2101  Other / Off-topic / Re: The current "happenings" are lining up with prophesies. on: March 05, 2021, 02:57:22 PM
If that is prophesying is accurate, we do not know if that will happen in our era or not because in those prophesies, they do not tell when the time to come. So we are busy to guess what their mean and pretending that we know something that will happen this year. Even if that really happens, if you are not preparing yourself, you will get doom and will die with those prophecies. No matter what the prophesies say, you need to think about yourself and get ready for that to save your life and your family because that is the important thing you can do.

Well, I'm referring mostly to the one that will come to pass very soon: Revelation 17:9 -11
Other clues are in large part of the Book of Revelation.
People tend to disregard my warnings, or they work against it until it come to pass and take them by surprise. If it's not from GOD I won't be bold about it.
2102  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Translation Services be trusted? on: March 05, 2021, 02:38:11 PM
Not everyone in offering the translation services are masters in both languages even if they are masters still the change csn be obvious because you can tell the same statement in multiple angle so it may not look exactly what you have given for them to translate.

I think a honest translator can do a good job even if he/she is not grounded in both languages. The difficult-to-translate parts/words could be marked or underlined.

I don't think that the problem is if the translation is not completely in line with the original, but that the meaning of the translated text is not completely lost. Like in the funny example that Ucy showed.

I can see that it can be a big mess. Especially if it's a serious matter.

Ofcourse. The problem is that the non-human translation service I have used so far changes some or the entire meaning of a writeup. If it doesn't, I wouldn't be too bothered. The changes or mistranslation is just too much to be considered safe.
2103  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich have too much on: March 05, 2021, 11:04:53 AM
I would be more worried about selfish rich people than those who use their wealth for the benefit of society and the world.
And the rich must be humble,  live with the poor, use their resources for the benefit of the society. We work together like healthy living cells for the good of the body/society rather than outgrow the rest of body at its own detriment like certain cancers do.
2104  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: March 05, 2021, 09:57:18 AM
It's a very interesting discussion for me. Why do criminals prefer fiat money of course because fiat money still dominates higher adoption and of course they still find it easier to use fiat currency than crypto.
In addition cryptocurrencies have unstable value, perhaps that is also the problem for them.
With the implementation of KYC security system and fingerprint of course this is also the fear of criminals.
There are hardly any statistics on this topic. Most likely, this is just an assumption that criminals use cash more than cryptocurrency. Although it would be logical. After all, not all criminals are well versed in the world of cryptocurrency to risk their freedom with it. And cash is simpler and more reliable, and besides, it is almost impossible to trace it. Therefore, we should not give up cash.

And if those criminals are using Crypto then smarter ones from them are using Mixing services to make turn their money white.
I used to think Monero is transparent until recently someone started exposing the porn habits of people and their IP addresses made me question its anonymity.

I guess you mean "I used think Monero is anonymous". I think transactions on transparent Blockchain would be visible to the public, like Bitcoin and other transparent Blockchains are.
I  believe transactions by crypto users, including anonymous users, should be transparent... You are only protecting the user's privacy , which is actually a right. Transparency is part of the reasons I prefer Bitcoin and other true cryptocurrencies.

2105  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Translation Services be trusted? on: March 05, 2021, 09:18:24 AM
I would approach this situation like this: When you hire a translator, arrange payment only after the translation is checked with a third party - another translator or proofreader. You can agree to use a middleman (escrow) and that you will not pay him if he does not meet the quality.
Once you get the translated work, you can ask the online community (even on this forum) to check a few random sentences or paragraphs to make sure no machine translation has been used (this can be easily recognized by any native speaker).
After that, you simply approve the payment to the translator.
That way, you don't have to pay double service and you'll have public evidence if it's a bad quality translation so no one will be able to accuse you of attempted fraud.

I think the translation service will be voluntary. I may tip the translators or give rewards if necessary.
I hope to get correct translations using the methods I listed above, with little to no error, even if I'm using unqualified translators
2106  Other / Off-topic / Re: The current "happenings" are lining up with prophesies. on: March 05, 2021, 09:01:40 AM
It shocks me whenever I come back to my "low level mind" how precised Holy Bible prophesies are. I'm particularly more interested in what happened in US past (esp from Nov 3rd 2020) to date. What I was shown by the CREATOR of Heaven and Earth is gradually coming to pass. It should shock the observant ones how extremely precised the prophesies have been so far.

