1021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] QRL - Announcing the Quantum Resistant Ledger on: December 09, 2017, 09:48:58 PM
not interested in myetherwallet for storgae, seen the guide and confuses me

has anyone downloaded the full ethereum windows client and stored their qrl that way?
if so, is there a guide out there for this for the full eth client, and do you need a small balance of ethereum in the wallet to receive, if so how much
thanks

Hey, Guido. I am using MEW, but I don't like it. But also at present moving away from a Ledger Nano S., so . . .

I understand you need a pinch of Eth in an Eth because that's what provides the 'gas' for transactions. Gotta understand this better, me.

Yeah exactly as you said you need some ETH in your wallet to pay the transaction costs. The transaction costs are called "gas" and are measured in the units of "gwei", you will have to have some ETH in your wallet for whatever transaction you do on the Ethereum blockchain, weather it is sending ERC20 tokens (such as QRL currently is) or sending ETH around, it all needs ETH (gas) to be processed.

What I dont understand is why you are saying that you are moving away from the ledger nano S. I understand why people dont like MEW and see a security risk in it (although this also depends on the security measures one conducts, it actually can be used very safely, if done the right way), but the Ledger Nano S is the safest way to store ETH and ERC20 tokens that are laying on your ETH wallet, because the private key cant leave the device and therefore never is exposed to attacks, no matter how much viruses and malware there is on your computer. I definitely vouch for hardware wallets.
1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 09, 2017, 09:40:34 PM
Everyone should bookmark this: https://ethgasstation.info

It shows proper gas prices if you want your transaction to go through, as well as a ton of other stats/info regarding the network throughput. If your transactions are going through, raise your gas price to ~40 and try again!

Thanks a lot for this website mate, this really is helpful at the current time (not only now, but now more than ever). If I understand correctly, everything under 40 Gwei is currently too low to be processed. 41 Gwei is average, and everything more than 41 Gwei is considered fast and will go through as a normal transaction in one minute or two.

I have another question regarding the under-gased transactions. If I send a transaction with low gwei and it wont go through, how long will my ETH be in this circle of unconfirmed transactions? Will it be returned after a certain number of blocks or will it be stuck there until my transaction is being processed, which could theoretically be never, because of a constant flow of higher gased transactions. Hope someone can answer this to me, thanks!
1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ⭐️⚡️LiveEdu: ⭐️⚡️ Decentralized peer-to-peer project learning network on: December 09, 2017, 09:34:27 PM
Is LiveEdu only accessible from a desktop computer or is there also a mobile app that we can use?

Another question would be if it is planned to expand your streams to an broader audience by providing streams in other languages besides of english as well?
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ¤ DMD Diamond 3.0 | Scarce ¤ Valuable ¤ Secure | PoS 3.0 | Masternodes 65% on: December 09, 2017, 09:21:52 PM
Hi guys, does DMD have anything to do with real diamonds or is it only called Diamond because the coin is scarce and therefore as valuable as a diamond? Im really into precious minerals and would like to obtain some diamonds. Both would be great a real, physical diamond as well as a digital diamond. I have already been collecting precious minerals since I was a kid and got a pretty big collection so far (also some really small diamonds, but none of real value unfortunately).
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ęternity blockchain ∞ AE TOKEN ∞ [PoW & PoS | Oracles | Smart Contracts] on: December 09, 2017, 09:17:20 PM
How can we mine AE? Is there any miner to download, maybe a mining pool established? What are the min. specs required for mining?

Only mining on testnet is availible as of now as far as I know. The coins that are mined there are not the real AE coins right? Please correct me if Im wrong. If those are real AE coins as well, I would also think of getting into the mining of AE early.
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MONA] Monacoin LAUNCHING 2014/01/01 0:00 GMT on: December 09, 2017, 09:14:03 PM
So glad that I entered in MONA on time, as some of you predicted, now we are really almost hitting the $20 mark in the short term. I really didnt expect it this fast, but cant complain, Im really happy with my investment in MONA! What are your predictions for 2018?

All investors rushed to BTC to get free tokens from the hard forks due to happen this month.
Once it's done, I expect people will switch back to MONA.

Yeah seems like it, its scary to see how fast MONA pulled back again, seems like this recent pump some kind of P&D. I am now kicking myself for not selling at $18 and buying back now. But who could have known that the price will retrace this much and this fast.

Hopefully we will come back to the previous levels (and reach new heights) as soon as those Bitcoin forks are over.
1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: December 09, 2017, 06:21:39 PM

Well just a regular update to inform us about what happen would help abit

Yup, at least that, to keep investors on track so that they dont loose faith after loosing a lot of money while holding on to SIA. Some regular updates here from the devs would really do good as well.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] (CED) CEDEX 1st Ever certified blockchain diamond exchange on: December 09, 2017, 06:11:33 PM
Cool project, Im really into precious minerals and I would love to own some diamonds some day. I wouldnt think of it as a financial asset though, Id rather have them right by my side. Will this also be a peer to peer marketplace to buy and sell physical diamonds?

