1881  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: A Dumb way to scam forum members on: June 26, 2023, 09:59:28 PM
That's desperation, good thing that it's been caught but expect that there will be series of it to come. Like they'll just wait until this thread will be on a calm mode and then they'll be back with a new account trying to fetch victims that are gullible enough to get scammed.

Hopefully that there will be no more people that will be scammed by these folks.

They think that this forum is a place where they can get people believe them by using cancer patients or any charity for someone to donate.

To the real donators, don't buy on these people. If someone who has a good heart, just go to those legitimate charities and you know how to find them through internet.
1882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin ETFs on: June 24, 2023, 01:56:35 PM
With renewed interest in bitcoin ETFs, we see a growing flow of institutional and retail investors into the cryptocurrency market.
I am not even sure why they seem to be in a pattern that one after another. Didn't they talk about this and planned this all along before the bull run comes?

But one thing for sure is that they're going to be one of the reasons to trigger the demand and show the signs that we're near to the bull run.

Do you think the race to accumulate bitcoin will begin
Yes.

and what consequences it may have for the price and stability of this cryptocurrency?
Law of supply and demand. The more demand coming from these institutions, the higher the price that it will drive.

Anyone who's watching the match of Nigma.Galaxy and Team Secret ME for the Riyadh masters MENA qualifier?

The 2nd map was quite funny that the tally of the score is like that Team Secret just played with some AI, for real. Kuro doesn't really fit anymore to play, as on this match he played carry.

I have nothing against the legends and old players like him that has proven himself to be one of the best. But not anymore on this era, well, map 3 will be coming shortly and whoever wins this will proceed to the finals with Quest Esports.
1884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Investors Confidence in Bitcoin💪 on: June 22, 2023, 07:18:15 PM
We do get that cycle that every bitcoin halving happens, we're assuming that the next thing that should happen is the bull run. I am also thinking the same and even if there are people that discouraged me before (not from the forum) I'm not allowing them to change my decision on how firm I am as a long term investor.

But every bull run should be taken advantage by everybody. If there's the chance you're about to make profit, take your profits. You have to take profit even if you're playing long term in here.

That's how it goes and how you're going to enjoy the long waiting game. Just take some of it and still continue the firm belief and decision of being long term.

Or there could be some twist that Valve decides it to be part of the DPC season and will also give out DPC points before the TI but this isn't applicable for this year.

I am talking about the possibility of what can happen by next year when these tournaments are done and all of them resulted into a satisfying ending for which will make the Saudi government and Valve to keep up with more tournaments.
The tournament organizers on CSGO made it happen in the last major, so it's possible, but I don't want to put my hopes up on Valve since they prefer to remain hands-off from the competitive scene.
As they've got a change with the battlepass, maybe there's something from that that we can take as the start of the changes after the upcoming TI.

Maybe there's some hope and maybe there's none.

We'll just check it out and if it happens then that's good and if there are changes that's not favoring to this thing that we're discusses, still good and no heartbreaks.

Anyway, this is the news that there's no battle pass for this year. --> https://www.oneesports.gg/dota2/dota-2-battle-pass-2023-not-coming/
1886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: June 21, 2023, 04:54:27 PM
-snip

Even though the Riyadh Master has quite a large prize pool and is almost similar to TI, the TI tournament is the tournament that every team wants to win later on.
of course. TI is one of the biggest match tournaments in dota 2 with huge prizes so the whole team will fight for the title to get TI dota 2 aegis and of course a huge prize.
from this DPC match we can already predict who has already qualified for TI and who will become the champion of The International dota 2 later. it's not only the dota 2 team that will benefit from the TI tournament later but as bettors we can benefit from betting on this match.
Definitely that TI is still the best of these all tournaments, it's like the grandest and most awaited tournament not just by fans but of course by most of the players and teams.

But what if by after this upcoming TI, Valve will decide and will have a talk with the Saudi Arabian government that they should strengthen their relations towards this event and it's gonna be a yearly with also an increasing prize pool just as TI.

1887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Important Points to Learn from Your Worst Sports Betting Losses! on: June 20, 2023, 09:10:15 PM
IMHO, even if we'll list as much as important factors for learning through our worst bets and losses is that we will still forget most of them. And with the lessons that we may learn from those, eventually they'll have no place in our minds when we're currently or actively gambling.

Because it gets into our minds that the most important thing is to win. And we only do realize these factors and lessons when we've lost and we've got nothing left.

The latter part of having nothing after we gamble is pushing us to the point that there must be something wrong and we do recognize that at the end. It's true that all of those points should be remembered but situation changes and we often forget it when our emotions are being mixed.
1888  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nigerian SEC declare Ban on Binance Exchange activities. on: June 20, 2023, 07:41:52 PM
This is too much for Binance, I guess they need to fix their internal affairs before going on with the compliance that's being asked to them in different regions and countries.