*The enemy and his agents are trying to fully takeover the nations but are failing because It's Is Not Yet Time. GOD is giving the world the opportunity to know the truth and follow HIS Son JESUS CHRIST.

The Powers in the Spiritual is unbelievably advanced. GOD has given the True Church the Powers. The spiritual kingdom of darkness are suffering heavy defeat by the Church and GOD has given the Church Powers over them. The Spiritual war is way more effective than the physical wars.

Believe this^. It's real!

if you interpret that as meaning trump event.. then you are very low level minded.
seems you are a trump fan itching to find any false gravitas that you can pull towards your love of trump.

I do not really understand this^... and the remaining part of your post.
I am referring to how political/world events are playing out precisely according to the Word of GOD. Do you follow my post concerning them since I became saved , and can you prove any of them wrong? I post here and few other places concerning the events .... non has been contradicted.

In regards to politics, I didn't mention I was a fan of Trump and I stated it clearly several times.
I was part of those who criticized him & other politicians that certain people thought I hated him and was supporting the Democrats.

I believe strongly that Power will be given back to him soon.

It's quite easy for regular people & others to commit crimes with physical currencies compared to virtual currencies like Bitcoin or digital fiats.     Bitcoin makes it easy to catch criminals due to its transparency and immutablity. The activities on the network is visible to the public compared to fiat which is more like a dark money.

If you shine light on crimes committed using physical currencies, it will probably humble alots of people.
2108  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hard work OR Smart work Which thing will make you most successful on: March 04, 2021, 03:43:54 PM
I think both. Work smart, as long as possible until you are tired.
I consider hard work as doing something important/useful until you're exhausted.
2109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks is becoming a joke on: March 04, 2021, 03:25:21 PM
Defi has attracted a lot of investors and traders that is why they are followed by both developers and scammers. They also want take a piece of that pie. I don't know the details of the Meerkat Finance "hack" yet so I can only speculate. Was their code audited by a reputable third party? Is their team anonymous? Answers to those questions can help us form informed decision.

One of the major problems with the DeFi I knew in the past was the kind of risk the platform allows.    I wish projects are used and tested properly for awhile before they are allowed in the public for serious use.

Teams could have their real identity verified in privacy-friendly manner and still remain anonymous as long as their profiles show stuff like "blue checkmarks" on name section to prove that their real identities have been verified but not visible to the public. If the team commit serious crime like attacking the community, community could request that their identity be revealed.

Decentralized Ideals/principles have to go hand in hand for security and other reasons.
2110  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Translation Services be trusted? on: March 04, 2021, 02:49:57 PM
I think the translation software or site only provides 80% grammar accuracy...
sometimes the language that is formed when we try the translator site/software is not right at all but it really helps me every day. I am actively using a translator so that I can make posts here. otherwise, it will be very difficult for me to write in English as it is today.

Ofcourse, that is what I suspect also . But skilled human translator will be able to solve the grammar issue and give you a better translation. Proper understanding of the feeling/expressions of a writer is part of the reasons program made by humans can't be as good as humans. I would understand what someone is trying to convey in a writeup, whether he/she uses the proper grammar but programs can't solve this problem yet as far as I can tell.

Just tried translating an article on physorg.org from English to French and translate the translated article back to English to prove the grammar theory, the result still not that great.

I used French in this case because it's a more common language than the language I translated to yesterday.

Yes, sometimes translators fail if you communicate in a language other than your native language.  You can use different services with contextual translation to better understand what is being said in each case. For example, this service: https://context.reverso.net/translation/. Or any other.

Will probably try that out.
I notice it has few languages compare to the popular translators.
2111  Other / Off-topic / Re: Higher education, is it so important? on: March 04, 2021, 10:59:11 AM
In this era of rapid development, knowledge is particularly important. If you don’t have a degree, you will not be hired by the company. Many jobs require this threshold.
Lol sooner it is not the degree that will bring you work but your skill and ability , i have known many people that did not finished their college degree but since they are good in technology they are now having good Business in internet world.

Remember that we are getting closer and closer in computer operated world and people can manage learning thru internet and not from Schools.

