1501  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestions to Improve the India forum on: September 29, 2019, 04:26:38 AM
First of all an Indian needs to be a moderator. Then the language of the Local Board should be local which means that the language of the Indian Local Board should be Hindi. But The Indian local board is running in english language. If the language is English in local board then why would people come to post on the local board? They get everything in English everywhere. So I think language of local boards should be local so that people feel free to post anything in own native language.

English is no less important than Hindi in India countrywide, and on the Internet there are probably more English speakers from India than Hindi speakers. You can always post in the regional child-board.
1502  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yobit Scam Accusation megathread. "Normal" modus operandi or shady practices? on: September 29, 2019, 02:32:58 AM
The fact that they essentially incentivise pyramid-like activity on their platform with things like ROMs (Rise only markets) and their Investbox (which is essentially somewhat of a HYIP in itself) makes them shady at best.

This is not to mention the fact that their customer support has demonstrated time and time again that they are completely unreliable and will not help you out when you encounter any sort of issue with them. That is a fact given the absurd numbers of complaints you see on this forum on a regular basis.

Is it a normal business model for an exchange to encourage manipulation and even make a new type of market, and the IEOs, solely for manipulation? Definitely not. Is the Investbox a ponzi? I'd say so, and it'll eventually collapse sooner or later given the unsustainable rates they offer. But anecdotal evidence alone should be sufficient to accuse them of not being a legit exchange, at the very least, not a safe exchange.

Very interesting to see that after a post like this one you have still decided to wear a signature which will continue to support this shady exchange full of dishonest practices.

1503  Local / Polski / Re: [Konkurs] Wytypuj cenę BTC na koniec III kwartału 2019 on: September 29, 2019, 01:04:04 AM

1504  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Livecoin.net Scam on: September 29, 2019, 12:50:09 AM
Curious behavior of user suchmoon.

This person knows the Russian language perfectly, reads the Russian board, and initially knew that izooomrud was repulsed in all Russian topics in which he wrote his claims before he came here.

So what that he was 'repulsed' by Livecoin shills? And it's not even like Livecoin had unanimous support even on their linguistic turf from my brief perusing of one major topic there.

izooomrud came here because he got scammed and saw no other recourse, since he got at least a portion of his money back and was able to warn people about the practices of this wannabe-exchange, it turned out to be a wise idea.

I put my private key in the safest place of my computer

FYI if this computer is ever connected to the Internet, your private key isn't safe, and you're risking that someone may one day spend your bitcoins.
1506  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar2 on: September 28, 2019, 12:27:34 AM
I've sold tens of thousands of pounds' worth of crap on Ebay and have never had one single problem.

As a buyer I would've been ravaged many, many times if it were a free for all. Since it isn't I was alright.

I seem to recall some sort of escrow ish system with Openbazaar. Can anyone fill in its details?

Probably depends on what you sell. Maybe it's better nowadays, but I've met a fair amount of people who were scammed trying to sell ('item not delivered') more expensive items, from electronics to Casascius coins. I wonder if requiring signature is enough, or is there still a possibility eBay will side with the buyer.
1507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Doing This? on: September 27, 2019, 11:59:40 PM
If you're doxxable, I'd keep mum about any of such arrangements you may have with your family, otherwise you're painting a target on their backs (that goes for all topics asking users to divulge unnecessary information about themselves). Also, can you trust your family members to follow long, even if explicit instructions to manage/sell their newly acquired inheritance?
1508  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GetSpendl.com on: September 27, 2019, 11:56:54 PM
Even without LN I have no idea why isn't it better know.

I don't see him having started a thread on bitcointalk, so whoever learns of this service will google it first, with few positive and legit reviews, few people will be enticed to try it out, with all the scams out there it's not a surprise.
1509  Economy / Goods / Re: Condoms for sale. on: September 27, 2019, 09:25:38 PM
What sizes are they? How were they stored?

To peddle why do you have so many of them?

