2421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Currency Game on: March 07, 2022, 08:21:55 AM
Crypto currency game is a game plays by two or more players, and the means and Objects (Items) of the game are own by the individual players, that makes the game decentralized game.

The game is different from the traditional game in which the programmer ( the producer) own the products (items) and give it to the players.

I am not sure which game you are referring to. You write of a programmer/producer that owns the game and let's players play the game. That sounds like a normal crypto casinos operating online. They provide the platform and games for the gamblers. Its not decentralised, the games are all operated by the casino because they usually take the opposite site of the games.
A game were the player owns the game I haven't heard before. It there are exact rules for it than there might be a game theory approach to it. Two individuals playing should be fair odds between them.

Maybe move this in the gambling discussion section
2422  Economy / Economics / Re: Fuel prices hitting an eight year high on: March 06, 2022, 09:01:04 AM
The rising fuel prices really make me worry. It was to be expected that a new major conflict is going to make the energy prices soar, but at the rate we are seeing right now is alarming. The gas stations seem to change their prices two times a day. What is very surprising right now is that Diesel prices are even more expensive than normal fuel. Diesel was usually cheaper than other fuel types, but since Russia is a big exporter for Diesel that doesn't hold true anymore.
The big issue with rising fuel prices is that we already have high inflation rates last year. Food prices are rising, construction materials are at an all time high, and now fuel and energy prices are following. If this continues than we could face a inflation spiral that will increase all other prices too. Once all the consumer prices reach new all time highs, wages have to rise also. I wonder how the politicians are going to solve that dilemma.
2423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying with Bitcoin where there's rush on: March 06, 2022, 07:33:01 AM

This made me thoughtful. What happens when you want to pay with Bitcoin where there's rush, say a long queue of people which happens to be the case pretty often at supermarkets? On-chain is definitely not an option as you want from the transaction to take few seconds, so the next customer can push their products up. However, Lightning can become such a hustle when you want to transfer the equivalent of 200-300 EUR. Just to think that an issue with routing or capacity occurs while others wait for you, scares me.

I agree that bitcoins are not the most practical crypto currencies for fast every day shopping. While long queues are one thing in the supermarket, in my country the self check out became very popular. To quickly scan and leave will probably not be possible. There might some alternatives however. One would be that there are scanners now in the supermarket, so you can walk around and scan the items when putting them into your basket. Paying directly in the middle of the supermarket and then there could be a confirmation until you walk to your car and leave. Another thing could be that a mobile wallet works together with the supermarket chain and the wallet operator would guarantee the payment as long as there is enough coins on the wallet. Its like with credit cards. The supermarket doesn't directly get the money either when using a card. It takes some time for the actual money to be transfered. Only on paper they are instantly credited.
2424  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The world of sport reacts to the Russian invasion of Ukraine on: March 03, 2022, 02:24:01 PM
That's a good idea to let them play for another team but they have a contract to fulfill and they are under an obligation under the Russian government to represent them, they will incur the wrath of the Russian government and will be sanctioned, besides this is not permanent if Putin back out the sports organizations may change their decision, this is just a symbolism that they are one in condemning Putin's action.

You are right that Putin will very likely not accept athletes to compete for other teams. Atleast he waited for the Olympics to be over with the invasion. I wonder how long will these sanctions be in place. So far the war is going on for a week and maybe they can negotiate a peace treaty quickly, but even then will the world go back to normality quickly? From the short video clips out of Ukraine it looks like there is a lot of destruction happening. And I imagine that the world will not abandon the sanctions until there is some form of compensation. The conflict could carry on for years and the athletes will have to sit out on international competitions. I expect the list of Russian sport teams to get sanctions to grow each week.
2425  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The world of sport reacts to the Russian invasion of Ukraine on: March 03, 2022, 08:40:09 AM

In an address to the Council, World Athletics President Sebastian Coe said: "Anyone who knows me will understand that imposing sanctions on athletes because of the actions of their government goes against the grain. I have railed against the practice of politicians targeting athletes and sport to make political points when other sectors continue about their business. This is different as governments, business and other international organisations have imposed sanctions and measures against Russia across all sectors. Sport has to step up and join these efforts to end this war and restore peace. We cannot and should not sit this one out."

I am fully against the war in Ukraine, it's a terrible thing and needs to stop. Even though Ukraine is fighting alone against Russia, I find it good that the international community is standing strong behind Ukraine, supporting them through supply and armament shipments, while issuing sanctions against Russia. Trying to make the economically cost as high as possible for Putin is the best strategy for Western countries, and the world seems almost united here. That is why cancelling sponsor deals in sports is a good idea, or not having competitions or tournaments in Russia. It's also good to see that Roman Abramovich decided to sell Chelsea and will donate his profits to help Ukraine.
Hurting the team and companies behind is alright in my opinion, but hurting the individual athlete is not. They spent thousands of hours training to become a professional athlete and there only mistake is to be born in the wrong country. Excluding them from competitions now is not fair I think. It would be better to let them compete under a different team, without the Russian flag.

