201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 28, 2023, 02:26:38 PM
I think Warriors see the value of Gay instead of hiring Howard, which I think might have a future issue with Green. Both are talkative and I guess
Warriors management wanted to prevent that.

Warriors with the healthy trio plus cp3 and the rest of the squad still have that competitive chance of chasing the ring.

LOL, so you're saying Howard has some kind of attitude problem? Smiley

Well, I guess you're right. The big 3 are still the voices of the team, and I think they have the freedom to do everything they want on the floor because they've already achieved success together. Probably, that's one of the reasons why Poole isn't playing the same way anymore. He might have been frustrated when he wasn't in the starting lineup or didn't have the same level of freedom as the big 3.

Howard can be quite demanding as a player, which is understandable given his past star status. However, he needs to be realistic and understand his current role, especially since he's just joining a team and isn't a franchise player anymore.
202  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: September 28, 2023, 09:41:55 AM
I just learned to accept that life is even harder today due to high rising inflation that makes the global economy prone to collapse and if you let yourself carried away with your financial and emotional problems, you will never have the courage to move forward and make positivity in life. The only thing I do is just take advantage of every opportunity that comes, especially when it comes to crypto investment. It’s not actually how big we can earn every time we try to be profitable, but how long we can sustain and overcome those financial struggles that are brought by this worldly epidemic that hit everyone of us.
203  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you on guard for any unexpected? on: September 27, 2023, 09:00:17 PM
But what if, we are caught off guard by the market at this snapshot point with another unexpected long dip again whereas we're expecting a little more pump in October?
Holders will not think about it at all. This is not the first time the market has behaved like this. What you call volatility is not still volatile because it is possible that bitcoin may lose $2000 or more in just an hour which makes this volatility to be little. There can be high volatile and that is how bitcoin market is sometimes.

Only the affected people are the traders who day trade or scalp. If a scalper or day trader go short position today, they are losing already. But that is what holders will not still consider as loss.
Exactly. Bitcoin had never a fixed price so expect that any time of the day, it’s price will eventually go down lower or might even make another increase. And this is not really new for a volatile market like crypto. Holders should never put too much expectation on the market because we don’t hold what will be the price of bitcoin an hour after, a day after or even a year after. So even if bitcoin is expecting to pump this October, still it could always go the opposite way.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 27, 2023, 02:23:19 PM
Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.
You handled it quite well. There is always the downside that kids will still learn everything eventually, through peer groups, television or the internet, it helps to teach it to them and point them to what they can do and what they cannot quite do yet.

- Jay -

Parents also needs to step up and tell about the downside too. Parents need to highlight the bad side of gambling so that even if their peer groups or some sort of adverts come up , they should be able to not fall for it. Kids are curious these days so I feel that one way or another they will find out but when they start to become curious and starts asking a bit more questions, parents should be ready as well to properly guide them what is wrong and right.
Kids may come up with questions we never expect, especially in things that they’ve seen we are doing, that’s why we should know how to direct them positively and explain them as well as to what’s the consequences once they decide to do that. It’s still different if parents will be the one to educate their children about gambling and other vices than to learn them from their peers or from the internet as they may get wrong perceptions and start applying it within theirselves.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if your country did not legalize cryptocurrency? on: September 27, 2023, 11:28:59 AM
Bitcoin enthusiasts does not stop there when your country does not legalize bitcoin. Continue your routine of accumulating more bitcoin, but stay being low key and private so that the people around will not be suspicious that you are into bitcoin. Bitcoin has its anonymity feature so I don’t think it will be a problem. If you decide to withdraw and use your bitcoin as a payment, then just go into a country where bitcoin is widely legal and is free to use so you can also enjoy your fruits of investment.
206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 27, 2023, 08:35:29 AM
What I see is that the Bucks and Celtics have good rosters, but unfortunately, they don't have a good coach as skilled as the Heat's.

Erik Spoelstra has been with the Heat for over 26 seasons, and he got his first championship experience back in the 05/06 season when the Heat won their first title under Riley. At that point, he was still just an assistant coach. But when he became the head coach, he also gained valuable experience leading the Heat's big trio. So Spo is indeed a very experienced coach, but it seems that it is not enough, considering that the Heat have already failed literally one step away from the title a few times.

