2561  Economy / Speculation / Re: How exchanges steal our money on: February 26, 2018, 04:51:43 AM
While your accusations may not apply to certain exchanges, I think it could well happen. It's definitely doable for an exchange, almost undetectable and very profitable if they can do these on a consistent basis on this volatile market.

I think that the main issue with exchanges right now is still the fact that people are storing funds on them.

Most likely, exchanges are investing in stuff that they don't tell their customers about or even just using their money somewhere else to do stuff for the owner's benefit.

Many exchanges may be insolvent due to fractional reserve, and that's a huge way that exchanges are essentially watering down the coins you store on their site.
2562  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Attention! btcshade.com, btcshade.io is a scam! on: February 26, 2018, 04:47:56 AM
I apologize for my bad English. On January 12 2018 I sent to btcshade.com 0.0280 BTC. This transaction has 6 confirmations, the minimum amount of transaction that is indicated on the btcshade.com/faq.html is 0.01 BTC, but the mixing process did not completed Sad Trying to solve the problem, I sent 4 mails from 4 different mail services (mail.com, mail.ru, secmail.pro, protonmail.com) to the support@btcshade.io (btcshade.io is a mirror of btcshade.com). A long time passed, but they did not answer me Sad I have no other thoughts, except that they are scammers. Be careful with this mixer!

Definitely seems like that you have fallen into the scam of a classic phishing site.

Always check the official URL of the site before you do anything in it. Also I'm not sure if Bitshade.io is a legit site or not.

Anyways, I woulfd recommend sticking to well known bitcoin mixers such as the one that i'm advertising at the moment(Chipmixer). They are usually a lot more responsible with transactions and support, and has very competitive fees.

Hopefully you don't make the same mistake twice. Doesn't just apply to mixers either.
2563  Economy / Exchanges / Re: YOBIT support please reply to me, i am getting desperate !! on: February 25, 2018, 08:45:19 AM
Greetings Yobit team,
Exactly 70 days ago I have sent 4780 HK tokens to my yobit wallet. This was worth at the time around 40.000 USD when HKN was 8 dollar.
The tokens were sent from orderbook.io to Yobit HKN wallet. The tokens need to be recovered manually is what i understand, for that i need
a member from Yobit exchange to assist me. Still to this day i have not received the tokens in my yobit wallet. I have tried to contact yobit
support numerous times but have not gotten any reaction yet.

I have already contacted members and even the CEO of HKN about this issue. I have been forwarded to yobit support by the ceo of HKN
and will get back to him as soon as i get a reply from Yobit. Their contact support are also trying to contact Yobit from what i understand.

I have sent multiple tickets to yobit through my account on the exchange but still no reply. Anyone that has information for me to get in contact
with yobit please add to this thread, i would appreciate it !!

To the yobit team if you need any additional info to solve this matter let me know and i will provide it.

Transaction ID :

https://etherscan.io/tx/0xbad842bfb79a2bc1462503896ef4f415efc4c7b89f28c2867da28e75a338039f

My contact at HACKEN = Lyubomyr Pavlyk

The CEO of Hacken won't be able to help you. So I don't know why you even bothered contacting him. The problem here is on yobit's end and not on hacken's end. Hacken is merely using the Ethereum network to facilitate their token transactions.

Everything is fine with the transaction itself and the token.

What is wrong is that yobit decided to ignore your request of depositing funds and pretty much is doing nothing at the moment. From what I can see you're willing to provide as much info as possible but they're not even giving you any conditions. Which sucks.

Apparently translating support tickets into Russian helps... Have you tried that?
2564  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Freewallet.org - "missing" tokens for 1.5 months on: February 25, 2018, 07:28:57 AM
One month ago I wrote this post hoping that somebody in the freewallet team would care but... I was wrong. The Freewallet support is very very dissapointing... I've been writing mails, twits, and more things to them and they just say "keep waiting" meanwhile my 4k wabis belong to them.

I really want my money back, Im not a millionaire and that is a huge ammount. I trust them to keep my tokens safe, and they pay me back keeping my money away from me...

I really hope they solve this before I die...

Lol.

Freewallet has responded. Nothing more you can do. They gave out a promise and they're failing to achieve it at least at this point in time. I understand that there may be some manual handling of the payments going on here instead of the usual automation, but it shouldn't take this long even in the worst case scenario.

Instead of emailing freewallet, perhaps just PM the person on the forum.

They do seem a bit more responsive on forum. Whether or not they'll actually do what they say.
2565  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin recovery on: February 25, 2018, 07:20:02 AM
Good afternoon! Friends, do you think bitcoin has recovered and will it go up in March?