2426  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Ledger Gutschein Raffle - 25$/€ - 16 slots on: March 03, 2022, 07:45:02 AM

2427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever subscribe to any tipser giving sports betting premium picks? on: March 02, 2022, 09:20:39 AM
So the question here is, does anybody here actually subscribe to any tipster who gives sports betting premium picks, and how much is did you pay?

So far I haven't paid money for a subscription on betting tips yet. In the past I tried out some free trial periods to take a look at their predictions, but felt like the bets where too far out of my comfort zone. I prefer to know atleast the basics of where I put my money. The only really money I paid for betting tips was back in university, I had a good friend who was following the second Bundesliga a lot and had good insights into their teams. So me and 3 other friends pooled some money together and let our friend bet all the money for one season. He made us a decent profit and in he go 25% from the profits. In the end we used all our profits to make a one week camping trip.

What was the experience, is it profitable or do you feel you got scammed?

The experience I had from the free trials I used is that the service was not a scam, the tips seems to have merit and are not just random predictions. The problem for me was that on some of the matches where money was bet on, I knew nothing about and it felt a little wrong to bet money and trust someone without doing my own research. Even if I am not as profitable mysef, I want to inform myself and make some own predictions. This is probably why I mostly bet on esports game. I watch the games for fun and it's some excitment for me to make some bets on the side. It's similar to managing your money, you can trust a fund manager to do it for you, or you take your own bets and risks. Atleast like that you can't blame anyone else than yourself if things go wrong.
2428  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: March 02, 2022, 07:53:48 AM

Are you sure about that? According to online sources, 1XBET, and its subsidiaries, were founded by Russian billionaire Roman Semiokhin, Dmitry Kazorin, and Sergey Karshkov. Karshkov has government connections, having once worked for the Regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. Besides, It is well known that the oligarchs brought Putin to power, and that today he controls the oligarchs and, together, they control and exploit the criminal world to their mutual advantage.

edit: If you are interested in learning more about this topic, I suggest reading "The Vory: Russia's Super Mafia" by Mark Galeotti

Thanks for this, I wasn't aware that the Russian online casinos are being owned by billionaires. You are right that probably most of the Russian oligarch have strong connections to the governments. As such boycotting the casinos will be another pressure point for the billionaires of losing money. That is also why many of the oligarchs are included personally in the sanctions against Russia. Increasing the pressure on their personal wealth is the strategy, so that they in return crease pressure on Putin to end the war. We shouldn't forget however, that there are normal people working on these casinos and boycotting them could lead to bankruptcy of the casinos. I am sure the average citizen in Russia doesn't want the war and for them losing their jobs is also a bad thing on top of economic downturn.
2429  Economy / Economics / Re: The ruble is going to hell on: March 02, 2022, 07:35:20 AM
It seems that Putin's gamble is not working out as he had hoped. He is moving militarily rather slower than he anticipated and now apart he has taken two economic measures:

To stop the bleeding of the ruble, which is plummeting even in the face of a weak USD due to over-printing, he has also ordered that: "Russian businesses that trade abroad must sell 80% of their foreign currency earnings and convert them to rubles...

So far it hasn't even been a week of conflict and things are already so out of control. Inflation is rising while the Ruble is dropping sharply. It is crazy to believe that Putin factored in all these Western sanctions and negative economic effects on the Russian economy when he planned the war with Ukraine.  It is very hard to get any independent news from the frontlines, there are a lot of Ukrainian videos that showing abandoned or destroyed Russian equipment, while the Russian TV shows they take Ukrainian soldiers that are captivity and large columns of tanks and equipment heading for Kiev. The question I ask myself is how long can Ukraine withstand that Russian pressure? Putin must have factor a time period for Russia to withstand that economic cost of war, it might be 4 weeks, or 8 weeks, or even longer. But eventually Russia needs to find a way to reconcile things with the world and try to get access to western markets again. It also remains to be seen how far is China willing to go to support Russia.
2430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is going up during war? on: March 02, 2022, 07:05:06 AM
Ok first of all I have really given up on trying to understand bitcoin behaviour, I remember so called experts said that bitcoin will touch 100k by the end of 2021 and we all know how much accurate that prediction comes out to be, then there is El Salvador we thought it will touch sky after El Salvador made it legal tender but it crashed.

And now i thought it will go new low and now it is going up, like what is happening, why it is going up in such situation of uncertainty and war?

