1201  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the golden rule of investment? on: June 01, 2022, 09:56:53 PM
I have a friend who invests in cryptocurrency like me, he is an investor hold Luna and he has also lost quite a bit because of Luna. But what's more sad is his 2 best friends. Those two are also hold a lot of Luna's and Luna's crash causes them to lose all their possessions and become insane. As he said, one person has gone through the crisis and one has not. Those two guys who invested in Luna were all from my friend's advice. He said it was he who indirectly harmed them, money can be earned, but his friend are gone.

This is a sad story that I have heard. Through this story I want everyone to know 1 golden rule in investing is: never give financial advice to anyone. By the time you give them financial advice, you may feel like you're one step ahead of them, but if that advice is wrong, you could be the one hurting them.

This is why i don't convince my friends to invest in crypto because this is a very risky investment. One could lose all his hard earned money just because of doing wrong moves in crypto. If they think they can make quite a fortune in crypto, i always tell them to DYOR  first before they create conclusions. It's not that crypto is all about profits, but more on losses too that is why i don't give financial advice as i don't want to be responsible on their future losses.
1202  Economy / Economics / Re: Share your Money management strategy on: June 01, 2022, 08:40:42 PM
Aside from investing and holding bitcoin, the best asset that one can have is real estate. This is proven and most the billionaires and wealthy people are into it. You get an appreciating asset and you can rent it out which is a great and effortless business. Although it's requiring a huge capital, that's how it goes and if you want to have a passive income, that's the best choice that I can always recommend to the others aside from investing into crypto or doing some staking with alts that are too volatile. And if it's about money management, it's not about how much you earn but how much you save and invest.
I have to agree that this real estate is one of the best passive income in most countries since buyers and renters do not stop from looking where to buy or where to rent. And as the years go by, its value never depreciate but keeps on appreciating just like the prices of foods nowadays. I guess no essentials are becoming less valuable nowadays, prices of everything seems going up. The best way to manage your money is never on budgeting actually, but to see it going to the right investments that is now giving you a good source of income.
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Depression Starts in Cryptocurrency Anytime on: May 31, 2022, 11:33:40 PM
Why Depression Starts in Cryptocurrency Anytime. some time gain profit some time loss.i feel any time depression.
It means that you are not ready for this crypto business.
Ready here means that you are ready with the risks, not only the gains. And I think also that actually, life is like this, isn't it? Nothing will run very well always, sometimes, there is something that doesn't match with our expectations.
Cryptocurrency investment brings so much risks and pressures knowing its highly volatile so if you cannot manage them well, depression may eventually occur. However, if you are ready for all the unexpected things to happen because this crypto market is certainly unpredictable, getting depressed is far to be possible. And always invest what you can afford to lose, that way you will never be hurt so badly even if you end up losing from them.
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC? on: May 31, 2022, 10:30:38 PM
Hello all,

I have been following Bitcoin prices for some time, and now I'm doubtful if it is a good time to start accepting it as it has changed so much in the past months. Those who accept Bitcoin - is it worth it? And do you accept Bitcoin straight to your wallet, or do you use third-party services?

Thanks in advance!
If you believe in the real potentials of bitcoin, i think it will never be a wrong move to start accepting bitcoin either as a payment or from someone who knew you well. Once your intention is to hodl it and only sell when there is a reaonable price to sell, i guess it will be very heplful a lot since you will make big amount of profits out of long term hodling. Also, it could be a reserve funds for emergency cases, so its always a win-win scenario if you have bitcoins to own and hodl.
1205  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin drops to $8k on: May 31, 2022, 09:30:56 PM
Lets assume Guggenheim's Minerd speculation on bitcoin having an ultimate bottom of $8k if it hits $30k referencing the "[U.S. Federal Reserve] being restrictive.”, Currently bitcoin price is below $28k and from the look of things this speculation might and might not be accurate but what if bitcoin price falls to this very dip.

I am asking what will you sell to buy more bitcoin if this speculation ever happens or will you choose to  sell off all your bitcoin due to FUD.
I don't think i am going to sell part of my coins if ever bitcoin drops into $8k because we all know that when bitcoin price is dropping, majority of the coins are dropping too so its gonna be selling at a loss if i consider that. Instead, i will continue hodling all my coins and just spend some of my extra funds to buy more cheap bitcoin. That way, i know i will be hodling them all for profits, not for losses instead.
1206  Economy / Economics / Re: Enticing customers to make payment with crypto. on: May 30, 2022, 11:39:25 PM
Is this a possible way to entice customers who do not like to pay with crypto, Will offering discounts for goods when a customer pays with crypto or free gifts encourage and entice more customers to use their crypto for payment of goods? If I offer discounts which will encourage more of my customers to get crypto, how can I possibly sustain it for long to ensure that i don't run at a loss?
If giving discounts and some free gifts, there's still a way to cope with it through bringing your profits first. Your mark-up has to be a little down if you'll budget the discounts.