Presently we're seeing a quite sizeable dump off due to the new heights that we were able to achieve.

I think that we'll stay bearish for the week to come. Don't think that we'll see any uptrend before the market completely stabilizes and finds a spot to consolidate at, which I think will probably be at a sub-$9000 level.

We'll still be much higher than what we started with at the start of the month. So you could say that we've already recovered.

But after that period of consolidation we'll definitely see a new recovery trend upcoming. Potentially this time to $15k+ and establishing a floor at $10k firmly.
2566  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin down to 1900 USD ??? on: February 25, 2018, 07:05:31 AM
Forecast Bitcoin possible hit buttom target 1900 USD on this year - How do you think Huh

Who even said this? I doubt this will ever happen.

Not saying that it won't for sure, but it'll be a surprised to all, even the bears if it does happen.

Let's consider this: Bitcoin started out around $15k+ or so at the start of the year. It dropped to $6k and people were surprised as hell and they bought it all the way up to $12k once again. If bitcoin does go down to $1.9k, which is just 10% of the value from the year's start, then that's going to be some dump that has never seen in the history of crypto before. Not even in 2013.

You probably heard this from some ultra-bear who just hates BTC in general. Anyhow, if it does hit $1.9k, it'll be bought up to at least $5k in no time.
2567  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitcoinInvite.com: Is it a SCAM or Legit? on: February 25, 2018, 06:55:14 AM
Is this site is true and paying? As of now, there's no review in other review sites that shows it is paying. However, the earning amount is very questionable because no such program will pay you an amount of 0.002 just for inviting. Can we found out if it is a SCAM one, then let's move it to SCAM section to better inform people out there.

Take a look at this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUXjGNWmGOk (Proof that bitcoininvite is a scam).

With such high payouts, it is only natural that you are going to get scammed by this site. EVen if they do pay you out it's probably not going to yield you any profits whatsoever because you'll need to essentially pay to complete one of the surveys.

It's a common tactic to earn money and then give you something that is not as promised.

Use your common sense. All the comments are fake as hell. If you want to make BTC legitimately, offer some services for BTC.
2568  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: **BEWARE** Coinjolt.com Scam Website on: February 25, 2018, 06:14:09 AM
I read about this new site from bitcoinist.com but it seemed suspicious to me. I checked some of the photos on their site and they have been copied from elsewhere, as you can see from the links.

https://coinjolt.com/about-us (scroll down to see the pics of the supposed team)

Ryan Harrington - Cyber Security = https://www.epicscotland.com/

Larry Finkle - Market Research = https://www.greenline.com.au/about-us/our-team

There are other photos which are faked too.

They took down all of these photos, it seems. Don't want other people to realize this I guess.

All their articles on bloomberg and other news sites are being paid off by them. So it's really nothing like organic media attention. It's all paid, if you like. Also their site says that it's copyright 2011-2018, but the domain has been registered in 2012 and the bloomberg article has only came out in February. I'm sure that bitcoinist also listed it only some time ago. Why would they pose as a more experienced exchange when in reality, they are brand new?

Also if they are caught faking the pics, it's obvious. They're just here to take your money. They say that they are fully regulated, but fail to mention who regulates them and in which country.
2569  Economy / Speculation / Re: Guess we're not out of this bear cycle yet, huh? on: February 25, 2018, 06:01:00 AM
So when in the world will we break out of this bear cycle? When do you think it will end? This is a good opportunity for those who do not already own, but I don't know about you but I want it to go beyond $20k already. I guess we'll let more people in now so we can go up to that next level of a bull run... Cryptoverse only knows.

We're still consolidating at a much lower price level than the high of $20k last year.

We should be slowly moving up throughout the first half of the year, in my opinion. Ecah time the floor of bitcoin should be raised. There won't be as many pumps or as much volume in these pumps as last year, that's for sure.

The market mood is still quite bearish since the start of the year isn't a particularly good one. Though expect both the market mood and price to turn to a stable level once the floor is raised past 5 figures. A pump after this current consolidation should snap the market out of being bearish.
2570  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will go downwards again after current consolidation on: February 25, 2018, 05:53:31 AM
$10k support has been broken. It's not a true floor yet, I think. We're still seeing prices hang around $10k, however.

I think that we're going to bottom out at around $8500-9000 this time. Potentially a bit less but probably won't be as big as a crash as in January. We may be seeing a 4 figure bitcoin for the next week or so, and people may be inclined to sell.

