201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as payment system on: January 12, 2018, 12:20:10 PM
Obviously Bitcoin nowadays is not used as it was intended to be used by Satoshi. Its looked at as a store of wealth for most and most people that are in Bitcoin are not willing to spend their Bitcoin to make daily purchases. I think as long as Bitcoin is still growing a lot in value this trend wont end. We need a more or less fix price for Bitcoin for it to become a real currency. Unfortunately the crypto markets have made nothing but a capitalistic financial instrument out of Bitcoin, although it was invented to fight the current financial system. Kind or paradox tbh. As long as prices are climbing Im also not willing to spend it when it could be worth double the next day. Thats just natural.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: January 12, 2018, 12:15:50 PM
Can anybody explain to me what it takes to make a NEP5 token on the NEO blockchain? I remember reading something that the projects that want to make a token cant just create one, they have to partner up with NEO first, is this true? If it is true, than this is great to prevent scams and only let legit projects create tokens on the blockchain. Would bring a great advantage over Ethereum or Waves imho.
203  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we totally eliminate all the banks in this world? on: January 12, 2018, 12:13:39 PM
I don't think that all the banks will be totally eliminated, it was impossible to happen because before it will happen I think bitcoin will be the first to eliminate why? because the government will not let it happen. They will look for the reasons that they need on why they have to eliminate the banks and if there is no strong reason then they will ban the caused of this problem.

Agreed, and on top of that Banks are not a bad thing in general. In my opinion not everyone is capable of handling their finances on their own, so banks are needed in our world. The thing that we should dislike about banks is that they are creating money out of thin air with every loan that they are handing out because they only need a small deposit (1-3%) in central bank reserves to hand out loans.
It would be great if cryptocurrencies would force the banks to work for the people and serve as a financial service provider for them and not only work for their own profit. Cryptocurrencies might change banks for good - in a social banking system.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CrowdMachine - The Worlds Most Advanced Distributed Computer on: January 12, 2018, 12:06:53 PM
Hey there, I have a question: as the softcap if the CrowdMachine ICO is set very high, what will happen if the raised funds wont exceed the softcap? Will the project be developed nonetheless with less funding (like a secret soft-softcap or anything) or will you just cancel the whole project and refund the investors? All the best for your ICO!
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] [WGR] | Wagerr | The Betting Blockchain | Bounties on: January 12, 2018, 12:04:35 PM
Great to finally see some price movement in Wager. Any idea when the platform will be up and running? I haven't been following the latest news regarding Wager. If the moment is right i'd like to buy some more.

Mainnet should be released on monday 15. January if everything goes as planned. So if you want to buy more, I would act quick. Of course I dont know it for sure, but it seems very likely to me that the price for WGR will rise fast after the mainnet is up and running. Will be so great to use the platform, cant wait for it!
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] bitJob: Decentralized Student Marketplace for Online Jobs on: January 12, 2018, 12:02:06 PM
Glad to see STUtoken has improved and this is what the latest news that continues to bring improvements.
We want to hear more updates so people not forget about this project , 2018 should be a great year for Bitjob  Cool
In fact, 2018 is the year of bitJob! https://medium.com/bitjob/2018-is-the-year-of-bitjob-52754283bb12

I personally can't wait for the pilot. I mean, they were in talks with the Dutch government about it. Would be great to see some pilots right there!

Oh really? I didnt know that. If this becomes a reality it will be huge. Projects that manage to partner up with governments are much more trustworthy than others and they are getting valued way higher because of the speculative nature of governmental partnerships. We recently saw this with POWR. Im looking forward to BitJobs performance in 2018, guess the year will be great for this project.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [PTOY] Patientory Healthcare on the Blockchain on: January 12, 2018, 10:41:18 AM
Im pleased with the price PTOY is trading at the moment however Im still curious when PTOY will roll out their product? Is there an official announcement for its delay? I remember that there should have been something rolled out by Q4 2017 if Im not mistaken.
208  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange with USD EUR GBP JPY CAD BTC LTC XRP NMC XDG STR ETH on: January 12, 2018, 01:03:11 AM
Guess I was just in time to withdraw my fiat from the exchange two days ago. Im happy that I did so just in time before this stuff started. Well, how long is this downtime supposed to last? I was going to trade on kraken again tommorow. Will that be possible or not?
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - Telegram Open Network ✔ on: January 12, 2018, 12:59:31 AM
If this ICO is will really be conducted, it surely will be epic. Imagine the hype around it. Nobody will want to miss out on this one, neighter do I. Im really into Telegram, way before I even knew crypto I used Telegram as my main messaging app. Im excited for this one, it will definitely be very compelling for the whole community to participate in this ICO.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Substratum ICO - August 7-September 7 (Pre-Sale with Bonuses Available Now) on: January 12, 2018, 12:56:50 AM
Bought some SUB back in december under 1 dollar Smiley This coin gonna be huge this year with working product. So many people out there are waiting for a solution like SUB is giving us.

