201  Economy / Gambling / Re: Professional Crypto Gambling Advice on: April 08, 2024, 04:48:31 AM
Technically he is offering advice and has not scammed anyone, but everyone considering sending a message should not send any money without using an escrow. I wouldn't wanna see anyone get screwed over by sending 1st and not getting what they thought they were paying for.

If so much technicality, someone who offers a system to win at the casino is a scammer. If he had only talked about sports betting, poker and maybe horse racing we could give him the benefit of the doubt, but he has not specified that, he talks about casino games.

its a way to make chances work with you instead against you.

With this sentence alone it is clear that you are a swindler. For my part you get a red tag. And also a newbie warning flag: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3293
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing poker online better than offline? on: April 07, 2024, 04:56:28 AM
yes of course, by looking at someone's reactions and emotions we can see what cards they have when playing offline. This will be more difficult if playing online,

Difficult but not impossible, as there are also poker tells. In most cases they have to do with the timing of the bets. A recreational player (or fish) who bets instantly all in or a strong bet has a strong hand, but we have to consider whether he is overvaluing it. Things like that. But obviously it is easier to guess the opponent's hand when playing live.
203  Economy / Gambling / Re: House Edge on: April 07, 2024, 04:47:58 AM
It's pretty simple op. Casinos like Stake are giving players a greater chance of winning while sites like BC.Game are giving players a lower chance of winning.

Well, I would say that's a consequence of traffic. A casino that has a much higher traffic and revenue can offer a lower HE, or a higher RTP if you prefer, and still make good profits. That way, by offering a higher RTP, it attracts more customers and the snowball gets bigger.
204  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Future of online poker - PokerFi on: April 07, 2024, 04:40:16 AM
Well, I see the umpteenth poker project in this section, and as far as I can see it is a tied to a shitcoin project that has been planned for some time but seems to be delayed in its implementation. So I find it even less attractive than the ones I usually see here. Let's see if the OP clarifies something.
205  Economy / Speculation / Re: are you expecting Bitcoin to hit $400,000 after the bull run. on: April 06, 2024, 05:43:31 AM
No, I'm not looking forward to it, it's happening to me like most of those who have commented. The OP's speculation seems to be based on hunch and nothing more. Although in a more sophisticated way I recently went back to talking about a possible super cycle, in which yes the possibility of that price would fit.

I think the amount of money it takes for the price and market cap to rise in that way makes it extremely difficult for such a thing to happen, although many of us would like it to.
206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Couple won the jackpot but split soon after! on: April 06, 2024, 05:32:05 AM
There are people who believe that money is evil and can transform people, but I believe it is the opposite, money is a simple means that amplifies what people already are. If someone is selfish and greedy, give them money and they will become even more so.

Even if Michael Cartlidge sent the money, it was Charlotte Cox who purchased the lottery ticket. Unless Mr.Cartlidge can show proof that he and Cox had an agreement to split the prize money prior to the draw, there is no chance that he will get any amount out of it. At the most, he can file a civil suit against Cox, but even then I am not sure how it is going to help him. His only chance is in case of an out of court settlement, in which Cox maybe ready to part with 10% or 20% of the winnings, just to avoid the nuisance of legal battle.

To begin with, I believe that there was no real love in that couple. Just look at the fact that they are both overweight and don't look particularly handsome either. Surely it happened as it often happens that people get together with the one they have at hand to avoid being alone, but with people in love who plan to spend the rest of their lives together, this would not have happened.

Things as they are, I think it's most likely that what you say will happen. Lawsuits are expensive, and a settlement for a small percentage could avoid the trial and settle the matter.
207  Economy / Gambling / Re: House Edge on: April 06, 2024, 05:22:11 AM
Meaning, after one or few bets, the casino might be in profit or at loss but after too many bets the casino will most likely get 2% (or whatever the He is) from the total amount you have wagered.

Well, that high possibility becomes certainty as the total bets increase. There are formulas to calculate it. In the short term the results can deviate statistically from that 2%, and in fact they usually do, it is what is known as variance, but in the longer term they deviate less, tending to that 2%.
208  Other / Meta / Re: Is gambling problem or anything related to addiction is an off-topic? on: April 06, 2024, 05:14:42 AM
I just reported one and thought of this thread:

Gambling problems on different races

Really? As if there weren't enough threads on that topic to have another one about what's supposed to happen with gambling supposedly to people of different races. Plus the dumbass in the OP confuses "races" with economic and socio-cultural contexts.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network: A failure? on: April 06, 2024, 05:06:59 AM
I think that most people just stopped using bitcoin for micro payments and which Switched to stablecoins on l2 networks like ETH, ARB, Polygon, etc.