I guess their lineup isn't that strong because Coach Spo has already proven in the past that with a good roster, he can help them win a championship. Remember that LeBron got his first championship with Coach Spo, and it was actually a back-to-back championship in 2012 and 2013. The roster then consisted of a big three, all of whom were Hall of Famers, especially Wade and LeBron. I'm not sure about Chris Bosh, though, as he wasn't able to finish his career due to health issues.
207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does bitcoin price increase after halving? on: September 26, 2023, 06:02:02 PM
As long as people continue to believe in the hype, the price will certainly increase, but it's just for the short run. What we have witnessed in the past might happen again, as the hype is big, leading to a buying spree. However, as the hype cools down, that's when people go into panic mode. It hasn't changed since; what we're going to witness in the future could be the same, maybe even bigger, and could lead to another new all-time high for Bitcoin.

What we should do is not miss the party, join it, and take advantage of the opportunity. But bear in mind that to ensure profit, you need to have good timing in buying and selling, as it's crucial for short-term success.
208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 26, 2023, 07:59:08 AM

And with the case of Howard, he had a good time in Taiwan, numbers are good and yet his team failed. P

Sure he had a good time but he treated it like a circus.
He took more 3 points shots in 1 game than in his whole NBA career. Of course if miraculously hit some but yet the overall % was underwhelming, haha.

He had problems with players that had a similar built and height as him, even in Taiwan.
And as we all know, his team came in dead last, not even close to the next position.
I've seen some videos highlights where he struggles against a younger, taller, and probably stronger center, and sometimes he makes bad decisions because he keeps forcing shots. Yes, he also has the freedom to shoot threes. Howard really thinks that he is still in his prime, but if we look at his performance, he isn't the same anymore.

About the preseason. The first 1 or 2 games of each team will be exiting since the teams mostly play all their stars before shutting them down for the rest of the games.
Players that participated in the world cup ( it's not many anyway ) maybe won't play I guess but the rest should be locked and loaded I expect.

How certain are you that they will play their stars? Has it been a trend in the past? I'm just curious, and I'd like to know how you can say that.
209  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: September 26, 2023, 05:50:19 AM
Let me be clear. I ordered a withdrawal of $740, before that I was withdrawn $50, and in total I made a deposit of $700. The total profit was $90. I still haven't received my money yet if anyone is interested.

Its actually a simple case, probably something flag their security system hence they asked for KYC

If you didnt do anything suspicious on their site then all you can do is wait until they cleared your  KYC. There has been many cases around with Duelbits but all of those cases that show no foul play on their site will be granted access to withdraw from their site so all you gotta do is wait. Complaining here wont help you a bit though
He needs to trust  the system for a while because there is nothing he can do for now .its just days old case and sometimes KYC verification and some related issues takes weeks or even months depend on the case,
better to just check the update from the support , and PM the OP here if you still have not  done .

He made a withdrawal of 740$ and out of this, only 90$ is his profit. If he was playing on any untrusted new gambling site, they could have scammed him but Duelbits will have no problem withdrawing this amount. However, if they have delayed or asked for additional KYC etc, then there may be some violation on the gambler's part but it is too early to say unless we have an official verdict on it.

Until then, he should wait and if he has done nothing wrong, he will definitely get his withdrawal processed.

Did he wager all his deposits before making a withdrawal? If not, I think the system will be triggered, as it's not possible with Duelbet. If you deposit an amount, you should gamble the entire amount before making a withdrawal. This is done to avoid mixing of funds or what we call money laundering.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Flip or Trade? What’s The Bigger Gamble? on: September 25, 2023, 01:28:02 PM

What’s your take? Does day trading seem more of a gamble compared to a straight-up coin flip

