2181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 9 Common Mistakes - Companies Make When Marketing Their ICO on: April 07, 2018, 02:26:35 PM
Most ICO's dont understand they will never complete their whitepaper or even 50% of it. They think they will raise a chunk of bucks and find mystery geniuses of near nobel prize level and there are teams of these people just dying to work on their junk.

Then they realise they have the funds and it will be easier to let down over time the investors and just start another ico and raise those funds all over again.
2182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO with proven business or ICO that start from zero? You pick! on: April 07, 2018, 02:22:05 PM
considering over 90% of icos will perish due to never completing their dreams and talk white paper I will avoid any that do not have a product in at least beta form that has a proven use case that can not easily be achieved with btc or eth.
2183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ARE YOU IN THE RED! - Then I recommend that you consolidate to THESE REAL alts on: April 07, 2018, 02:20:25 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2479595.0

bitbay
byteball
blocknet
syscoin
komodo
pivx

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2479595.0

there are others that clearly demonstrate the dev team has a good skillset but some are way over priced and others are very experimental

If you just justify within the terms of the OP here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2479595.0 other projects then let's examine them.

The first to start wising up and consolidating to these alts are going to be the better off.

of course BTC is still a great holding place if you are not able to research and find the most time tested and proven dev teams that have the required skillset to COMPLETE a project that has a REAL usecase.

2184  Other / Archival / Re: South Korea will launch its own coin-coded "Seoul-Coin" on: April 07, 2018, 11:31:16 AM
Seoul City will also apply blockchain technology to its administrative operations, using its own currency as a means of payment.
Seoul, South Korea is planning to launch its own encoding currency, S-Coin. According to the report, S-Coin will be used for government-funded social welfare activities.

Mayor Park Won-soon announced the plan in an interview with CoinDesk Korea last week. Mr Park also said the city would set up a fund for blockchain technology development and blockchain-related startups.

Park said, "Seoul is one of the world's leading cities for information and communication. In this fourth technological revolution, I think we should study new technologies like blockchain. "

Just as Estonia is adopting a blockchain in its administrative activities in the government, Park said that Seoul could also apply blockchain technology to its administration. For example, public transport in the city, or subsidized youth.

In addition, Park believes that S-Coin can be used as a payment method for city-sponsored welfare programs. For example, health care programs for people, or help students find a job.

Seoul was the first city in South Korea to introduce a roadmap for the development and application of blockchain technology. In November 2017, the city government contacted Samsung to plan a strategy for platform-based innovation.

wow, when bitcoin and altcoin can not be controlled by the state then by making a legitimate coin is the right solution. because by making legitimate coins the country can follow the increasingly sophisticated technological developments. maybe in the future people will transact using virtual money.

these centrally issued crap coins are going nowhere. global trustless decentralised crypto is the way to go.
2185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin will go down 1000 below on: April 07, 2018, 11:22:29 AM
nobody cares what a zero post noob account thinks based on his 2 min experience in crypto.

noob jail for all these mysterious shitty accounts appearing hourly with their doom and gloom predictions based upon their own fantasies of cheap btc again.

2186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: April 07, 2018, 11:15:19 AM
OptiToken has released the details regarding the airdrop on Bay holders:

Optitokens will be airdropped to BAY holders in the following format.

1:300 meaning 1 OptiToken for every 300 BAY the top 500 addresses hold in their BAY cold wallet  at time of snapshot at roughly 3pm UTC on May 1st, 2018.

The amount is set to be roughly 3.9 million OptiToken which is in ICO value nearly €500,000 value at current ICO rate of €0.12 per OptiToken. The value can grow as well as we are extending a way for others to participate. OptiToken is a strong believer in BAY and looks forward to its growth as it nears its pegging to the USD.

What if my BAY are stuck on UpBit? Please speak with Seungjin in the Korean BitBay TG group as he’s coordinating the solution and we will most certainly include those individuals.

What if I’m not a top 500 address but still active in community?
Simply shoot us an email at airdrop@optitoken.io with your Slack name or TG name and an ERC20 compatible ETH wallet address we will drop you 30 OPTI as well Smiley

Here’s an added bonus we’ve decided to add in as we try to innovate demand in this bearishly depressing market:

Airdrop doubles for BAY holders who buy 2 ETH+, triples for people who buy 5 ETH+ of OPTI. So what this means is if someone is set to receive 4,000 OPTI’s from Airdrop their allocation will raise to 8,000 or even 12,000 additional tokens

If someone from the BAY community doesn’t have enough BAY to be a top 500 address then they can still participate and receive 2,500 additional OPTI if they purchase 2 ETH+ of opti and hold at least 1000 BAY, 5,000 additional opti if they buy 5 ETH+ and hold at least 1000 BAY.

