The Germans would have a much stronger currency than the €, had they kept their Deutschmarks. I've seen German demonstrations against the € in Frankfurt. No mainstream German politician dares to be vocal against the €, but that may change with Germany's losing even more money trying to jack up Greece. Still, I, like million others appreciate the ease of a single currency between so many countries, and the best proof that it's a success is its growing acceptance in Switzerland. You can pay with € in thousands of Swiss shops.

Do you know this has been done before? Your service is close to what rugatu.com was doing. You were paid to answer questions, and I did, unfortunately, my earnings were below the minimum amount set for disbursement. So when the site vanished, my earnings vanished too.
I wish you more success.

A government may may locally block the Internet, or the electrical grid grid, but this would be some kind of a political suicide. A large part of the economy now comes from the Internet, and everybody needs electricity, so unless you want to wreck the economy nobody's going to do that. Even IS needs the Internet for propaganda!
So the Internet is safe, like BTC, and nobody controls it.

I don't see the solution in increasing the fees in a compulsory manner or the entire network. One of the advantages of bitcoins that is repeated over and over again is the low transaction fees compared to the traditional banking system. If we start implying artificial fees to fend off attacks, it can lead down a road where we might not want to go.
A problem with a fixed btc fee is the price of bitcoin. If the price would drop an attack could happen as it would be cheaper. If the price rises then legitimate users would be affected negatively. Percentage fees lead to a similar problem with bitcoin losing its edge over the banking system.
After all, wouldn't this problem be solved - at a cost of storage space - with increasing the block size?
i agree with you bitcoin were made to take out those killing fees that banks takes for any thing we wanna pay or tranfer to others,if we raise it we will come to a point that bitcoin would loose all interest since use it or bank will cost the same,on those time bitcoin would be dead. I'm not worrying about this as long as the fee remains very low. We have free SEPA transfers within the EU, so it looks better than BTC but a .10 cents transaction fee is not a deal breaker, considering the other advantages of BTC.

A monograph written by ten international lawyers and scholars and published in July 2015 claims to be “the definitive guide to navigating bitcoin law”. The book is dedicated to the cryptocurrency laws in four countries: the United States, Canada, Germany and United Kingdom. Its ten authors, correspondingly, include three American, two Canadians, one German and four British. They are all lawyers, many having special experience in electronic payments, financial services or taxation. Some of them teach in universities and have authored research papers in law and finance. http://www.coinfox.info/news/2429-the-law-of-bitcoin-is-not-the-law-of-the-jungleUnfortunately, this isn't about a book you can download for free. This is a commercial proposition. You've got to pay to get the book. I wish someone will buy it and tell us what it's worth.

Why don't they use the real stuff? I haven't read any news about a shortage. Is it to prevent any paternity claim? Do mice have lawyers? Let me think... Artificial sperm can only lead to an artificial mouse, so why are they talking about "semi-cloned"?

The crazy part is that there are way more people dying because of drug trafficking than actual drug use. Drugs: safe to use, lethal to deal. Colorado is showing the way, it will be followed.

It's easy for me. I've seen global warming at work! There are cities in Italy which I first visited in the 70's and they have changed. The sea level has risen. Go to Castel Volturno, it used to be a lovely place, now they have floods every year. It's quite likely the city would be totally underwater in 50 years. Go to Chamonix, and check pictures from the place 100 years ago. There was more place snow during summer time than there is now during winter.

I see that many people don't like banks here, but we still badly need them. Only a handful of people are able to buy a house without getting a loan. And millions of businesses would be unable to survive without credit. Countries are no better. Greece would have disappeared without credit.

Well, I got it all wrong. When I checked the news before my last post, it seemed the Greek parliament would vote against the bailout. Still, I haven't changed my mind. The EU has already lost billions with Greece, and it's gonna lose many more. I hope BTC is going mainstream really soon. I'm still using € in my daily life and that currency is losing ground against the $ and the £.

