1721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: One rig different GPUs on: October 18, 2023, 03:47:42 PM
Once upon a time doing something like mixing video card types would have been frowned upon, but those days are long gone now. Developers have had over a decade now to implement all sorts of feature into their mining software that enable you to do lots of things like mine multiple coins or as you asked about, using different types of GPUs.
1722  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't Stand With Either Palestine Or Israel on: October 18, 2023, 03:46:14 PM
This is certainly a conflict that has many complexities that make it difficult to have a good opinion. The best opinion to have is to just hope for peace. No matter what people believe, they shouldn’t have to worry about going without food and water or being bombed just because they were brought up with a certain belief system.
1723  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval: Fueling Bullish Momentum? on: October 18, 2023, 03:44:00 PM
Obviously you can feel the change in the market since Blackrock announced that they’re getting into the game. I think everyone is expecting ETF approvals and a rally early next year as a result, so we can only hope that everyone is right and this isn’t a massive case of buy the rumor and sell the news, which would be bad.
1724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ's view on Halving on: October 18, 2023, 03:42:36 PM
He definitely speaks from experience and I think those of us that have been around for a few cycles are expecting the same thing. There’s a bit of hesitation in wondering if the market can really keep doing the exact same thing every four years, but until it doesn’t (with no FTX like evil actors) then I’ll be a believer and investor.
1725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 95% of NFTs have a market cap of zero on: October 18, 2023, 03:40:56 PM
The loss of value in the NFT space has been staggering. I don’t think NFTs are dead and believe they have a real valuable future where they play a role in finance, but I don’t think that will be by displaying them as art. Likely their day in the sun will come when the metaverse hits mainstream and people want property or items from popular metaverses.
1726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why meme coins are trending? on: October 18, 2023, 03:39:12 PM
I think meme coins are trending whenever people think there may be an opportunity for a get rich quick play. Personally though, I think meme coins have had their day in the sun. Maybe Elon Musk might be able to bring some value to Dogecoin down the line, but the rest of them are nothing more than vehicles to pump and dump.
1727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: People running older versions of Core - Why? on: October 18, 2023, 03:37:39 PM
A lot of people use older or custom implementations of Core because they’ve built other systems on top of that and they don’t want to spend the rest of their lives digging through code to keep everything working each time core has a new updates. When it comes to keeping software functioning, updates can be the bane of your existence.
1728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin accumulation at all time high on: October 18, 2023, 03:36:07 PM
I’m not sure watching a few wallets is enough to say that accumulation is at an all time high and I don’t think the current price supports that statement. I also don’t think it’s necessarily a good thing for Bitcoin that the largest holders are getting larger. I suspect this will lead to a pump down the line though when those big wallets want to start earning back from their investment.
1729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wow! US Gov among largest Bitcoin hodlers with over $5B in BTC - and Tim Draper? on: October 18, 2023, 03:33:45 PM
So many people criticized Tim Draper for his buy back in 2014 and for a little while he seemed like an idiot as I believe he lost something like 75% of his investment almost immediately. The story from there has been shocking though and I think it will continue. The wealth of early Bitcoin investors could become insanely vast in the next rally.
1730  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the selling pressure in the ATH level can be a problem to reach $100k? on: October 18, 2023, 03:31:40 PM
If we get close to breaking a new all time high, the fear of missing out in the market will be incredible and surely propel the price well passed the all time high into new territory. Right now people are still sitting on the fence and listening about Bitcoin. When the hype starts up again the rally we see will be absolutely face melting incredible.
1731  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Government job or private job? on: October 18, 2023, 03:29:59 PM
I personally wouldn’t want to work a government job, as it would feel more like stealing than earning a living to me since everything is paid for by the taxpayer and most government employees produce little of anything. Creating a business and employing people in the private sector on the other hand is one of the most rewarding things you can do.
1732  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 18, 2023, 03:28:07 PM
Did everyone go home?