That's all you need to do, a re-calculation on how much will come to you and how much you'll give to those crypto payments from your customers as an incentive.
Its a matter of profits vs discounts. So which one makes your top priority? Because if you enter business to encourage bitcoiners to use their bitcoins, then at the same time you will also lose your profits from fiat. Maybe you should come up with your final decision, its either you'll focus on fiat or crypto instead. Otherwise, you will lose your means of living if that becomes your only source of income.
1207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Approaches That make Losing Become a Constant event on: May 30, 2022, 09:42:58 PM
Warning Only invest what you can afford to lose at whatever time.
At whatever point as a newbie in cryptocurrency one needs to eliminate the tendency for fear and greed, these two bad personalities can affect your total well being in the cryptocurrencies market, if you noticed a lot of investors who jump on a coin just for the sake of making a quick buck are the ones who mostly cry when the price goes against their prediction. This situation has placed most newbies in an unrecoverable condition so I feel it important we all get some things straight before putting our eggs in any basket if not the basket will wider the chances of making any profits from putting our egg in them. Don't get greedy always move within your limit, and grow along the line. Don't be quick to make a decision just because a coin did 10x.
That is always a big mistake if you are investing for quick profits, and since those shitcoins and meme coins are sometimes giving profits 5x or 10x, then you end up investing on them. The result is there is no sustainable profits because they are just good in the beginning but lose their value afterwards. Most newbies' mistake is that they fail to see the long term vision of the coins because they are tempted with what is profitable in the present. To avoid that, invest in bitcoin. Its value will appreciate every now and then.
1208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Nearly Bailed Me Out on: May 30, 2022, 08:48:27 PM
So I needed some funds to make up for a payment. I contacted three of my clients who were supposed to pay for some writing jobs but the payments were delayed. I was getting frantic when I remembered that one of my old Blockchain wallets. I started wondering if the wallet I hadn't used for years could have some valuable bitcoins. I also remembered that I had the seed words in my phone as a screenshot (crazy!) so I imported the wallet. Boy, you wouldn't believe how much I had in there. Not up to all the money I needed but enough to make a difference.

I wonder who else has access to old wallets Smiley
Wow that's a relief!  You're just one of those who successfully retrieve their old wallet with bitcoin in it, luckily you still have that seed screenshot. But maybe you're putting your seed phrase in danger when you are just keeping it in your gallery and that some friends of yours may accidentally open it. So have it store in a very safe place wherein you're the only one who can access it. Do it now before you lost your bitcoin and feel sorry for it.
1209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do sportsbook does not apply parlay on the same event? on: May 27, 2022, 04:06:10 PM
I'm just curious guys, I like to ask your opinion on why sportsbooks do not apply parlay on the same event. I remember when I was new to sports betting, one of the sites I'm using allowed it but now it's not possible anymore.

What do you think are the reasons for that?

Interesting observation here.  So you're saying there are no known ( to you ) sportsbooks sites that have same game parlays, like for example you're saying you can't place a parlay on say an NFL football game, where you parlay the over/under, spread, player x to pass for more than 100 yards, and player b will rush for over 100 yards?  If this is what you mean by your post, I am surprised to hear this. Maybe because if a game goes one way, like a really high scoring game, then all those things can be easily connected in which makes the parlay a lot easier to win versus a parlay with a multitude of games?

