For the incident happen to Bronny provably many teams will avoid to take him since cardiac arrest is serious health case which teams can't risk to give him a contract sue to health issues. And it seems that we can't really see the most awaited father and son duo in Nba, maybe for this incident where Bronny is in serious troubles maybe we can see Lebron retires as his plan didn't come up and he don't have anything to prove anymore. Just want to see some miracle comes and there's still a chance for son of Lebron to have a good comeback and can still able to play good basketball together with his father or if not still land on Nba.
Let's not make it a big deal; instead, let's be positive. Let's trust the process the team will follow because he will not be included in the NBA draft if he doesn't pass the physical exam. What if what happened isn't that serious, or there's a cure for it?

Bronny has been anticipated to play in the NBA, although he isn't as good as his father. But with LeBron's influence, there's surely a team that will draft him. However, with what happened recently, some fans may be doubting his chance to make it to the NBA.
I am sure that someone will draft him because of his father, but also everyone has been talking about how he would be drafted due to his father but the kid isn't that bad himself. He is an nba draft potential player even without his father, maybe early second round at worst case, but he would be drafted if his father wasn't lebron james. It's not about how good he is, sure he is good but also about the fact that there aren't that many players that is better than him that year.

Many players are worse, so if we are talking about 60 players drafted, I do not see 60 better than him players on his generation. Which is why he will most probably be drafted anyway, with Lebron as his father, he will be drafted even higher for sure.

I agree. With Bronny being a decent prospect and the chance to land LeBron with a minimum contract to play alongside him, it’s worth spending a late round draft pick on him. That isn’t even to mention the business side of it. Being mentioned in the record books, jersey sales, ticket sales… It’s a no brainer, even with heart issues from a questionable source.

Sounds like people in the New Orleans Pelicans management are starting to sour on Zion Williamson. Missing the end of the season two years in a row when he was questionable to play was one thing that they were willing to work through but his latest off the court drama has left a sour taste in their mouth. If Zion isn’t an MVP candidate this year I think we may see him in a Knicks jersey in 2025.
2683  Economy / Speculation / Re: $30000 is becoming the resistant price on: July 28, 2023, 12:21:34 AM
I think we’re just seeing stability as buy orders act like a slowly rising tide. Since the economy is starting to squeeze people, banks are acting like crocodiles and waiting for those sell orders to creep close. The interesting thing to me was the drop in price below $30K, which to me seemed to indicate that someone knew the fed was going to be tightening again.
2684  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 28, 2023, 12:18:58 AM
The Fed and Jay Powell is so so so full of shit.

They'll look at all the seasonal spending over the summer (which would be a completely normal, typical level of spending by the way), call it "still inflation" and hike again in September.

But who the fk cares at this point. It really doesn't matter what they do for the rest of this year.

They've already signaled that a change in monetary policy is coming next year. They are already signaling that rates cuts are coming.

But why, out of the blue, would they just start cutting rates come first of next year?

Hint: they won't. There's no fkn way they start cutting rates without a valid reason. That reason is the (planned) rug-pull event they already have hashed out.

Whatever the trigger will be, whatever dominoes they allow to fall, it will be a shitshow.

And the Fed will be all like, "Oh wow, who could have seen that coming?? Hur dhur, I guess we have to cut rates now."   Roll Eyes

They would "have" to do a rug-pull because if they don't and just start cutting rates because the inflation is getting low, then real estate would jump and, therefore, the forward looking inflation expectations would increase as well, defeating the whole carefully orchestrated "program".

this is the third time i have watched them do it

late 90s ended kind of okay
2007-2008 crash and burn 🔥
2022 to now ?

The interesting thing to me about this time as opposed to the other two tightening cycles or rug pulls is that there is high inflation this time. When you look at the crash of 2008, bank assets across the board were taking a heavy hit that lead to cascading liquidations. This time is a little different because higher and more stubborn inflation is keeping valuations buoyed. Instead of banks causing pain from the top down, we’re going to see pain from the bottom up. This means more crime, more people losing their houses, but in a different twist this time, those who are “haves” will continue to see their assets increase in value. The line between haves and have nots is being drawn and it will likely be generational.