There is no certainty with predictions in todays world. A prediction by "experts" is their own best guess how the future could look like with all information available at that time in the past. The crypo and also stocks crash at the end of last year came due to the new covid variant Omicron. Nobody really knew that we would get such a new variant that is spreading faster than Delta. In the end it turned out that Omicron is not as deadly as Delta and even with more covid cases things weren't as bad a year before. So maybe without the covid variant we could have reached 100k USD by christmas last year, who knows. As for El Salvador, I don't remember any prediction that said El Salvador has a huge impact on BTC price. It's a very small country with a weak economy, there is not a lot of demand from it.
Crypto prices recovered this year just to be hit by the Ukraine-Russia war. At the first day of the conflict I remember the news that WW3 is starting at the world is doomed, but since then it was public that no western countries will join the war and it will remain a conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and not Russia and Nato. Cryptos are a global project and many countries are not so much affected yet by the war. My advice is to not trust blindly predictions from experts, better to make up your own mind.
2431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the world running out of Bitcoin? on: March 01, 2022, 08:34:47 AM
No the world is not running out bitcoins. Everybody knew from the start that there is only a limited amount of Bitcoins to be mined. That is also what makes bitcoins so valuable. If we could just create new bitcoins out of thin air the price would never be as high as it is today. Being independent from governments that create the money supply is what makes cryptos so attractive to most investors. The maximum limit of Bitcoins is a great thing and we don't need to worry about it. The higher the price will be, the smaller the denominations we trade in. 1 BTC could be worth 1 million USD and we would still use it.
2432  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian flagship banks at the risk of collapse? on: March 01, 2022, 08:18:04 AM
I don't think that there is any risk for the big Russian banks to collapse. As far as I understood it it's only the European subsidiaries that will likely collapse. The banking system relys heavily of short term refinancing, and if you take away that chance to refinance by removing the market access the banks will fail. It's also not very likely for the main banks from Russia to step in and save them. The falling ruble price is also adding to insolvency pressure. As for the flagships in Russia I don't see them failing. Russia has full control over them and could always start printing more ruble. Another issue is that Russia could just freeze on deposits and don't allow withdrawals anymore.
2433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BEST SPORTS BETTING PICKS - GUARANTEED PROFIT - WOSPORT [#1 PREDICTIONS] on: March 01, 2022, 07:55:56 AM

NO PROFIT IN 7 DAYS? 100% REFUND

How does this work exactly? We need to bet the exact same slips as you do for 7 days, if there is a loss we get the loss back from you? That is a very generous offer from you. So far it seems that you are very profitable with your betting. I saw that you are winning always much more than you are losing, so for every 1 or 2 days of small losses, you have one big payout day. That is awesome, I might give it a try starting this weekend. Always good to consider new betting areas as long as they are profitable. But instead of betting $25 for game, I would probably start with just $5, so dividing all your bets by 5 to make it a bit cheaper on my bankroll.

buy-subscription
$20 / monthly

Oh I missed that it's a monthly subscription. Makes sense since you make so much money out of it. May I ask how much time you spend researching your bets every month?
2434  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: March 01, 2022, 07:36:59 AM
Considering the current events in Ukraine and the open aggression from Russia, what are your thoughts on the collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms in support of Ukraine?

We know that 1xBET and 1xBit are owned by Russians. Do you know any more? Could we make a list of all Russian-owned casinos?

I'd love to support an initiative to help Ukraine! I think it would be great if we all raised our voices together and supported it.

I also want to support Ukraine, the war is a terrible thing and should be ended as soon as possible. It is always the most vulnerable people that are hurting the most. Donating money is one option, another one is giving food and clothes for the refugees in Ukraine, Poland and Romania. Sanctions against the country Russia is a good thing to put pressure on Putin to engage in negotiations with Ukraine and end the war.  Boycotting all things from Russia will hurt ordinary people a lot more that it will the government. It is normal people like us who just happen to live in Russia. I have a few Russian friends and all of them are against the war, nobody supports it. Unfortunately there is a big difference in Russia being against something and protesting openly against it. You are not only at fear to be put in jail, but also to maybe lose your job or benefits from the state. Hurting the big state owned companies through sanctions is the right approach, boycotting everything from Russia is not I think. It's not like the Russian casinos are run by Putin himself.
2435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: March 01, 2022, 07:10:00 AM

G2 started good, but the end gave Faze a clean 3-0 win. It was a big slip for G2 missing the win after a great comeback. This was the first time in IEM Katowice a North American and Australian player had ever won an Intel Extreme Masters championship. From Twitter, G2 have planned to remove Manek as coach and replace him with XTQZZZ.

I was about to punch myself after seeing that great comeback, but man I was relieved when they cannot convert it to a win.