Fell off the back of a truck? Leftovers from a shutdown store?
1510  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GetSpendl.com on: September 27, 2019, 08:54:06 PM
It looks like it does the same thing as paywithmoon.com. IIRC, one of its co-founders had a dispute with his business partner how customer data should be treated, so maybe this is him restarting the business. I haven't used either site yet, if someone did, I'd like to hear if it worked fine.
1511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CipherTrace Scout App Takes Crypto Investigations Mobiile on: September 26, 2019, 09:30:29 PM
Street-level child pornography trades? Is that seriously a thing? I'd love to see the statistics behind these statements. Prostitutes and street drug dealers accepting bitcoins would actually be pretty cool.

Fear-mongering, like some media did with trying to associate Silk Road with child porn and murder services for hire.

A beat cop in a high crime area stumbling onto a bitcoin wallet or master pubkey? How likely is that? Roll Eyes

Probably low, that's just their marketing.
1512  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fiat-to-crypto: is it safe? on: September 26, 2019, 08:11:04 PM
For getting fiat without KYC, better to ask people there fiat/btc exchange, for example skrill, paypal and etc, you will find someone with whom you'll negotiate.

That's even worse than using an exchange.

You still need to go through KYC to use these services.

And chargeback fraud becomes an issue to watch out for.
1513  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar2 on: September 26, 2019, 05:14:54 AM
I tried using it a couple times but never found any good deals, or anything that I needed at the time, so I never bought anything there. Inconvenience is the least of all problems to me.
1514  Economy / Exchanges / Re: URGENT: MTGOX creditors need assistance - Looking for Russian Speakers on: September 26, 2019, 02:23:07 AM
There is strong suspicion it may be a play to get Vinnik extradited to Russia, based on creditor's damages files with Greece.

Like a missing piece of a puzzle, other than a potential money grab or a scam, this one could be the reason why this proposal/firm is still being shilled for more than a day or two since their first announcement.
1515  Local / Polski / Re: Signature campaing - regularnie płatne pewniaki on: September 25, 2019, 08:06:09 PM

15, a maks. 25 postów/tydzień. Czyli efektywna stawka może być 40% niższa Smiley
1516  Other / Meta / Re: It's quite time for some cooperation or moderation toward signature campaigns. on: September 25, 2019, 12:52:45 AM
Isn't it better to just hire more people? Enforcing minimum weekly post counts probably has a negative effect on post quality if people know they *have* to post enough or they'll be kicked out of the campaign.

If there's concern about transaction fees (especially if fees increase), people could always create accounts on whatever service they advertise and get paid there.
1517  Economy / Economics / Re: The Latest Crypto Price Dip Is Fueled By Fake News Relating to Quantum Computers on: September 24, 2019, 08:55:09 PM
The piece of news from google was a couple days ago, there's no connection between that and todays 'dip'. The price was going sideways for too long, expectations for Bakkt were too high, and we're seeing a large decrease in price following weeks of stability. We might go back to ~$10k but it may 'dip' again.
Giełdy mają osobne order booki (zlecenia oczekujące) i inne transakcje przychodzące. Ceny więc są różne. To normalne.

https://bravenewcoin.com/insights/alphapoint-provides-liquidity-to-bitcoin-exchanges

1520  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-23] Bitcoin Miners Are Heating Homes Free of Charge in Frigid Siberia on: September 24, 2019, 09:56:46 AM
Good that Lukashenko remained in power during all these years. Else they would have ended up like Ukraine or Moldova, losing 20% of the population and civilians starving without proper food or heating. I am not very fond of dictators, but Belarusians don't have any other option when the alternatives are far worse. See what the Ukrainian politicians have done to their people. Authoritarian regimes within the former USSR (such as those in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan.etc) seems to have fared much better when compared to the "democratic" governments (Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia.etc). I heard that during the Donbass war, large number of Ukrainians came as refugees to Belarus, ready to work as farm labourers for $100 per month.

Democratic countries like Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have been doing very well, Ukraine is screwed due to how closely integrated they were with Russia as a Soviet republic and the ties remained incestuously close after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

I don't know what kind of people in Ukraine would be willing to go and work abroad for $100 when they can easily find work as unskilled construction laborers or factory workers for $500 month with free accommodation in Poland.