You mean you paid a crypto currency and you brought back the stones in a box with a ribbon? I think no. Though who knows. Can such an innovation when it becomes a feature of this project?)))

Peer to peer is possible on CEDEX, yes. Diamonds in the system are represented by DTokens and kept by a custodian. Peers can trade diamonds using the tokens, and request to have the diamond sent to them from the custodian should they decide they want the physical diamond. The process is detailed further in this video, at about the 9:30/10:00 mark: https://youtu.be/3E4puiR-5mQ

Great, thank you for the answer that was exactly what I was asking about! Good explanation in the video as well, diamonds will be tokenized on the blockchain and can therefore be freely traded as an digital asset, but as soon as we choose that we want to obtain the physical asset (diamond) that matches our cedex token, we can request this and it will be sent from the custodian. Thats great! Im looking forward to the cedex platform. Hopefully your ICO will be a big success!
1029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | FUNDING THE FUTURE WITH THE FUTURE OF CURRENCY on: December 09, 2017, 06:05:32 PM
when is this 20k-50k supposed to happen?  im watching my investment dwindle down over the last few days.

You didnt follow the most important rule for investments in crypto: buy low, sell high.

But joke aside, I guess there is nothing to worry about, crypto is a heavy volatile market and there will always be dips, corrections and even crashes. But as we are still in the infancy of cryptocurrencies, it pretty much certain that your loss will recover and you will end up in profit. Just dont panic and hodl. This strategy has payed out for pretty good so far.
1030  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has turned into a scam coin on: December 09, 2017, 04:38:01 PM
It's not a scam but you are right the network congestion is ridiculous, we need 2 mb blocks to hold it over until offchain solutions can be reliably developped. Ethereum is similarly congested and also needs a boost in block size (gas limit per block) until PoS or other solutions to merge multiple transactions into 1.

I think you are right here. The accusations the OP makes are not the case, it looks more like personal frustration. I agree that there are huge scalability issues on both blockchains that have to be addressed by the devs, as we are heading towards mainstream adoption this should be the number one concern.

On the other hand I think that the latest surge of BTC was insane, the price seems out of control and like nobody can predict where we are heading. The huge swings we see daily are showing this quite nicely. Im really curious where we will stand pricewise at the end of this month.
1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - buy some more? on: December 09, 2017, 04:33:41 PM
As it seems the market has proven me wrong again. I was expecting IOTA to go as low as $2,5. I wanted to buy back in at this price but now it surged up to almost $5 again. I didnt buy in again, might just sit on the profit and wait for another correction. Definitely wont buy in again over $3.
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges. on: December 09, 2017, 04:29:12 PM
I gotta say Binance does it well. Also received two airdrops from them. 20 WTC and 500 TRX. Those WTCs are worth quite a bunch now:)

got the 500 TRX too but when did you get the 20 WTC?

Really WTC? I signed up on Binance way before the ICO of WTC, but never got something from Waltonchain. Where there some requirments to get this airdrop? I also got the 500 TRX though. Too bad 20 WTC would have been a really nice airdrop.
1033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the hell are Crypto kitties? on: December 09, 2017, 04:25:52 PM
Crypto kitties is the world first blockchain games. In the game you collect and trade kitties I am really skeptical about the game as is ask you for your ethereum private keys

I didnt check out this kitty game and wont do so, but if they ask for your private key, you definitely should not give it to them. This is the most stupid thing that one could do and this could/ will end up in all your funds stolen. Its good that you are being suspicious! But to be honest I cant believe that they are asking for the private key, otherwise this would have been tagged as a massive scam already but so far I didnt read something like this yet. They might ask for the public key to connect your wallet to your account on their website, but for what would they need the private key? Would make no sense in my opinion.
1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lykke - Semi-decentralized Exchange on the Blockchain on: December 09, 2017, 04:21:50 PM
Lykke's goal is not to provide an anonymous or semi-anonymous marketplace. The company doesn't deal exclusively with cryptos and it's also focused on FX, Stocks, Bonds and many more financial tools including new digital asset classes (from music rights to even real estate when regulations allow it). Yes Lykke has also a decentralized approach to custody which is an innovation but crucial in becoming a truly global marketplace holding trillions in assets. And obviously direct ownership is deeply tied to identity. We can speculate all we want about the need for privacy and I'm sure there's a strong argument there, however at the current state of affairs in the world, with countries becoming much more aggressive in the control and surveillance of their citizens actions, any effort on that front seems like an utopia in my humble opinion.

Creating immutable and public global databases like blockchains are the perfect solution for this, that's the irony of it all. We know it will bring plenty of advantages and improvements like transparency, efficiency and speed (eventually) but with governments and states still in place same can be said for further lack of privacy, regulation and taxation.

