1621  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: December 31, 2015, 03:01:28 AM
Got some "invalid" on some older miner i added to the pool today.

Took a small screengrab of it :

https://i.imgur.com/dErIGTP.jpg

The S7 is on 0,1% , but both old KNC have more invalid, one of the antique avalon also has quite a lot invalids, 0,816%

What are thoose invalids ?
What are normal ?

Is it possible for a miner to send back garbage data with somewhat correct checksums so that a pool doesnt find the block becouse of junk data that gets into the system ?

Rejects happen. My invalid % (0.5%) is pretty close to my rejected (0.45%) you can see on the miner side. Such a low amount seem pretty normal to me. It should be mostly shares submitted that become invalid/stale because they were submitted/received too late.
1622  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want the s-7 but only have 120 volt power here is a good deal at newegg. on: December 31, 2015, 02:55:45 AM
Yeah This is great.  the evga series g2 is awesome.  go check out johny guru reviews for psu's and you'll see why.  I wish I had done this.  Instead I bought a 1600w evga, which was more expensive.  On the other hand, it has a 10 year warranty and I can use it for anything I need to.  worst case scenario it would be an overpowered psu for my computer.  then I would have to buy massive video cards to justify the psu....poor wallet.

You'd need something like quad dual GPU to use that mush power, even though efficiency wise it would be best to run the PSU at 50~70% ^_^".

My irk with the 1600 G2 is that a 1300 G2 cap out a 120v15a breaker, so the upside of the 1600G2 is that it would be slightly more efficient, though a 1300 P2 would be better and cheaper. The problem is that the 1300 P2 does not exist, there is only a 1200 P2.

Its like the whole thing is rigged from the start to milk as much money as possible from us, even though we're being milked by different sources. :S

If you do that, maybe get one 750w for the one that will power the controllers+fan. But honestly that is a lot of PSU space next to one Small S7.
1623  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain give false? on: December 31, 2015, 02:51:20 AM
Price of import = sale price of items (or fair value) + shipping ACTUAL cost. The amount you were charged for shipping was possibly less than it actually cost to ship, meaning the declared value comes out higher. + exchange variations.
That's a lie. You are to be charged on the value you PAID for. You cannot be taxed anywhere in the world for something you didn't pay, regardless of the company eating the shipping price or not. And Bitmain doesn't decrease the actual shipping price. If anything they increase it.

Well, they don't steal anything, they don't get anything more from this, so yeah they often mess up the value on things, i'm not sure why, but its a pain to deal with the rectifying the price declared.
They get 17% from chinese government out of everything they export, or what they say they do.

I,m pretty sure taxes work the other way around. The more money they get from people, the more tax they need to pay, which would translate into being a income loss if you declare higher gain than you did gain and better gain if you declare same or less than what you gained.

Maybe China works differently than what i can imagine.

This is a scammer. Dont buy from this guy!

OP is buying, not selling. How could he be selling scammy tickets? Be careful of who your point fingers at. You may scare off unaware users from potentially doing a legit trade with OP because you have strife with someone that is not OP.

If you have proof of anyone scamming you, please show it to me and post it in the Scam Accusation board. Smiley

Sorry I  meant "bitcoinntelectronics.net" is a scammer.

Do you have proof, or you just don't trust the guy. I understand if its the later, but if its the former, you should let everyone knows.

As posted above!

You got the calculator in the up & right part

I also use kano! Best pool! Grin
https://www.kano.is/index.php?k=pblocks
All - Last 406 Blocks   66.7wks   100.6%   98.04%   97.78%   0.3323   102.27%

Good luck!

This one is better;

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator

However you need to set more variable before it will spit out proper data back. The first thing to change is the difficulty increase, maybe try 8~10% instead of 20%.

Dont over clock to far for to long i know a guy locally that fried 26 s7 miners overclocked to 900m ouch!

900MHz?! How much voltage was he pumping into them, 14v or so? Damn. I'm happy with overclocking mine to 750MHz / 6Th/s.

I'd love to see the data on that for sure. I'm not syre why 26 S7 would suddenly fry after being stable and its not like he applied a super overclock to all S7 at the same time and they all went boom?

I think to stand of chance to at least get the money one invests into these the miners would have to sell for $50 a piece. This does not even factor in shipping costs which will likely totally kill the deal for some.

With an expected 20$ worth of BTC income per month in a month at the current difficulty raise, these become hard/slow to ROI. Even with 0.06$/kWh electricity, these currently can't ROI before the halving, at which point they never will. Its sad to see these Tanks join the rank of the S1's.

Hi Miners.

first... GREAT forum
soo much info. Smiley

I had the chance to by a cheap almost new Antminer S7 from a friend
so i did..

i started up the miner on dec 24
I was thinking that i am going to learn as time went

LOL....!

