2101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +85933 units on: March 26, 2023, 03:03:33 PM
That didn't go nearly as close as I imagined, but today I wonder if Iceland might be a bit of an overestimation

Liechtenstein isn't a team to tear up the manual but I feel they have it in them to win 1 in 10 games, not 30, against Iceland? Their only recent good result was a 1-1 draw against Armenia so I'm probably throwing money away but:

100 units at Fairlay on Liechtenstein to WIN vs Iceland @31.00. Other odds: 27.40
Units advantage: 360

Running advantage after 39 bets: +3940 (+360)
All-time cumulative: +87,194
Running units after 38 bets (7W|31L): +3146 (-100)

Azerbaijan could not do anything against Austria  Sad No more national team bets? It seems to me that a bet on Kazakhstan against Austria with odds of 14.50 may be promising.

I missed that one actually, I agree, that was a value bet... Kazakhstan was also 14/1 when they were behind in today's match vs Denmark at HT. Too bad I didn't take that opportunity up Wink I tell you, these Asian/Caucascus teams aren't TOO bad...

It's nice to see you coming back with your famous thread. I hope you will continue to make big profits  Smiley Did you take a "boost" from Sportsbet to get those odds?
Which odds comparator are you using btw because Odds Portal gives me 13.39 for Azerbaijan (but I guess it's the odds of the last minute before the game had started) https://www.oddsportal.com/football/europe/euro-2024/austria-azerbaijan-ANTUoJoi

Thank you, and I appreciate when you guys come in. I always intended to give this section of the forum a thread that gives trackable results on a particular strategy. Don't you hate that most tip threads cherry pick results, and don't even give an actual performance on bankroll? I do wish I had the energy to do this daily as I did before but still, to have 5 consecutive seasons of performance, chronological and on bankroll, it is enough of a sample to say this strat works for me Smiley

I used to just use oddschecker (but beware they use promo odds, which is only applicable to first bets, at low max wager), but I find that for crypto sportsbetting, it's enough to check Pinnacle odds, and then check on the main books -- at the moment, Sportsbet with the boost (which is where I took 27.40 odds on the bet above, boosted from 25/1), Fairlay is competitive on longshots and early markets, FortuneJack, Stake, Nitro are Pinnacle derived too, so aren't really useful to compare UNLESS you use promotions, which I make note off when I bet (FJ and Stake have seasonal cashback which give incredible value).

Obviously odds shift over time so I only publish odds at the time I post/bet. I find early markets are pretty awesome value, but that can change with sudden injuries or form over 2 or 3 weeks so... it is a gamble. But I also use historical odds. e.g. If team A has an early market (3/4 weeks away from actual match) and has lost 3-4 games in a row, books give them shit probability, but I love that as odds only get worse as they win games coming up to the market.
2102  Economy / Speculation / Re: 23 March 2023: SEC issues official warning to crypto investors on: March 26, 2023, 12:44:02 PM
They might be better off putting that warning at the next Superbowl, really. Or on any crypto ad airing then or anywhere else. Think people will have their guard up if a friend whispers crypto in their ear but it's when Tom Brady and Matt Damon splashes coins in their face that they need to have their spider sense up...
2103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 25, 2023, 09:34:13 PM
I think this upcoming Euro is their last time around to try and get a trophy as their players are already of old age and most probably this will be their last tournament that they will play together before leaving the field to new talented players as Croatia has many of them ready to take over.

I actually think I heard that about the time of the last Euros, and certainly during the last World Cup Wink

About 3 seasons ago also people started wondering if the age of older people dominating their sports was here -- this isn't even in football alone but in tennis and some American sports (Tom Brady retiring 4 or 5 times?).

I wonder in football how many young people got overlooked into their mid 20s because older players never seemed to lose their spots.
2104  Economy / Speculation / Re: INSTEAD OF CRASHING BITCOIN RALLIED. on: March 25, 2023, 01:39:30 PM
Bitcoin generally has been risk-on for the past 3 years. There are times when its not correlated  but for most of the time is it. Look what happened during the covid crash. Bitcoin crashed also with stocks.

This banking crisis is considered risk-off but its different because people are panicking about their funds inside their bank. If they disappear they are in trouble. Hence why many bought bitcoin because with bitcoin your money doesn't disappear and they also can't print an unlimited number like fiat.

I don't think there ever has been a risk-off period for Bitcoin. I definitely see it as a long-term asset, pretty sure more conventional like banks and governments are also warming up to the idea, but it's still a lot of risk even for the medium-term of 3-5 years.

This correlation thing also hasn't weakened, to my view. If anything, you can almost just tell what Bitcoin price is by following the (tech) stock news.

So if there are more bank failures its bullish for bitcoin. But if the entire economy falls into a deep recession and stocks go down... so might bitcoin.

Yup. Banking crash = Bitcoin rally makes sense because it's a blow to the money alternative. But systemic economic failure won't see anything escape.
2105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: March 25, 2023, 12:11:38 PM
CLS63 you won this one. Final question goes to me it's still 2-1. What a miserable outcome, but I'm glad I lost to you thanks to KdB being the non-factor. I know we still got that England game to decide, but I believe the best outcome is a draw for me, you did pick Italy anyway!