Anybody got a take on Donald Cerrone calling out Andrew Tate by saying he would knock the shit out of him? I think Andrew Tate has about 3 inches and 25 pounds on Donald Cerrone. That would be a problem in the boxing ring so I think Tate would take him in a boxing match. MMA though, Cerrone is probably right to think he could kick his ass.
2686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The blocksize war on: July 27, 2023, 10:00:01 AM
Naah, The blocksize war is an old-fashioned topic. Typically I am not sure why you are asking for it again is it just because of the recent ordinals Block crisis? For that even you are late. OP Block size is more than enough for now.

I am asking simply because of curiosity. I want to read about it, because I really have no clue about it. Simple as that.

Having lived it and watching what happened, I would recommend you look into the New York Agreement, who the players were, what they agreed upon as a compromise and why it went wrong. Then look at the comments of the developers after segwit was activated and their tune completely changed, trolling those who were dumb enough to trust them while being proud of their toxic behavior. That in a nutshell is why Bitcoin’s dominance isn’t >90% right now.
2687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faketoshi lost his appeal in Dr Craig Wright v Peter McCormack courtcase on: July 27, 2023, 08:20:25 AM
This one flew under the radar. I guess even the clueless media is starting to catch on that Craig Wright is a scammer not worth reporting on. I am glad that judges seem to be making the correct decisions when it comes to this fraud. I was worried for a bit that judges would be fooled by fake evidence so I’m glad that hasn’t been happening.

I do think there is a little merit in your statement. When you look at how the WEF praises China for their draconian policies and utilizing AI to keep people in line, it gets a little scary. They for sure want the entire world to be watching every person and holding them accountable for anything deemed not appropriate. It’s basically 1984 happening in real life.
2689  Economy / Speculation / Re: How did you see BTC in future? on: July 27, 2023, 08:15:09 AM
Maybe at least tell us why you think bitcoin will move precisely that way? So we actually have something to talk about rather than just us randomly throwing darts at a dartboard. Halving? Spot ETF? Anything?

Indeed. I think at this point though it will be due to more of the same. Institutions will be taking more and more BTC out of circulation. The halving will make miners hold until they are profitable and with growing hashrate and declining rewards, either the entire mining industry goes bankrupt and investors lose billions, or the price goes up and everyone makes money. It’s a feedback loop.
2690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 27, 2023, 08:12:05 AM
They already gained valuable experience last season, so perhaps they will perform like the Kings, who made it to the playoffs and posed a significant challenge to the defending champions, the Warriors.

Yeah, that's right. They reached the play-in tournament, and nobody expected it to happen since they are rebuilding and competing in the West, where most of the NBA contenders are located. SGA led the team to success, and now that they have experience, they'll learn from it. Next season, they will likely improve, especially if SGA receives that contract; for sure, he will be very inspired to play for his team.

His stats last season were very impressive.

31.4 PPG
5.5 APG

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/gilgesh01.html

I’m not a big fan of his. I think a big part of the reason that his stats are so high is because he plays for a terrible team. He’s basically a Kemba Walker on the Hornets type of situation. Move him elsewhere and he may end up in the bench. Maybe that’s a bad take, but I was surprised his team did as well as they did. I don’t expect a repeat next season.
2691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: July 27, 2023, 08:09:44 AM
There are many gamblers that can gamble just to have some fun and make money in the process and there are some that focus on gambling only to make money so I would like to ask such people a question.

would you prefer to gamble in a casino and make some money or learn about futures trading and make some money?

Which one do you actually find to be more easier and I believe that futures trading is also capable of giving someone life-changing money but which one do you believe is less risky than the other?

Futures trading is gambling in my opinion. You’re just making bets on companies and their ability to over or underperform expectations. Since it isn’t a black and white type of gambling it could give people the illusion that futures are some type of investment, but they are a really poor way to invest and a great way to gamble.
2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deposit limits on: July 27, 2023, 08:07:52 AM
The casino can only do so much for you. At the end of the day they’re running a business and you should have a right to use their service. Not to mention if they didn’t allow you to change this setting then for sure users would regret it and contact customer service. Probably say it was a mistake or they were drunk etc. the fact they allow you the option to do it at all shows they’re making an effort.
2693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 26, 2023, 09:42:46 PM
The fact that Jaylen Brown got 300 million contract with 60 million a year as his biggest and the biggest in NBA history during the period when Mbappe was offered 200+ just for a single year showed the basketball players what kind of money happens in football world.

