i know your in canada, buut seriously, i got something like 8-12 sp20's i can part with right now with more likely to become available in about a month (~6), how many are you in the market for?

I will take ALL of them...they will be my precious Cheesy I'll also take the other 6 in a month. Now we just have to haggle about price. How about I pay you in rum?

Haha, one crate of rum per miner is obviously the going price.

So i see tarzan2 is finally selling them. I still got the half S5 i bought from not long ago (and just this last week finally found a blade to make it whole), really liked my experience with Tarzan2 Cheesy I just finished filling my apartment's electric capacity with all the good deals i could find so i can't even try to grab a bite. =/

Host them with Allinvain Tongue

Since i live on the same electricity grid (probably), i can do better since i can get the electricity at cost, myself, which is cheaper than any hosted services. By far, even Allinvain's. I would otherwise recommend it to anyone however if your electricity cost is over 0.08-0.1/kWh.

I'm new to this please bear with me

I need a example of bat file for cgminer  for slush's pool

Also im mining from laptop using asic Bi•Fury 5 GH/s i dont want to use my GPU.

What code do i need to type into bat file?

Here is mine for the sidehack stick;

cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://yourslushpoolurl -u address.workername --compac-freq 225 --suggest-diff 18

The exact config is going to depend on which version of cgminer and which hardware you run. You should be able to do a search for exactly the hardware you have. You say "also a bitfury" what is the other thing you have?

I think he means that he uses his laptop to plug his USB miner in, meaning that he only has a single Bitfury miner.
Will a laptop USB support enough power to run the USB miner without issues? I thought a powered hub is required most of the time with these stick miners, this could be an issue for him.

He should be fine unless he clock it too high. I think a usb 2.0 port can handle 500mA and a 3.0 900mA it was. It would have to be a pretty crappy mobo to have problem supplying this little.

Have to do the math base on the miner's spec but he should probably be fine. If he mine it off a laptop that is always on, and never go to sleep/hivernate, then sure, but that does not seem like a good setup.

Hi,

I'm planning a trip to Canada and possibly New York before the end of the year and since I'm moving back to New Zealand I want to pick up a couple rigs before moving back to the middle of nowhere.

Planning to be in Toronto in December.

Cheers,
thebonenz

Bitcoinware is a shop located in Toronto, i was told previously, by them, you can go and see them/do local pickup. http://bitcoinware.net/

The big caveat is their price is ridiculously high.

Thanks yeah I saw them but their prices are ridic!

So looking to meet up with a forum member to do a trade preferably.

I'd have to recommend setting up that deal with Valkir, thats probably the best you can do. Worse case scenario if your timing is right, you could have him ship domestic for a not too expensive quote if you would stay in Toronto for a few days.

Hopefully you can get the miners through custom without paying exorbitant prices.
2244  Other / Meta / Re: Activity Question on: November 10, 2015, 05:42:03 PM
You didn't get my point...

If we only get 14 of activity each 14 days, how the fuc* the other guy have 20 of activity with only 6 days since his sign up?

I already gave you the answer. He posted 14 times in a activity window of 14 days, then posted 6 time in the next one. Hard to give you more specific information without a link to that person's profile but the answer would remain the same.

Hey,

I sign up on 28 of october of 2015.
And i have 140+ posts and 14 activity.
And i just saw a member who have 20 posts - 20 of activity and sign up on 04 november of 2015.

How is that possible?

Thanks.

You can only get 14 Activity per 2 weeks... Activity is max 14 per 2 weeks. You need to post in average once a day. If you post in the next 2 week period, you will jump to 28 activity, as long as you post once per 2 weeks you can get the activity later.
2247  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Replacing a S5 that went bad in the same controller. Good or bad idea? on: November 10, 2015, 05:20:50 PM
When I've had problems in the past I've swapped parts without any ill effects in order to figure out what was the culprit.  This should be safe in most cases, unless there is something electrically unsound with some part of the hardware... So as with most things, nothing is 100% but just do things one at a time and in my experience you won't make things worse.

Turns out it work fine today. The fan reading on FAN2 enabled, even though it would not before, i'm wondering if its because FAN2 only read if there are 2 blades mining on the controller.