Personally I'm going to hold through this. I'd buy as much as I could if price did drop below $9k since the $10k mark seems to be easy to hit, and BTC will have a very large percentage chance of returning to $10k after the dump just like last time.
2571  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can you explain why BTC price is going down now? on: February 25, 2018, 05:41:47 AM
Could you please explain???

I can't understand why....

There is no one single reason for this bear run.

You can't just say that there is one sole reason for market volatility happen. It's an open market, anyone can trade. Doesn't have to be some huge news coming out of some news source to trigger a panic sell off.

Right now, we're just seeing a correction coming off of a huge run up to $12k. That's only normal. We're still 50% above the all time low for the year. We're going to consolidate at $9k-$10k and most probably, get a decent run up to $14k+ once again.
2572  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Seems like BitPay have forgotten one teensy little aspect of crypto. on: February 24, 2018, 03:19:15 AM
Instant Transactions. Not instant confirmation(depending on the coin), but instant transactions, so color me surprised when I had failed to fully pay an invoice and I requested a refund.

Quote
While we typically process refunds within 24 hours of submitting the refund request, please allow 1-2 business days for processing. We will notify you when the refund is complete.

I also never knew that coins utilizing mining and a public blockchain only work on business days.

Furthermore, they have botched the payment method by requiring Bitcoin Payment Protocol, they hide the payment address and require apps to pay, on mobile with no dedicated wallet I use other online services..and I couldn't do it, it was thanks to a kind soul on reddit that I saw the method to find the payment address.

They should at least give people an alternative to using the bitcoin payment protocol. Not everyone is familiar with it and not everyone thinks it's any particularly useful. And not every wallet and especially exchange supports this protocol yet. Personally, I think that if you pay the due care when sending bitcoin payments to a normal address, you'll never get the address and amount wrong anyways. It's all copy and pasting. There are some merits to it, but is it really worth it for the hassle of transferring your bitcoin to an entirely new wallet if yours isn't supported?

The refunds should also be given to the user, as soon as there is a sufficient amount of confirmations on the deposit that the user sends to Bitpay for the invoice. It shouldn't take 1-2 business days to refund a simple bitcoin transaction that has nothing special about it.

Bitpay's monopoly on bitcoin fiat payment processing is fading away anyhow, with new competitors popping up left and right, both locally and globally.
2573  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: https://www.cryptopaperwallets.com/ or Cryptopaperwallets on EBAY! THIEF! on: February 24, 2018, 01:28:32 AM
  My friends..you are both right!

I had him make me custom total annihilation plastic wallets and sprinkled with a minute amount of BTC just for the fun of it.

And yes, was very well aware they would or could be stolen.SO the fault lays with me.

I would never trust any serious amount of BTC with anyone unless I created the paper wallet myself.

But it is what it is. The thief scammed people out of 7.7 BTC and probably alot of alt coins since he also sodl wallets for them too.

Well, it seems like to me that you knew about the risks in the beginning and stuck with the idea. No harm in doing that. And since the amounts that you put in are so small it's probably nothing major even when it does get hacked for you.

But for others, as you've mentioned, have gotten scammed upwards of 7.7 BTC and that's only one address. And a lot I assume didn't know the risks and put their entire bitcoin stash into one of these wallets.

It'll be interesting to see if victims of this scam are willing to come out and and raise some accurate figures and as much information as possible about this scammer. Since he used ebay instead of more anonymous options, there is a better chance that he's left trails behind.

2574  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yobit twitter account on: February 23, 2018, 10:45:46 PM
The problem is that the scammers also wrote on the official Yobit account:
https://twitter.com/yobitexchange

The scammers wrote at every tweet of Yobit the giveaway message. I was a little tired and didn't read carefully.
It is my fault to not have read carefully. But it is difficult to see as there were a lot of message after saying that they get the giveaway.
And the scammers succeed everytime to write the first comment on every Yobit tweet if you look carefully.

I don't really know well Tweeter as i don't have an account. I don't understand why Yobit can't erase thoses tweet or ban this user?
Other people might fall into this trap if they are not careful.

Who knows? It is maybe someone from Yobit? As i don't understand how this people could immediately write his comment just after the tweet of Yobit. Or maybe he has a lot of accomplice who like his tweet? This is a big problem if Yobit can't erase thoses comments. Or they should block the comments.

Ah, I see what you mean.

For example this status that yobit posted on their wall: https://twitter.com/YobitExchange/status/966694517561872384, has already been flooded with that giveaway even though the title of the tweet is saying that all of these giveaways are fake. He also probably employed a few people to fake the other comments on his reply to make it seem like it's something legitimate. There's even people posting proofs... Lmao.