What surprises me here is that OP made a transfer without checking how much the fee would be. I make bank transfers every week, and I always check before hand. To make international transfers, most bank ask for a percentage of the transaction with a cap at both ends. It can be $10 on the bottom end and $150 on top.
Some customers may get reduced rates if the transfer is between 2 accounts within the same bank. Say, it's cheaper to make a transfer between an HSBC account in London to another HSBC account in Hong Kong, than to make the same transfer from HSBC in London to Citibank in New York, but BTC is the cheapest option by far.

im having lots of troubles, everyone who sends me under 0.0001 gets my wallet litteraly blocked, everytime i send btc it wont confirm for 48 hours and later that guy that sended me the btc (with fee that was under 0.0001) gets his money back
please help, how can i block those translactions on blockchain.info!?
An unconfirmed transaction only freezes that money's transaction. What you had before is still available. I'm afraid you cannot block an incoming transaction, but you can ask the person making that transaction to use a higher fee. Note also that the fee is only one parameter. What's the size of the transaction?

“Show Him The Difference Between A Man And A Woman”…A little-known party has sought permission to show US President Barack Obama the differences between a man and a woman through a nude protest. The peaceful demonstration against homosexuality will begin at 10 am at the Freedom Corner, on July 22 and 23, said Republican Liberty party leader Vincent Kidala. “The procession shall be carried out by approximately 5,000 totally naked men and women to protest over Obama’s open and aggressive support for homosexuality,” Kidala said in a letter to the county commander on Monday. This comes after the White House downplayed demands by a section of Kenyan leaders for Obama to avoid gay talk during his visit. Obama has used previous trips to Africa to urge governments to decriminalise homosexuality, but heads led by Deputy President William Ruto have warned him not to talk about it. http://allafrica.com/stories/201507141281.html Hmm... 5,000 men and women naked in the street. Wild things may happen that day. And what are they going to do after that peaceful demonstration? I wonder if there will be as many men as women.

I agree with you. Liberland is really not serious issue, there are a lot of other areas and countries, like Iraq or Syria, who really need serious help from the international community. Liberland became a fun for several people because of unsettled border line between Croatia and Serbia, but it is clear that Liberland will never become a real state, but all remain only in the virtual world. Let's help real people and real countries in the world, where concrete people die every day because of war, famine, poverty etc
Thanks for your support. Actually, I'm now thinking I've been a bit harsh on my last post, but I guess liberland should get real. They will not be successful in creating a new country. They've been too many wars in the past. It's absolutely impossible to create a new country in Europe. Helping them is wasting money. Better create an artificial island somewhere outside of any territorial water.

Losing touch with money? Funny! I haven't had a check book for ages, and the last time I've used a credit card was on June 4th. And I've been in Western Europe all the time since then. I'm making wires frequently, but most of the time I'm using cash. Or BTC a few times.

You must think about the customers. People are making transactions, and they take ages to get confirmed, so I guess there were plenty of people complaining. I've had one transaction failed last week, and another which took more than 12 hours. You just cannot run a business this way. To make sure transactions are fast, they've raised the fee. It might be unnecessary by now, but they don't want to take risks. I understand them.

As I've been dreaming of a Grexit for many years, it seems I'm going to get what I want at least. The Greeks have a choice, follow the way shown by the other EU members, which will be hard but safe, or follow their own way to misery. Latest news are towards the second solution. The Greek banks will remain closed. Forever.

Cheaper, maybe but also more dangerous. Physical assault shall not be a concern, but you may experience delays or troubles because of strikes or demonstrations. If you go on vacation only once a year and just want to relax, better travel elsewhere.

Slovenians are smart people. The could the exact opposite of the British. You don't see much binge drinking in Ljubljana, and when the Brits are big spenders, the Slovenians are big savers. They're the people who make you believe in Europe. If there ware only Germans, Slovenians, Estonians and people like that in the EU, it would rule the world. Unfortunately, people like the Greeks or the French are wrecking it.