Of course, I would go for day trading if I intended to develop my skills and be successful in the long run. On the other hand, you are talking about a coin flip, which is 50/50. You won't have an advantage in that; your only chance to win is luck, and no one is lucky all the time. So, that is not something to focus on, probably for entertainment purposes only.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A matter of family conflict regarding Bitcoin. on: September 22, 2023, 07:51:31 PM
This is actually unavoidable if you like marrying your bitcoin because of greed, and your whole life turns with it. Once you start seeing things are not working based on your plan, you will start to feel uncontrollable and resort into making some family conflict because of your unfortunate outcome from bitcoin investment. It just proves that once you invest in bitcoin, be sure to be more open minded and never expect too much from your investment so you won’t get easily affected once it turns out not working according to your plan.
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: September 22, 2023, 12:33:05 PM

He should be the underdog. I would bet against anyone who thinks he could be the favorite on the betting sites. Just shoot me a PM.

There's no betting odds yes but this site below shows its early prediction of odds.

Prediction and Odds
[ Early Beta ]
After considering the both the fighters' stats and their performance patterns, the winning odds is calculated to be at 52-48 in favor of Takuma Inoue. Note, this is a very close margin, just barely better than a 50-50 case.

It makes sense, though, as Inoue is the champion, and the odds being very close are not surprising at all. As a fan, I just want to see a great fight, and I'm sure Jerwin is well-motivated to win because he wants to become a champion again. His last win against Wilner Soto is a statement that he has already recovered from two consecutive losses.

I like that odds in the beginning, meaning, it will be Jerwin Ancajas as a slight underdog.
So there could be value in our bets for Ancajas it, of course, it going to be change, but if he is the underdog, then ML will be a great bet already.
And as you have said, Ancajas is going to be motivated here, he knows what the feeling of being a champion already, and so he wants that respect again.
Although his opponent is not that good previously, still it's a moral boosting win for him.

Great odds for both fighters as backers won't have to worry about the value they are getting. Getting 1.85 for the moneyline, at the very least, would be good enough if we are too confident in our pick. Whether it's Ancajas or Inoue who wins the fight, since fans are likely divided 50/50, it should be entertaining to bet on and watch a fight that is sure to be a close contest.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 22, 2023, 11:39:50 AM
Phoenix news is reporting that the Dallas Mavericks made a trade offer to the Phoenix Suns for DeAndre Ayton but it apparently was a very bad offer so they declined. I’m actually glad they did and hope they hold onto him. I think Ayton was a big part of their run for the Finals and with a new coach I’m expecting him to have a big year.

There's nothing wrong with Andrew Ayton and seems to doing everything he can to get them back to the NBA finals so there's no reason for him to be traded to the other teams with some low offers. with the new fresh coach and other new players recently added, they will get back to that easily if they have some sort of player that can stop Jokic this year. I think KD will be able to play more comfortably this season because he rests well and finally gets back on track.

I think you are referring to Deandre Ayton, and yes, there's nothing wrong with him because his stats during the finals against the Bucks is just good enough. We can check his stats and we can see that he was really contributing to the team, it's just that Booker has some struggle too, but that was 6 games, so the team is still good in competing with the Bucks who are the bigger team I think.