Market exhaustion is setting in amongst even the most hardcore crypto market watchers. This is probably a good sign for the market as if there aren’t many people watching, then there probably aren’t many trading, which would typically signal that we are near the bottom. I expect a year from now the mood in the market will be quite different.
1733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 18, 2023, 03:25:48 PM
Lots of people have successful careers surrounding gambling. Mostly they’re called casino operators. When it comes to gambling it’s always best to be the house as the odds are on their side. If you’re trying to win at a casino as a patron, you literally have to beat the odds regularly, which is basically an impossibility for most folks.
1734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No scam sportsbooks on: October 18, 2023, 03:22:51 PM
You can always use the link in my signature to join Stake. Stake is one of the older and most popular online gambling sites with both a sports book and a casino for online gambling. They also have a great reputation and sponsor celebrities like Drake, so you know everything is legal and on the up and up. I vouch for them.
1735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 18, 2023, 03:22:18 PM
James Harden is absent from training camp today and hasn’t been with the team since Sunday. It looks like he gave it a try but is now back to being on hiatus while trying to force his team’s hand and get him a trade to the Los Angeles Clippers. It seems like this has to happen before the season starts, so I’m expecting to hear something soon.
1736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 18, 2023, 02:43:22 AM
Watched the Suns game, between Durant and Beal and obviously Booker, they have a very good offensive team but I am feeling like they are going to have a huge problem come playoff time with their defense. They do not really have a proper defensive player. I am not saying get JJJ for that team, which they can't that would be way too much, but they really needed some defensive players here and there so that those players would cover some ground. I still do not completely understand why they wanted to get rid of CP3, he would have fit that team like glove, he would be their point guard and would feed everyone and would be great defensively for them too.

I guess they're gonna be fine man. I watched them play against the Blazers and yeah they have got a really good offensive fire power. Obviously because they have KD, DBook, and Beal these guys are a lethal scorers. Another thing that I've noticed is that they have a good supporting cast that could cover them in the defensive end. Azabuke is a good defender under the rim and of course Jordan Goodwin who had 3 steals in under 4 mins against the Blazers, not to mention he is actually good both offensively and defensively.
Honestly, after I watched that game I'm starting to think again that the Suns may have secured their ticket in the Finals. But then again, that's just a regular season let's see what they'll bring come the regular season.

That’s why they got rid of Ayton. To bring some got and toughness to their defensive squad. You also can’t sleep on Kevin Durant. While he may be one of the best offensive players to ever shoot the ball, he’s also no slouch on the defensive end. When he was on the Golden State Warriors he was an absolute menace defensively.
1737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 18, 2023, 02:39:44 AM
Seeing the market jump straight to $30K like that makes me wonder how long it is going to stay below $30K. Typically once all the sell order have been taken out you see the price drift back to the top once the sellers have their chance to strike back. I’m assuming we’ll be above $30K by the end of the month and still wouldn’t bet against my thoughts we’ll end the year at $40K.
1738  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 17, 2023, 09:11:26 PM
This latest jump does have me feeling a little bit more bullish. I forgot what it was like to wake up to a price thousands of dollars higher than when I went to bed. Looking forward to the day when I wake up and the price has gone up more than ten thousand dollars while I was sleeping. I think next year could be the year…
1739  Other / Politics & Society / Re: STARLINK DIRECT TO CELL on: October 17, 2023, 09:09:55 PM
I believe T-Mobile already had a deal with starlink to provide mobile internet in certain locations. I’m not familiar enough with all the costs involved to know if this is something that is going to put pressure on traditional providers like AT&T, but common sense tells me that this sort of service is probably easier provided without satellites floating around in space.
1740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 17, 2023, 09:08:12 PM

This may not be of interest besides the name but Scottie Pippen Jr. has been waived by the Lakers. He wasn't able to make most of the opportunity given to him and I think the preseason game against the Bucks had a big role in the management's decision since he played quite poorly.

That's just the way it is, if you don't have something to put on the table, you are out because everyone has their own contribution to the team, and since the Lakers is a championship team, their standards are high. Therefore, he should really work hard because his competitors are not gonna miss some chance to prove their worth and they have been practicing a lot so when they are given a chance to showcase their talent, they execute it well and impress their team.

The caliber of players of the Lakers right now is top-notch, that's why even if you are in the roster, like Pippen Jr, he has to work hard to earn that spot in the team. Unfortunately as competition is very tough, he was given the opportunity, but wasn't able to exploit it that's why it was a hard decision for the Lakers to let him go.

For sure they were high hopes since he is the son of a legend, but we all know that they are not the same. Hopefully he learn something from his Lakers stint so that he can improved and motivate himself.

I don’t know… I’m not all that sold on the Lakers roster. Pippen Jr just isn’t good enough to be in the NBA. The Lakers gave him and Shaq’s son a try out of respect but neither of them were ever going to get real minutes on the floor. It’s things like this that make a franchise popular with players though. Loyalty is always big.
