It's not that I don't agree, but what the fuck good does it do us in local wallets.  The sad fact is that you can't buy food with it yet.
It's safe.
You can just roll down to a local BTC machine and grab a quick 2k whenever needed.

cant go out.

must get btc atm for living room. always wanted one anyway.

In the UK the term "lawyer" is not protected.  Anyone can technically use that term.

In the UK - Solicitor and barrister are protected titles under law and only people that are registered legal practitioners are allowed to use those terms.

Banker is meaningless. But "Chartered banker" is a protected profession in the UK. It may be an offence to use that term if you are not a member of the Institute of Financial Services or Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
https://ec.europa.eu/growth/tools-databases/regprof/index.cfm?action=profession&id_profession=5130&from=regprof&id_regprof=3621

Anyone can be a pastor. You can just claim to be one or join a church. https://www.themonastery.org/ordination

thanks for the clarification on banker and lawyer, did not know they were not "protected" terms so to speak.

as for pastor ("teacher" in my book) yes i know anyone can be one on paper. my hero, bruce campbell (evil dead fame) is one. they (csw and bc) seem to apply it differently though for example.

but i dont wish for this to detract from wrights greater lies so ill stop here on this point.

On a more serious note, I never used an AV since the mid 90s and never catched anything, so I can't advise.

AV's give some false sense of security, more or less a digital snake oil. But most/all catch only a fraction of the nasties out there while massively invading your privacy.

I still have a few hundred samples that kiddies dropped on my honeypot ~5yrs ago and you need at least a dozen different AV products to detect over 90% of them.

But if you are happy if every link you get by email or in web sites that is looking suspicious to an AI is fetched by an AWS* instance to be run through a malware detonation chamber and most certainly getting archived, MS Defender is probably fine for you.
Though I'd strongly advise against using such a computer for dealing with your crypto moneys (because, umm, somebody is randomly clicking links on your behalf).

* Yes, MS is using Amazon not Azure for this, they think they can outsmart the bad guys this way *lol* - bad guys have IP lists of all these instances from most AVs.

1st thing i do in any AV is uncheck any stuff that submits code samples to the AV company. who knows what may be in that chunk of code from your system. keys? passwords? or?

Seems like he might also be enjoying some package stimulus.

2226  Other / Off-topic / anyone 3D printing stuff on: April 02, 2020, 10:54:27 PM
if so, what printer? and what major pros and cons are there.

i know some have printed fan adapters and whatnot, and i would also. ive seen basic ones for $250is but i want something fairly serious, all enclosed and heated etc. i would use it to print stuff for COVID use if possible.

ones ive looked at range from 2k to 4k USD. but im not real up on this stuff.

anyone care to enlighten me? i assume there is software (proprietary?) also needed.

Let me better understand.
Under medicaid you go to the doctor, you pay nothing, and then the doctor is reimbursed 20 bucks from the government?
So he can decide to allocate his time to higher paying clients with private insurances or you paying 20$?
Is that correct?

our MDs never even knew what insurance a patient had. treatment and face time was always independent of insurance. only time a question of insurance was getting prior auth and such for some things.

all technical stuff aside (that is way above the very limited brain power i have left) i knew he wasent as soon as i saw his blog byline:

Quote
Creator of Bitcoin – Satoshi Nakamoto.
Eternal student & researcher. nChain Chief Scientist. Lawyer, banker, economist, pastor, coder, investor, mathematician, stats & world curious.

https://craigwright.net/
bold and italics are mine.

satoshi was not any of those things, he built something completely outside of that system.

on a personal note, thats neither here nor there, what really sticks in my craw is his claim he is a pastor. as one who has a deep faith, i find that he calls himself a pastor laughable and insulting.

EDIT: btw he seems to have toned his blurb down a bit, it used to be longer and more grandiose. gonna try to find a copy on the wayback or something. revisionist history and all that.