I think i am getting it now.. slowly.. hehe
but every time i am looking for 1 answer i get 2 new questions..!
So surfing around in here like crazy.

I joined Bitcoin.cz and hit 0.1 btc in 6 days..!
so i need to ask:
 is that okay..?
Or is it totally bad.?
I joined Antpool today and i am going to run it for 6 days also

(sorry for my bad spelling i am from Denmark)

You can use this calculator for short term BTC revenue estimate;
http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator

0.1BTC in 6 days is okay, since normalization take times.

I recommend checking out this pool;

Kano.is

Higher variance, but better pool performance.
1630  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain give false? on: December 30, 2015, 09:12:41 PM
for my English I help with google translator, I am sorry,

I'm pissed off because I do not understand why he said more than they cost,

I get 492.75 if I order today.

so that is about 40 usd wrong.  they should give you a $50 or 75$ coupon.

but they are not a thief .

Also, shipping costs are not supposed to be included in the value of the item. You can ship a box full of rocks that is going to be worth 1cent, shipping 100$, the value to be declared is 1cent.

Still i do not understand either way, how Bitmain come up with their reported value.

USA law varies  State to State.  In New Jersey  If I sold the 3 psu's and shipped them and my out of pocket was the 492 I would have to collect sales tax and give it to the state.  sales tax is 7%  so I would charge 7% of 492 = 34.30 usd so the buyer would owe 492 + 34.30 or 536.30

This would be for a sale completely inside NJ.

Bitmain is doing a China to Italy sale..  I have no idea how they are tasked to report it.  But 492 would not be far off in some places.

So is 533 really far off Based on Chinese and Italian laws and treaties along with European vat. I do not know.

You need someone that knows all the laws involved since I know some places take the shipping into account for tax purposes.

Right, and i was basing my statement on my personal experience when dealing with import to Québec from China, as i've had to complain a few times as they messed up the amount. I did not have to pay import tax for services, but i've had varying experience with this depending on which shipping company i dealt with. (FedEx being by far the worse)

Time to revive my main buy thread;

I'm interested in buying;
Willing to pay the "ship now" Bitmain's GH/$

-Antminer S7
-Antminer S7 Coupon

-Avalon6

-High end GS/GQ/G2/P2/T2 EVGA PSU or equivalent top quality.

I am interested in international purchase
However if the units are already in Canada, i can pay a little more, since i will not have to pay for import.

If you have any of these, please reply here or PM an offer and i will respond depending on the current budget.

And I already got the answer from

I don't care. Buy from someone else. I agree to use Escrow under my terms and who I chose, that's my right, and you're still complaining?

Actually, i accepted your terms and you canceled our trade at the last minute, after i acquired the BTC you wanted. I then offered to pay you more, even though you had already agreed and you replied with "Oh i'm selling them to someone else."

I then replied "I understand why people are leaving you red trust now."

And you then threatened to leave me Red trust, while i absolutely had no interest in creating a red feedback. So i left you a neutral feedback.

You may not be a scammer, but you sure act exactly like one.

Only reason I left him a negative because I was following a couple of his locked threads and nothing really changed. It was fishy because nobody could call him out since all the threads were locked.

If you want to establish yourself as a trader here you should be willing to post pictures publicly and be a straight shooter.

But since I'm blocked this post will probably not matter.

You likely should just leave a neutral trust rating. In the event that you have no proof that a user is scamming people or causing "harm" to others, you should leave neutral trust.

While he may act shady that does not immediately warrant negative trust.

I would leave negative trust on this member if there were any kind of scam accusations or other things circulating here. The user refusing certain escrows but agreeing to others is not ideal but it could be worse.

Allegedly so, if there was proof that these deals actually went through, it may warrant him a bit of credibility, but i have yet to see even reports from untrusted members that any deal with this user went through.

All i know is that several member which i do trust had a similar experience with this user as me.

I am in Canada.

I have bought a S5 through your website and i received it. Its been hashing great since then. It actually has the best performance and best temps, for some unknown reasons.

Anyhow, i am not sure how interested you are in doing an a small trade on "Metal Bracket - $5" i'm assuming thats the black metal bracket that you bolt into the heatsink and that hold the controller in place at one end of the miner to plug the ethernet port in?

Also while i am interested in S7's, i think the price is too rich to have it exported a second time, sadly.
1634  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to beat Centralisation on: December 30, 2015, 08:47:11 PM

For a kickoff, 28nm isn't outdated, it's serving Bitmain very well and from the look of the current 16nm solutions they are expensive white elephants. Experience is a relative word, so far all the 16nm solutions have totally failed to meet their performance targets, as did a lot of the 28nm ones. A good custom 28nm design can easily match a cell based one in both pipelines/sq mm and J per GH/sec, and the silicon costs a lot less plus the process is a lot more mature and manufacturable.