I also put the 16pins blade in the 18 pins controller with no problem. However the oldest 16 pins v1.1 boards does not handle 650GH/s, seem to cap out at 580~

Yes Fan2 will be controlled but only give an RPM reading if the second Blade is fitted. Good result on 16 Pin Blade 18 Pin Controller compatibility.

Rich

Yes, thank you for helping with the pinout. I had to saw off 2 pins(has to be the right one of course) off a 18 pins cable, to make it fail proof, i left the 2 empty pins on the 18 pin side, so i don't need to remember which side to put it on every times.

Just plug the 16 pin end into a 16 pin whatever and the 18 pin with only 16 pins connected in the 18 pin slot. A 18 pin blade might work in a 16 controller but i did not test.

I had issue with the custom long cables where their clamp that hold the connector in is larger than the stock one, so if you do this with the custom long cable going around you need to remove it.

I don't pay the electric bill and have money to buy more than 5 of the top brand ones.

With free electricity; Antminer S3, Antminer S5, Antminer S4, SP20, Antminer S2. Probably in that order.

If you get the Antminer S3 for cheap, they are still solid and easier to make quiet. Ant miner S5 are a good unit while still fairly efficient. Antminer S4 are a bit less so but the only thing you care is GH/$. Note that these are harder to make quiet, but not during winter. Then the SP20 which are good units but different. Then a S2 for 150-200$ could still be nice.

You also have the option to go for the Avalon6 or the S7, but it would be less cost effective for you.

Hi there. I'm buying *any* kind of asic miner. With escrow. I'm located in California USA.

I have located in Canada, québec, so maybe not, but still, i guess now is a good time to start looking for offers/ideas; I have two GAW Falcon i'm going to sell off soon, i doubt shipping them would be a good idea, but if you think of something, let me know. Their condition is "ok".

Am I missing something or no new hardware showed up? Undecided

Did you miss Antminer S7 batch 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6? 4-4.8TH/s@ 1000-1200w, Also the Avalon6 at 3~ths 0.3J/GH. And the Spoondoolies SP50 that are 110TH/s units.

2254  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S5 - Underclock - Undervolt - Best J/GH on: November 08, 2015, 09:16:51 PM
I've been asking and many don't reply, others "don't know", and the one seller who confirmed 1.91 sold out before I got my money. Keep digging I guess. Thanks. I'll update when I get something.

People are lazy, to get a reply i had to link a picture to where to get this information every time. (Top right corner of each PCB, under the bitmain logo + enter url here) then i got replies easily.

With the BTC price value going up however, i won't be undervolting these babies for a long time.
2255  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S5 - Underclock - Undervolt - Best J/GH on: November 08, 2015, 03:40:11 PM
I may have asked this and forgotten, but which "batch" did the v1.91 boards come from? I've got the capital to pick up another one to experiment with and I want to make sure I end up with the right one, given many eBay sellers don't know their board version numbers or haven't responded to my inquiries.

Mine came from the used batch, but any miners after a X date (listed somewhere in the thread) are v1.91. The problem is probably that at some point there was a mixed batch and also primarily the fact that they are also no longer for sale.

So your best bet might be to find sellers of the used hardware and ask them if their S5's has v1.91 PCBs.
2256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Approaching 24 hours and my sent bitcoins are not showing even on the blockchain on: November 08, 2015, 02:50:41 PM
The issue that the 0.4 BTC is already deducted from my main balance.

That would be the wallet keeping the transaction in its log, would be nice to know why it failed, but anyways, every (proper) wallet has a resync option for this. Its kind of a pain for people using Bitcoin core. Its not a very good wallet for every day uses imo.

2257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Approaching 24 hours and my sent bitcoins are not showing even on the blockchain on: November 08, 2015, 02:26:46 PM
Hello,

Yesterday, at 00:19, I've sent some bitcoins to one of my online wallets.

I use Bitcoin Core and I've used high fees (to begin confirmation of the transaction within 2 mined blocks).

