Can confirm, doesn't work, doesn't work over Tor with different circuits, doesn't work over VPN. IP addresses from multiple European countries and the US. https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/ doesn't show anything. How long has it been down for others?

edit: both sites work now
1422  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion/Discussion: Create different levels of DefaultTrust on: October 14, 2019, 03:30:33 AM
No feedback/trust system is perfect and I doubt theymos will be able to come up with one that is going to be universally loved.

Perfect is the enemy of good. Before the warnings were added to topics made by scammers, I used to receive a lot more PMs from Newbies and 0-post users complaining how they were scammed.
1423  Economy / Reputation / Re: List of banned participants in the Cryptotalk Campaign on: October 14, 2019, 02:33:27 AM
but he may be can suggest new requirements or adjustment in campaign rules. Recently, Yahoo said that there may be a min merit requirement for participants.

That is what I meant, I'm sure Yobit would take his feedback into consideration. A minimum merit requirement could also work, having users maintain an average of 0.1 merits per post averaged over the last 30-60 days would do wonders for the quality of their posts.

1424  Economy / Reputation / Re: List of banned participants in the Cryptotalk Campaign on: October 13, 2019, 09:32:13 PM
I am also getting reports about users replying in threads that have not been replied in for 1 month+. That's not a good idea either. Yes, you might earn .001btc for the day, but once I nail you for necrobumping you won't earn another penny. I cannot stress this enough, you also need to consider the fact that users are reporting you to moderators as well. Use your brains people and wake up. You're not going to post 20 posts everyday and last long on this forum while wearing a signature.

Have you thought about lowering the max limit for paid posts? Maybe 50-100 posts/week? I'm still seeing a lot of low quality posts from cryptotalk signature participants, it'll be a while until account farmers cycle through their Sr./Hero/Legendary accounts.
1425  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nexo - "Earn 8% dividend a year with no risks" on: October 13, 2019, 08:17:09 PM
8% ? thats very low .

if you have 1 Bitcoin , you can make 8% interest per month trading on LBC .

Given the risks involved in anything related to cryptocurrencies, 8% is sure low, but I wouldn't compare it with LBC, either you do in-person deals which is a time commitment, or you deal with online fiat transfers and accept all the risk that that entails (chargebacks, fraud, etc.).
1426  Other / Meta / Re: Staff Dabs abusing merit? on: October 12, 2019, 08:34:21 PM
This selectivity of the rules confuses me. About 100% of all my incoming PMs are unsolicited by me. I perceive each of them to one degree or another, depending on the content, as an invasion of my personal space. I thought the rules of the forum protect me from this, but it turned out that this is not so. I would like to know better in what cases I should report to the administrator, and in which not to do. Please tell how you solve such collisions, so that I can take an example from your strategy as a guide. Thanks.

Feel free to report unsolicited PMs if they annoy you, the more people report someone, the higher the likelihood that something will be done about them sending unsolicited messages. You can also add them to your ignorelist in 'Personal Message Options' in your profile settings.
1427  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalBitcoins and Tier verification's on: October 12, 2019, 08:25:02 PM
If you aren't obfuscating any details, you're risking closure of both your accounts, I think I'd keep this to myself.
1428  Other / Meta / Re: Staff Dabs abusing merit? on: October 12, 2019, 01:11:03 PM
Got it. Any news? I would like to know how this story will end, because regardless of the content of the PM, the fact of its mass sending to the list of recipients who did not request it is a violation of the forum rules. The severity of punishment depends on the content of the PM. I hope you consider the issue and make a fair decision. Thanks.

I haven't seen the message and it is not up to me to decide. At least one user has reported the PM, so all Global Moderators and Administrators should have seen it by now — if the admins didn't act on the report then I can only assume Dabs didn't break any rules. (or they may have well acted on it but aren't sharing any info.) There's nothing more for me to add here, really.
1429  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to bypass KYC methods? on: October 12, 2019, 02:38:00 AM
They are pretty easy to catch out and if the service communicates with your bank

Bank secrecy laws should prevent that.

I mean, isn't it usual that KYC is always associated with any money transactions much especially to fiat transactions involving banks?

Legacy banking institutions are usually laxer on KYC compared with some cryptocurrency services.

Of course, it makes absolutely zero sense to try to pass fake info or dox if you want to send or withdraw fiat money to your bank account registered in your name.
1430  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BITSTAMP frozen my 10 btc and asking years worth of signed address transactions on: October 12, 2019, 02:32:48 AM
No one can be 100% trustworthy. I have seen vendors in Localbitcoins selling their old accounts to scammers and the latter using them to con unsuspecting users. EVen I had a few bad experiences with LBC, and my coins were returned only after I contacted the LBC admins. If you are talking about face-to-face transactions, then they are not only risky, but unsafe as well.

