the facts presented the trolls will still be trolling  Smiley

Yes, you still will be.

Fact: SV down in price $20 (25%) since yesterday.
Fact: BCH is already ABC.
Fact: The war is already over.
Fact: That's why they "gave up."

https://cash.coin.dance

It says this:

Quote
Coin Dance is now able to declare that both active chains will continue to be permanently split into the foreseeable future. The majority of businesses in the cryptocurrency ecosystem are now using Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to refer to the chain maintained by miners operating in consensus with the latest implementations from Bitcoin ABC, Bitcoin Unlimited, Bitprim, Bitcoin XT, bcash, and bchd. A number of exchanges have added support for the Bitcoin SV chain under the Bitcoin SV (BSV / BCHSV) name but general app support is currently very limited.

A buddy just told me on the phone that BCH SV has now hashing more than ABC

https://cash.coin.dance/

So can Bitcoin SV catch up or are there going to be 2 (3?) chains now?

I have no dog in this fight but utterly befuddled none the less.

Yeah cryptopia deposit aint working here either.
If you try to initiate deposit via their website they say their wallet is down for maintenance as of 11.13.18 due to fjc network issues.

Look at CoinInfo. 100/517 coins are In Maintenance now.
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/

It is clearly an abnormal situation. Recently, many coins have been updated by CVE - 2018 - 17144 countermeasure, but it seems there was a problem with compiling at that time. That is why they stop the coind and are currently investigating and taking countermeasures.

Maintenance of Fujicoin in Cryptopia has been completed.
I carried out an examination of deposit and withdrawal, but the result is good.
Since the confirmation of the deposit is still 480, I am requesting dev to lower it to 10.

at 2 satoshi this is kinda a 'moot' point at this time Sad

Do not complain as I will announce a surprising project soon.  Smiley

masternodes? (I have lots of FJC I need to use for something entirely dubious) Smiley

The only way to make some profit with our x11 machines is to mine new coins with low diff and hope for exchange..

Like Primestone, Brixcoin etc..

Nice Bookends cost like $80 in an upscale shop.....so you could get a pair Bitmain D3's for that use....for that price anyway on eBay.....sorry all I got for the use of Bitmain D3 x11 miners of any kind Sad

(hey....I'm making an ASIC wall of shame eventually on an attic wall..with all my defunct ASIC miners of many flavors....that will look cool right?) sob!

I believe that the cryptocurrency market will go up soon and this coin will be able to bring very good profits to its investors. After all, this is one of the most interesting and powerful projects at the moment.
yes it will go up but for now its bearish move all we need to wait and hodl our coins and tokens
bitcoin could go under 5000$ and litecoin also may go down more. i am going to buy more if the price will drop more a little bit
litecoin price is stable i hope litecoin price will move up soon with the price of bitcoin when bullish move happen.
i really hope that market will not go more down

Can we hodl out until the big charge (bull) starts? Things look dire to be honest, I expect this trench-warfare to continue into the new year.  Undecided

the last of my HODL on LTC will be gone (225 LTC) sometime in the next week or so..need to pay bills (retired on crypto may NOT be my wisest move ...ya think?)

thus flushing LTC (got to save the BTC hoard for a pump..thus the LTC baby is tossed out the window ..in my hasty retreat) Sad

If LTC is Silver to BTC's gold ...well..sorry ...all things being equal ..keeping the (gold) btc Smiley

I saw your comments, similar to this.

I dont know how rich you are/were, but have u tried Stocks, there were times when NVIDIA,TESLA,AMD, (even Facebook bounced some) shares for example produced nice gains. Tech stocks, before their pumps were a good choice. Retired on crypto, but why I feel it was only crypto and u lived up your (alt) money.

i have enough to keep my meager lifestyle (worked with deaf/blind dev disabled) of say a buying power of 30-35k when/if I retire at 65 or 66 ..I'm using crypto as a bridge till then, I'm 62.5 years old

needless to say ...in Jan 2018 LTC of 200 or so was 35K ...I just sold the last LTC at 7200 usd even of 225 LTC

ouch

thus I am doing what everyone else is doing that is living on this crypto (i mean really I'll burn it all not to work for anyone again) I'm blowing out all my altcoins (or those that are not so low it don't matter)

this of course includes LTC as a major HODL for a lot of folk in my position....so yeah, dumping the LTC to salvage BTC is it that bad indeed.....worse dumping with the sh*tcoins other than LTC and BTC.