I am not so familiar with NFL games, so I would show an example on the NBA game tomorrow which is the Celtics vs Heat. On my bookie, we have Celtics that thas a spread of -8.5, and the over/under is 201.5. If I decide to place a  parlay bet on (-8.5 + under 201.5), this is not possible because it's on the same event.
1210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 27, 2022, 03:38:27 PM
Well it's looking like the Golden State Warriors versus the Boston Celtics will be out NBA Championship game.  I had thought that it would be Golden State once the Brooklyn Nets lost in the first round (which I am still amazed by).  While I think the Celtics are a pretty damn good team, I don't think the Warriors will have much of a problem taking them out.  Steph and Klay are just too good.  Imagine being a Warriors fan and having two of the top 5 shooters of all time, as well as one of them is the undisputed best shooter of all time..must be nice (though I'm a Chicago Bulls fan and I can't say I haven't been unlucky with the players we've had throughout the years, pretty fun having the best player of all time).
Maybe you'll find luck betting on the Warriors to win the NBA Championship. They are the more ready team as they don't struggle to go to the NBA Finals. Celtics, on the other hand, is not a team that can be underestimated, they work hard to be in the situation now, and despite their experience with lots of injuries from their roster, they are still here fighting to be in the NBA finals.
1211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 27, 2022, 02:19:29 PM
The Heat - Celtics series is coming to an end soon. Celtics are in the lead by 3-2 for now. Their high effort in the last two games of the series was worth appreciating very much I think. But I expect Heat to win the third game actually. It is just like a sixth sense or something like that for me.  Grin  But when it comes to the probable winner of the series, I'll continue with Celtics. I like the way they compete more than Heat's. I will just expect them to defend Heat strongly in the seventh game and win 4-3 at the end.
I hope the Celtics will continue to play hard, they need to keep their composure as closing a series is not easy. Their advantage is they are at their home court, the fans are supporting them as they like to celebrate the success of the Celtics if they will beat the Heat tomorrow.

The hype is gone for the Heat now, though I would say they are a good team, they have not made the right adjustment in the series resulting in a blowout loss in game 5.

1213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What approach do you expect from the Government if your Country adopt bitcoin? on: May 26, 2022, 05:10:21 PM
Starting from a topic started by Ratimov: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? so my inspiration to start this thread suddenly appeared where right now i really am would like to know what you think and expect if your country decides to adopt bitcoin as a legal tender.

We all know that El Salvador boldly announced to the world that they adopted bitcoin as a currency as well as legal tender. Many of us agree that this is an expected development, but in the end we can learn from the country [El Salvador] that to achieve successful adoption, the country and its government must also have a good approach and take the right steps. It is clear that this approach will have an impact on the success of the adoption, but so far El Salvador has failed with the adoption because their approach is not as perfect as expected based on the research.

Well, if El Salvador is considered to have failed with its bitcoin adoption so far [perhaps they have never failed 100%] then what do you expect if one day your country also decides to adopt bitcoin as a currency and legal tender especially regarding the approach and steps your government should take?
The problem with El Salvador before is that their decision to adopt bitcoin as a legal tender was made all of a sudden. And then it took only months i think that they finally declare bitcoin to be their new legal currency. So the people have been in pressure adjusting on learning bitcoin, its usage and how to transact bitcoin in their daily living, considering some people are illiterate and do not even have access on smart phones. Not surprising why some people ended up having strikes. So i think the very first thing to do that a government should do is to spread awareness by making all the citizens educated on bitcoin. Once good education is set up, then people will certainly understand the whole purpose of bitcoin and how it can be very useful for the success of the whole country.
1214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bear Market Can Be A Waste Of Time or Useful Depending on How We Approach It on: May 26, 2022, 04:34:46 PM
Bear times are really a hard time for all the coins including bitcoin but bitcoin and few established coin will later increase leaving the new projects down. For now as we see the market is in red and every coin is in red, it is a survival for the project soon when bull will come. Investment in projects that has utility purposes is better because they will always be needed and they have to increase again after falling.
Yes, this bear market will never be easy for us, but it always brings big opportunity to enter the market, and for those who want to accumulate more potential coins to add in their portfolio. Sad to say, not all realized this. Others chose to escape and leave the market because of panic and that's how this bear market become useless for them. But for those who remained calm and smart, this bear market is the start of a new challenge, and only those projects who have long term vision and real use cases end up surviving, while others fail and lose their value along the way.
1215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: May 26, 2022, 01:53:45 PM
I didn't expect that this fight would still happen. GGG will surely be a threat to Canelo. Canelo have lost in his previous fights so he really needs strong stamina to beat GGG by knockout or at least by unanimous decision. He must prepare well for this match because he will face a champion. Canelo is a good fighter but this match would really be challenging for him.
Canelo has already the stamina, and both fighters have already fought 2 times and it was Canelo who was victorious. Now, we go to the final part, Canelo is surely still the favorite here, but I would always like to go against him for GGG as GGG is a decent fighter, he will never back down.

by the way, if we like to check the full details, we can read the article below.