Dutch, my bad for believing in them. Gakpo and others missing is no excuse for Oranjes.

2106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: March 24, 2023, 04:39:42 PM
Re Italy England, I lost that point, but should have won it if not for Maguire curses on him and on CLS63 haha.

Malta saved me, though, thanks minnows.

I was watching most parts of the game in patches and following possession on Livescore -- England was as high as 63% at one stage and it felt fair as they took control offensively, but the second half was Italy's and then after the sending off, it all got eaten away as Italy grew into the game.

I would say it's fair, and we use official results, regardless of what the mind thinks.

But good to check, and make Cro2 work.

Oh and darxiaomi yes Igebotz is a silly boi, but it's okay, you can sling insults at him too, he likes the attention.
2107  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The DigiPiglet Journey on: March 24, 2023, 03:26:57 PM
Not deliberate necropost, but does anyone know what happened to this? Lesbian Cow was last on the journey... and what? Did I miss out on those bear/bull NFTs? Is it too late? Are Piglets now extinct? So many questions, many made-up answers!
2108  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance launches new cloud mining for Bitcoin on: March 24, 2023, 11:05:09 AM
Didn't see this topic earlier, also saw an email when cleaning up my inbox. Didn't think anyone would want to try yet another cloud mining project, particularly when even legitimate ones have closed down (to my knowledge anyway).

For me, anything that feeds a regular and predictable income at scheduled periods has to be anything but cloud mining. Mining is anything but predictable.

That said, they have "sold out" all their options now, so maybe they have a limited pool of subscribers.
2109  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 24, 2023, 09:33:15 AM
Surprised he didn't last longer, really. Thought his money would have taken him far.

I find it a bit weird and stupid for him to use a European airport, despite not being part of the EU Montenegro has a ton of extradition treaties, and with him on the Interpol list, there is no chance they will not deport him. Pretty a stupid move, he should have fled to some south Asian country instead.

Probably easier to move around there, true, but then he probably also fears the retribution that he is likely to run into with the deep networks of triad members who would have found him a bit more easily than in Europe. I'd wager he felt safer dealing with the higher risk of formal enforcement than with the lower but deadlier risk of informal street justice.
2110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 23, 2023, 08:48:38 PM
My predictions are in bold.

Half time and you're in the clear already for most of them. Could probably have been worth a pretty penny on HT accas even if it'd have lost, not sure why I didn't think of it actually! Oh wait, I'm sure, I don't trust this national team lineups Wink

Italy's a disappointment personally. They took me far last Euro, not a single shot on target though...
2111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +85933 units on: March 23, 2023, 04:59:35 PM
I know it's been such a long time since I updated this (well, 4 months is long enough) but real life has become such a nuisance I've really not been able to make proper bets the way I would have liked for this thread. Nevertheless, I intend to do my best to get this up back and running.

So we start with Euros (terrible choice?) but if you've been following this then you know my predilections for teams from Caucascus and "Asia" who somehow play in UEFA.

Slovenia is just about finishing the match to beat Kazakhstan, which is normally a bet I'd take but they were at only 3/1 if I recall, so we escaped that loss.

Tomorrow, however, I got eyes on Azerbaijan, who'll do all they can to upset Austria.

100 units on Azerbaijan to WIN vs Austria @12.55 on Sportsbet. Other odds: 11.5
Bet ID: 641b644369eea000018c4f93
Units advantage: 105

Also, finally updating the totals here. We had a great Brentford win vs City (+1900), but we did lose the hedge (-100) (on a final minute Toney goal too!) so a small nick, no problem.

Running advantage after 38 bets: +3580 (+105)
All-time cumulative: +87,194
Running units after 37 bets (7W|30L): +3246 (+1700)
2112  Economy / Economics / Re: More trouble for crypto? on: March 23, 2023, 03:30:58 PM
Scary if you're still leaving your coins on Binance/Huobi etc.

Probably also scary if you're leaving your precious coins on "decentralised blockchains" like TRON or even Binance Chain (or whatever name it's called these days).

People think these "DEXs" are non-custodial, wait till the servers running them are seized...

That's worst-case scenario, of course, which I doubt happens...
2113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: March 23, 2023, 12:50:56 PM
Well, I'm behind also for backing Lyon, I should have also gone Chelski for the women, huh Igebotz.

England should win tonight easily, for once I picked the away team Smiley

I picked Italy. Hoping they hurt enough from missing out on World Cup, that they want a statement of intent. CLS63 and I went completely different directions for the game, so if I lose today, I probably play for a draw...

Wait until more man start to join female football more and start winning everything.

Carefuly what you wish for Wink I feel like it's a wave of that happening in N America but not quite yet the rest of the world. I played mix team futsal a bit in my day and it is refreshingly low on drama and simulation (which you get with guys for some reason).
2114  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitMEX Founder Arthur Hayes Predicts Bitcoin To Reach $1 Million Within 2-3 Year on: March 23, 2023, 09:57:40 AM
Just when you thought people had beaten the 1-million dollar dead horse to smithereens, another dude comes out of the woodwork -- from the McAfee era too.