If your ASIC was available Today this would be a reasonable statement. However as it is just an idea, and in reality even if funding was available now would take at least 12 Months to develop, it is not an unreasonable assumption that your full custom 28nm will be looking very dated by the time it arrives.

I do not see any evidence that 14/ 16nm has failed? Yes we are only just seeing the impact but Spondoolies, Bitfury & BW plus Bitmain when they are ready will I am sure, particularly after the halving, show that this technology is essential if you want to compete.

Quote

Also, if the project happened it would have awful lot on people supporting it who had an interest in making it happen - that makes solving problems a lot easier.

Out of interest, what solution would you propose? Or is it just too much effort to try looking for one?

A solution is only required if you think there is a problem to solve? Yes it's tough as a home Miner but who says that there has to be home mining? In practice communities such as this do a great job in helping eachother, solving problems, improving efficiencies etc. Home Mining will survive but it will not compete with the Big Boys.

Even if your idea was to come to fruition it would just create another Group with a Farm owned by relatively few people who would only be interested in getting a return on their investment. The true Home miner would be left exactly where he is Today.

Rich

The hashrate of the full network has almost doubled in 2 months, this is not the work of Bitmain's full custom 28nm. So its hard to say that 28nm is being very successful either.

For home mining, the only thing that could help people mine with expensive electricity rate, is heavy over/down volt capability. If you take the Outdatedish S5 chip and you allow people to undervolt to the max, you actually increase the lifetime of the software for small miner, which helps and people with cheaper electricity can overvolt instead.

For example, imagine innate ability to run the BM1384 (Antminer S5) to 0.3J/GH? It would be able to live into the "S7 Phase" no problem, at a hashrate loss. While people with cheaper electricity might run it at 0.65J/GH to get something close to 2TH/s?

For bits and reasons, i think the only way to see this happen is if "we" managed to obtain a batch of current gen chips and have Sidehack roll out full boards.

And the only way to make this happen is to crowdfund a batch.

Yeah... Thread title needs to be updated. S7 is no longer 4.86TH/s or 0.25J/GH.

Should read:

ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.73TH/s, 0.30J/GH

Since bitcointalk is not accessible from mainland China due to the GFW, could a mod update the title? I'm sure bitmain would in the pursuit of honesty, but they simply can't due to circumstances.   Smiley

The last two I bought arrived with 1 dead board each.  Maybe the title should read 3.1TH/s, 0.3J/GH?   Cheesy

Heh, sounds about right. My B8 had a board die within a week, so also running at ~3.1TH/s right now.

That's pretty bad. Whats the delay and protocol here? You send back the black to Bitmain at your costs, then receive a blade within what delay? And then do you get compensated?
1637  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain give false? on: December 30, 2015, 08:19:29 PM
excuse, if I paid $ 430 including shipping,
because he said 533.94?

you know that the more the price is high the more you pay customs?

but you're in love with bitmain all here?
always defend him? even with the evidence?
I like you steal

You need to work on your English, i believe you are completely misunderstanding here and also using the wrong words.

Steal mean taking someone else's property. Which means by definition that Bitmain would need to gain the value of those taxes by lying about the value. They are not actually getting that amount, therefore its not theft.

However i am agreeing with you that their practices, bookkeeping and communication is horrible.

What more do you want?
1638  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain give false? on: December 30, 2015, 08:04:26 PM
Well, they don't steal anything, they don't get anything more from this, so yeah they often mess up the value on things, i'm not sure why, but its a pain to deal with the rectifying the price declared.
1639  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Corsair SP120 to push air in and SF120 to exhaust Antminer S5? on: December 30, 2015, 11:55:15 AM
. I'd recommend you just use the fan speed control on the stock fan.

You can set fan speed to minimum ~20% on the stock fan and i suspect depending on your ambiant that your temps will be too high. However thats still better cooling performance than the SP120.

How can I control the stock fan's speed?

Go here;
https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720150101032800325X8cMcY2y068F

Get;
SD-S5-20150715-fan_ctrl.tar.gz

Go to the miner webui and go to upgrade, target the tar.gz, dont extract it.

Then where the beep at 80c check box was you'll have set fan speed %. Minimum RPM is 2400-2600 however, on the stock S5 fan, which is still loud but still a few times quieter.
Worth the upgrade even if you plan on changing the fans.
1640  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you get free electricity and can afford a miner... on: December 30, 2015, 10:51:51 AM
Will be upgrading to higher miner after. I meant to say I was paying 250 for miner and power supply in one.  I don't gamble, also, I should also say.

Saving a lot of what I make to buy an Antminer S4 or S7 when it comes down in price, or a no-scam deal is found.

Well, still ouch. Can get a server PSU for 20-30$. Or a good ATX PSU for 60$. I'm not sure why you paid 250$ thats enough for 2 S3+PSU.

Trading is gambling, unless you're margin trading.
