1421  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 11, 2016, 10:17:53 PM
I have lost all the funds that I mined from since I got my miners Sad
What could have caused this ?

Like ck said, just them having your password would not give them access to your wallet. They would actually need your wallet as well, which mean your computer would have to been compromised either with rdp or someone received your password AND your wallet with a malware that keylogged and stole your wallet file.

Kano.is have absolutely no way to access your wallet, this means it is on your end.
1422  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Miners (Antminer S1, S2, S3, S4, etc) on: January 11, 2016, 10:06:37 PM
I have (I think) three S1s, and three S3s. All of them have been running at stock, except for brief overclocking tinkering. PM me?

PM'd

I have a thread with the several kind of miners i sell;

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1306352.msg13377310#msg13377310 i would not mind selling the lot but i'm not sure shipping S4's are a good idea, but i suppose its not impossible. The rest is easy to ship.
1423  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: January 11, 2016, 10:01:51 PM
I'm thinking about selling my s5 and getting a S7 B9, but i really dont want to throw 1290 watts to the wall i have a 20a circuit Can i turn the Freq down from stock 700 Freq down to like 500 or so to get watts at the wall lower? I dont really care what it hashes at. Are there any numbers of what underclocking the Freq do to the watts at the wall i would like to be arount maybe 1000 to 1100 at the wall. Also if i turned down the freq will i get more errors? Thanks.

No, the S7 would not get more errors. At 700freq i get 1415w at 50% fan. I'm on a 15a circuit and that means its using all of it within safety limit. a 20a circuit would have no problem running this overclocked.
1424  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [ALL SOLD] 1100w Platinum (94%) server PSUs/breakout boards w/cables on: January 11, 2016, 01:47:24 AM
Sorry pikachuy  Tongue

Thanks for all the help/advice people, but I have found an alternate solution at http://holybitcoin.com/product/hp-1200-watt-common-slot-psu-bundle/

I think these are the low efficiency ones. About 86% bare at 50% load, so maybe 83% at full load. Something to keep in mind.

No, they're very efficient.

DPS1200FB 91.19% efficient at 100% load

DPS1200FB-1 93.21% efficiency at 100% load

Where did you get your figures from?

I had the part number 419613-001 for the 1200w;
http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/getpdf.aspx/c04286057.pdf

The 1200w one is about 85% efficient, must be a different serie.
1425  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Looking to buy 2-3 Antminer's! Escow is a must! on: January 10, 2016, 08:32:25 PM
Pm me for offers.

Escrow is a must. I feel comfortable with using  http://safepaybtc.com/

Thanks!

Nova

Which Antminer? There's S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S7 + variants. I have S1, S4 and S5 in Canada. But there is no way I or most users will accept to use a 3rd party website when we have a perfectly working method for Escrow on the forum.
1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else used to be a big blocker but changed his mind? on: January 10, 2016, 08:29:52 PM
I am a 1MB block supporter who feels 1MB is enough for many years to come. We have a network run on Raspberry Pi's and old laptops from the 90s, We need a stronger network and a stronger world wide web and a stronger Tor network; we need better mempool protocols to allow for rebroadcasting transactions with higher transaction fees and many other features but what we do not need is a larger block size. Bitcoin was never meant to be a free system, high transaction fees are the only way to secure the network from government manipulation and control.

Thats simply not the case, the tx rate per second is already close to the limit, not that there is any point into arguing blocksize however. Just pointing out your argument is factually wrong, even though it may or may not be "enough".

Through natural selection a small block size means higher transaction fee, culling out the useless tiny transactions.
1427  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Getting Started with small Budget on: January 10, 2016, 08:27:51 PM
I am little slow in Mathematics. So please check the link given given below:
Category: Domestic Consumer
http://www.qesco.com.pk/htmls/tariffs.html
And suggest me, it will be profitable for me to run S3. And one thing I forget to mention, I live in a region, great source of solar energy for my country (hot region).

Is that mexican pesos? 0.61 would be 0.04$~/kWh but the site is confusion and hint to other charges. So it could be more. If you have 0.04~/kWh then you'll have problem ROI a S3 as you would have a good electricity rate, but not that good.

You should probably call and ask them to explain. But note that the cost raise with consumption, so if you get a couples of S3, you would pay nearly double the kWh at which point you would be running these at loss.
1428  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Slower Mining with USB 2.0? on: January 10, 2016, 08:23:38 PM
Unless the USB 2 is faulty i dont think there should be a difference. As far as i understand it, the miner will be transferring minimal amounts of data, in comparsion to a USB 2.0 maximum capacity

Indeed, no difference. Previous comment is incorrect. Some stick actually don't work as well on USB 3.0, but it would be a driver/software issue that simply prevent you from running the thing.

Otherwise there is no difference between USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 for this.
1429  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: January 10, 2016, 08:18:27 PM
same another payment is missed, what's going on here? i still need to receive the full payment from the last 3 weeks time plus this new week

Same, i was at over 300 posts(for the 3 weeks period of non-payment), got paid 100 posts when Bitcoinboy onlined the new bot. Now my latest payout has been overdue for about 2 days and i'm reaching 150 posts again. so 350 posts overdue~ right now.

Marco said he was paying out some people manually that were affected by the limit but i did not see anything personally, yet.
1430  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 10, 2016, 08:13:28 PM
I was mining at Nicehash and decided to switch my little farm over to Kano's pool .... At Nicehash it was recommended to use the extranonce subscription by using #xnsub

Honestly, I have no clue what an extranonce is or what #xnsub does, but I was using it.

I still have that #xnsub at the end of the URL for Kano's pool ( stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333#xnsub ) , thinking that if it was doing "whatever" better at Nicehash, maybe it would help at Kano's.