While they might admit or not and will have to say that this is another FUD. The image that these news brings to them isn't really good for them and its reputation.
Check the recent news of CZ regarding the binance in Nigeria because its not related to them. It might ring a bell on the binance reputation but after knowing that the "Binance" in Nigeria isn't theirs, it will come to light that it won't affect them in the long run.
I see, that there are cons that have been using their name and the activity of this company is to do fraudulent things. Just as you've said, I've checked it out and it came from Binance's own website and the details were there.

--> https://www.binance.com/en/feed/post/660934

Key Points:

  • Binance founder CZ issues a suspension notice to “Binance Nigeria Limited,” a fraudulent entity operating in Nigeria, urging them to cease their operations immediately.
  • Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) previously declared the entity as illegal and not registered, leading to Binance’s swift action against it to protect its reputation and warn users against trusting any information associated with the fraudulent entity.
1889  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nigerian SEC declare Ban on Binance Exchange activities. on: June 19, 2023, 03:33:14 PM
Or will these restrictions and the ban on Binance activity spread globally?
It seems that this is what we're seeing and it's a global thing for Binance. Because recently, I've just seen a headline that's related again to them and it's about money laundering in France.

1890  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Service or Bot for effective and timely DCA execution? on: June 19, 2023, 01:24:34 PM
I don't suggest using a bot even if there is. It's much better that you're there to buy personally on exchanges for DCAing. Why even if there's a bot, I don't suggest it?

It is because that what if that bot doesn't hit the market price that you're setting? Actually, you don't need a bot for this, you can setup a limit on exchanges that you're selling until it hits. As long as you set the price on how much you're about to buy, and when it's hit by that limit you set then it will automatically be purchased.

You don't need to spend for a bot because you can use feature of these exchanges if you're missing the time that you're about to buy.
1891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made a mistake shorting BTC at 17k on: June 18, 2023, 07:11:38 PM
Everyone has got the same story as OP. But you can change your own course and change the attitude of not wanting to buy at a higher price if you think that's the peak.

The reality is that the peak hasn't been reached yet. And that's why for those that are missing to buy or not doing DCA, you'll need to decide before it's actually too late.

There's no need to be worried or feel regret about buying now when you're decided that you'll stay here for the longest term of your life.
1892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: June 16, 2023, 10:04:57 PM
While many teams were already out of Dream League, it's better if the next season will be scheduled very well and won't be close to the most important tournaments like this one that's coming which is the Bali major.
Tbh, this is the best schedule they can get without disrupting the majority of the teams invited because if you check the schedule page of this year's DPC there are only 5-7 days available after the major and the next Div 1 season. Nothing beats the three-week time frame between the end of Div 1 and Div 2.
Well, you're right on that.

But I've just noticed some teams that were quick in preparing more in the upcoming major rather than this existing one through the Dream League. Although it's got more money and prizes but everyone that's not yet qualified for TI are likely want to get into more DPC points and preparing more through the Bali major.

Now, with GroupStage phase 2 starting , Aster lost first series to 9Pandas after leading them with 1-0 so basically we had a comeback or should we call it a 322 ? because Aster really had a great 3rd game in my opinion.
9Pandas got a 2-1 result against Team Aster.

The third game that Aster and 9Pandas have taken is likely a one sided game for me. They can't just make these strategies and picks against this type of team.
1893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: June 15, 2023, 09:26:21 AM
With these solid results from Team Secret, it does look like he's not moving back to BOOM Esports anytime soon. Maybe his contract with BOOM Esports is until the rest of the DPC season, so they only have to wait it out before he can officially be on the roster.
Formally, FBZ is just a loan from Boom Esports but I am sure that Puppey and the entire Team Secret is enjoying with his company and impressed with how he's reacting and playing with the team. The adjustment on him was too easy and that's what I have noticed with FBZ, he's an underrated player but look at him now. Possible that this will continue until the TI qualifiers.

While many teams were already out of Dream League, it's better if the next season will be scheduled very well and won't be close to the most important tournaments like this one that's coming which is the Bali major.

Look at how shit Team Liquid was, they're just like giving this away and wouldn't think of the prize pool that they'll get on this Dream League and for qualifying to the Riyadh master, they just let it go for the other teams as they're already qualified for TI and needs to prepare on it and will fly to Indonesia for the major.
1894  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Bitcoin an exceptional figure among other coins on: June 13, 2023, 12:27:08 PM
Bitcoin and bitcointalk are different from others because Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency is the most decentralized cryptocurrency and also since 2009 till date Bitcoin has not been under any control be it by individuals or governments thereby making Bitcoin a free market for all.
That's right, no central power controls the bitcoin network but in terms of its market share. Manipulative media is there to spread fear to those that can't take the market.

Thus, the makes people think that even Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency but being an asset and tradable store of value, there can be factors that it can move the price towards to the likes of those that has a bigger market share.

Also, bitcointalk is the most resourceful forum among all the other cryptocurrency forums and this peculiarity and success is ascribed to the forum association with bitcoin which also is the most successful coin among other cryptocurrencies.
Bitcointalk is historical and satoshi was once here and that's why this place has a special place to everyone's heart. And today, there are also other source of information but we can't deny the fact that it all started here. So the scattered info from place to place and website to website, most of those resources came from here.

