2281  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum 4.1.0 released - Feature discussion on: April 01, 2021, 10:59:50 PM
I just learned that Electrum has released a new version, 4.1.0.  I read through the release notes, and it seems like most of the updates are related to Lightning Network.  This is good news.  Electrum is probably the most popular bitcoin wallet around, and as it become more and more user-friendly for lightning features it'll help the network gain more usage.

I do, however have a question about this update that does not appear to be tied to the Lightning Network:

Quote
* The wallet creation wizard no longer asks for a seed type, and
creates segwit wallets with bech32 addresses. Older seed types can
still be created with the command line.

I haven't had a chance to download and play with the new version, so I'm not sure what this is getting at.  Does this mean that Electrum will no longer produce "Electrum Specific" seed phrases with derivation paths specified by the checksums?
2282  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MYCRYPTOMIXER SCAM! 13 BTC LOST USING HIS MIXER on: April 01, 2021, 09:11:05 PM
If its a human right, why would the police or a financial institution not allow him to possess such funds in such a situation without proving its origin?

You're a fucking moron, and this sentence proves it.  It's the authorities responsibility to provide proof the funds were obtained nefariously.  You're lowering the average IQ of the forum, and I feel stupider for reading your trolling bullshit.  Now, please get the fuck out of here.

I checked the PGP.

What do you mean by this?  You claim you don't have the letter of guarantee, but you have to download it before you can check if for a valid signature.  Did you or did you not check the signature of the letter?

MCM gives the user a very powerful tool in form of Letter of Guarantee. It is indisputable.

The only "power" the letter offers is proof that the address belongs to the anonymous service.  It doesn't guarantee that you aren't a scammer.

There is no log. Not only because the logs are not stored or the information were deleted. There is no log because the transaction was never tracked by MCM. MCM tracks only the transactions belonging to its own addresses.

Quit beating around the bush, nobody cares about the "ownership" of the address.  Maybe it belongs to MCM, or maybe it belongs to you personally.  Stop trying to hide behind the semantics.  The question is a simple one with a "yes" or "no" answer:  Did you or did you not receive a transaction for 13BTC on or around the date and time the OP's txid?

Had the funds landed in one of MCMs addresses and were not processed for any reason, I would contact you asking for a message signed with sender address describing where the funds should be sent. They have not.

If this were to have happened, how you would you have contacted the user?  Contact information isn't requested by your service.

The rest of the story matches what would have happened if you sent the funds to a malicious website. You should ALWAYS verify the LoG - not only download but also verify against the PGP key. The malicious websites oftentimes give you the LoG with the deposit address changed. Looks the same and is still signed by MCM, but the signature is invalid.

Wait, what?  That's contradictory.  How could it be signed by your service with an invalid signature?  This sounds like a convenient excuse to deflect the blame.

This is one of the weirdest scam accusations I've seen here.  Both the OP and MyCryptoMixer seem to contradict themselves, and getting a strait answer from either seems impossible.

I spent my wad on DarkStar_'s NFT, now I'm broke.  All my BTC gone, just like that.  I got so tied up in the craze myself that I forgot the kids have to eat.  So, DarkStar_ is back on the market, along with my NFTs, someone please help me, I need to feed the children.

Like others, I'm wondering why those accounts got temp-banned while many other have not.  It appears that none of the accounts I listed in the OP have received a ban, but they're all guilty of shilling and trolling.  It makes me think there's something connecting these accounts that was apparent to the mods or admin.  If that is the case I'm curious how these accounts were connected, but not the ones mentioned in the OP.

I suppose they all could have received temp-bans coincidentally without necessarily being connected to one another, but that seems unlikely.  I fear we may never know the reasons or justification behind the bans.

Probably another one Lavander

Making comments such as this:

Deposited 100 mBTC and make a withdrawal for 127 mbtc, received in about 3 hours.
After the successful bets, I will make a deposit again and see if I can get some money.

What about the withdrawal fees? Did you have to pay the fee or was it covered by Adkinsbet?
\

No I did not had to pay eny fee. I had a balance of 127 mbtc and withdrew the entire balance and received the complete 127 mbtc.
the fee for the blockchain was paid by adkinsbet

...makes him a painfully obvious shill.  Unless, of course, AdkinsBET is giving away free money.  Roll Eyes

Do you think we will see 4 QBs picked with the first 4 draft picks? Atlanta is picking fourth and Matt Ryan is the most expensive QB this year and they are going through a rebuild anyway so it could be a good time to pick his replacement.