I'm not sure if it's yobit but it's unlikely that they would try to scam their customers in this way. Especially if they have warned their customers to not send money to them. I'm not familiar with twitter but pretty sure you can't just delete replies.
2575  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: https://www.cryptopaperwallets.com/ or Cryptopaperwallets on EBAY! THIEF! on: February 23, 2018, 10:39:54 PM
This company or person sold crypto plastic wallets on ebay.

I bought some custom made wallets from them on Ebay...loaded two with $40 in Bitcoin back in July 2017.

Last week both wallets were swept or breached! Thanks to my bitcoin address tracker I was alerted right away!

The user is no longer a registered user on EBAY.

His website looks like it has been taken down as well!

https://www.cryptopaperwallets.com/

AS of today, over 7.7 BTC have been sent to the same address from which mine was stolen and sent to as per following

https://blockchain.info/address/1Nu95AhzqXC8tqZKjojSkqGG2w951ZZQhA

And that is only in BTC..I can imagine other alt crypto that probably was stolen as well!

I am sure many BTC newbies who loaded these wallets are not even aware their BTC is gone!

Other people whom have been breached have contacted the appropriate authorities!

If you know anyone who has purchased these wallets, then let them know NOT to load them.

And if they have to check their BTC. I am quite sure it is gone!
The server of that site isn't responding, so they are gone for good.

Thankfully it was only a small amount that you put into this, and not a huge amount that some other people put into it. The scammer's got around 7.7+ BTC in that wallet received in scammed funds, and everything has already been emptied into other wallets.

And that's not to count the profit that he made by selling these paper wallets to people both on his site and also on ebay.

You should never let anyone else know about your private key, period. If you want a vanity address generated by someone else, you need to use split key generation, no matter how trusted the other party seems to be.
2576  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance - where do you expact it? on: February 23, 2018, 09:23:36 AM
Hi.

I am quite new. But i really love this forum!
Great job to everybody.

Many people are measuring there money in their fiat, lets say doller, euro etc.
But the main thing here is,... beating the market. Means for me, trying to make more bitcoins with investing / trading whatever in compare to bitcoin.

So when I entered the market the bitcoin dominance was around 60%
Now we have around 36% market dominance.

Where is your prediction for this summer / end of the year,... and in the near future?

If bitcoin goes into steady growth, then I think that bitcoin dominance will stay where it is approximately or even drop a bit. This is because alts seem to benefit from the steady growth of bitcoin, generally, and bitcoin is just going up slowly while they skyrocket. If bitcoin skyrockets in value, to another all time high, then things could turn out differently. I expect bitcoin dominance to return to around 45% if that happens.

If we enter crypto winter, then we could see bitcoin dominance increase to 50-60% once again. People put more confidence in BTC than alts so BTC's fall will be a lot less than alts in general.

Any of these scenarios I think the most likely conclusion we can draw is that we're nearing the bottom for bitcoin dominance. Can't see it go under 30%.
2577  Economy / Speculation / Re: How not to lose money after a dump on: February 23, 2018, 08:52:10 AM
I think that first mistake that people make when invest in Bitcoin is that they expect only profit and they are very disappointed when the situation turns out different.
There is no investment that only brings profit. So from the start you have to have the strategy what to do when price starts falling and how will you deal with losses.
You have to know clearly what will you do on long term and short term strategy.
Always diversify your investment, don't expect miracles to happen and count with losses.
They think that if you invested in bitcoin you will earn a profit easily after you invested, Investing in bitcoin is not easy you need alot of skill and patience to become successful and you need to control your emotions on every situations like this.
You need to study trading before entering this game but your hardwork is worth because you can earn alot of profits here when you're already professional trader, That's the reason why other saying that bitcoin are shit due to lack of patience and lack of knowledges about crypto.

I don't get why you say we need to be professional.

If you aim at scalping/daytrading then yes, that's for pros.

But HODLERS can be even kids and they make profits in this era.
Look at how much the BTC price grew up year after year.

If a kid bought $500 worth of BTC one year ago without selling, he would be having fun now.
It's that easy: buy and hold for 1-2 years.

The cryptomania has just begun and has a long way to go.
It's stupid to sell now, you need to learn to hodl at least 1 year

It is indeed stupid to sell now, when bitcoin price has already went down around 50% from its all time high levels.

But is it really wise to say that every time this happens, just hold and wait for 1-2 years and you'll be able to reach new highs? If it's really that simple then the entire bitcoin network would just be a goldmine. While there are distinctions between bitcoin and the tulip mania, the psychological side of things are the same when it comes to FOMO.