Deandre Ayton has averaged 14.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 6 games in the NBA Finals in his career.
214  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you expect better, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? on: September 22, 2023, 08:03:38 AM
Hey all, I am new here: I've been reading a lot, and not posting much at first. You have a great place to learn at BCT. When trading crypto do you expect better, from yourself, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? Has anyone reading this ever found a cure? How do you permanently change and naturally be patient? Thanks all.
After i have made some several winnings in my first trades, I think I was better and then all of sudden decide to ride the FOMO and everything fall apart. That’s when I realized that FOMO is just another trap in the market that we should avoid. Otherwise, we will always miss opportunities and never get to success. If you don’t have the knowledge and wisdom when trading, probably you will end up riding the FOMO all the time.
You’re right indeed. Trading requires consistent focus and deep determination to be successful and reach your goal. So if you suddenly change your direction and decide to ride in FOMO instead, it will only ruin your attention and eventually mess up with your trades. At the end of the day, you will realize that your trades are no longer working according to your plan. FUDs and FOMO are among the factors that we should learn to avoid. Otherwise, success will only remain as a dream.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Do you think Satoshi Would Think About Today's Bitcoin? on: September 21, 2023, 03:58:09 PM
We can say that this is not what Satoshi has imagined but I also don’t think he’ll be sad nor regret his invention. Bitcoin is still paving its way to its global adoption, maybe not as a peer to peer currency at the moment but I guess in the long run, people will certainly consider and eventually use it as a good digital currency. For now, let’s just be contented seeing bitcoin as a store of value, soon it will be a peer to peer currency just like Satoshi has envisioned.
216  Economy / Reputation / Re: Looks like a phishing attack! Should we avoid them? on: September 21, 2023, 03:11:46 PM
Thanks for reporting this, and yes, it's an obvious scam. Nowadays, 0.005 is a significant amount of money already. When converted to USD at the current price, it's $132.9. So, it's too good to be true for a site to be giving away such a large amount just for signing up with them. If there's a link, don't automatically click on it, as sometimes it will redirect to a different URL, probably a phishing site. This is just some basic information to protect our crypto assets, and it's imperative that we all know this.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: September 21, 2023, 02:37:46 PM
snip
We don't have to pay anything with cryptocurrency, I don't think worth with tax transaction have to pay in gambling platform because gambling not always profitable and losing position keep have to pay with tax. Maybe could acceptable when earning profit trough gambling is fine for tax cut off but if position loss we faced double loss for tax and gambling platform. I don't think who ideas about tax gambling but in my country casino and gambling platform have been legalize required for paying tax and depend with the country rule how many percent of tax paying depend on minimum or maximum amount depositing in gambling or casino account.

This type of tax enforcement would discourage gamblers and could potentially harm the gambling industry. Who would be happy to find out that, after saving for the bankroll of their gambling session, they have to pay taxes first before they can gamble? And if they win, they also need to declare the winnings for additional taxes. If this really exists in certain countries, I think sooner or later the gambling industry could go bankrupt.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is KYC mandatory in CEX? on: September 20, 2023, 08:50:34 PM
CEX are highly regulated by groups or entities, so it’s also expected that this exchange in return will also follow what the regulators have imposed to them. And this compulsory KYC is one factor that will make an exchange more centralized and monitored by the government or any other group or entity. That’s why if you are in a centralized exchange, consider KYC as compulsory.
219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions dealing on: September 20, 2023, 12:25:09 PM
The essence why we trade is to make profit through taking and in trading the outcome we get is either lost or gain, but some people have taking trading to make profits as a do or die affairs,  if they don't get exactly the profits they want, they would want to continue to get what they have targeted as profits. A mindset like this can lead to emotional feelings which can never be helpful to trading , people should learn to accept their lose and learn more to know what could be the cause for their failure in trading to get profits,  than just trading continuously in lose without getting a good knowledge for better outcomes.
We all trade for profits, that some traders resort into trading with high emotions and when they fail in their trades, they easily become frustrated and eventually lost their concentration in trading. And it’s like a do or die thing like you said. However, I also believe that this can’t be avoided most especially for beginner traders as they tend to be highly emotional at first, but when they start learning some lessons in trading, that’s when they get wiser and become cautious when trading.
220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: September 20, 2023, 07:53:40 AM
Not sure how to do it , because like if I play in online casino using crypto and i can easily withdraw the funds without any issue , so not sure where or why need to pay taxes? and I believe i am not going against the law .
but if being asked? of course i will surely bring to tax all my winnings.

In general, it shouldn't matter if you're gambling in crypto or fiat, if your winnings are above a certain threshold, and if you're in a country which taxes gambling winnings, then you would need to pay taxes on it.

It's your responsibility to know how much taxes you owe. And if the tax man needs to "ask you", they will not ask kindly Cheesy

Actually, there's a significant difference because not all countries regulate crypto. When it comes to paying taxes on crypto winnings, the challenge lies in explaining those gains. In many cases, authorities might struggle to account for them due to the lack of comprehensive regulations. Essentially, cryptocurrency becomes taxable only when you decide to convert it into traditional currency. However, there are methods such as using a mixer to obscure your transactions, making it difficult for authorities to enforce taxes on unregulated crypto holdings.