Not that I don't like/dislike the guy, just thought he'd be happy he's escaped quite a lot of the storm with reasonable comfort.

I'd love for a million dollar Bitcoin sure, but yeah as said above. The more people come out and say it, the less likely it's happening. Not in this 2/3 years anyway. Maybe let's revisit 100k first?

Friend, after Liverpool you're addicted to losing money on English teams  Wink Cheesy
By the way, will you bet on Chelsea qualifying or on winning each game?

Shh, don't say it so loudly, or I might hear it. You don't want me to give up here do you? Wink

Chelsea winning first, then see how it goes the next round. Qualifying is shit odds, from my lens anyway...

I'm betting on Bayern Munich to beat Manchester City; I'd rather play Bayern than Manchester City, right now

Probably same. I might go with live with the one that goes a goal behind first.

agree for Napoli, but Benfica is also playing some good football, not sure if you watched them, but they are good
not that good as Napoli, but I would not call them out at any point from their half of the draw

regarding other half, I would not be surprised to see Chelsea in the final, but Bayern is my favorite to reach final from that half (not that I am fan, just realistic)

looking at all teams, there is simply no my teams in these 8, and I will stick with Benfica until they are out

Group stages, yeah. Portuguese teams are probably at the highest level they've been in for a while, across the board in European competitions. I'd love to see a Napoli double, and they're the most "deserving" of it. Georgian-Nigerian duo, I'd never have guessed it.
2118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 22/23 - discussion thread on: March 22, 2023, 04:47:00 PM
maybe they can reach CL QF, to keep same score
there is always some underdog in CL QF, this season there are few, playing in same part of the draw, so anything is possible

I hope so, in fact, if they do end up in the group stage, I'm going to put an outright down on them. Should be a fantastic 100/1 at least. Just wish somehow they'd get enough prize money to buy really good players (or keep really good ones away from Ajax).

This game had quite some match character. What's really rough is that they are also meeting in the KNVB Cup and Feyenoord could destroy the whole season for Ajax Amsterdan within roughly two weeks. The season was going pretty well for them, but it took some turn weeks ago. Also getting kicked out in the Europa League and now it comes down to Feyenoord's performance in the league and in the cup. Overall Feyenoord deserves to be where they are as they haven't lost a game in all competitions for over 20 games and the last one they lost in the domestic league was on September 18th. That's good enough to compete with Ajax.

Every Rotterdammer prays for this. I live near enough too, and even though it's not really my team I might be tempted to go share some of that anguish/joy. As I said, though, false dawns...
2119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: March 22, 2023, 03:44:33 PM
Never watched women's UCL, don't know if have a channel that is broadcasting that live. Where can we see today's game? I mean I have pretty much all sports channels so I must have it but I don't know where it is on  Grin

Dazn has it. World Cup was even fully free on Youtube (and I watched last season games free on youtube too, all in English, live, better quality than what I actually watch for men's  haha). Not sure if this season is the same on YT.

Never watched women's UCL, don't know if have a channel that is broadcasting that live. Where can we see today's game? I mean I have pretty much all sports channels so I must have it but I don't know where it is on  Grin

I have been watching their Euro and World cup and I must say that there are some really good players. What bothers me most is when you see perfect trough ball and then nobody manages to get on top of it. By perfect I mean measured by men's standard. In other words my eyes are betraying me since they are used to another level athleticism and that is what they miss most.

That's what I meant by off-the-ball. It's nowhere near men's football but I think it's getting there. They can cross, pass, shoot really really well, and naturally, that's what you get first improved.

Strikers and midfield would fit in perfect on mixed 5v5 too, but their keepers are still the lowest ability, in my view of watching a handful of games. Athleticism, as you point out, is probably the thing. No super bendy Buffon full stretch like pouncing cats, no Zlatan karate swings, etc. That will all improve with time, women's football has only really had a couple of decades of proper development (Arsenal in England leads the way, Liverpool is very stupidly ignoring it mostly).

IIRC Sportsbet even had deals with Estonia and Arsenal to train up their women over there.

Edit: You know what women's football doesn't have? Play-acting! Not as I've seen anyway. It's the one thing about men's football that pisses me off.

Japan win, did anyone take the outright promo for that? Would have netted quite a lot of freebets in addition to the winnings...

The spreadsheet has been unlocked, answers from strongkored are hidden because vd309 hasn't submitted his answers yet.

Regarding the Haaland question - I was trying to be a sneaky bastard Grin
I thought he'll play for 30 minutes or so if Norway will have an active result but unfortunately it looks like he won't play at all.
In that case the question will be voided.

Yeah that absolutely floored me. I put my picks in generally with whatever knowledge I had of games and form from memory. And then soon after, I read the injury news and I thought hmm, ok maybe he needs to be not even competing, but it was, of course too late to change my answer.

Void saved me, and countless others probably!

Oh and yes, I do watch women's UCL actually, probably fewer than 5 matches in my lifetime. Mentioned in posts other places but their technical ability (esp at this club level) can be quite many levels above the average. I still think keeper is the area that needs most improvement, as is off-the-ball action, but overall, they're not bad to watch at all.