Quote
Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennadiy Golovkin 3 betting odds
Per the FanDuel Sportsbook (via OddsChecker), Canelo the -390 favorite, meaning a wager of $390 will result in a $100 profit. Golovkin is the +290 underdog.
1216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 26, 2022, 01:16:09 PM
That's what happens to gamblers because not all gamblers can open up and tell other people because, in some countries, gambling is considered nothing and will instead be given a negative impression.
So for those gamblers, keep their stories about gambling and don't share them with others.
It will be even more difficult if the gamblers are addicted because no one will know.

No matter where do we live, we should start to share our experience once gambling is started to be a "problem" in our life. If we keep it ourselves as a secret and no one knows, it is possible that it will become a bigger problem. If we share it to our close-friends or family, we may hear some opinions and hopefully to get a better solution to get rid of the problem.
share our problem could make our feel comfort and relieved , all obstacles can be conveyed . we can learn important thing about how dangerous is gambling by spread our stories,  i am believe it could give positive influenced to people to recently start their bet. by giving an example it will easier to accept by  some else especially our family and closed friend.
Gambling is never dangerous, in fact, it's viewed as entertainment, maybe you use the wrong word for it, it's risky, not dangerous. What dangerous is gambling addiction, because you are not controlling yourself anymore and you'll be gambling with money you cannot afford to lose anymore.
1217  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was $25K the bottom? on: May 25, 2022, 11:42:52 PM
For whatever reason, the market is bearish again. However, I'm not surprised with what happened, and not so surprised that bitcoin falls back to $28k again, it's the lowest I guess. It has slightly recovered back to $30k but it's struggling to stay, so I'll probably just prepare myself for another dump in the coming days.

IIRC, it was not only $6k, but bitcoin dump to $3k after it achieved a $20k ATH.
That happened after over a year from the date bitcoin reach its ATH.

So $20k to $3k, so it's possible to see at $10k price.
I think as long as we always see the market stay in bearish, then there's always high chances for more dumps along the way. It has happened already before, and that history plays a big role because sometimes history repeats itself. Well, it would be another buying opportunity once it happens. For now, let's always think for more possibilities that this is not yet the lowest price, we should at least prepare more funds so we can maximize our purchase when bitcoin is already very cheap and affordable.
1218  Economy / Economics / Re: Where to invest everything looking bearish on: May 25, 2022, 11:26:14 PM
If you're asking where to invest it means you have some money lying around. In such case, just buy bitcoin. It's already down more than half from its ATH and fundamentals are as strong as ever.
Most obvious options are BTC, ETH, gold if you're expecting prolonged recession. A small apartment for rent is also a good option even though prices are high. If we continue to fall into depression people won't have money to buy houses, many will decide to rent and wait it out, which is why demand for small inexpensive places to live will remain high.
As most of the people are more on investments rather than buying properties that do not create income, then maybe the reason why people stay renting from their small apartments and maximize their investments with all the money they earn for investing. And for the best investment, i would suggest only bitcoin. Its value never fail to amaze us, whether it drops or surges. And in fact, the bear market we have right now is the perfect time to invest, so do not miss the opportunity to buy more bitcoin as it can bring good wealth especially if you chosr to keep it for long term.
1219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stay humble and stay safe on: May 25, 2022, 10:48:11 PM
Newbies and those who have the brag attitude in them this is for you, don't ever and ever talk about crypto to people who know where you lives, that includes your neighbors because you will be marked, crypto is a like Fiat, if anyone wants to rob for Fiat bank is the way but crypto? You keep your keys safe at home, when criminals know this you are in for some trouble
If those people around you starts eyeing on you because you talk too much about your investments and the profits you have gained, then prepare yourself for the worst. Its not that people will always appreciate what you have and what you have been achieving, but most of them are silently killing theirselves with envy. That's when they start planning against you and make yourself another victim of robbery and worst family massacre.
1220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So my portfolio is down %70...too late to pull back now I guess on: May 25, 2022, 10:12:53 PM
This downtrend has been detrimental to my health (mental health). Exactly %70 just now. No lunch money type of money either.

Have we ever experienced this kind of downtrend before?? What's the latest on how long this might last, or if it's even going to recover.
This is just the beginning, you will still experience more decline in your portfolio when the  market turns more bearish so be ready for that. However, this is what all smart investors have been waiting to come, to take advantage of the current bear market and buy more bitcoin while they are not yet recovering. Otherwise, you will never enjoy the bear market and lose the chance to build your wealth in your portfolio. As no one knows how long this bear market will be, i think its best to just enjoy doing DCA until you ran out of your funds allocated for your investments.