1895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bhutan's Secret Crypto Investments: A Game-Changing Strategy for Small Nations? on: June 12, 2023, 09:52:56 AM
i bet there are other nations that secretly stack sats.
That is for sure.

They don't just want to make a noise that they're in and if there's money on it, why waste effort into making noise while making money silently?

While Bitcoin is already on the mainstream, maybe in reality there are still a very few number of countries that still don't know or don't like Bitcoin.

But if they're going to use their resources and secretly mine and accumulate sats then they'll benefit from it. They don't have to invest a lot but if their country is plausible for greener energy and the climate is better, that's a great prospect to start mining with them and have those equipment delivered to them and have it setup so that it can start make money for them.

not only governments but many politicians as well. this is one very good avenue for them to hide their riches, right?
so more then likely a lot of politicians esp those with high percentage of corrupt officials are silently accumulating some of these cryptocurrencies. a lot of them are holding their crypto discreetly to avoid criticisms as well as not disclosing their wealth to the public. you won't tax a person if they don't declare this in their assets.
It's much better if it goes to the actual government rather than individual politicians because with its actual government, the fund will go actually to the government and can be spent into good programs. While if it's with these politicians, they can conduct it individually and that can be a private operations on their own.

While they have the money to buy the equipment and start their own mining operations. No one can even know that they're into it while running it and acting as government official.

Well, it's being considered that politicians are also the government because they're part of it but in some countries, it's known that they can't be trusted with public's fund.
1896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 12, 2023, 07:42:13 AM
It is obvious that Denver has the big advantage nobody questions that and maybe Miami will not pull a Cavs and win this series, BUT that doesn't mean that they need to lose the next game. They could still make it 3-2 and then lose 4-2 as well and when you are betting that's all that matters.
Whether we like it or not, many are anticipating that they're going to lose the match tomorrow. But who knows if they'll prolong the series but if ever they lose by tomorrow and Nuggets is proclaimed as the champ then it's acceptable by everyone. We're seeing the reality that even if we want to see a longer series with this finals, I don't think that we'll see that. They even struggled against Celtics when they've got 3-0.

I feel like there weren't all that many people who said Denver would be the champions this year, not zero but not a lot neither so it is still a question mark if they will get the next game but whoever ends up winning the eventual season long bet, that will be a good one. I hope that it goes on until the 7th game to be fair, even if Denver wins it at 7th game and not much changes, it would still be fun to watch that, but unfortunately I can't see that happening this series to be fair.
Many aren't expecting them until the playoffs has came and then they've kicked the Lakers without losing against them. That's why for this finals, it's all being expected by many even not their fans are amazed and understood that they've come along the way and they truly are strong this season.

I think that these organizations have got money to do that and apply them to have another passport if these problems have already been foreseen but we'll see the development and news about it as we go near to the date of the major which we still got 3 weeks from now.
If only it was that easy to fix we'd barely see teams needing a substitute, but I don't have high hopes when even OG who has a lot of money to spend was forced to play with a stand-in during the Berlin Major.
Well, that's true. And before the Bali major, we've got the Dreamleague. One SEA team has got their VISA delayed and that's the Execration so if you're going to look at the page --> https://liquipedia.net/dota2/DreamLeague/Season_20

Before they were there but not anymore and even if they make it to the venue, they'll be losing by a default. This is a no DPC tournament but any team that will participate here will have a lot of cash prizes.

And whoever wins 1st and 2nd will be qualified to the Riyadh masters where money is flowing more with a cash prize pool of $15M.

Welcome PytagoraZ to bitcointalk!

Now that you know that newbies aren't restricted to make new threads. Remember this, if you're going to make new threads you have to make sure that there's no thread yet that's made or if there's ever made about certain topic that you're about to do then it should be old enough.

Why I am saying this? Because there have been newbies that have been making new useless threads even if they're probably aware of those threads that they make. And that's leading to many of them into being banned and you don't want that to happen to you.

So how to figure out if there's a thread that's make for the topic you're about to make or to ask, use the search box at the top right and use keywords for that topic you wanna make.

I hope that all of them win against any VISA issue that they might face going to Indonesia.
This is unavoidable for a few players because a few weeks ago, there was a discussion about 33 not attending the Bali Major due to his nationality and Fly would be affected as well.
Oh yeah, Fly is also an Israeli but I hope that he's got a Canadian passport or any other passport aside from Israeli passport to show so that he can still attend and face no problem for his VISA entering Bali.

I think that these organizations have got money to do that and apply them to have another passport if these problems have already been foreseen but we'll see the development and news about it as we go near to the date of the major which we still got 3 weeks from now.

It's unfortunate for both players if this is true, but on the bright side, they're already qualified for TI anyway so their teams don't have to perform as much.
That's the consolation that they've got, if ever these two won't make it to Bali, they're good to cheer their teammates and just have to prepare for the TI.