Or fiat currency, simply. Cryptocurrencies are mostly used as an investment, and if you have an investment, which you therefore expect to be worth more in the future, and a fiat currency, which you know depreciates, which one are you going to spend to pay for a coffee? Leaving aside the scalability problems that in a hypothetical future in which everyone would want to pay for coffees with Bitcoin there would be, since the channels have to be opened in the main chain.

And stablecoins have come to be used instead of paying for coffees to lock in profits and/or avoid volatility. So you buy a shitcoin that makes you a 50x and pass it to stable coin just in case the price goes down as fast as it has risen.

210  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: April 05, 2024, 03:51:05 AM
I was going through the Politics and society board and discover a topic i would like to comment on, just for me read through the OP post and digest before making my own contribution got me on this surprise, i got to a paragraph where i could not even understand the whole content or idea the OP was trying to bring out, it seems that some people are really having issues with English language, here is the content below and i couldn't understand anything from there.

So Communities If you got food everybody out of your Community need food so you issue your own currency and you gain wealth.
And all the Community using this currency nobody poor anymore or problems.

Fullbear2222 is a dumbass who has several alts in the forum and is dedicated to say bullshit. He usually opens threads on the Economics board. In this case I think he may actually be a teenager opening threads from his mom's basement in between wankings while eating Doritos and drinking Monster.  Parklane777 is one of his alts, and he has more who can be recognized by the same crappy writing style and the same way of pontificating but I don't even bother trying to prove they are alts. I simply put them on ignore and that's it.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Telegram Casinos (2) on: April 05, 2024, 03:41:37 AM
I agree with the majority of responses, no way in hell am I going to gamble my money on a fucking Telegram casino. For example, a recent case of a forum where they confiscated the funds of a forum member according to a supposed investigation by them and with an unappealable result:

[warning] Pineapple Telegram Poker Game

If you bet on Telegram, then don't cry if things like this happen to you.
212  Economy / Gambling / Re: House Edge on: April 05, 2024, 03:36:52 AM
House edge also tells the rtp of the games.

Yes, it's not that there's any secret about it, it's a simple subtraction. If Stake has 1% HE, the RTP is 99% and if BCH has 2% the RTP is 98%. Just as there is no secret about the difference between the HE of one casino and another, as already explained.
213  Economy / Lending / Re: Why do you take a loan on this forum? on: April 05, 2024, 03:30:49 AM
Banks and family members don't take crypto as collateral.

And they also don't give loans for having a Bitcointalk account, with a certain seniority and prestige and participating in a signature campaing, which is one thing I forgot to say in my previous post.
214  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [warning] Pineapple Telegram Poker Game on: April 04, 2024, 04:52:26 AM
From my experience, transferring funds to a friend is fine.

Well, I am not so sure,  because in the old days in Pokerstars that could be done and years ago they eliminated that possibility.

What strikes me is this:

Resolution:
While we understand that this decision may be disappointing, it is final...

This is another reason why I don't play on crappy crypto sites. If I had a similar problem on Pokerstars, I could appeal externally to the gaming supervisory body or the relevant ministry, but I doubt you can complain anywhere about a poker game on Telegram. In any type of company or business that makes a decision you don't agree with you have external tools to fight with but not against this. They decide, period. And it doesn't do me any good if they say it's based on honest investigation, their protocols, etc.

215  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling kills the fun in these two cases on: April 04, 2024, 04:41:44 AM
Do not make gambling your only source of income or your only means of entertainment, as this will eliminate the first goal of gambling, which is pleasure.

Well, no.

My take on this is to not make gambling your source of income at all.

The moment a gambler begins to see gambling as a means to make money, he ends up becoming addicted.

This the umpthenth time that a thread like this has been created. And in all of them it has been said that the moment a gambler decides to make gambling his source of income or a way for him/her to earn passively that is the day that the gambler started to ruin his life.

People should avoid thinking at all about trying to make money with gambling over the long term,

A better one should be not to make gambling your main source of income but it could be a good means of entertainment.

And many others. The day you find out that there is a type of gambling with which many people get extra income on a regular basis your will lose your mind, won't you?

Gambling cannot be someone's main source of income, even professional gamblers do it as a secondary means of making money,

That's bullshit.  The difference between a professional player and those of us who earn extra income is that the professional is dedicated to it. It is his main job. What happens is that when they are very famous they also diversify, and for example they open Youtube channels and/or other networks that allow them to get extra income.
216  Economy / Gambling / Re: My experience on live bet on: April 04, 2024, 04:30:11 AM
Seeing that the OP has been on the forum but hasn't come back through the thread to comment on any of the issues we have raised, I'd bet he's already gone back to play what he won and lost it. Being the first time and having won a total of $1.2, that would be most likely.
217  Economy / Lending / Re: Why do you take a loan in this forum? on: April 04, 2024, 04:21:59 AM
The two people that I know that take loan on this forum is not because of gambling or trading. It is used for house building purpose. They were both about to finish the house and think of collecting loan to finish it. I am talking about different people and different buildings but both are my friends.