Here are some details about the transaction :

Status: 0/unconfirmed
Date: 11/8/2015 00:19
To: 13Y5QidGQzG5QEgytZyQUvQbxDsxdLrLAj
Debit: -0.40000000 BTC
Transaction fee: -0.00028348 BTC
Net amount: -0.40028348 BTC
Transaction ID: 9e374c99f065b748bb30ae40c67555a5e0712f6d2b5e0f6a7b7992dc3a5e9856-000

Thanks for helping me in advance.

The TXID does not seem to exist and a transaction for .4BTC does not even exist for that address;
https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/13Y5QidGQzG5QEgytZyQUvQbxDsxdLrLAj

So i'm guessing the broadcast crapped out, not sure if you did a mistake or something but the transaction does not exist so you should be able to retry it already.
2258  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: rumors of 3.5Th antminer S7 "lite" on: November 08, 2015, 02:20:49 PM
I think this version could be some sort of sop to the 120V home market. The typical US 120V, 15 amp outlet can handle 12 amps max continuously. With a little tuning plus a decent power supply, this version can be a one electrical outlet/branch circuit miner.

Not really, the First format on the S7 almost was, since 1200watts is close to the 12A 110V limit. Meanwhile 1000watts on the 1440watts 80% safety margin on 120V is kind of awkward. Got to find something else to do with the 400watts.

The S4 is the one that was really fittingd as a one miner, one circuit miner 120v wise, the PSU is even rated to exactly 1440watts.
2259  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining dead ? on: November 08, 2015, 02:01:53 AM
Mining isn't dead. Mining for gaining profits for persons and small mining operations is close to death:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1209056.msg12913379#msg12913379

Every mining company let you believe the price is right so you can get ROI, but factors that are hard to understand for the most people (difficulty) and a factor that can't be predicted (BTC price), makes it unprofitable in the long run.

Well said, there are to many factors you can't predict

I think people just don't know what they are talking about. For example that post. Sure the S7, at least at 230$BTC price was ridiculously overpriced, and now its a bit disappointing that the last batch has less hashrate but the same price, but think about it;

If a current gen overpriced unit can ROI in 4 months. How fast you think you would ROI if you purchase the right hardware for you? A S5 can have twice the GH/$, in the post's case, this would be time to ROI in half, which seem pretty safe.

The S7's first batch were indeed icky because many people would not ROI before the halving, but not, it is not the case. As such mining is amazing now, at least for people that got hardware before it became so expensive Wink
2260  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Calculating HW error rate on Antminer C1 and strange ASIC Status on: November 08, 2015, 01:56:51 AM
Hello everyone. This is my first post so you can expect it to be pretty noob. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, or important here, but I can't seem to find the HW number anywhere on my Antminer C1. It's been running for a few days now and mostly everything seems to be fine. The first thing I'm wondering is, where can I find this number? There is an HW category strangely under Pool URLs that says 3. That can't be right can it? Is there some other formula I should be using to find the error rate? As far as I can tell, it should be HW/(diffA+diffR+HW)*100.

Second question is, What's up with the Asic Status? It looks like this:

00000000 00000000
00000000 00000000
00000000 00000000
 000000 00000000 0

The bottom row is missing one, and is organized strangely. No x's, just a missing 0, and strange spacing. Does this reflect something I should know about?

Thank you for any light you can shed on these issues for me.

0 mean chip is reporting, X mean the chip reporting wrong, but does not automatically mean that it is not working - mean it is not reporting. This at least i can answer.

Thank you so much. So this mean one chip is not reporting for some reason? And does that mean there is something wrong with that chip, or somewhere else? Screen -r answered my question about HW, so thank you for that. I appreciate the help and I'm really trying to understand what everything means.

ETA: M's Miner Monitor took me all of 2 minutes to setup and it works great. Thanks for that suggestion.

Cheers, you're welcome. MMM is being discontinued so the next thing i will look into is Cryptoglance's.

I don't know for the broken pattern but no chips report X or -. So i don't think there is really a problem, especially if the hashrate match. Maybe someone with first hand experience with the C1 could give more information?

Beside trying a power cycle i don't really have anything else to recommend trying.
