Any news ? Any forum where at least the users are trying to recover stolen funds ? I'd like to be part of any such initiative, even if it has 1% chance of recovery.

There's also a group titled "Wex Money Trail" but I can't find a link right now.

Either way, the chances of getting anything back are very low, so don't get your hopes up.

I just do not want CZ to have complete control over this whole industry, that's all. Let's keep some competition among exchanges alive! Roll Eyes

Then other exchanges need to step up their game try harder when it comes to competing. That means offering better services such as moving to friendlier jurisdictions to avoid KYC for cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals. Binance only grew so huge due to being better than their competition.

OP shouldn't try booting an operating system on the affected drive, but connecting it to a different computer to make a copy of the contents should be fine.
2084  Local / Alternatywne kryptowaluty / Re: gdzie rozdają kryptowaluty za darmo? on: June 10, 2019, 10:09:45 PM

2086  Local / Polski / Re: Czy można przywrócić usunięty post? on: June 10, 2019, 09:40:40 PM
Co się dzieje z usuniętymi postami? Można je gdzieś znaleźć i przwrócić?

2087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin ATM's reliable? on: June 10, 2019, 09:10:29 PM
Why can't they just scan your bank credit/debt card? You need it to withdraw the money anyway. I don't see why you need to carry your ID around. I don't even carry my drivers with me, I keep it in the car so I always have it.
I always keep my bank card in my wallet so it makes sense because I think everyone keeps their bank card but not their ID I don't like to carry my ID with me incase I lose it. It is much easier to replace a lost banking card then an ID.

I think most Bitcoin ATMs accept only cash, I have yet to see one which accepts credit cards, although I know there are some that do accept them. I can't imagine the headache of dealing with stolen credit or debit cards by fraudsters happy to run off with illicitly obtained bitcoins.
2088  Economy / Exchanges / Re: WEX.nz on: June 10, 2019, 06:32:43 PM
Shouldn't these guys be held accountable for our losses then ? Has anybody tried to contact/complain ?

Some people are trying to go after them (https://wex-scam.com/news/, various Telegram channels, etc.), apparently the ex-CEO is now wanted in several countries, but good luck to anyone who lost anything there, chances are low to perpetrators will face justice, and even lower anyone will get anything back.

Jest jeszcze fork stylisha, stylus: https://github.com/openstyles/stylus Bez żadnego szpiegowania.

Jest też częściej aktualizowany, np. na Firefoxa ostatni update wyszedł prawie rok temu w przypadku stylish.
2090  Other / Meta / Re: If you're banned because of plagiarism, you can't create another account (?) on: June 09, 2019, 10:02:51 AM
Some users do get found out and then they get banned again for ban evasion. If they were dumb enough to plagiarize other users' posts, they're probably dumb enough to eventually get caught posting under a new account.
2091  Economy / Exchanges / Re: WEX.nz on: June 09, 2019, 03:04:08 AM
Had quite a few funds there - anything we can do to even make an attempt to recover them ? This sucks to lose out with no information at all.

The money is gone, and at least some of the people behind wex went on to start a new exchange:

2092  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hhampuz embezzling signature campaign funds from BestMixer on: June 08, 2019, 01:09:08 AM
I did not say that I wanted others to tag him as a scammer.
I do think he should be tagged

 Roll Eyes

It's also bit strange you'd want keep responding to this thread as it grows for almost two weeks now, even if it is clear that even people who are in no way associated with Hhampuz keep defending him, but leaving a negative rating is too futile an endeavour?

[..]
Przecież bitcoin nie powstał do mikrotransakcji. Powstał po to, by umożliwić ucieczkę przed rządami.(...)

2094  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins Cash-in-person trades removed? on: June 07, 2019, 11:25:03 PM
If you must pay by bank transfer, there's no privacy...
So better rates? I don't think so. The big exchanges are good at this.

So I guess everything will depend on the user's country, but I don't see much of a future for LBC in the EU.

Until cash trades were removed of course. Right now, there's no advantage. It's even worse than using an exchange where you go through KYC only once (ideally). On LBC whoever sends fiat money has to do some sort of KYC with every party they do business with, because the risk is too high someone uses a stolen/hijacked bank credentials to send money and disappears with BTC.
2095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: looking for a legit outlet that I can purchase Litecoins with Bitcoins on: June 07, 2019, 10:57:36 PM
Can you expound further with this? I didn't know we could exchange BTC for LTC through the lighting network right now. 🤔

You can now with https://fixedfloat.com/

No KYC, too, thus far.

Jest jeszcze https://darkreader.org/, wtyczka potrafi na bieżąco generować ciemniejsze strony, można też zmieniać jasność, kontrast, czcionkę, itp.
2097  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hhampuz embezzling signature campaign funds from BestMixer on: June 07, 2019, 06:48:46 PM
Further, lauda has made it clear that Hhampuz is not going to be labeled a scammer. Recent history has shown that those who oppose lauda end up getting excluded from DT and labeled a scammer, there are a number of recent examples of this.

There isn't enough evidence to label him a scammer. Tribalism is a different issue altogether and one of the reasons the Trust system sees continuous changes and improvements, perhaps with more to come in the future.
2098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin ATM's reliable? on: June 07, 2019, 05:18:48 PM
Fun, as always. Surprised the guard let someone film it, so it's probably just something normal.

Why would some guard have anything to say to that? It's a place accessible to the public.

What I'm most curious about is the commissions. For example, how much commission does it receive for a 1 BTC trade?

More you'll be willing to pay in most cases.

It's not unusual when buying to be charged up to 10%, even more sometimes. The average is often 6-7%

This site - https://coinatmradar.com finds ATMs and often list the costs too.
That's kinda high not to mention whether the transaction fee is included on that 6-7% or not but seeing from the perspective of the business owner, they need to pay rent for place, electricity and maintenance I guess that does make sense. But with the majority of people still have no idea or not using bitcoin this ATM seems a bit impractical and costly for maintenance I guess, I hope it will find more of its users by the time being.

In Poland, Bitcoin ATMs charge ~3% but there's no KYC (just the EU-mandated 15k EUR per transaction limit). In the UK, I think all Bitcoin ATMs now require KYC which is probably not only an extra expense, but it is also discouraging many people from using them.
2099  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins Cash-in-person trades removed? on: June 07, 2019, 03:27:01 PM
You've got to ask yourself why you should use LBC instead of a big exchange like Binance or Kraken...
I don't see any reason to choose LBC.

Privacy? To get better rates than on an exchange if you decide to post your own ads?
2100  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins Cash-in-person trades removed? on: June 07, 2019, 12:14:07 AM
It could be that in person cash trades are not very profitable. The cost and difficulty of mediating disputes for in person trades is probably much higher than online trades. All the scams involving in person cash trades doesn't do their reputation any good either.

I would say it's the other way around, online someone can easily send you money from a hacked bank/neteller/pp/etc. account, or claim they got 'hacked', chargeback, etc. With cash things are a lot simpler, count the money, release the coins, bye.

LBC themselves admitted they had to remove local cash ads due to not being able to remain compliant with new regulations: https://twitter.com/LocalBitcoins/status/1135872083962081281