So my question is === Does that #xnsub parameter help or hurt here at Kano's?

The nonce support for Kano is stratum+tcp://nonce.kano.is:27181

You really don't need it unless you have certain icky miners on icky controllers like the AsicMiner Tubes/Prisma. Not sure if there are other miners whom need it.
1431  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S7+ somewho knows anything? on: January 10, 2016, 08:10:59 PM
Hi, I was reading some time ago about Bitmain was thinking to release latelly this month a new version of the s7, called s7+, but i saw that the s7 changed the design from 162 chips to 135 chips with a voltage regulator (i think).
What do you think? The S7+ is the actual S7 new design or they will release something better? Is that why they lowered the S7's price at the B9?

PS: I love speculate  Tongue

Dunno, you read about a S7+ where? I would not be surprised if they released a monster, but i'm warry of Bitmain right now, considering we're seeing several problems with the S7, like issues that we had with the S5. (Stuff burning down when internet connection is lost)
1432  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon 6 Vs Antminer S7, which one you will choose? on: January 10, 2016, 08:08:43 PM
I prefer Antminer s7 on Avalon 6.
The new Antminer S7 Plus is much more efficient.

There's not a S7+ version, am i misunderstanding?

And now the latest batches of S7's have the same efficiency as the Avalon6, so not the only reason to stick with S7 is the GH/$, since the Avalon6 has a much better build quality.

The avalon 6 comes at 3.5th/s (thats hoping you have a warm room since they run lower in the cold) and the S7 is 4.8th/s. You can get the S7 plus shipping below $1100 currently. You can ONLY get the Avalon for $1112 in the current group buy and living in the US.

The better deal is the S7. People assumed the Avalon 6 would be able to flex by changing the volts but has not been the case at all.

I'm getting some some used A6, it came down a bit more expensive than S7 B9 per GH, but i will get them 2 weeks before, which will get me 14.5% to ROI. Getting them "now" will actually bridge the gap between A6 (getting them NOW) and S7, getting them in 2 to 3 maybe 4 weeks.

The time when you get the miners is important too.
1433  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Any suggestions on bitcoin mining on: January 10, 2016, 11:32:55 AM
i need a suggestion on btc mining. what is good? own mining hardware or cloud mining? thanks in advance

It all depend on your location, budget and electricity price. The most important thing is your electricity rate per kWh. What is it?
1434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Request to REVERT the removal of Coinbase.com is IGNORED. on: January 10, 2016, 10:43:07 AM
Why do they want to remove the Coinbase site from bitcoin.org?

They already removed it. They did so because they gave a try to BitcoinXT, and bitcoin.org admins are anti-BitcoinXT.

I think its silly to remove it, but what does it matter? I use it now, i will still use it tomorrow. Beside being less publicity for Coinbase, i don't see what its going to achieve?
1435  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS - 25 Antminer S5's hosted on: January 10, 2016, 10:32:45 AM

If I am talking about the case of the 75$ CAD hosting fee. It let me around 20$ CAD per month, and so 15$ USD. That's not really high, and I may never see any ROI. And after the halving, I will even lose money.

It would be 75CAD Per kW Per month. A S5 is not 1kW, its 580watts. So no its not 95CAD-75CAD=20CAD=15$. The previous user's math was correct.
1436  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Getting Started with small Budget on: January 10, 2016, 10:07:36 AM

maybe in the past, this is not true anymore, even the best one is on par with bitcoin, the only good thing about mining them is the fact that you can use your gpu, an dbe profitable like with an asic in bitcoin

What king of GPU? mean dedicated graphics cards in laptops? or I have also seen people running linux on Play Station 4 for mining? So how i could get my hand dirty with GPU? in which way, which kind?

Um, no, you can't.

If you do have electricity that cheap, then a cheap ASIC is still the way to go. You still haven't said what your electricity rate is, did you?
1437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Request to REVERT the removal of Coinbase.com is IGNORED. on: January 10, 2016, 10:01:22 AM
GitHub request to REVERT the removal of CoinBase.com is met with overwhelming support (95%) and yet completely IGNORED.

a funny way of "consensus"   Roll Eyes

I must of missed part of the story. Remove Coinbase from what?
1438  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: January 10, 2016, 06:01:45 AM
All EVGA PSU's for me.  Running 1300's on most of the batch 1 and 5, while batch 8 went with dual PSU setup EVGA supernova 1000 on two boards and EVGA 850 on board/controllers.

I see, in that case, its really too bad, hard to blame it on your setup then. I guess a couples of S7 batches are really just plain bad. Lets hope my S7 B8 hold out. Only have one so its pretty much all or nothing.
1439  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Silencing Antminer S5 on: January 10, 2016, 05:17:07 AM
Yes please post a video of a before and after.

I think the best way to silence these S5 is to add a second fan and undervolt them.

I'm using this;
http://pacwestsystems.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Alcor-Sonopan-Acoustical-Panel.pdf

Just a two open ended rectangle of these covering 200 degree of the miner makes the S7 at 3500RPM quieter than the S5 at 2600RPM.

WHere do you buy that in Canada?

Home depot. Its pretty common, i'm expecting to be able to find some at Rona, too. There's most likely other places but i did not ask where he bought the panels originally. I just got left overs.
1440  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Avalon6 3.5 TH/s miners for sale on: January 10, 2016, 05:13:31 AM
Closed a deal with pyandy for 2 units and a controller kit. Funds are in Escrow. Due to ship monday.

Thanks for dealing with me even thought i'm in Canada. Smiley

Im surprised you didn't buy it from the other seller in your province. He was selling the exact same thing.

I offered him group buy price + 100$ premium for being domestically located, but he was not happy with that. I think he wants to sell them for 1500$ or something. He just ignored me when i told him repeatedly that was my offer.
