1121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cats & the reasonability of Ethereum on: December 07, 2017, 10:25:32 PM
I think that the Ethereum devs are aware of the potential scaling issues for a long time already. Now this became more present with this kitty dapp, but as far as I know they are working on a solution. I read in another thread that the most simple solution would be to increase the gas fees that are needed for a transaction, because miners pick the higher gased transactions over the low gased ones. I however hope that there will be another solution somehow.
1122  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why People Are Not Honest. on: December 07, 2017, 10:20:58 PM
I think this lays in the nature of humans, some people are always honest and some people arent. Some people are dishonest because they want to preserve themselves of inconvenient situations, some people just have bad character, some people only lie in certain situations and some people just dont make a difference because they dont care. I pity all those that are not honest, but I also accept them, not everyone is equal, but those who are dishonest are causing themselves problem in the long haul with this attitude, just my opinion.
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3 undervalued ICO's on: December 07, 2017, 09:58:12 PM
Crowdholding has a nice concept in my opinion, I also like how responsive the team is. I invested also some money on them pretty early on. What I dislike though and this likewise also really decreased the trust I had in them is the following: they recently lowered their hardcap from 50 million USD to only one (1) million USD. As I read this I was kind of in a shock. I mean sure, I knew that ICO's try to raise more money than they need to develop their product, but I didnt think that they would try to rais 49 times than that what they actually need. If they even need the one million is now my though. I mean, what are supporters and ICO investors supposed to think of this?
1124  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why there is an huge difference between KRW and USD markets ? on: December 07, 2017, 09:52:06 PM
I also realized that difference lately. As I saw this I immediately asked myself if there is not a lot of arbitrage trading happening with those huge price differences? I mean if I was a korean citizen, wouldnt it be smart to change my KRW to USD and then buy Bitcoin on eg Kraken and transfer it over to Bithumb and sell it for much more, rinse and repeat and make huge profits every day regardless of the price swings of Bitcoin. Please tell me if I missed something important here, I never tried something like this myself, Im just curious.
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin $15000 on: December 07, 2017, 09:35:58 PM
We might really see the $20,000 before the end of this month. I must admit I didnt believe that this was possible, but this unpredictable market proved my pessimistic expectations wrong again. But to be honest I think this is insane and the price is completely out of control. It cant be healthy for an asset to soar like this. I still think that there will be a huge correction sooner or later that will cost many smaller investors a lot of money. But as it seems now, Bitcoin will just continue to rise for the time being.
1126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is the price of bitcoin so high on: December 07, 2017, 09:11:45 PM
Bitcoin has proven tech and the first movers advantage. The Bitcoin blockchain is around for a long time now and accumulated a lot of trust in the last years because it is reliable and safe. What also should not be underestimated when it comes to Bitcoin and its price is the huge community that formed itself around Bitcoin over the years, the more people believe in a currency and value it the higher it will be priced.
1127  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has turned into a scam coin on: December 07, 2017, 08:59:37 PM
haha. you should be calm down. The demand of Bitcoin is too high now, and you know why. After the hard forks, everything will be better.

Demand for BTC is huge nowadays, thats true. However what makes you think that after the hard forks people will stop buying Bitcoin and things will settle? Would be happy if you evaluate it, because I dont really understand the impact that those hardforks have on Bitcoin.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | FUNDING THE FUTURE WITH THE FUTURE OF CURRENCY on: December 07, 2017, 08:55:44 PM
if btc could just freakin chill for a few days that would be great

Totally agree, just one or two days, this would be so great. Let people take a breath for a second, freaking Bitcoin makes me hold my breath for several weeks now... Im really scared where this will end. Hopefully we will not go higher than $25,000 in the near future.
1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: December 07, 2017, 08:28:31 PM
if you guys are still holding Bancor just want to rep all of you. Expecting huge things from this asset in 2018

Sure thing, we all do! As we are holding BNT for such a long time now already, it would be plain stupid to sell at the first moment that we are in the greens again (higher than ICO). BNT is for long in my portfolio and will stay there, definitely wont sell any for less than 0.10 ETH / BNT!
1130  Economy / Economics / Re: Will there ever be a Bitcoin Bank on: December 07, 2017, 08:21:29 PM
According to me the whole concept of bitcoin was to eradicate the existence of bitcoin.