I doubt it.  I'm even doubting that the Jets will draft a QB at #2, they have Sam Darnold, who's young and looks like he'll have a promising career.  It wouldn't make financial sense for the Jets to have two high-draft QBs on their roster.  If I was in the Jets position I would trade down and grab as many bargains as I can.  Build up the offensive line and add some depth.  If the Jets don't trade down I suspect Robert Salah will draft a break-out WR or TE.  That would be the smart thing to do.

Matt Ryan is aging, and I can see the Falcons wanting to plan for the future QB, so they may take a QB at #4.  But again, I think they have other pressing needs like an entire pass-defense, lol.

There are so many good QBs in this year's draft some are bound to fall to the lower first round, and many will be bargains in the latter rounds.  That's another reason I believe the 9ers have Wilson in mind with the trade they made.  It really wouldn't make sense for any of the others, including Lawrence, in my opinion.

Historically and statistically speaking a QB is the worst player to draft with the first over-all pick, or any high draft pick.  Tom Brady just put the nail in the coffin for first-round QB draftees.  It'll be decades before anyone can match his accomplishments and it's no guarantee that the one who does will have been a high draft-pick, or even a first-rounder.  The position requires so many intangible attributes to be successful.  Speed, athleticism, and intelligence are the easy metrics to assess, which is why more highly drafted wide receivers enjoy successful NFL careers than highly drafted QBs.  There's so much more that goes into being a good QB, and many of those attributes have yet to be defined, let alone metered.

Think about the best QBs in the league right now; Aaron Rodgers should have been picked fist by the 49ers, but that fumbling dumbass Mike Nolan chose Alex Smith instead.  Brady was a sixth round pick, selected to carry water for the practice squad.  Mahomes was passed up by nine teams before KC chose him, and Trubisky was selected before him.  There's no rhyme or reason for it.  If you take (arguably) the two best QBs to ever play the game; Montana and Brady try to mimic what Walsh and Belichick did to make those choices...  Where would you start?  Both coaches reputedly said that it was dumb luck.
2287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 29, 2021, 07:32:52 AM
If I remember correctly, Jimmy G as a no-trade clause in his current contract with the 49ers.

I don't know about that.  There's been plenty of talk of trading him, so I doubt that's the case.

Assuming the 49ers really are going to draft a QB I would keep Garoppolo until his contract expires after the 2022 season.  Draft a rookie and let him play under Garoppolo, next year maybe he competes for the starting job.  The 9ers' salary cap space is in decent shape, so there's no financial need to get rid of Garoppolo. He's been a good QB when he's healthy, and I really don't see a better option on the market.  A bird in hand.

Quote
#Patriots are not pursuing #49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo, per sources. Cap space isn’t there and obviously Cam Newton will return. Additionally, the draft is flush with QBs. No Jimmy GQ reunion for the Pats in foreseeable future.— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) March 28, 2021

I don't see the Patriots pursuing Garoppolo, not right now.  Things may change before the season begins, and wouldn't count out a late off-season trade.  But if things remain as they are today I think the Pats are better off drafting a prospect and keeping an affordable veteran on the roster for the next couple of years.
2288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 29, 2021, 01:02:12 AM
@DireWolfM14

Which QB will the 49ers draft at No. 3? Do you have any preference between Justin Fields, Mac Jones, or maybe even Trey Lance?... and what are you doing to do with Garoppolo, trade him to the Patriots?  Grin

Actually, I'm thinking it might be Zack Wilson.  Robert Salah (our former DC) has the number 2 pick with his new team, the Jets. Maybe ShanaLynch have some inside knowledge about Salah's plans.  That was an expensive trade, so I'm sure they're eying a quarterback.  If the Jets do take Wilson at #2, I like Lance but I HIGHLY doubt that Shanahan and Lynch would make such an expensive trade for anyone south of Wilson.

I hope it is Wilson, I link him better than Trevor Lawrence.  That would make up for the last 16 years of bitterness for not drafting Rodgers.

2291  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: rezor Suite- highly recommended on: March 27, 2021, 05:25:18 PM
If you want a nice looking and easy to use interface, then go for it, but if you want to have any real control over your keys and addresses, then Electrum is the way to go.

Lol, it does look nice, but that's about about as deep as it goes.  Electrum FTW.

There's no reason Trezor couldn't introduce all these features and just hide them behind a "Show advanced options" tick box somewhere to keep the basic interface cleaner for less technical users.

I agree with that, but to what end?  Don't get me wrong, coin controls are a must for privacy and safety, and it is disappointing that Trezor doesn't include the features in their software.  But I think from their marketing perspective, their goal is to attract as many new users as possible.  Their target audience are those who are likely uninitiated in crypto, and less technical overall.  They probably concluded that what's best for business is a simple, clean interface without a lot of technical options destined to keep their customer service personnel working overtime.

