2081  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why everybody is panicking ? Its a game of greed and fear ! on: December 04, 2022, 10:54:23 AM
~snipped~
as there will always be people which invested too much money, which need to sell due to some emergency or simply they are afraid the price could crash even further
This is why anybody in this industry who've had a little understanding of how it works through an experience of a complete Bitcoin circle will tell you it's not a wise thing to invest with cash you will miss. The simple logic there is to just invest the cash and move on like you never invested anything at all. Bury the money and wait patiently for the harvest season. To many, that's a hard thing to do because they want to see their investments grow daily. That isn't how investment works (at least, not so in this industry).
2082  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I got scammed out of 100000 dollars by fake 0 dollars withdrawal on BSC on: December 04, 2022, 09:17:17 AM
Some people do not compare every symbol of address and watch for example only last 4 symbols and can send funds to scammer's address.
That's simply because people are often in a hurry while at it, during transactions. It's good to suspend everything one is doing during transaction. That's what I do. I'm never in a haste because I know once a mistake happens it's goodbye to my funds. I do take my time to check the first four/five letters of any copied wallet address I'm sending or withdrawing to. I do same for the middle and last four/five letters too. That's if the funds involved aren't much. If I'm doing a heavy transfer, I take my time to run a complete check from the first letter to the last before hitting the send or withdrawal tab. I'm conservative like that and I haven't regretted any bit of being conservative.
2083  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake coingecko site please beware! on: December 04, 2022, 05:50:50 AM
Fake site link here
https:// couingecko.click/connect/

Please do note feel too familiar with the sites you often visit because it's the easiest way to hack into you since they knows you often visit the site and you won't care to check it out before hitting the enter key.
You did well by alerting this forum of that. Anyone visiting for the first time who isn't careful will easily get deceived. This is why I always insist on getting direct links from whoever that's asking me to check up any site. I don't just listen to them dictating it without writing the words out. After that I make sure to bookmark or save it on homepage if it's a site I'm likely going to revisit. In this crypto industry, don't leave anything to chances.

I'm not a very passionate user of Coingecko (as well as CMC) and I still use them exclusively to see the current price of a coin and possibly its market.
It used to be Blockfolio for me before the SBF dude bought it and changed its name to FTX and then messed the whole thing up. What a shame.

what kind of services do they offer if they are so interested in phishing?
in what way is abuse possible here besides collecting email addresses?
But of course, the phishing would be to steal wallet information and then hack it.
2084  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why everybody is panicking ? Its a game of greed and fear ! on: December 04, 2022, 04:49:36 AM
OP, your words are apt. You captured the scenario very well but you should also expect that what's happening is a true reflection of the diversity of man's thoughts. We all can't reason the same way on the same issues. If everyone knows and does the same thing it should be boring. Homogeneity kills interest. Those who panic once price begins to dip are meant to be there so that those who have diamond hands can pick the panic sales up. Anyone who has experienced a Bitcoin cycle should know that whatever that's happening now in the market is the normal phase. Nothing to worry about. It should be the accumulation phase. Buy cheap now and hodl. Next halving is going to be a blast.
2085  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long do you think the market will take to recover? on: December 04, 2022, 04:20:31 AM
there is a small recovery happens this december as bitcoin finally broken 17k again and looking at it now? seems that there is a chance to remain this position or at least going more up for this month and the end of the year?
Yes, Bitcoin recovered to $17k but it's not looking convincing to keep at it. It will slump. Already investors have started point at the $13k region. Honestly, it feels kind of disappointed that Bitcoin didn't do well in November which was the month I speculated it would show some strength. December hasn't been any good as it's the month most investors take profit for spending during the yuletide season. We aren't likely to see a different scenario this year. Talking about ATH? Nah! No one is even expecting Bitcoin to get to its previous ATH of $68k next year. We wait till 2024.
2086  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let's understand about what can be the actual long term holding... on: December 03, 2022, 10:26:30 PM
To enjoy the real benefits of bitcoin investments, you must plan up for covering 3 to 5 cycles of bitcoin markets. Waiting period of more than 10 years may sound unrealistic to many people but I like to suggest them to google to know about the real power of decade long holding of famous stocks.
You must be Satoshi himself to try that. We're looking at 12 to 20 years for a 3-5 Bitcoin cycle here with the awareness that a cycle is four years (rightly so when we consider its halving period). For me, a long term hodl is two years. That's hodl stoically for two years without touching my stack. The two years will be from two years post-halving to the present halving year. For instance, at hand is the period I'm referring to. Buying now to sell off in 2024. Then repeat the process in 2026.
2087  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Two important lesson I learn from this forum this year 2022 on: December 03, 2022, 11:28:31 AM
The biggest problem is that we have introduced third parties and Centralization over an ecosystem that requires no trust and no third parties to function.
In fact I believe it is not a bad thing to build centralized services on top of a decentralized system and they actually provide some benefits too. For example the payment processors give merchants the option to receive bitcoin and convert it to fiat very easily and vice versa. Or centralized/custodial wallets (even government controlled wallets like Chivo) allow absolute newbies with no technical understanding to still use bitcoin.