and trying..really trying..not to blow the BTC...if BTC does not come back none of the altcoins will either and probably do much worse

thus if LTC is silver to BTC's gold ...and moves up accordingly...well ..it gets dumped with the rest of the altcoins, including LTC, .to keep MY BTC hoard safe...but that hoard will go before I 'unretire' don't ya know.

that IMHO, is exactly what is going on in the altcoin market for all coins as BTC dumps and really, really evident with LTC

it is likely to get worse with places like gigawatt going under and large data farms...they will dump a lot of crypto BTC and altcoins so THEY won't have to go work for anyone either

a lot of miners that were self-employed are now facing a choice of dump LTC and altcoins and maybe even ALL their BTC to stay working for themselves..or at the very least paying off the

data hall building as a hedge (no payments) or other stuff in dumping crypto as a hedge to keep from ...again...for a lot of us ...working for someone again...

just saying....we could see bitmain and a lot of asic makers go under for the same reason....choice of letting  the corporation that makes asic's for scrypt-pow and LTC mining or other machines eat the losses and

get out what crypto you can as things go south and you are say no longer an engineer at bitmain for asic chips etc

humans being humans ...how I see it unless btc comes back and at least goes sideways and such for LTC and BTC and other cryptos amd altcoins can stablize off of BTC and LTC prices say.

people dove too deep into equip/data halls/ and self-employment or trading of crypto and made a good living out of it full time these at least last 3 years....now with the equipment glut

(L3+'s are going for what 40 bucks on ebay?) that MAY not be the case anymore for ANYONE as large as bitmain or as small as a self-employed miner....poof....sell and consolidate may be the rule for a year

or as they say 'sh*t happens* but dumping btc or ltc or altcoins to keep even a smaller self-employed business of lifestyle going...and not have to get a 'real' job again..yeah...the trend is ugly indeed

I think i will end up paying about 800 to fed ex.  maybe less.

I just grabbed a good black friday deal   a 2 tb ssd for 286 - 57 coupon = 229  - 4% rebate = 219.84 for this 2 tb ssd.

all in all last year was a good year this year not too good.

2 quotes .. high price 1) be careful what you wish for

2nd quote .. you don't always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need

just has to hang together to act as a bridge will 2021 (or at least 2020) when I tap into my full retirement....i like not working hopefully having to work for idiots again in the next 1.5 - 2.5 years.... Smiley

by the by

again, anyone getting any of these notices from UPS? maybe UPS was more on the ball back in the day? I seem to remember at the time paying fees on UPS stuff

and not so much on fed ex (I am probably delusional)

UPS collects duties, their more proactive to charge prior to delivery like DHL.

ah...back in the day I did pay fees on miners coming in....so perhaps it will not be much of an issue in my case ....(fingers cross)

currently selling at the Black Friday low ...its how I roll....got to stay retired next year...what are the rest of you doing?

Received Fed-Ex notifications for my (2) orders above $2500 - now several months after my original notification for a $100K+ order.  Clearly they are working their way down.

Have NOT received an invoice for anything yet, although they recently tried to bill my credit card for that $100K+ order.

I see a lot on here about fed ex sending this stuff out and not much on UPS..or am I delusional?

man do i LOVE : Pick it pack it fire it up come along and take a hit from the hopiumbong

I see it hitting 3k when the SEC denies the ETF's and probably revisiting 3k when mt gox dumps all the coin in Feb/March 2019 at which time I'm fairly sure

the US will be in a recession...the whole store of value of crypto will not be working too well with the above either to keep prices up .it is gonna suck

this is gonna take a bit

hope I'm wrong...but.....