Agree to that! There is no reason to do anonymous business when you are acting legit. Only people that aim to do shady stuff or that want to evade taxation want to stay anonymous while investing. As you wrote: ownership to certain asset classes is deeply tied to identity, thats the nature of it. Lykke aims to be a semi decentralized platform, where you will be in charge over your money but still have someone to talk to if you face problems.
On the other hand I also vouch for privacy and I am scared about the data masses that are collected by certain companies and governments. This can backfire heavily at some point and the question of anonymity in certain areas of life is definitely not to be overlooked. We will see where this is heading in the near future.
1035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves future on: December 09, 2017, 03:55:18 PM
waves is a great platform and coin but until now waves have not changed and development, I'm so hesitant to invest more in Waves. I hope the platform waves can grow better and be able to compete with the Ethereum platform.

Thats not the case. Waves has constantly being under development and has a very active community too. The Waves platform is one of the most developed ecosystems out there and not many can compete with it.

Waves has a great prospectus and many things to come for 2018.
They will implement smart contracts, that will be more secure than the ones of Ethereum (no DAO like hack possible).
They will introduce Tokenomica that will enable KYC solutions and accelerate crowdfunding campaigns on the waves platform.
There will be a encrypted p2p messaging system on the waves blockchain (ETH doesnt have this)
There will be multisignature transactions implemented.

With these features implemented, the Waves ecosystem will be brought to another level, and surely the price will follow too.
1036  Economy / Speculation / Re: $11k? Too fast or just hyped? on: December 09, 2017, 03:46:40 PM
The $11,000 mark is neither too fast nor just hyped. You can see a trend, and you can definitely rely on it. Upon checking my data, I have seen remarkable trends that are worthy of consideration. Say, it reaches $11,000, then it drops to $9,500, then it goes mainstream between $9,500 to $10,500, then climbs again to $11,000 or more. You can see it never really buckles down with such huge disparity. Hence, it is neither too fast nor just hyped.
The price today is after the crash to the 9.5k and all this is just because how were waiting to buy bitcoin they bought It and soon many people who are waiting for crash will also put their money in because price will rise and in result they will see no option and yeah that was not hyped nor correction it was the trend of investor which take the price to the higher level and now we will be used to it in future it will happen is future also.
Unfortunately, not many people want to believe this. Many people feel that it is just a hyped bubble and coinbase and some other exchanges keep getting more users who are registering every single day. A lot missed at that $9k that you said because they fell for the huge correction bullshit and then the value kept kicking and kicking higher.

It was a crazy move though and something that was not expected, and imagine someone who thought $11k was too fast and now we have bitcoin over $16k.

Coinbase getting new users each day does not contradict the hype theory. Its in the nature of a hype that many people hop on the train. I dont think that we are in a bubble though, but hype is definitely a factor of the recent rise. I believe that the recent price rise was too much and we will see a correction anytime soon. Maybe even down under $10,000. I just wait for the big players start cashing out. Of course after this correction Bitcoin will soar up even higher, that happened in the past in this manner and is likely to repeat itself now again. Maybe we see $20,000 to $25,000 even before the correction will come, but it will come.
1037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: December 09, 2017, 03:39:29 PM
It is to bad, that devs are not active at least on twitter. It would help a lot. Of course not even mentioning better marketing. Please try to be more active on social network.

Second this. Better marketing could really be useful for SIA. I think there should be more marketing because SIA already got a working product. Not like many other projects that just talk about their future prospects but actually have nothing at all to show. These kind of projects often do alot of marketing efforts and therefore price of their coins/tokens gets pumped. I guess it would really do good for SIA to do some more aggresive marketing.

It's not ready for mass adoption. It doesn't have business grade stability and lacks certain features which are very important.

When it's ready, they'll advertise.

Alright, if so then this coin was also just a target of too early speculation as many in the space are. What features are you referring too? I thought that the SIA platform was already up and running for some time isnt it?
But in general I stick with my statement, marketing is key in this space, it has become more important than being able to deliver on your promises, therefore if you dont do it, other projects will have an advantage over you, even if your project has better features etc. I think one should not underestimate this in the current times.
1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum computer will kill bitcoin on: December 09, 2017, 03:23:09 PM
Is quantum computing really this far off? I remember reading somewhere that big corporations like amazon and MS, Google are already working on this technology and have made quite some progression. Governments are surely also researching in the field. Please tell me that this was just FUD and quantum computing wont be availible any time soon. This scenario is really scary, not only for BTC but for the whole world. If this kind of power would be into the wrong hands, the damage that can be made would be irreversible.
As for coins that target quantum computing protection there is QRL (quantum resistent ledger) as I know of.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEM (XEM) - NEM has the first crypto wallet in WeChat! on: December 09, 2017, 03:00:53 PM
If this is true than it will be very big for NEM, maybe we can expect a huge pump when this is official. I used wechat previously and it was a nice experience. Its definitely superior to Whatsapp and if it implements a crypto wallet supporting NEM now on top, there is only one direction for NEM.

Voise is a great project! I love how the team is building a real community and how proactive they are with their community. I expect that Voise will be a disruptor and be very successful in the future. Best wishes!
