I thought that Christianity is well past the days of inquisition and beheading. Nowadays this sort of behavior is more typical of the Muslims. Islamic militants have executed people just because they couldn't recite the verses from the Koran.
If it was legal where they live, Christians would be executing people the same way ISIS is doing. Ideologically there is no difference between the Quran and the Bible. I guess "moderate" Christians ignore/justify Leviticus the same way the "moderate" Muslims ignore/justify the violent passages in the Quran. |

It is very difficult to answer this sensitive question. If we give no importance to IP rights, then it will discourage brilliant people and there will be less and less innovation. But if it gets too strict, then a lot of poor people will be unable to afford medicines, technology, and entertainment.
There are many selfless brilliant people that would release inventions for free. Problem is that the system is controlled by greed. Most geniuses do not care that much about the money. |

If there is a creator, who created him? If there is a God, where does he come from? How does he live? Does he have only one universe? What happens when he dies? Can science answer the question of where all of this came from? Of course not, even the great philosophers cant explain it and end up into the fact that their is someone who designed all the things. There is no scientific proof for any age beyond about 4,500 years. There might be a lot of circular evidence, a lot of science theory, but there is no proof. This means that, according to science fact, the earth is only about 4,500 years old. We can assume that it is older. But we don't know from science. The Bible record might be a religious thing, but strong traditions among the Jews is the Biblical timeline of about 6,200 years, in their Old Testament, the Tanakh. They are a living race of people, not some dead race that cannot speak. Nailed. Science is just a product of the curiosity of the stupid people like all of us anyways. Science cant even explain what are the creatures under water yet scientists believe that there is really a life form underwater how come that they dont believe on the creator(god). You've been in a terrible accident, and you're losing blood fast. So where do you ask the ambulance crew to drive you to? A) Hospital, as they have a good chance of more blood supplies. or B) Church. Best place so you can pray for God for help. See. Your trust in God is a tiny atom of unimportance compared to your huge trust in medical science. So you see, don't knock science too much, you trust it more than you care to admit. Why not just learn how to respect belief of others or why not just simply respect them?
If you respect beliefs that are opposite of your beliefs, you are changing your beliefs. Respect the people of those beliefs because they are people. Don't respect beliefs except if they ring true with you. You always agitate for religion, but religious beliefs are not similar to the truth. This is what gives me the right not to respect? I don't agree with it. I am not attempting to agitate. I am simply showing points of fact. You have your religious freedom to agree or not to agree. But if you start disrespecting people because you don't respect their beliefs, then you are heading in the direction of violence. You are missing the point. The money system is riding bubbles that might drop money out from under the project anytime. Donations to God are helping people find other people for salvation to everlasting life. If tomorrow scientists discover ways to travel to other galaxies at warp speeds, he will claim that God decided to give us this information so that humanity can live to see another day. He will claim that it is thanks to God (not the scientists) that we can colonize another planet (that God prepared for us), etc. He will find some verse in the Bible (or write a new version of the Bible) and say that this "so-and-so" verse means that God prepared other planets for people to live on.... The point is so that people don't elect people who say: "I went to war because God told me to wage a war against the evil doers." When someone says "I am Christian (Muslim or Jew)" you should immediately question their judgement and critical thinking. Such people should not be in decision making positions in government or business. This thread was started to show how stupid and outdated the Bible is and to expose Christian stupidity. How can Atheism be a religion when a religion is belief in a deity? Atheism has no deities, holy books or sacraments. I'm an atheist and I don't have any beliefs. You need to prove to me without a doubt that something is real for me to believe understand it. Otherwise its just made up stories.
I also do not hate on anyone. From my experiences the only people that have that emotion are religious people.
Not all religions formally have belief in a deity. However, atheists do... have faith in a deity. They believe that they can judge that God doesn't exist anywhere, when they haven't examined everywhere to find out for sure. When they believe this way, they have made themselves into deities, at least in their own minds, even if they don't realize it. Any atheist who doesn't understand that he is making himself a god by being an atheist, is simply one who is too ignorant to realize that God might be living on Jupiter or somewhere else in the universe. And that because the atheist only realizes that God might exist out there when someone tells him, it isn't until then that he isn't an atheist any longer. Some atheists try to uphold the idea of atheism even after it has been shown to them that real atheism can't exist in a thinking person. Such people have a religion going for themselves in atheism. Interesting how you know the thought's of an atheist yet you claim to be a theist. Does this mean you know every single thought going on in my head? Making yourself out to be something special there old boy! The guy speaks with God and like he said: "God speaks through me". So basically, talking to him is like talking to God. Of course he thinks he knows what you are thinking. He might be a schizophrenic for all we know. |