1873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: November 23, 2018, 08:08:00 PM

Well...I'd say as of NOW the odds of obelisk and siatech getting blades out for their boxes Jan 1st, 2019 are pretty much NULL...I'm saying at these prices for all crypto

they may just declare bankruptcy and get out what they can..its a cluster indeed...unless suddenly they can get some revenue quick from their cloud storage vision..just don't see a good end here

I heard Obelisk sold BTC that they got for their ASICs in January at $25000 per BTC, I hope they didn't spend it all already

makes even more sense to 'liquidate' the assets then double down on more equipment and this whole project...they would be prudent to take the BTC profits and run with it

but if they did cash out their BTC at that amount of $$ they likely spent it on equipment and their cloud vision and are like the rest of us going 'what the F*ck!* that did not work out at all

we will see...but if it is a choice between tossing more $$$ at projects in the crypto world and taking some BTC and running with it...a lot of places are gonna dump and let the corporation

eat the losses....they also don't want to go back to work for someone like me (thus my dump of 225 LTC and 15 btc later today to get me into 2019 and pay my health insurance for 2019 in advance

and of course, set aside cap gains on taxes etc on the above)

all this sucks indeed ...but if it is flush the business and go work for someone or work for someone again..you are gonna see a lot of flushed businesses and folk keeping what crypto or cash they

can rather than go back into the 'working world' IMHO

brad
1874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 23, 2018, 08:01:57 PM
I'm dumping 225 (all my) LTC and 15 BTC of my hoard to get thru 2019 (retired on crypto) health insurance to pay and live on etc

I think it will be 3k coin maybe 2k and such this next year ...if past BTC patterns hold

I think the SEC is gonna deny all ETF's thus the 3k hit and that also will drive LTC down proportionally

so again...all the LTC is gone as of today

as to a store of value argument for the next 2 years on LTC and BTC etc..not gonna happen....we are gonna have in the next couple  years

IMHO a 20-40% recession and as beat up as crypto is the 'store of value' argument is moot

but buying LTC or BTC by 'selling crap you don't need' may be wise..but it is gonna  be a couple of years till we are above 5k IMHO

besides the SEC on ETF's etc...the other shoe to drop is the *previous* 1 billion $$$ of BTC by mt. gox that is going to be dumped in mass in Feb/March 2019

that will further drive LTC and BTC into the ground

anyway, what I'm doing as a stop gap with LTC and BTC to get thru 2019 and stay retired on crypto

the old saying from the 1700s or so

'the needs must when the devil drives'

Coinbase settles on ABC as BCH.

Nowhere worth bothering with has swallowed Craig and Calvin's sperm by the looks of things.

www.worldcoinindex.com shows 3 BCH forked coins

1) BCH

2) BCH ABC

3) BCH SV

I still think we are going to find out that the BTC SV folk slam'd this together to drive the price down and now 'likely' are buying back BTC with the extra 1/3 of cash that was flushed by them

in the downward price...hell ..being truly evil and all...its what I would do...would that not be a kick in the nuts being played like that

of course, the price of BTC would again dump 25% on the notion of being played....thus rinse/wash/repeat

it could be a long winter folks

CROSS exchange will launch on November 20 (TUE)

What is trade mining in CROSS exchange ?

When you buy and sell with CROSS exchange you can get XEX coins equivalent to 100% to 130% of the commission amount.
You can also obtain XEX coins using the automatic mining options.
And up to 80% of per-day exchanges earnings will be returned to holders of XEX coins.

For details of CROSS exchange, please refer to the following.
https://www.crossexchange.io/cross/exchange/
https://www.crossexchange.io/cross/mine/info
https://medium.com/@CROSSlab

Fujicoin is supporting the CROSS.  Smiley
Three more days to get Cross exchange.
I can wait more, almost lost my mind when thinking of Cross exchange.

completely clueless on what this has to do with Fujicoin and its future or its price...just don't get it..unless volume picks up another exchange is not gonna

help price and/or whatever

Well ..equipment is out..obelisk only

Siacoin is plugging along at whatever price like other cryptos it is dipping down in price again today....like again all crypto

so ....the last point

how goes the decentralized anonymous cloud storage network that is supposed to compete with Amazon Cloud at 10c to the $1 coming?

not hearing a lot on that....and in that is what will determine Siacoin's ultimate fate....kinda should be a topic on this thread huh?

Some thoughts?

1) is it worth building a box for storage to use this system yet for above...or is it still too expensive to build a box from new parts to do such for the return?

2) how are the interfaces for both the wallet and the above box?

3) other concerns/thoughts or breakthroughs?
