Andre Iguodala just retired. The guy has managed to get a lot of achievements during his entire 19 years NBA seasons of his career.

Do you think that his jersey is also going to be retired by the Golden State Warriors? I am pretty sure that Steph's will be but don't know about his.

He truly deserves to have his jersey hung because he was one of the major reasons behind the Warriors' success when they won a championship. He was named Finals MVP in 2015, and his ability to limit LeBron, who is the best player of the Cavaliers, was a key part of their victory. He successfully guarded LeBron throughout that series.

I can confidently say that he had a fulfilling career in the NBA. As we all know, a player's ultimate satisfaction comes from winning a championship, and Iggy achieved that with Curry and the rest of the big three.

Iggy going to the Warriors was the moment when the dynasty was created. Without him, the Warriors would not have had the success they did against LeBron.

Speaking of the Warriors, Wemby had a pretty nice highlight tonight swatting Klay Thompson and then getting a monster dunk on a fast break the other way. It was impressive.

I hadn’t heard this one but developing a blue substance inside sounds like a problem that you probably don’t want to have when it comes to an expensive electrical device with a very high operating temperature. Sounds more like an episode of Breaking Bad than a report on graphics card issues. Hope they got this issue figured out.
1703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hey Bitcoiners Choose Simplicity Over Complex Technicalities on: October 20, 2023, 09:44:32 PM
There are always choices in how to store one’s Bitcoin and I would even suggest people choosing more than one method. For many users it is a tightrope of how to store your coins though. They want simplicity without someone being able to get their private key from a sticky note on their monitor, but also don’t want to mess something up and lose all their coins.
1704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 20, 2023, 09:42:47 PM
People can learn all sorts of tips and tricks, but when it comes down to it there is nothing you can do to realistically stop yourself from gambling irresponsibly. You just need to be a man and take responsibility for your decisions. If you don’t want to lose more than a certain amount gambling, don’t bet more than that amount. It isn’t rocket science.
1705  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Flood the natural disaster on: October 20, 2023, 09:41:00 PM
This natural disaster is something that has become a yearly nightmare all around the world...
It displaces people... properties... businesses...lost of lives.etc
I think there should be an organization all around the world to tackle this to an extent..
What's your take on this?

My city was flooded when I was in Junior High School. Many of my friends’ houses were flooded and the damage was shocking to witness firsthand. All family photos and heirlooms gone. Basically your entire life and history just washed away leaving only the bones of a home to have everything replaced. Flooding is much more devastating than most people realize.

I think once we see a meaningful break above $30,000 you will begin to feel the FOMO building. A lot of people have written Bitcoin off since the last run up stopped and have no idea that the price has hit bottom and started moving up for the next cycle. Soon the news about Bitcoin being back will be everywhere and the buyers will be coming out of the woodwork.
1707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 20, 2023, 08:13:34 PM
The Lakers and the Suns facing off was a cool game to watch. Both teams seemed to lack something. The Suns in particular seemed to have guys out there on the floor that shouldn’t be playing in an NBA game. I thought Nurkic looked good but some of the Suns smaller defenders looked lost out there when facing up against bigger players like LeBron.

As I see it, the main point of preseason games is to get the main players of the teams warmed up before the regular season and also to give the bench players some playing time on the court. That way, the bench players have some opportunity to prove themselves, while the coaches can decide who should play in the NBA and who shouldn't.

I hope so. The less Grayson Allen I see on the court the better. He has no business being in the NBA with his dirty play style and I hate seeing him on my home team.

Just a few more days until the season kicks off now. I can tell you that I will for sure be spending Tuesday night watching the guys on TNT kick off another year of NBA basketball.

The price has come a long way towards closing the gap in the recent high. Clearly there is a lot of demand right now with such a large price spike being created. It will be worth watching now if the price rejects off the recent high or if we see it blow right passed it and into price discovery territory. It’s exciting watching the market get ready to explode.

The video going around showing Raymond Felton getting cooked on defense is crazy. That guy has got to be at least 60 pounds overweight. Whoever extended his contract to where it is now should be fired. He’s got to be one of the most out of shape men to ever put on an NBA jersey. Granted there’s no way he ever sees a minute on the floor. Just wild to see.
1711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2023, 06:41:28 AM
Steph Curry did it again! This is just preseason Steph, don't use the night-night on a winning shot, it's too early!!!  Grin
116-115. Final score, the Dubs won.

What a game in San Francisco! Sacramento Kings played really well and they even had the big advantage of up to 18 if I am not mistaken. And then 4th quarter came and the Warriors played defense. Steph says this is all just their preparation for what may happen in the regular season and they want to build chemistry too so they are trying to play it better.
Golden State Warriors have not lost any game in the preseason yet while the Kings have not won any so they badly want that W and Steph got in their way.

Anyway, there's no way they will shoot a deuce and take it to overtime, a waste of energy. Very good entertainment for a no-bearing game, loved it.