My guess is that it wont be possible for Bitcoin or other currencies to become really mainstream if they wont let the governments interfere in some kind. How this will be implemented is another question, but that the governments wont let cryptocurrency take over the financial system, without them having their fingers in somehow, is for sure in my opinion. Its naive to believe the opposit.
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lykke - Semi-decentralized Exchange on the Blockchain on: December 07, 2017, 07:54:36 PM
Can someone tell me in which jurisdications Lykke is planning to operate in the future? As Lykke wants to bridge the digital asset economy with the traditional finance ecosystem, there are certainly different countries to operate in planned right?
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PHR] Phore - 100% PoS 3.0 - Masternodes - Zerocoin - Governance No ICO/Premine on: December 07, 2017, 07:46:44 PM
Wow what a day, been an absolute blood bath everywhere, but Phore managed to hold put...in fact rocketed. Can't complain with that, happy dinophore i am!

Definitely man, it was a very black day for alts overall, however Phore seems to have strong momentum as well, while BTC price for PHR also declined, the dolar value went up! Phore got a bright future ahead! Looking forward to that next dip, so I can buy more!
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the hell are Crypto kitties? on: December 07, 2017, 07:36:16 PM
Dev team is really great, I seen that this game is a test in order for them to make adjustment just in case the system was over populated of so many transactions, and the team will adjust and fixed this problem making Eth platform more reliable in the long term process.

Do you have any resources that prove that this is actually the case? As far as I could find out so far, the Ethereum dev team said that they are thankful for this because it showed the weaknesses and where they have to work on, but not that they themselves launched this thing as a scalability test.
1134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Minexcoin - A new era of payments (Exchange launch - November, 1) on: December 07, 2017, 07:28:39 PM

He's pretty much talking non-sense since he obviously didn't read white paper or memorandum. You can see my argument on his first post 2 pages behind or so. He didn't answer me anything ofcourse Smiley

I admit that I only read the two messages on page 635 and his tone gave me the impression that he is not just a trashtalking troll. Nevermind guys, be nice to each other!
1135  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has turned into a scam coin on: December 07, 2017, 04:50:09 PM
What you say about the exchanges is true, its terrible to trade at the moment. I stepped away from trading at the moment, it has no point for me. I also think that the price of Bitcoin is artificially created. This is not an organic growth, this is just pumping too hard. I definitely dislike the priceride. However, Bitcoin is no scam coin!
1136  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you manage ur emotions? on: December 07, 2017, 04:36:36 PM
I know this emotional decisions very good. I also made quite some bad ones because of this. I guess I now just learned from the experience I gathered that it is better to stick with the original plan if nothing very important comes between that would make you readjust the plan (example given bitcoin spiking $2000 in some hours). Emotional decisions are not only bad while trading, they are almost in every situation in life. Rational thinking and rational deciding leads to success.
1137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The price is out of control on: December 07, 2017, 04:29:26 PM
Totally agree. I share this opinion and am also spreading my views on this eversince we reached about $10,000. I think this constant increase is not organic and therefore its not healthy, this can hurt the whole space and many smaller investors that got in "late" or at ~$10,000 could loose tremendous amounts of their initial investment in no time if big players start to cash out or something else like government interference or some other bad news come around the corner. I would be happy to see bitcoin rather climbing slowly than doing another $1000 every day or two.
1138  Economy / Economics / Re: Will there ever be a Bitcoin Bank on: December 07, 2017, 04:25:44 PM
I definitely agree that banks are useful and an instrument that many people need to cope with their finances. Not everyone is capable of taking responsability of their own finances. So I think yes, there will be something like a crypto bank (or Bitcoin bank). I would love to see something from the community for the community, decentralized but with proper working governmental mechanisms built in to let people vote etc. I am sure we will see something like this in the future, maybe with governments interfering of some sort or it comes from the community itself.
1139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any advice for a newbie? on: December 07, 2017, 04:20:37 PM
I think your portfolio looks solid! As you already mentioned: add more Bitcoin to it. I made the mistake not to do so and missed most of the recent rally while my altcoin portfolio keeps diminishing in regards to bitcoin value. But thats life, no regrets! One advice that I would give you is to do a lot of research regarding your coins, and dont to trust people lightly. There is a lot of scamming going on in this space, remember we are in the wild wild west of crypto yeeehaw!
1140  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin value on: December 07, 2017, 03:03:01 PM
The prices depent on the orderbooks on these exchanges, all of them are legit. They differ because the orders that are being placed can vary on the different exchanges. However if you want to have an average price that is taken from all exchanges together you can have a look at cryptocompare.com or at coinmarketcap.com.
