1541  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to avoid getting blocked on neteller/paypal/skrill/etc? on: September 20, 2019, 11:58:48 PM
It's possible these services are exchanging information about their users, maybe with any of the custodial cryptocurrency services asking for KYC.

Don't act like a red alarm, be quiet just like regular user. Personally I have never had problem with skrill: https://www.skrill.com/transfer-money/skrill-cryptocurrency/

Don't they prevent you from withdrawing your coins if you buy or deposit it with them?

W lipcu niecałe 60 osób aplikowało, a teraz we wrześniu ponad 90 osób.

Thanks for answering.

From a privacy perspective it'd still be nice if the user could choose to delete at least some of the information stored related to their account after some amount of time has passed.
1544  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-23] Bitcoin Miners Are Heating Homes Free of Charge in Frigid Siberia on: September 20, 2019, 10:22:31 PM
you mean the opposite; Belarusian government has barely changed for something like 40 or 50 years. That's stability, not instability

It's been ruled by Lukashenko for the past 25 years. I'd use a different word, 'unpredictable', the country is a dictatorship and you never know what 'smart' idea they (Lukashenko) will come up with, such as their recent parasite tax on the unemployed.

I heard that the Lukashenko regime is the last remnant of the former USSR. Also came to know that Belarus is the last country in the European continent, that still has the death penalty. But the people seems to be doing not too bad, at least when compared to the neighboring regions of Russia and Ukraine. After the collapse of the USSR, there was no large-scale demographic loss and unemployment remains low.

And the most important thing is that Belarus seems to be the most cryptocurrency friendly country out of the ex-USSR nations.

They're doing better than Ukraine, but worse than Russia. Compared to Russia they seem to be cryptocurrency-friendly, true.

This is crazy innovative stuff from the Serbians,

Wouldn't be surprised to see such a thing being implemented in more European countries, maybe even China, if anyone is knowledgeable enough, they could save quite a lot of money from this.

It's about Siberia (Asian part of Russia, not Serbia).

I read the article and did not find a single word there about the volume of the working device. In my opinion, the project is weak because it is designed for one region. At night it is very cold and complete silence, and if it works loudly how to sleep?

Check his website, it shows the dimensions of his miners. If it's in a different room it'll be like white noise if you get used to it. Some of his miners also use passive cooling.
1545  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: September 20, 2019, 09:08:39 PM
The answer to your two questions is here, in the full ToS:

https://www.bustabit.com/tos

Quote
For this purpose, an account's last access time is the time that the user last signed in to the account or connected to the service while already signed in.

'Assumed by the operator' means the owner of the site keeps the funds, I think.

You have to accept the ToS on both sites, but I can't find it linked anywhere on bustabit.

1546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet..Paypal..No Bank Account on: September 20, 2019, 08:41:11 PM
are you a criminal? because who doesn't have a real world bank account is because he has some serious problem with justice or with government and is prevented from having bank account. but I will not go into too much detail, I will follow this thread because I am very curious to know how it is possible for someone to have a solution to your dilemma " Wallet..Paypal..No Bank Account "

Or he might be from a 3rd world country where banking for an average or poorer person is not as accessible as in the West. Looking at his posts it's probably a combination gambling if it's not entirely legal where he lives + alimony (?).

OP, your means of exchanging bitcoins for fiat money are dependent on where you live. Simplest way is to find a Bitcoin ATM but that's not the cheapest way of selling bitcoins, usually 2-5% on the low end, or up to 5-12% in some countries.
1547  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: September 20, 2019, 08:27:13 PM
I've noticed that bustabit and bustadice now have Terms of Service, and I also have noticed it includes some controversial clauses, so I have some questions:

1. "Users for which using the service is not legal in their applicable jurisdiction(s) are prohibited from using the service."

"To ensure that no prohibited users are using the service, the operator may demand proof of age, citizenship and residence of any user at his own discretion. If the user does not provide adequate proof at the operator's request they may be barred from further using the service."

How will you react to foreign governments requesting information about users accessing your website from foreign IP addresses?
Are you planning on using any 3rd party companies for KYCing of your users?
How long do you store user logs (IP addresses, user agents, deposit and withdrawal information) and private information used to confirm age/citizenship/residence? Can a user request the deletion of their data earlier?
Is it actually illegal to gamble and invest bitcoins in casino bankroll in the prohibited countries ("Aruba, Australia, Curaçao, France, Netherlands, Sint Maarten, United States of America")?

2. "The operator may permanently delete accounts that have not been accessed for two years and may make usernames of deleted accounts available for use with new accounts again."
[...]
"All funds of deleted dormant accounts including their balance and any bankroll investments are forfeited by the user and assumed by the operator."

Two years is a bit short, I've left some funds for this long in the past elsewhere without logging in for a similar period of time at least once (not that it's a smart thing to do but still).

Kto by z tego korzystał?

1550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I want to start a business in gambling, which country do I choose? on: September 20, 2019, 05:34:06 PM
I would also recommend Philippines because they have are very open to accepting offshore gambling business with their POGO.
The Philippines needs money to improve their country so as long as an applicant will be able to qualified with the requirements, they can operate without a problem in the Philippines, currently it's the chinese gambling operators who are dominating the POGO, it's good to see other race to start their business as well.