Man, this game felt just like a regular season showdown, didn't it? The star players were out there, logging heavy minutes like they always do. These two teams have a real rivalry, especially after that first-round playoff face-off in the West that went all the way to Game 7. If I remember correctly, the Warriors broke the Kings' hearts in that one.

I have to say, I was impressed with the Warriors' ball movement. CP3 was a huge boost for them, and I'm hoping he keeps it up when the regular season kicks off.

And can we talk about Curry? That guy is just insane beyond the arc. He was nailing shots from all over the place, even with some tight defense. Big win for the Warriors, no doubt.

I’m sure after their matchup in the playoffs at the end of last season there was still some bad blood between these two teams. Amazing ending though. If you haven’t seen the clip yet then go search it out. Stephen Curry taking an inbounds from Chris Paul to hit a game winning three pointer is a great way to cap off the preseason.
1712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was ripped off on: October 18, 2023, 11:53:37 PM
Whenever you read stories like this I feel it is important to remember that it wasn’t some failure of a protocol or software bug that lead to this rip off occurring. It was just a standard run of the mill scammer that happened to find a victim willing to send funds online in a non-reversible fashion. Let his mistake be your education.
1713  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 18, 2023, 11:51:33 PM
Bitcoin held up pretty well today in the face of massive stock market declines. This especially impressive when you consider the big spike we just had. I still believe we’re going to trend upward and close the gap between the recent high and current price, but traditional markets probably need to halt their collapse first.
1714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: October 18, 2023, 11:49:50 PM
I see a lot of people blaming gambling for all sorts of things in this thread, but I think it’s also important to have some personal responsibility and accountability for your own actions. The fact is if you want to be irresponsible with your money there are a million ways to do it, but at the end of the day it is you that makes the decision whether or not to risk your money.
1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 18, 2023, 08:56:29 PM
Not a good sign that LeBron is already having nightmares and the season hasn’t even started yet. While I do think he’ll have a good season and add to his records, to me the team he’s running with just doesn’t seem good enough to win a title. For that, I think they really needed to be the winners of the Damian Lillard sweepstakes.

Dillon Danis is back at it today shamelessly tweeting at Dana White to try and get a fight lined up for him in the UFC to get himself another payday. Sadly, because of his lawsuit with Nina Agdal he’s probably going to have to find himself some more fights somehow. Otherwise he’s going to end up bankrupt after all is said and done.
1717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 18, 2023, 03:55:56 PM
I’ve discussed gambling with my parents a few times but can’t say that my Mother ever approved. She would always tell me that nobody ever wins in gambling and would seemingly be annoyed when I enjoyed watching games with money on the line. She always worked hard for her money though, so throwing it away so recklessly was hard to understand.
1718  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is doubling your investment more probable than we think? on: October 18, 2023, 03:53:27 PM
With halving less than a year from now, the majority of us are speculating a major increase in price and possibly the start of another bull market after 4 years. Some are expecting to surpass the previous ATH of almost $70,000 and possibly reach $100,000. Although this scenario sounds great and all, I'm not quite confident that it'll happen in the upcoming year or so. The current economic condition in the world isn't too promising and, in my opinion, will set back investments in general, including bonds and the stock market. I hope I'm proven wrong, though.

However, I tend to have a more pessimistic and down-to-earth approach to this matter. Bitcoin's current price is ranging from $27,000 to $28,000 as we speak, while we will also occasionally see it as low as $25,000. With that being said, in my opinion, sometime after the halving, the scenario of Bitcoin surpassing $50,000 doesn't sound too impossible to me. Thus, if we suppose that someone purchases Bitcoin now, approximately within a year, he or she may be capable of doubling their initial investment.

I know that these are all pure assumptions, but instead of speculating massive ATH and 3x or 4x returns, which are way too common in the forum, why not expect something that is more probable to happen in the near future? And to be honest, doubling your investment is a great yield that cannot easily be found in other forms of investment.

Those of us who have been around for a few cycles don’t think that a x4 return from here is out of the question. Almost the opposite as we’ve seen this happen every four years several times now. Sure a x2 return would be great and I wouldn’t spit at it, but at the same time, I think it’s more likely we see a x3 than a x2 this cycle.
1719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoins have dropped at least 10x in this bear market and will easily 10x on: October 18, 2023, 03:51:25 PM
While chasing shitcoins for easy gains can be lucrative, it can also be financially destructive. Bitcoin is such a game changing technology and being here this early in the game makes it an incredible investment opportunity. I’ll never understand why people when faced with this opportunity instead of investing look for this biggest pile of shit to try and pump to quick riches…

Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ?

Gambling is a way to be entertained. I think if a significant other had a problem with the way you are being entertained then the simple thing to do would be to adjust your behavior to make them happy. I think in this case, finding a new hobby to please your spouse would be worth it, as life has more to offer than gaming with the hopes of making money.