In my opinion, if certain companies truly require qualifications from typical established schools rather than basing qualification on merit, then the companies wont really do well without relying on qualified people outside the companies to solve their problems, or they will probably cheat/steal ideas from others.
The typical established schools are not very good at training people to use their natural gifts or talents properly. You could easily build a workshop to train people to make things like bread, but typical schools will spend years teaching them and  the school students would end up going to workshop to learn to make bread.
2112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Lifeboat on: March 04, 2021, 10:17:37 AM
I would consider it Decentralized Ship built by the people to escape multiple slave ship that are in danger of collapse in violent sea waves. The decentralized ship is built to withstand the waves under the conditions that it continues to remain decentralized and improve along its  Ideals/principles.
2113  Economy / Economics / Re: Imagine the government not printing money - "Notgeld" on: March 04, 2021, 09:49:41 AM
There is a big difference between that and the current situation. Before they have to print an "emergency money" because there was a shortage for one but now there is an abundance of supply of currencies and other payment methods such as credit cards and payment processors as well as cryptocurrencies so it really doesn't apply to this scenario where Bitcoin is some kind of secondary option when the fiat currency fails. Now you are saying that this will be our protection from inflation but the truth is cryptocurrencies are never protected with inflation as long as their value is based in fiat currencies they will always be affected by inflation.

You could as well do thesame thing today if a financial/currency system is badly mismanaged. Bitcoin was partly created as a response to financial crisis that was capable of badly affecting people's fiat currency value. And the creators did the right thing by making it decentralized and giving users the power to control their coins and decide how the network is run. The system basically gave power and control back to the people, which is how it should be.
A good system/network will  have good principles/rules, and those representing the network are accountable to the people if they go against the network principles/rules
.

I think the problem is being different in the midst of people who look/behave almost thesame. Most people want to have a sense of belonging and associate with things that are like them.
It's only under CHRIST Rule can mixing together be possible without a single problem. And it's only possible in a True Church.

2116  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: March 03, 2021, 03:56:43 PM
I think what people should focus more on is the needy... Not every poor person is in need of money, food (and things like that), and there are lots of people that seem rich but are needy.
You could build a society that have lots of poor people..but  no one lacks anything and everyone is contented.
2117  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about borrowing against your bitcoin? on: March 03, 2021, 03:36:19 PM
I prefer not to borrow atall. I would instead invest only a part of my whole savings  into Bitcoin rather than everything, then use the other parts to finance other important things when I need to . Or I will simply just focus on accumulating small bit of Bitcoin regularly.

Borrowing can be addictive. And imagine getting addicted to it but not using the borrowed money well and being profitable.
2118  Economy / Economics / Re: Imagine the government not printing money - "Notgeld" on: March 03, 2021, 03:00:43 PM
Interesting.

Excerpt from the Notgeld Wikipedia page:
Quote
Notgeld was mainly issued in the form of (paper) banknotes. Sometimes other forms were used, as well: coins , leather, silk , linen, wood , postage stamps , aluminium foil , coal , and porcelain; there are also reports of elemental sulfur being used, as well as all sorts of re-used paper and carton material (e.g. playing cards ). These pieces made from playing cards are extremely rare and are known as Spielkarten , the German word for "playing card". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notgeld
Interesting things they used as money.
I wonder if they ever had the problem of counterfeiting(creating fakes). That's one of the main problems that can ruin a currency.

2119  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Translation Services be trusted? on: March 03, 2021, 10:59:11 AM
The translation is funny, that must be from google translate. Upon availing of translation services, you should only ask those people who are living in a native language and have probably good to best English language.

In that standard, you'll be fleeing from those people that seem to offer translation services but are only getting translations from automated software like Google translate freely.

The bolded actually what I'm planning to do.

I'm also considering getting multiple human translators to translate thesame post/writeup in order to compare them for consistency. Alternatively, I will get another person to retranslate a translated post back to the original language it was translated from to see how correct and reliable it is.
2120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumption Index - The impact of BTC in the World on: March 03, 2021, 10:38:20 AM
I think researchers should also be interested in what Bitcoin contribute to the world and compared it to how much energy it uses to know whether it's really worth it. The disadvantages should cause little to no problems to the environment... And the advantages should far outweigh the disadvantages in order to be considered less risky or fairly safe. Wish they can really provide strong proofs that the energy usage has lots consequences for the environment .
By the way, I hope Bitcoin becomes more energy efficient, environmentally friendly, useful and secure in the future.