To receive this discount email info@optitoken.io with your BAY deposit address so we can explore the balance along with your email you used to sign up and purchase OptiToken. We’ll examine both address on or within a few days of the timestamp date for Airdrop which is May 1st.

Did you know?
OptiToken recently switched its ICO pegged price from the EURO to ETH=€385 (22% added value) and BTC=€6480 (20% roughly added value) whyd we do this? This gives HODL’ers and true believers in crypto a chance to rewind time a bit and peg their crypto’s value a bit higher while bad actors continue to try to drive market prices down!
OptiToken.io is where you go if you wish to participate. We hope this brings a lot of new buys to OptiToken as we have people who are now learning about BAY for the first time in our social outlets and we hope the same happens for OptiToken.

BY cold wallet do you just mean hold in their  local wallet or in other words they have the priv key to the coins on chain?

Also so for example if...

1. you are top 500 and hold these coins in your local wallet at the time of snapshot

what steps next to

a/ claim your 300:1

b/  or 150:1  by purchasing 2 eth worth of opti?

c/ or 100:1 by purchasing 3 eth worth of opti?

Also is it correct that 50k bay is the ideal staking size chunk so best to send chunks of 50k to your local wallet?

2187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: April 06, 2018, 10:14:49 PM
Do you have in mind any marketing campaign to boost the marketplace? I had in mind selling all kind of Bitbay marketing products (the marketplace should be already full of that stuff), a kind of happy hour buying time, discounts for people with more than a certain amount of coins (for holders)...

We can always use marketing products and more campaigns.

The thing is that Bay community seems to be quite passive, sleepy. In fact, announcements barely get any response. Maybe as devs make so much progress and make a lot of announcements (which is something good) people get insensitive about it.
What I was trying to say it´s that Bay team should do an effort to turn the community into a more active one. Perhaps a bit of MK would hook people and even be appealing to new one. It doesn´t need to be something massive...
I´m just trying to be constructive here, maybe I´m wrong. In any case, I support the project!!

I completely agree with this entire statement. I have of course zero complaints regarding development but the community especially on here even in bull market times is passive and practically silent most of the time.

We needs some characters who bring some apparent life to the bb community.

TA means little in crypto
2189  Other / Meta / Re: Legend and Hero subsection on BTC and ALT boards. Please?? on: April 06, 2018, 09:07:06 PM
The main issue is nobody really knows about it.

I think with immediate effect on the bitcoin discussion and altcoin discussion  boards have a junior version for anyone sub hero rank - perhaps 1 rank even lower than that but at a bare minimum.

So with immediate effect the current alt and bitcoin discussion boards turn to hero/legends only and  alt and bltcoin junior discussion boards are for everyone else and legend and heros if they want to post there.

So actually the junior discussion versions are the sub discussion boards I guess.

I mean the alt discussion board has gone to hell. I often have to look through 4 or 5 pages to locate any thread that is not masses of noob accounts all spamming icos or asking the same questions over and over. The board resources are just devoured by 50% spam now.

I think that board is no longer moderated or if it is then the job is so vast and impossible then those mods are over whelmed.

The announcements boards are over run with bots asking obviously out of context questions or making ambiguous statements to harvest some rank although the merit stops them ranking up the bots still clogging up the board. I mean the most gullible real members then start trying to make sense of these bot posts. That section for now just needs more mods or a possible flagging system for members to flag up these bots. Flagging powers to hero and legends only I guess to stop the bots flagging real posts.

Noob jail was great for weeding out the spammers.

2190  Other / Meta / Legend and Hero subsection on BTC and ALT boards. Please?? on: April 06, 2018, 06:45:14 PM
Since the work required to bring back noob jail would be immense can we have a hero and legends only sub forum on BTC and ALTS

The entire board is flooded with spam and the good posts are just pushed to page 20 within a few moments.

Anyone could read the boards but only legends and heros can post there.

I can't even read any topic without marinecoin spam noob accounts piling in by the dozen.

I thought all the veteran posters had left but they are just drown out by noob accounts spamming the latest airdrop or ico.