Watching the match was a rollercoaster, such a strong comeback from Faze in the first map and then the lenghty overtime in the second match. It was a 3-0 win but not an easy won for sure, very well played by both teams. Was a great athmosphere to watch it live. I felt like there was so much ingame betting during the final than I barely see from CSGO matches. After the first 5-6 round wins for G2 the odds came down to 1.25 for a win of G2, just to see them switch to Faze in the second half of the match. Broky is a great player, he deserved to be the MVP of Katowice 2022, I just felt that Ropz played a little better. His strong performance carried them through the finals. His ACE in the first game was so sick. Looking forward to the Major in two months.
2436  Economy / Economics / Re: War requires three things on: February 28, 2022, 11:49:36 AM
My question to the forum is how does Putin intend to make the war of aggression against Ukraine be eventually profitable?

It's very hard to quantify the losses Russia faces due to the Ukrainian war. The stock market collapsed, Rubble is going down, international trade stopped, many new sanctions are coming up. On top of that is all the military equipment being lost in less than a week. Every jet, tank or helicopter that goes down cost several million. All these costs together need to have some form of profit that Putin hopes to gain Ukraine. One Profit is that he hopes to get access to the natural resources, like natural gas. If he changes the government and installs a pro Russian prime minister he could also control the large companies in Ukraine.
2437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The state of Bitcoin during the war between Russia and Ukraine on: February 28, 2022, 09:24:33 AM
Russia is shutting down Western airspace where everything is being cut off from them they are fighting BTC and working with BTC to legalize the country because where their central bank is closed they are working to legalize Bitcoin in the country as an alternative to Takhra instead of currency. Can use bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a good alternative to traditional fiat money. Especially if people want to support Ukraine from abroad, then bitcoins is a quick way to pool money from all around the world to send to Ukraine. There are two issues which could be a problem. First, Russia might target the Internet infrastructure and tries to jam the access from abroad. Without working Internet it's hard to deal with bitcoins, and you always need to convert it to fiat money. That is probably why so many countries send goods and weapons directly, like medical supplies and fuel. With large amounts of money it might be hard for Ukraine to purchase things. The second issue is that there are fake donation requests to help in Ukraine. With bitcoins there is only a small chance to recover funds that have been send to a scammer.
2438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 27, 2022, 03:56:48 PM
After watching the semi finals yesterday it feels like G2 should take it all the way, on the other side Faze also have the momentum and even with a standin it's still impressive that these guys got this far.

I'll probably go with G2 later even if the odds seem skewed, as I view this series as a tossup since both teams haven't dropped a map so far. Hopefully, they take the first map so they could secure the insurance promo on stake.  Smiley

Yeah I agree, G2 looked like the stronger team during the playoffs. Beating NAVI in the Semifinals came as a big surprise to me, especially winning confidently 2-0 with no overtime. Usually my NAVI pick pays off better  Smiley Just not sure if I should place a last minute bet now on G2, with 1.5 G2 seems like the strong favourite of the game. Maybe a small bet at these odds on Faze is better payout.

No matter how much my heart is for Faze. When I look at the game of G2, I can clearly say that it is much superior to Faze, and I will go with G2 in this grand final. Niko and M0nesy, even hunter, they really carry the team well. Regardless, Faze is not an easy team either. I expect a superior performance from ROPZ, especially in the grand finals of this match.

Ropz is also one of my favourite players. I enjoyed watching him play since his early days at mousesports. He really came far. Would be awesome if he could pull of the Player of the Match.
2439  Economy / Economics / Re: China's strategy on the Ukraine invasion war on: February 27, 2022, 03:36:37 PM
I don't think China will follow b.) remain neutral and just observe. Russia is an ally of China, and China has been in a currency war with USA for years now. So if they have the chance to weaken the west they will do so. First of all I would expect China to block any major resolutions against Russia in the UN. Another step for China could be to directly support Russian. Russian banks will be blocked from Swift and they have no more access to western refinancing markets. China could use this opportunity to give out loans to Russia at high interest rates. In the end China will follow the path that strengthen their own position and not what is best for humanity. This is also why USA doesn't want to get involved to deeply in Ukraine, because their main concern these days is China and not Russia anymore.
2440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to be investing in Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2022, 03:24:47 PM
Hi everyone I was wondering if the overall Russian-Ukraine situation in Bitcoin is now pretty low, will it soar if the whole war is resolved again? What is your opinion? Thank you.

In my opinion it's a good time to buy bitcoins. The current price compared to the last 12 months is cheap. I do believe in the longterm upwards trend of Bitcoins. This is of course my own opinion and no guarantee that prices will actually rise soon again. It could be that the Ukraine crisis intensifies and BTC will drop even further. That would only be short-term. Over the next 12 months I expect a higher price than today. So if you don't own any BTC at all I would buy some now.