How not to lose money during a dump? Either sell as soon as you see a trend reversal and take your existing profits, or if you are holding bitcoin for the long term, do exactly that. But holding for 1-2 years expecting a profit isn't going to always work as i said. It could take a decade to crypto to pick up its hype again and it's not always viable for people to do so, especially if they are buying BTC on credit(margin trading).

2578  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: djeezer12 is a scammer with PROOF on: February 23, 2018, 08:41:51 AM
djeezer12 says you solved this and you even wanted to give him some merit, here is the post where he wants to trade again: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2843837
I did want to give him merit before he kept lying to avoid paying me and he still hasn't paid me he cannot be trusted
He didn't call PayPal (To my knowledge) and even if he did. I called and they said they weren't going to do anything because it was a friends and family payment  and he wasn't hacked

like i promised you because im responsible for my own account and security of it we will resolve it. i already did the best i could to directly block the paypal and emailed paypal to refund the last transactions that came in and lock my account. If i was home then i could call / login / and fix this problem. you said its non refundable but i think thats not treu paypal is very safe to work with and if i email theů i was been hacked why should they not return it ? anyway i said i will pay you the eth i only asked to help afterworths to retreive my paypal part cause i think its already sent back as they told me they investigate it and take the needed actions. i will upload the emails from pp to when im back. im lucky the most he did was on paxfull but he was stupid he forget about the disputes and contacted support on time he only emptyd my wallet + blockchain to. i did not used 2fa until now! rest is safely stored at my homedesk in offline wallets. i was on a trip this week im heading home like i told you yesterday. mobile is very had to conversate. since i saw i was been hackd i changed everything and i kept contact with you..

He still never paid a month later so For everyone asking hes stiller a scammer that long paragraph he wrote was complete bullshit

You paid the transaction with a linked card on your paypal account, didn't you?

Even if you sent as a friends and family transaction, you are able to still contact your card issuing company and see if you can reverse the transaction. Depending on your situation, they may be able to do it for you. No guarantees.

So apparently, djeezer got hacked, which is the reason why he can't pay you back. 1 month is plenty of time now, I think it's time for you to try to be a bit more proactive on your part to seek a refund from either paypal or your cc company.
2579  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is Dropping, and Experts Can't Agree Why on: February 23, 2018, 08:18:14 AM
I reckon all of last year's exorbitant predictions about bitcoin going up to over $100,000 for 2018 will not come to fruition in the next 12 months.

The bull market is over. We need to start accepting that fact.

But that does not mean we shouldn't start buying some for the next bull market hehehe. Also, how would it affect the altcoin market? Will some altcoins take advantage and try to chase more value versus bitcoin?

“$10,000 is a plateau for Bitcoin only as long as profit-taking continues,” Trevor Gerszt, CEO of crypto investment service CoinIRA, tells Inverse. “Investors who bought the dip nearly doubled their money when Bitcoin got close to $12,000, so a little bit of retrenchment was not unexpected. Once that’s over, we expect Bitcoin to continue its long-term price appreciation.

Not everyone agrees. An analysis last week from Bespoke Investment Group claimed during its rise that the price would find resistance at the $11,000 mark. If it stays around that level, it could signal a stabilization for weeks, but a drop could signal a plunge to even $6,000.

Read in full https://www.inverse.com/article/41554-bitcoin-price-dropping
People said that bitcoin would go to six figures last year. I think that most of the people that were sane in their minds and didn't get caught up with the FOMO buying going on in the market at the time knew that it's probably not going to happen this year.

The cause of the crash is probably just due to profit takers. People taking their profits when they have made double their money back within like 3 weeks if they bought at the lowest level of the dip is nothing but surprising to me.

Best strategy in this case is probably to buy given the opportunity to, when BTC gets to an all time low even though I'm not asying that it would happen yet, do some dollar cost averaging and start accumulating for the next bull run.
2580  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptopia BTC withdrawal stucked at Processing.. on: February 23, 2018, 08:09:28 AM
Hello all

3 hours I made a cryptopia btc withdrawal, still in processing, not txId yet..

How can I do ?
Is it normal ?

Not supposed to be normal, but certainly seems to be the norm with how cryptopia is treating their withdrawals right now.

No idea if they are actually insolvent or pulling an exit scam, but apparently they are selectively processing withdrawals only. The vast majority of big withdrawals have been stuck on their site as a pending status, and not credited.

Lots of people coming out with their experiences recently that make them really look very bad as an exchange. I certainly would try to get my coins out of the exchange in small chunks if that's possible, instead of doing it all in one time.