Also a ton more mods are required to keep the board from being crushed by spam.

2191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Panic sell? on: April 06, 2018, 10:33:17 AM
btc will rebound

alts are diluting to shit there is an endless stream of craps released daily

find the alt projects that have real time test development teams behind them..... this does not mean those with the highest market cap in all instances

there will be consolidation to these few alts over time as people wise up... don't be the last to locate them and get on board.
2192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ICOs are worth investing in? on: April 05, 2018, 09:49:41 PM
better to stick with btc if you don't happen to be a skilled cryptographer, conceptual designer and coder

otherwise you're just guessing and listening to others who know as little as yourself.

I think we will start seeing major roll out of LN in all places very shortly.

2194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India's RBI Bans Crypto and Bitcoin on: April 05, 2018, 04:37:34 PM
is there something wrong with the noobs here

this is the 50th fucking thread on this shit in the last 2hours.

fuck off posting the same shit over and over.... read through the forum to see if your latest blurb of fud has already been posted

the market seems to not give one fuck about this news anyway...

If I air dropped you in india randomly 1m times if you survived the first 99 people you bumped into would not have heard of crypto, even if one had heard of it he probably would not have any free cash to invest into it.

India is not at this time so important to btc.  In future that may change but making decisions like this leaves that in doubt too.  You can be sure those with huge amounts wealth in india will be holding and accumulating more btc. 99.99% were not really ready for the btc party now anyway.

When this bank realises their centralised shit coin is not going anywhere and btc is marching on leaving them out they will be running to get on the train again.

2195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 99% OF ALL AIRDROPS ARE SCAMS!!!!! on: April 05, 2018, 03:48:21 PM
I think you are being too conservative with your estimates here in this thread.  Let's throw more realistic numbers around when talking about a distributional method that has no transparency and no regulation.
2196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 56% of ICOs fail and it's OK on: April 05, 2018, 03:34:46 PM
lol far more than that will fail I can assure you...

56% lol

make that 96% or greater. Give them more time to burn through the dev funding first, some of them have to justify devouring 100's millions of dollars not your usual 100k start up.

The best reason for them to fail is there is no advantage to those running the ICO to succeed.

Better to take any tech created and start a new ico under a different name and raise all those yummy noob btc all over again later and take their lions share out again. No risk no work.

huge % of the noobs here since  sep 2017 will be burned hard ........

stick to btc or keep your fiat because doing any real research is beyond the scope and effort most can put in.

NEW projects starting are years behind the curve....... the smart teams were formed years ago.

2197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coins are worth buying NOW on: April 05, 2018, 03:32:41 PM
btc and a select handful of alts that are useful and have a strong proven dev team behind them

there are only about 8 that I would think are worth buying right now that have chances as good as BTC for a revival.

I have a thread dedicated to those

2198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RBI ban Bitcoin? on: April 05, 2018, 03:16:02 PM
Its a small market in crypto terms. Who cares?
What you mean by small market?India is one of the more populated country in the world holding 132 million people which is small? Cheesy

But I don't know this is a true or false new,can anyone confirms that the news is true or not?

I'm sure they have a lot more than 132 million people

although india is not grossly important to bitcoin since the vast majority there have very little money for investing.
2199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: India Bans Cryptocurrencies with Immediate Effect on: April 05, 2018, 03:04:58 PM
oh well another one to tick off of the list

then when they see their centralised crap coin is not going to be used

they will try to join the bitcoin party again but will just be further behind.

so long as we have europe, US, and other long term developed nations this is not that big of a deal
2200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will share my best 3 ICOs. Share yours. on: April 05, 2018, 10:46:59 AM
btc is still going to beat out anything i see posted in this thread.

most will go to zero and be forgotten as promising as they sound.

stop betting on that local blind kid with 1 leg that is telling you they will turn out to be messi or ronaldo.

In the end betting on proven dev teams that have already been time tested is going to be way better for you financially.

the only thing most new ico teams have is a skill set for making noob fools dream they can provide something that sounds interesting and useful before they leave with your funds to start another ico that does not work out seen it over and over again.

that's the best advice you will get on here

btc or one of the time tested alts with a proven beyond doubt team that can design and code.......... not white paper bullshitters who had no business in crypto before they could promise a bunch of shit whilst knowing the "dev funding" will vanish with your dreams as they plan their next game changing ico.