Yeah mate, me too. I bought some under one dollar too. Im really looking forward for widespread adoption of Substratum, In my opinion its one of the most legit projects around. Let alone that there is a real need for it. 2018 will be a great year for Substratum, at least I hope so!
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: «Envion» Highest ROI crypto infrastructure | $2M Bounty available! on: January 12, 2018, 12:46:12 AM
I am surprised with the participants bounty envion, why is there a member account account already post up to 1900 post, what it guns in spam post?

Well my friend, if you would read the rules, you would know that its totally legit for every participant to promote the project as much as they wish. As your post doesnt really makes sense you should not accuse others of spamming. If something should be rejected, than its your post in this thread.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: January 12, 2018, 12:36:13 AM
go siacoin , could this be the move up it needs to top flight i wonder ?

under 500 sats gotta be a super value investment surely ?

I think everything under 500 sats is a good buy for Siacoin. I bought most of mine for around 400 sats and am holding them for much longer. At least two or three years. Im highly confident in SIA, I believe that it will be a top crypto in some years from now.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX: Making Blockchain assets spendable on: January 12, 2018, 12:29:06 AM
So, in that case, I ordered my TenX card yesterday. How long will it take for it to get issued and arrive?
Did you order the card through their website? I can't find the form to order.

You can sign up in the webapp here: https://webapp.tenx.tech/login

After signing up you can order a card through the webapp. But you need to know that there is a backlog with orders, so it will take some time until your order will be processed and shipped. I ordered mine in early december and didnt receive it yet.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | FUNDING THE FUTURE WITH THE FUTURE OF CURRENCY on: January 12, 2018, 12:26:31 AM
I bought in EMC2 at about $1,5. I should be upset with the current situation, but Im actually not, because I see this as an opportunity to buy me some more. I just dont have any free money at the moment, so I hope that the price will stay low until I have some money to buy more. Im still confident about EMC2!
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In the case of a large percentage drop on: January 12, 2018, 12:24:18 AM
In the case of a larger percentage drop I just keep calm and control my emotions. I've learned the hard way that in cryptomarkets its all about patience and not rushing decisions. I suffered quite some losses when panic selling after the price went down and my portfolio value decreased. Well, I guess one learns from mistakes.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to invest in cryptos if you're old? on: January 11, 2018, 11:39:34 PM
What would you guys advise someone who is retired, living off pension and savings? Is it too late/risky to invest at that kind of age?
Do you guys think the elderly have a chance of jumping on the crypto train, or do you guys think it's too late for them to invest?

Definitely not. You are never too old for anything as long as you dont feel that you are too old for it. Everyone that can use a computer without problems or is willing to learn about cryptocurrencies can also invest in them in my opinion. Its not too hard to learn. Ive also told my mom kind of some stuff by now.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most possible Ethereum competitor? on: January 11, 2018, 11:37:51 PM
I would take a look at Aeternity. In my opinion this blockchain will be a real competitor to Ethereum. The concept of Aeternity is great and if everything that is planned will be deployed successfully into the mainnet I think that the Aeternity blockchain will be way superior to Ethereum. Im already invested in Aeternity, but I will continue to buy more when I get the chance.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POWR on: January 11, 2018, 11:35:29 PM
I alraedy made some satoshis from pwr...,
wish didnt sell them all!!!!
hopefully soon I will replace some other alts with pwr...

Me too, I didnt sell as of now, but I also bought in pretty high. I bought in at around 10,000 sats, so I didnt make real profits yet. But Im looking at POWR as an long term play anyways. Its an excellent coin that is solving a real world problem. I expect this to be huge in the future. Really glad that I learned about it before one POWR is traded at $10.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sold All my Ripple on: January 11, 2018, 11:32:21 PM
Indeed it was a good trade in my opinion as you made around x2 profit satoshiwise. Add to that the price increase of Bitcoin, so you might have a lot more profit in terms of USD.

I guess more people should sell their Ripple now as I dont think that it can stay for long above two dollars, at least those that got in late (bought for two dollars and above). But maybe thats just me and Im wrong. Im also still holding my XRP that I bought for around twenty cents. Ill wait and see what happens.
220  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is bitcoin dangerous ? on: January 11, 2018, 11:28:20 PM
Bitcoin is not dangerous, people are dangerous. As Bitcoin is money, there will always people that misuse that money for fraudalent activities or worse. Its to be expected as there is always another side of the coin. It has it's advantages as well as disadvantages. Bitcoin can be dangerous because of it's nature. Bitcoin is money and you know that there will always be people who would do anything to get their hands on it. Scams, phishing sites etc... If you're not careful enough then you're potentially in danger.