Read somewhere the whole thing was kicked off when China took delivery of a sanction-violating shipment of oil from Iran ... Israel-US bloc delivers the bioweapon to Iran-China in retaliation, kills the Iranian General 'mastermind' in a drone strike, Saudis go apeshit dumping oil on Russia and USA ... I noticed Russia and Israel shut their borders down way before anyone else ... kinda like they knew it was the good stuff.

Could just be all a mad conspiracy but it does look a lot like a free-for-all and the fragile peace is all but over. Choose your sides wisely I guess.

i picked the human race side. but the players are generally pretty stupid, dont follow common sense directions and dont seem to realize what teamwork is.

so far Team COVID-19 is better organized than Team Human.

Looks like we're all cured. "One day it's like a miracle, it will disappear."

On the inside (I don't recall sharing it), I was thinking that theymos would have deployed some kind of grande finale with banning or suspending accounts because of the level of contagion.. but sure, that might have been carrying the joke a bit too far...  Undecided

im surprised theymos didnt shunt us all to a special quarantine section of the forum. we would all spend 2 weeks only able to post there.  think of all the sig campaign shitposters who would have a bird with their quotas. might be entertaining just for that.

@Paashaas

truly sorry for your loss.

as for those who doubt how fast this can kill you.. i know some of us here have a background in medical and i keep in touch with former workmates at my old practice and my wife (retired nurse) stays in touch with friends at the hospital.

this is a dumpster fire. pray you dont need an emergency department visit due to run of the mill accidents that normally would be a quick visit to the ED, stitches/cast/whatever. thats the real problem. no hospital capacity for normal patients with what should be a normal run of the mill ED visit..

if youre sick (not covid). well, good luck.

So beards are the solution to the crisis.  Seems they're on everyone's er... lips?

I'm willing to sacrifice mine if it feeds someone.

As a bonus there's loads of food already lurking in it already. The recipient can expect some week old smoked salmon, oodles of raw liver and a pan fried tumour from a retired police horse as an extra special treat.

huh

i just shave my beard off every month, date them, vacuum seal, freeze and store my old beards. each has about 2000 calories of sustenance trapped in it i figure.

waste not want not.

Oh, and whatever happened to the great new forum they were making to replace this Simple Machines freeware crap?

We don't ask about what happened to all the Bitcoin donated to make that happen.

I would like to just add this...

I was not proselytising yesterday when I mentioned St. Peters Square and I hope you all understand that. It was a incredibly poignant moment visually that I felt the need to share in these trying times. Freedom of religion is as important to me as financial freedom.
Thank you for all the support however.. it means a lot to me.

several holy sites are down now.. mecca is closed, st petersberg closed. and more that ive heard but not verified.

how long since either has been closed is sobering.. thousand+ years theyve been open afaik. no matter what.

Wish me luck finding a taxi.

Ew. Stay six feet (1 meter 82 centimeters 9 millimeters) away from everyone. Don't get into cars, particularly ones driven by strangers.

a CAB??

yuk. if i had to use one i would sit on the hood or trunk instead of in it.

I've tried to avoid the debate on how to treat gin. I enjoy it with Schwepp's and a twist as well as with Dolin's and an olive and a few drops of the brine.

But Bombay Sapphire for gawd's sake? Isn't that something they use for stripping paint? It's barely better than Beefeater or Gilbey's.

To rank it above Tanqueray is a sacrilege and Tanqueray is just middle-of -the-road. I prefer Hendrick's (especially Orbium) for a more subtle, refined taste and Gordon's for full-on honest juniper goodness.

To each their own, I guess. I place Sapphire, Tanqueray, and even Hendricks as about equivalent quality-wise. I just like the mix of infused botanicals in Sapphire.

Hendricks is good for a change of pace from time to time. Cucumber garnish, please.

Gordon's!? Egad, sir! Begone from this place with that turpentine! Well, I guess it's not _crap_ per se - just bland as all nothingness.

Jack Daniels

i feel like such the barbarian.