P.S. I myself started my journey from a web wallet...
Centralization isn't the problem per se. It's the criminals who run those shit that have made it look that way. If anything, centralization even opened cryptocurrencies to the world rapidly. Many people would've been locked out of knowing how and where to buy from. I dabbled into cryptos with a huge puzzle of what it was dangling over my head at the time. Creating a wallet or opening an exchange account wasn't even as easy as they seem today. I wonder what it would've been like five years before I did. Today, many people think it's as easy as ABC. Talking about Cexs, no matter what, we've to acknowledge the good it has done us. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the warning should be "investors shouldn't leave their cryptos on exchanges while traders should find a way of not leaving much there." To face reality, there's no way we tell traders not to leave funds on exchanges and it turns out fine. Except they aren't traders in the real sense of it.
2088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Create Taproot address for your Bitcoin on: December 01, 2022, 03:52:17 PM
- So why did I blur in some images? I want to make a good practice but forgot to blur in one or two images which were spotted by some members. Because I think if we don't care about blurring image with example, maybe we will have bad habit to be careless when we share wallets which we actually use for our bitcoins.
Ok, I think I've an idea what you intended to achieve by blurring addresses and that's to alert users that they don't have to expose their addresses. However, I don't that should be any problem with public addresses since it's the medium for receiving transactions. I don't think anyone loses anything by exposing that or do they? That's not like Pkeys or Passphrases.

2090  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Talk on Telegram on: November 29, 2022, 10:53:33 PM
Apart from causing distraction to those who are going to subscribe to the telegram channel, it will end up as a mere gossip channel. It won't have the strength of character of teaching and learning that BTT is endowed with. That's if the telegram channel doesn't even end up as an avenue for account sales and merit trading. Again, if you want something that can compete favourably with this forum, it won't be to set up mere telegram channels. Run enticing bounties and signature campaigns and you will see how things take a sharp turn.