Yes, in-person = face-to-face. Never had a problem, know your surroundings, learn how to spot fakes, and if you live somewhere where violent crime is a concern be armed or bring an armed friend. I'd be more wary of receiving a bank transfer from a hijacked bank account and having my money frozen after releasing bitcoins to the fraudster.
1431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can more ATM's increase adoption for Bitcoin? on: October 12, 2019, 12:52:33 AM
I have used a number of BTMs in the USA, including fairly recently.  I have noticed that ALL the machines I have looked at very recently now ALL demand at least a cell number (SMS text message) and inputting a name, even for low amounts of BTC/$.

Can't you use an email address or a prepaid SIM card since those don't require personal information?

Last time I was in the UK I found some machines in London that did not ask for ID or cell phone numbers.  Comments from European residents would be nice, as then we could then know if the era of buying BTC anonymously via BTMs is now over...

Some have KYC here, some don't. In Poland none do, there's just a per transaction limit close to the legal limit of 15k EUR.
1432  Other / Meta / Re: Request on: October 12, 2019, 12:37:50 AM
Hello,
always being inquiring about bitcointalk for investment in cryptocurrency and project ect, I would like to ask the administrator of the site to make a topic pin that would be updated regularly.
ex - topic platform of trading to avoid, or yet the various altcoin to avoid, I mean by the for the altcoin [...]

Theymos doesn't really get involved these days, to help people avoid scams he created a reputation system called 'Trust', read more about it in this section, and there are boards dedicated to scam accusations and reputation. The ecosystem is too huge for admins or moderators of a large forum like bitcointalk to give their official blessings or condemnations of cryptocurrency services or altcoins themselves (it's 'bitcointalk.org' after all, not 'altcointalk.org').
1433  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚽️ Match365 | 💰150BTC inviting bonus 💰 | Well designed Soccer Betting App on: October 12, 2019, 12:13:53 AM
Yeah, I also think so. No way someone is going to give 150btc
Question is if they even have 150btc  or 1,500,000 USD like it is shown (that is even worse atm)

They could sign a message with a private key associated with an address holding 150 BTC. It says '10 BTC per day' in the OP, so it looks like they're claiming to have enough money.
1434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Desktop wallet: any risk of hardware backdoor? on: October 11, 2019, 11:13:02 PM
Not every Intel... you should be safe if you use a Core2Duo, but only if you Libreboot it, which means you will need to do hardware changes unless you buy one that is directly modified by someone you can trust. There are some Laptops like the Thinkpad x60 which only require you to flash the bios and do some changes without modifying the hardware.

If you want it to be ME free by default, you have to go as back as Pentium 4...

With AMD, you have PSP, so it's the same, and you can't disable it, we know less about the PSP than the ME. You would need to back in time too, I think 2013 was the last year it was PSP free. Still faster than a Raspberry.

There are some workarounds against IME, and Purism and System76 sell laptops with the IME disabled. They all have Intel laptops, though, not sure how things look with AMD.
1435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: The most secure wallet without downloading blockchain on: October 11, 2019, 10:58:43 PM
I have never had of both of these before. If they are extremely secure then I am wondering why they are not so popular or mostly talked about here.
Are the wallets still new in the game?

If it's the case they i would rather stick to the popular ones that have been around for a couple of years.

I have. The first is basicaly a 78-page PDF guide: https://glacierprotocol.org/assets/glacier.pdf with some scripts. It's fine and it's not a new thing, but I don't recommend it to newbies, as the entire instructions are overly long and drawn out for newbies. But they themselves claim it's for those holding bigger amounts of money, so it's less of a problem.

Coldcard wallet also isn't an unknown piece of hardware, even if it's nowhere near as known as Trezor or Ledger wallets.
1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: The most secure wallet without downloading blockchain on: October 11, 2019, 08:37:23 PM
The most secure is to setup you orwn private key, sign the transaction offline, and move the coins by broadcastin the transaction from a usb

No, the most secure setup is do more or less what you suggested, but transfer the unsigned and signed transactions via QR codes and webcams, ie. take no risk with an airgapped machine.
1437  Local / Polski / Re: Signature campaing - regularnie płatne pewniaki on: October 11, 2019, 08:19:29 PM

what

crime

Katie Haun

It's in the article, it seems she wised up. But it also says she prosecuted people for 'money laundering', and that can mean a lot.

She wasn't the first person who wanted to go after Bitcoin, a year earlier two US senators tried to do the same thing around the time Gawker published an article about SR:

Może nie chce bawić się w wyczuwanie rynku i jest to dla niego inwestycja długoterminowa. Niejeden trader BTC zarobił w USD, ale zarobiłby więcej gdyby tylko trzymał i nic nie robił...