I mean we already have players like Ronaldo and Benzema making that, and it is estimated that Messi will probably make a ton of money when it's said and done as well, between ownership of the club (not all of it, just partnership) and adidas and apple deals, I bet that it is going to be a huge one there too. In any case, good for Jaylen Brown to get what he can, there is nothing wrong with players wanting more money, they deserve it and they should get it.
It's quite the luxurious place for athletes to be and Mbappe is the living proof of that, Ronaldo likely opens this opportunity. So we do hope a Saudi Arabian controlled basketball team? I know there are talks opening new teams in the NBA but is there possibility that these luxurious offers to players be made in basketball as well?

A pretty crazy consequence of our oil dependence on the Middle East if you ask me. We’ve been sending them money for so long, they’re just going to buy our society right out from under us. It’s been happening for quite some time already but it appears that we’re (the west) about to lose popular culture as artists and athletes flee the states for more money. I think 10 years from now pro sports will start looking a lot different.

Anybody else watch Nate Diaz on Bradley Martin’s podcast? Brad seemed to think he could take Nate Diaz in a street fight and had some things to say about wanting to see Jake get knocked out. That caused Logan Paul to invite Bradley Martin to spar with him in Puerto Rico. This is a fight I’d actually like to see. I think personally that Bradley Martin is a chemically altered beast and would kill Logan, but we’ll see…maybe.

I would also bet on the Warriors next season. With CP3 on their roster, it will not be hard for them to score, as he is one of the best passers in the NBA. CP3, along with Curry and Thompson, will likely create plenty of open opportunities for scoring, and Curry won't tire easily since he won't have to carry the ball all the time.

I'm not sure if they will play him as a starter, but if they do, that's my perspective.

I like that factor in how CP3 will help the Warriors, the Splash bro shooting capabilities can be maximized.

Knowing how good CP3 is in terms of finding the open man the best fit for the position
and adding to that, he is also a big threat when the opponent focus with him only passing
the ball as he can also shoot and have that good percentage making the basket. Looking
forward to the Warriors run in this upcoming season

I don’t know. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I think Chris Paul will see the lowest usage rate of his career and at his age being inactive isn’t the best thing. While I think he will be big for them in the regular season and give the team a chance to win without Curry on the floor, I don’t think he’ll be able to hold up in the playoffs at his age. He isn’t LeBron.

Today I was pleasantly surprised to see Forged Army beer. How many of you heard of it? Their https://www.forgedirishstout.com/ webpage seems to be not very creative, social medias as well. Turns out this is Conor McGregors beer (https://shop.conormcgregor.com/pages/forged). This project is rather new on the market. What do you think about it? Will we see proper twelve 2.0 or restart in here ? Cheesy Beer is more available than whiskey, so the sales seems to be higher. Another 600 millions for Conor ? Cheesy

I’ve never heard of it but I’m also not surprised that Conor is going for another massive payday in the beverage market. Congratulations to him. He seems to be doing everything he can to get rich while he still has the limelight. At some point though he’s going to have to win an actual fight. It’s been so long I can’t even name the year he last won a fight of any kind that wasn’t against an elderly man in a bar.
2697  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 26, 2023, 03:15:00 PM
As I see the price stabilizing just below $30K and with all the recent COIN sales in the stock market, I am pretty much just waiting to see what the news is that insiders are aware of but the rest of us are not. Perhaps a development in legal proceedings against Coinbase or a sweeping round of notices of investigation by the SEC to crypto companies. Who knows…
2698  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The moral side of the grain deal on: July 26, 2023, 05:19:49 AM
I’m not totally educated on the grain deal situation, but isn’t it possible that Putin wants to make sure his own country has enough grain to feed his people without needing to import genetically modified food grown by the West and their allies? I’m not sure everything Russia does is evil and think they’re just trying to do what is best for them.

I don’t know what Dwayne Wade ever did to Paul Pierce but he’s occupying some series space in his head. I’ve heard Paul Pierce make this argument before and was promptly embarrassed live on television by Jalen Rose when he compared their two careers. Paul Pierce was good, ya. He was never best in the league good though and besides his petty terrible takes on himself, he’ll be known for shitting his pants and being rolled off in a wheelchair during a game.
2700  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of a Bitcoin could cost millions of dollars: Standard Chartered on: July 25, 2023, 04:20:07 PM
If inflation continues and nothing is done about government deficits, it is likely that most things will cost millions of dollars. I’m sure the average American house will be valued in the millions probably in the next 10-15 years. Then new cars 10 years beyond that. I think you could definitely make the case for a 8 figure Bitcoin come 2040, but the environment that will make that possible will also be what robs future generations of ownership of things.