Dear Fillippone you really convinced me, I think I will join the telegram group.  Thank you.
Oh, really? I guess you had the wrong quote inserted.
2091  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do when trading gives you heart problem. on: November 29, 2022, 09:28:45 PM
OP, if I got your drift well you meant anxiety during trading and not that it's real heart problem. Anyway, anytime you begin to get worked up or needlessly anxious during trading it simply means you're exposing your account more than you should. That's against the ethics of crypto trading which suffices that, "don't risk more than you can afford to lose." Other than that, trading is an enjoyable profession. It doesn't cause any heart issues, though I must add that it's not for the faint hearted.
2092  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10K BTC Linked to Mt.Gox Moved! on: November 29, 2022, 08:15:21 PM
i believe that keeping your coin when the market is on bullish is the best method of investment,
The line that I bolded above made me confused.
Because usually when I see that my profit was there when there's a bull trend market, I cut it off so that I already have my profit and the rest just keep it again for an investment for a long period of time.
sheenshane, you're right. Profit in the pocket is better than one on the screen. There's even a safer way to play in this market and I'm sure those who've kept it that way haven't had any regrets. One shouldn't allow greed overshadow one once it comes to taking profit. At every point, it's better to half the risk by taking half of one's profit off the table and allow the rest run with a stop loss. Otherwise, the profit may return to loss. It's better half a profit in one's pocket than expected full and bloated elusive profit.
2093  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible to get bitcoins for free? on: November 29, 2022, 07:15:40 PM
Whichever way you look at it, nothing is ever for "Free" in the real sense of it. Even in the past when a lot of people thought Bitcoin was given for free through airdrops or faucets, there was something those who gave it out benefited by doing that. Most of them needed their sites to be pushed out in form of publicity. In essence, something was exchanged for something. Your data and time for Bitcoin because some of them needed minor tasks done before releasing the Bitcoin.
2094  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Missing Board (s) on: November 29, 2022, 06:30:55 PM
OP, besides the point that you could be having some boards under ignore and that's a possible reason you've less boards displayed than your uncle's; Let me quickly add that you need to do all you can to differentiate whatever wallet address(es) you want to use here from your uncle's so as to avoid anyone alleging that it's an alt account in future.
2095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching Bitcoin To My Friends| You're invited too (Online class) part 2 on: November 29, 2022, 05:20:39 PM
I like it when members here take out time to teach Bitcoin outside this forum. It's best to go virtual if there's a barrier of distance. That's the part I like because it's easier for both the teacher and student(s). If they complain of data, send them data. However, let me quickly add here for OP. Don't be discouraged if after teaching them you discover that not all of them will continue with it. There will be those among them who will have the wrong notion of how Bitcoin should take them out of poverty level immediately they come in contact with it. Once you let them into the truth that it's not a get rich quick scheme, some will develop that lukewarm attitude and will eventually lose interest. Just know this and know peace.
2096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin survive the apocalyse? on: November 29, 2022, 02:00:21 PM
Personally I'm not worried, because if it gets that bad, money probably won't matter. Food, water & shelter will be more valuable.
Apocalypse is cataclysmic. If we do ever get to that point, nobody will be in the right frame of mind to think what happens to the next person or their investments. It's going to be chaotic. Bitcoin or whatever won't even matter then because all man will think of will be strictly survival. It's like the end of the world. Let's just enjoy the Bitcoin moment now and forget about how it's going to be like in man's troubled times.
2097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or altcoin? on: November 29, 2022, 11:28:53 AM
Let's be clear on this first. If we're talking of doing the investment at a time like now with the bear season in place, I will advise that the cash be invested in Bitcoin. But if it's during a bull season I will advise that it be put in altcoins with utility. Bitcoin has a very strong and dedicated community, if not the strongest of all cryptos. The strength of its community has helped to demystified every FUD and negative press against Bitcoin. In terms of ROI, alts give better than Bitcoin. However, Bitcoin has a better surviving and long lasting rate than others.

Most of these hack was as a result of clicking on any site without applying caution, I don't clicked to any link  shared with me or send to me left alone to connect my with wallet with any swap or exchange. As member in this forum him or she should be wise enough to avoid being hacked.
The annoying part is that some of these supposed victims are already members of this educative crypto and awareness sermonizing forum, yet they allow shit happen to them. It baffles me when people throw caution to the wind once they hear or read that there's a giveaway or freebies going on. You dare connect your wallet to a site because you heard there's an airdrop going on or a mining blablabla... Then be ready to bear the cost of hacks and theft.
2099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Create Taproot address for your Bitcoin on: November 29, 2022, 08:37:16 AM
OP, I know almost everyone is all about privacy but I do think you could've chosen to use fresh wallet addresses or newly installed wallets for your exposition in instances where you needed to blur the addresses like in a few examples you made. By the way, it's there any reason for blurring them while some were left open?
2100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Careful where you connect your wallet on: November 28, 2022, 09:42:47 PM

The best decision in a situation like that when you think your wallet has been compromised is to get a new one. It costs next to nothing to install a new one.

You create your post today and your transaction history showing about 251 days ago and you coming up to cook a story today and your btt account created July 22, 2022?
Most of these sob stories flying around here about how they lost money is just cooked up cock and bull stories. For whatever reasons those who present them here do, I can't figure it out. Perhaps it's to gain sympathy of the community and their merit.