And lets face it, they'll never include a command line interface, encryption/verification capabilities, network/proxy controls...  Even if they added coin controls (which again, I believe they should) I would probably still use Electrum.  Those of us who are more technically capable already have plenty of tools at our disposal, and I think Trezor's marketing department knows that.
2292  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: rezor Suite- highly recommended on: March 27, 2021, 04:11:44 PM
That said...any negatives as to why I should NOT be using this app?  I'm not smart enough to know those kinds of things.. Thanks!

I've played with it a few times, and I agree it's better than the browser app wallet.  The added control is definitely an improvement.  I like that you can have multiple accounts open at the same time, you can connect through Tor, and the RBF feature is a big improvement.  I don't keep a lot of alt coins, but I like it better for ETH than MEW.

There's no coin control, and little control over addresses.  If you want to label your accounts or addresses you have to set up an account on DropBox, which I don't like at all.  I still prefer to use Electrum for accessing my bitcoin.

It's definitely user friendly, and I think that's Trezor's goal with it.  The lack of advanced controls is probably intentional to some extent to keep the software easy to use.  It does provide the basics, including updates to the hardware wallet's firmware.
2293  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: sportsbet.io Account with balance unfairly closed + Support ignoring emails. on: March 26, 2021, 08:55:29 PM
This situation has already been cleaned up.. user was paid, happy ending.

Happy endings are nice.  Glad to see you guys taking care of these issues.

I appreciate the attention of other sportsbooks for sure, it is really flattering.
But if i had 5 outstanding scam accusations on my bitcointalk history (old thread that was shut down), id be careful stepping into someone elses $100 issue myself.

But that's the whole point, deflecting attention from their own accusations.  The more ancient threads they dig up about sportsbet the more people will flock to their scam site, right?  Isn't that how it works?  Roll Eyes

OP I told you to be patient, please you can now lock the thread to avoid trollers spamming here

Or leave it unlocked.  I'm curious to see how many times the AdkinsBET shills bump this thread while completely failing to recognize that the issue has been resolved.

These are the eight teams for the first season that have been official announced:
Frankfurt Galaxy
Hamburg Sea Devils
Stuttgart Scorpions
Barcelona Dragons
Wroclaw Panthers
Berlin Thunder
Cologne Centurions

That's very interesting.  Most of those teams share names with teams from the defunct NFL Europa.

Amsterdam Admirals
Barcelona Dragons
Berlin Thunder
Cologne Centurions
Frankfurt Galaxy
Hamburg Sea Devils
London/England Monarchs
Rhein Fire
Scottish Claymores

I imagine there's some connection to the old league, the NFL is usually pretty stingy about naming rights.  Also interesting that six of the eight teams are from Germany, which is also reflective of the old NFL Europe league.  I know football is popular there, so maybe this league has a chance to succeed.

Tomorrow Bukowskis deliver asset appraisal for baseline reference to investors, creditors, speculators.

Or not!  Roll Eyes

What's wrong with those art dealers?  They sell Cyberpunks and my kid could draw better digital art when he was 10.  One would think they would trip over themselves trying to sell our masterpieces.  Just think of the commissions they're missing out on.

Oh please, please Mr. Bukowski, don't you want to hang my $892m NFT in your Golden Horn?

Either outcome will finally put an end to this fumbling and potential time waste.

One can only hope.

I missed it today, but lucky I got in on the Turkey Netherlands bust.  Cheesy

I was pissed that I didn't get in on Spain/Greece, I thought Spain would really rack up the score.  Turkey plays Norway on Saturday, maybe that's another chance wo win or bust.

Come on, I'm almost as smart as a 5th grader, you can't fool me with fake links.

I must need to get back to elementary school.  Undecided

Fist I pulled his finger, then I got rickrolled.

One of these has the last-most recent post from way back in 2017, cheez-it christ...

Lazy attempt of a smokescreen, that's what I'd say...

Lol that's a bunch of necro-posting, that for sure.  I just reported all the necro-posts, we'll see if that forces the mods to look into this shit.  If mods can confirm that all the accounts listed in the op are using the same IP, they should all be banned.

On the first wallet I open a channel with a LN node depositing 5mTBTC. On the second wallet I open a channel with the same LN node depositing again, 5mTBTC. I generate a LN invoice from the first wallet and enter it on the address' input field of the second wallet. I enter 2mTBTC and I click "Pay". This is what I get:

You need to open up some incoming capacity in one of the wallets.  On the "Channels" tab click on the swap button.  Send some (or all) of your lightning funds back to on-chain BTC.  That will open up some capacity for you to receive incoming lightning transactions in that wallet.

A sob stories has no place in a good resumé.  If you are truly looking for work I suggest you post a list of your skills and your accomplishments.  It helps to include examples of previous work.