I hope they live in Mogadishu and don't have access to the banking system, then, because taking a loan here and paying an interest rate of 10/15/20% per month, which translates (averaging) to 180% per year when you can take a fixed mortgage in the USA for 7% per year or less and in the EU for 5% per year or less is pretty dumb financially speaking.

I would say, Helena Yu, that in some cases it is people with few resources from poor countries who do not have access to the banking system and in others it is people who use the loans for things that the bank would not give them, such as trading or gambling. That is why they pay such high interest rates.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: April 03, 2024, 05:10:01 AM
What game is your favorite to do this and what’s your record so far if you can still track it?

The bankroll is there precisely to prevent you from having to do that. When you get down to half or less of your initial bankroll what you have to do is to downgrade or reduce the size of the bet. If you are making $1 bets and you have a starting bankroll of $100, the moment you reach $50 you have to go down to $0.50 bet. That's what we do in poker to avoid the risk of bankruptcy and I have had no problem for many years to go down a level but the anxious ones that look for emotions and don't understand well what a bankroll is for instead of reducing the size of the bet continue playing with the same one and go all in, for that you better not even use a bankroll.
219  Economy / Reputation / Re: Get 201 merits in 2 months from a farm on: April 03, 2024, 04:59:22 AM
You're right that it looks weird. There are too many merits in such a short time, and although the posts are OK and are worthy of some merits it's not normal to receive so many, for example in the speculation threads you don't usually receive many merits. Let's see this one:

Another merited post in question, 26 merits.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5482609.msg63543457#msg63543457
Bitcoin dip below $40,000 yesterday which most people thought was going to be the support or lowest price of the market as we were all bullish after Bitcoin ETF got approval from the security & exchange commission. The price of Bitcoin has recovered to trading above $40,000 but it might dip again therefore I'm writing this thread to advice the forum members not to panic. I haven't been too long in the industry as I started my journey recently but during my research and comparing Bitcoin prices before and after the halving, I noticed Bitcoin has never crossed the ATH before the halving but many people are thinking it'll do that this year rather I noticed that it always dips before the halving and that what is happening to the market therefore we shouldn't not be alarmed, this is what happens always from the history of Bitcoin and history always repeats in the market. Lets be guided and don't lose faith as the market is only dipping not crashing.

Although one of those who gives it a merit is DdmrDdmr, who I doubt very much is part of any farm at all, 26 merits for that OP seems clearly too many for what is usually given in that section.

Another one that draws even more attention:

For the short term, Bitcoin trading at $50,000 isn't good as many traders will begin to take profits and this will bring selling pressure that'll make Bitcoin to drop in price. A sign to know when to take profit for traders or those that are investing for the short term is when Bitcoin starts getting to many praises and we're not in the bull market season. The hype will make traders and Investors to start taking profits. Another sign is when your exit target has been reached. If you had a target to sell at $50,000, you should sell and not allow other to convince you. Many people will always be saying Bitcoin will continue rising but Bitcoin takes a break after rising for sometime and I think we're around that period that Bitcoin will experience a correction therefore my advice isn't for holders but traders.

11 merits for that post that is written on page 3 of the speculation section? But if people usually when the thread is on page 3 don't even read the previous comments. I have written posts very similar to that one and I doubt very much that I have received more than a couple of merits, especially if the post is in the middle of page 3.

220  Economy / Reputation / Re: OgNasty, of course, saying bullshit. on: April 03, 2024, 04:49:39 AM
He claimed several times that icopress is my altaccount, and someone really has to be mega-dumb to claim something like that.  Roll Eyes

Lol.

Only cure for 0gnasty disease is to ignore him and his spam posts.

Yes, I think that will be a good solution.

You mean someone shouldn’t make a new thread about me every time I hurt their feelings? But it makes me feel so special…

Og derangement syndrome is in full swing these days. I support people’s right to whine about my mean posts. How else would everyone know they’re snowflakes? These nerds enjoy the attention. Let them have it with their crybaby threads.

While you talk about feelings and how special you feel, I'm expecting facts and rational arguments but that doesn't go much with you. Your argument that suchmoon has supposedly stopped posting because of the mixer ban is bullshit and your barking about me having alts etc that you have pulled out of your sleeve when I have dismantled your argument about suchmoon is a huge montain of bull crap.

Welcome to my ignore list, you are not worth wasting time with.