I have search for the rules and regulation, you can check and verify this if it's really coming from PAGCOR who are regulating POGO.
http://www.pagcor.ph/regulatory/pdf/offshore/Offshore-Rules-and-Regulation.pdf

About the requirements, from your link, section 4b.2 and 4e:

KYC would have to be mandatory, to ensure players aren't Filipinos or aren't playing from the Philippines, or aren't under 21, and that players aren't from countries which prohibit its people from gambling online.

Also, tons of fees and taxes too which don't seem to be low to me, seems pricey compared to the Curacao gambling license.
1551  Economy / Reputation / Re: Roger Ver why is he red trusted? on: September 20, 2019, 04:51:39 AM
The original owner had been involved in Bitcoin since 2009, and agrees that Bitcoin Cash is the version of Bitcoin he got involved in.
Unfortunately he needed money for other things, and the new owner of the ID clearly has a different opinion.

Since the deal didn't go through, can you share how much the original owner demanded for the account?

1552  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do I do with my bitcoins ? on: September 20, 2019, 02:12:08 AM
I am in mid 20's and holding and accumulating as much BTC as I can. I try to save a small amount of bitcoins every month so that I can do something with it when I retire.
But what if something unfortunate happens to me. What should I do 'now' so that the coins can be used for a good purpose in the future by the right person.
I know I can hide the instructions to the private key for somebody to take it in the future. But my question is whom should I give it to ?

I do not want to give it to my relatives or children since I want them to earn on their own and never depend on others money.
I know I can donate it to charity but what's the guarantee that the money will be gone into good hands and will be used for the right purpose ?

Are there any options that you guys think of ? Have you guys thought about such a scenario ?

Figure out where you'd like your money to go to. Maybe have a read: https://www.effectivealtruism.org/articles/introduction-to-effective-altruism/

Once you have decided, if you can't trust your family or friends, find a good lawyer and arrange for a dead man's switch to be set up which will ensure the money is spent according to your will.
1553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CipherTrace Enters Race to Solve Crypto's FATF Compliance Headache on: September 19, 2019, 10:41:42 PM
It sure is. I won't lie, this is probably going to end with lots of disgruntled exchange customers, frozen money, closed accounts, unexpected law enforcement investigations, etc. I've always been extremely careful to ensure that anything touching my Coinbase account is unimpeachable. Unfortunately with the way things are headed, we'll need to employ that sort of caution to most services -- maybe even lower tier exchanges registered in random island nations. You just never know.

So people are going to self-police themselves even without legal pressure? Undecided

I am almost positive Ciphertrace's technology can still trace movements of transactions even after they've gone through a mixer

I am not. It most likely depends on the mixer used and on each individual case.
1554  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Going to my first meetup on: September 19, 2019, 10:28:16 PM
where do people find ads for meetups? is there a board/website dedicated to this? the bitcointalk meetup board seems pretty dead.

Meetup.com if you live in any mid-to-large city, or facebook, if you have an account there it might pop up into your suggestions somewhere if fb knows enough about you. Although it must be noted that at this point most meetups you're likely to find aren't going to be exclusively about Bitcoin, often it's about 'blockchain', or cryptocurrencies/tokens in general.

to clarify, this was only okex korea, their south korean exchange. okex reps have confirmed their other platforms will continue to list privacy coins, so it's perplexing why they are citing the FATF travel rule as the reason.

this could be a sign that south korea is on the verge of implementing the travel rule. if other korean exchanges follow suit, it'll be a clear sign.

Must be some internal South Korean regulation then, or other way of exerting pressure.  If other South Korean exchanges follow, it won't be the end of the world, but if other major exchanges around the world start adopting this rule to the letter, I'd start worrying.
1557  Other / Meta / Re: My 100 days on Bitcointalk on: September 18, 2019, 07:54:28 PM
Some of them seem to be zero post accounts. I guess that makes it a worthless stat or is it just broken for them?

Most of them have 0 posts and some are (proxy)banned. I suspect they have accounts just to scrape the forum, or some sections.

165 days of total time logged in after well over 8 years, if anyone's interested. I rarely keep more than one session active in a given moment.
1558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antiviruses on: September 17, 2019, 01:06:15 PM
I do not understand how the virus can broke 2-factor protection if it is constantly changing very fast.

It doesn't 'break' it, to get 2FA you first have to input a code into your 2FA app, if the virus snoops it when you first configure you 2FA it won't help you that it changes every few seconds. If whatever device the 2FA app is installed on is compromised then you're not safe either.
1559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antiviruses on: September 16, 2019, 11:14:35 PM
I also tried all of them, and my computer was infected with each of these Antivirus programs installed. To protect yourself from Trojans and hackers, you should use a complex password (really complex!) and two-factor authentication during registration. A good antivirus will not hurt, but this stuff will not protect you for 100%. Therefore, you should not keep all the savings on the exchange - it is not safe.

2FA won't help you if your malware-infected computer sees the TOTP key when you first activate 2FA on your cryptocurrency exchange account, same with complex passwords. Minimize your attack surface and think before you click something, too.
